New Love
The Meeting
Haku was a bit fretful of what his roommate would be like. After Zabuza’s death he upped and decided to go to college as a means of escaping his grief. Even though he could not stand the mere idea of living with someone again, he had no choice.
He thinks back to himself and remembers all the quarrels and fights he had been in with him. The way Zabuza had smacked him around like a mere toy for just simply saying hi to a friend.
The fact that Zabuza had died was his freedom and he always wondered to himself; if Zabuza had not died what would have happened to him. Would he have been able to leave him, so many questions that he didn’t really want answered. Even though he had loved Zabuza; he was with him until the point that he became a controlling, possessive bastard, and then he died.
Haku decided that college was his big break and that he was given a fresh start in life to move on. Now all he had to deal with was living with some one else again.
He wanted to be in a dorm room all by himself but he realised that his measly cash that from Zabuza’s death insurance could not cover his tuition, meals and supplies and a room for himself.
Haku thought to himself, "maybe next year, if I find a job”
While Haku busied himself putting away his things from the boxes present, he had not realised that his roommate was transfixed at the door way holding the door knob and watching him intently.
What had caught Haku attention to the boy standing there was the yelling of another individual.
“Gaara!!, get the hell out the way your damn boxes aren’t light, dammit”
Haku looked at both boys and it was as if time stood still because he could not take his eyes from the pale green eyed boy who had the reddest hair he had ever seen, which framed his milky white skin.
Both boys stood looking at each other until Haku looked away.
“OH SHIT!!” blurted Kankuro, when he nearly dropped his brother’s boxes that he was holding.
Gaara’s POV
I wasn’t looking forward to college. I know I would have to take over Dad’s company some day but college means dealing with people and socialising, what a pain. That girl, I guess she’s my roommate, all I want to do now is just thank Dad for forcing me to be here and that I can share a room with some one this hot. Just look at that girl, I didn’t know that this college was co-ed hn this is going to be an interesting year.

Gaara, “Big brother you don’t have to stand there staring, its bad manners plus you' re gay now GET OUT!!.”
Kankuro, “Okay see you then. Remember call if you need anything”
Gaara shoves his brother out the door, “Whatever go!!”
Kankuro, “K, I’m gone”
Gaara looks from his busy roommate to his things and begins unpacking.
Haku thinks to himself, “Well if I’m gonna have live with him I guess there is no harm in getting to know him”
While Gaara is at his task he feels a warm tap on his shoulder.
Haku, “hey there”
Gaara turns to the soft voice of the girl behind him. He then turns a light shade of red, when he realises that the girl is holding up his red and white hearts underpants that must have fallen to the ground.
Gaara takes it, “Thanks…um.. ”
Haku softly says, “The name is Haku”
Gaara, “Hey..um Haku,I’m Gaara”
Gaara, “Can I ask you something Haku?”
Haku nods
Gaara, “When did the college become co-ed?”
Haku laughs, “What do you mean; there are only guys here”
Gaara’s glare widened at Haku’s comment.
Gaara, “ Um …um…a…Hakuareyouguy?”
Haku just smiled, “Yes Gaara I’m a guy, is that a problem?”
Gaara nodded, ‘nope, sorry about that its just..
Haku touched his hand on Gaara’s, “don’t worry about it, happens all the time; it just that I look like my mother”
Haku didnt realise the contact he had just had with Gaara and neither did Gaara. Haku blushed and looked away, while Gaara smiled.
Gaara, “hey Haku wanna go get a bite to eat?”
Haku, “sure lets go but your packing?”
Gaara, “Later”
Haku’ POV
What am I thinking? I just met this guy and now we’re going out. Let’s relax Haku this is not a date. Even so I can’t go out with him he just might hurt me like Zabuza did. He seems nice though and he is cute. I guess he’s just being a friendly roommate.

This is going to be a great year both boys thought as they made their way out side by side.

I had promised myself to write a Gaara Haku fic because they go so well together but they are not a lot of fics with them. I am feeling a little depressed right now and I did this so guess I haven’t really lost my sanity yet. REVIEW Ok
