Loving the Fight and Each Other
(Neji is the modest, silent, lightning fast yet delicate fighter, Ten-Ten is the loud, angry, rain of death from about 50,000 shuriken and other weapons. If you’re wondering why they make such a great couple, he makes her calm and quiet, and she opens him up a little emotionally and in just plain talking. But how did it start in my world you ask, well….*

It was a pretty simple mission; go give the guards and military for the land of fire some weapons, as the current rainstorm left their weapons rusted and useless. Ten-ten and Neji were heading back home, when she said “you know, I think I’m proud that I can use my Jutsu like that.” Her scrolls allowed her to summon weapons at any time, primarily used to cause a hailstorm of sharp metal objects to rain death upon her enemies, usually very effective. Neji remained quiet, scanning the area with his Byakugan to look for shelter for a while, until the rain let up. “Over there,” He said, leading the both of them to a fair sized cave, Neji did a scan with his Byakugan, revealing that there wasn’t anything or interest inside. Ten-ten sat down against the wall near the back of the cave, setting her stuff down next to her, “Man, will this rain ever stop?” she asked, it had been raining for most of that month, causing floods throughout the Land of Fire. Neji sat down around the same area as her, nodding, “it may be clearing up in a few days from what I’ve heard.” Neji never really had anything to say unless he needed to go over strategy during a mission, but ever since he became a Jounin, he has stopped his silly nonsense about destiny and whatnot.
They heard a noise come from outside, and Neji quickly activated his Byakugan, but was too late to see what was happening. “NO!” he yelled, as the entrance to the cave, (the only one) had been sealed by a rockslide. Ten-Ten and Neji ran over to see if they could escape, other then a few small breathing holes, they rock that were loosened by the rain were to large to move. “Damnit, we’re trapped,” Ten-Ten moaned, and Neji calmly said, “Don’t worry, I’m sure someone will come looking for us.” Although they didn’t realize it, the next 24 hours in that cave were going to make them very close to each other.

Ten-Ten pulled the only blanket they had and took off her shirt, laying the wet cloth down on the ground for a second and wrapping the large blanket over herself. Neji didn’t look as she undressed; he found it to be improper to do so. “Well, since were stuck here, let’s talk,” Ten-Ten said, “you know, because we should know more about each other since we never talk about anything, even though we’re on the same team.” She really didn’t want to talk just because they were a team, it’s because secretly she had a crush on him. “Well, what would you like to talk about?” He asked, not even remotely sure where it was heading. “Well,” She said, mildly blushing, “do you have a girlfriend?” “No, I have other matters to attend to, such as the safety of my clan,” Neji said sternly, making the girl frown a little, “Why do you ask?” Ten-Ten was kind of upset about that, she looked down and simply said in a rather sad, “no reason.” Neji was very quick to pick up on that and simply patted his hand next to himself, to which she moved over and sat next to him. “You know, Hinata has been requesting more missions with Naruto,” he said, and she smiled a bit. “Yeah, it’s not like she’s ever going to tell him how she feels,” she blushed at that, thinking the exact same thing about herself. “Ten-Ten, it seems like you want to say something to me, so why don’t you,” Neji said in a rather monotone voice; she just blushed crimson.
“I don’t want to say, it’s nothing anyways,” She mumbled, and Neji looked at her silently for a second, “but, it’s something about someone very important to me.” Neji could not resist any longer and just said it, “You love me, don’t you Ten-Ten?” Ten-Ten froze and was almost bleeding from her nose, “How did…?” her voice trailed off and he simply said, “My cousin acts the same exact way around the person she loves, do you think it’s that surprising to me?” She simply rested her head on his shoulder, not even believing that she was plainly showing it. “Yes Neji, I think you’re the sexiest, most attractive man in all of Konoha, and I do love you,” she completely blurted out, not even bothering to try to hide it from his eyes. “Well, as I said, I want to look over my clan first, however,” Neji explained himself, looking at the pile of rocks that separated them from the outside world, “if you would like to be warm right now, I would not mind you cuddling up to me.” Ten-Ten smiled and sat in front of Neji, with her back to him, and rested herself into his chest. Neji took off his upper body robes and made them into a makeshift pillow for himself, as his back was in a bit of pain, and she nuzzled up to him more. Under the blanket she had a body bandage wrapped around her chest, it was a lot easier to wear then a bra, which hurt her chest a great deal, and Neji noticed that as well, not thinking about sex or her breasts in any way.

