Because of you I learned how to live with very little and never beg
Because of you I learned to fear my birthday
Because of you I learned how to hide in shadows and not make a sound
Because of you I learned what hatred really was
Because of you I learned what true fear meant
Because of you I learned how to always be alone and never expect otherwise
Because of you I learned how to teach myself how to fight
Because of you I learned how to save for a rainy day since everyday seemed to rain
Because of you I learned to prove myself to others
