Legends

I am using poetic license on the historical aspects in the story especially that of how the Uchiha's came to be and the forming of the Hidden Leaf Village. I have seen nothing that tells how or when the village was formed. I’m assuming since there are only five Hokages that the village is pretty young. I’ve also made so that the other four great Shinobi villages are older. Naruto doesn’t really tell you the time setting of the Manga so I’m also assuming its more modern. I’m assuming this because you see things like Head Radios, surveillance equipment, and heart monitors. However they don’t have cars and I know we had cars before any of those things. Does anyone else find that a little confusing? Oh well, on to the prologue.

Full summary:Legends are wonderful things. They are a piece of history and should be cherished. However, like history, they often repeat themselves. Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura seem doomed to repeat the mistakes of their teachers. What’s worse Naruto and Sasuke appear to be reliving Madara’s and the first Hokage’s tragedy. However, another legend is going to stop the cycle...by helping Sasuke.

Legend of the Greatest Uchiha

The Uchiha have many legends, but none more sacred than that of the greatest Uchiha who ever lived. This Shinobi lived over two hundred years ago, as the clan had just began to establish itself. They helped to carve out the unique greatness of the Uchihas when the Uchiha were still considered by many outsiders as a mutated branch of the Hyuga. Her name was Izayoi.

As it was back in those days female Shinobi were taught only the basic ninja arts. Just enough for them to defend themselves and there children in case of emergencies. They were expected to be married and have a family by the age of sixteen. Only those females who possessed the Sharingan, like Izayoi, were allowed to learn more advanced techniques but even they had to produce at least one male offspring before they were allowed to advance. The only exception were those women who were proven barren. Izayoi was no exception.

The ideal wife, young, pretty, and docile, Izayoi was married at the age of fifteen and pregnant before the first anniversary. This would have been a good thing except the unborn baby was likely the product of rape. There was no great Shinobi village in the fire nation at the time. The clans were all in separate villages, scattered throughout Fire Country. This left the clans, especially the newer ones vulnerable to attack.

Five months after being married the clan was attacked by enemies form a real Shinobi village. This village had begun to fear the power of the Sharingan. As luck would have it they attacked at a time when most of the men were away, leaving the village nearly defenseless. Izayoi rallied the women, allowing those with small children as well as the elderly to flee to safety. However, the meager force of barely trained women and a handful of men, were easily overcome by the much larger and more skilled enemy. Those Uchiha men who survived the battle were killed and the woman were tortured for the whereabouts of those who fled. Some, like Izayoi, where raped.

The missing men returned and took the enemy by surprise, but the damage was done. Izayoi carried the child to term with the hope that it might not be a bastard. However, her fate was sealed. She was an outcast. After the birth of the baby she annulled the marriage on grounds of adultery. Since at the time this was permissible, and back then rape was considered an act of adultery, the marriage contract was dissolved. Izayoi left the village to prevent any shame that may come to her family. Twenty years passed with no word from Izayoi and peace returned.

It was around this time that many clans opened talks with each other about forming Fire county‘s very own Shinobi village. This disturbed the other hidden villages and they came together in an attempt to crush any chance of a fourth great Shinobi village. They sent out a large collective force. There was a great battle, though short lived. No more than a day had passed when winds, powerful enough to yank strong trees out by their roots, forced a temporary end to the battle. Both sides regrouped.

Then Izayoi appeared with a form of the Sharingan no one had ever seen before or since. Her eyes were entirely black, no white to be seen. The only color was a dot of crimson in the center. It is said that she climbed a mountain and sat, facing the direction of the opposing force, and stared. After nearly fifteen minutes the army of enemy Shinobi began to fall one by one, dead. This continued until almost all were dead. When maybe a hundred enemy remained the force killing them suddenly stopped. Terrified they fled. Izayoi was found in a collapsed heap, blood running from her eyes and nose. She was dead.

All legends are based in fact, but they are also embellished in lies. This legend is no different. However, this one, is about to come back.

AN: In case you haven’t noticed this is actually just an old story that I’ve renamed. It was Training Sasuke. (I'm taking a page out of Tolkien's book and starting from scratch when I'm lost) It will be different from the last version. It will open on a different scene and I plan to really watch character devolopment. Does anyone even care that I’m continuing? Please review