The night was extremely cold with the rain, and the floor of the cave was quite wet. Ten-Ten was shivering, her clothes were soaked, so she was really cold as night hit. Neji wrapped his arms around her under the blanket, making sure she was warm. Ten-Ten enjoyed feeling his hard body, almost chiseled from his intense training over the years. She shakily traced a finger around his arms, he groaned a bit, “I told you Ten-Ten, I’m not looking for love,” he said sharply. “Neji, it’s always good to have love in your life,” she said sweetly, still shivering from the cold. Neji looked at her now much paler skin, he knew she was starting to get hypothermia; this made him take his robes and wrap them around her body. She started crying and hugged him, “I’m so sorry Neji, I don’t want you to be cold too,” she was losing it a little, but was quickly comforted when he hugged her tightly. She continued to cry, he was completely frustrating her, she almost wanted to hit him and yell at him for acting like such a jerk. *It figures he’d act like that, he doesn’t really care about anything,* she thought, still crying into his arms. She felt her hair being untied from her large buns on top of her head, and Neji smiled a little, “you know, I think your hair looks good without being tied up.” He gently brushed his hand through her hair, and she looked right at him, still sobbing a little bit as he smiled more. Ten-Ten was still in tears as her long black hair fell to her hips, and she swore to Kami that she saw Hyuga Neji blush a little. “Neji…?” she looked so confused, wondering if she really was just seeing things. “Well, we better get to bed,” he said, and she nodded, resting her head and falling asleep on the man she loved.

She eyes weakly opened, “…g-good morning, Ne…” was all she said before passing out, her hypothermia had gotten much worse. Neji quickly activated the Byakugan, he saw that the rain had stopped outside, and that Ten-Ten was no longer breathing, however her heart was weakly beating. Without thinking, he started to perform mouth to mouth, pushing his own breath into her lungs. After a few moments, her chest expanded and contracted, and he checked with his Byakugan to see that she was, in fact, breathing again. She opened her eyes again, looking at the still horrified Hyuga man, “are you okay Neji?” She asked. Neji froze for a second, he was so scared when he thought that she was going to die, “Ten-Ten, you stopped breathing, I had to perform CPR,” was all he could say. Ten-Ten smiled weakly and moved closer to Neji, wrapping her arms around his neck for support, “well, maybe I should return the favor,” she said, kissing him softly on the lips. Neji was going to fight it, but his fear of losing her was too much, and he slowly wrapped his arms around her back, pulling her closer.
They were holding each other and kissing for what seemed like hours, when they heard the rocks moving and stopped. Neji quickly grabbed his robes and she curled under the blanket, as a large boulder was tossed aside. “Oi! Ten-Ten, Neji-san,” Rock Lee said, smiling at the too when he saw they were ok, and they saw Gai right behind him, clearing out the debris. “Hello Lee, Gai-sensei,” Neji calmly sighed. “Do you have food?” she asked him weakly, and Lee nodded, “I brought a “Curry of Life” for both of you.” Ten-Ten looked even sicker when he said that, but Neji said to her “I’ll eat half if you eat half,” she smiled and nodded, “Alright fine.” After they ate the intensely hot meal, Team Gai set off for Konoha, Lee carrying Ten-Ten’s stuff and Neji carrying her while she was wrapped in the blanket.

Ten-Ten walked over to the Hyuga Compound, wondering what Neji was going to say. She had been in the hospital since they came back, since she was in need of some treatment from the lack of heat in her body. She knocked on his room’s door, and she heard him say enter. Neji was looking out of his bedroom window as she walked in, “Hi, you wanted to talk to me?” she asked politely. “Are you sure you want to be in love with an angry, stuck-up bastard Hyuga like me?” he asked quite promptly, and she blushed crimson. “Yes Neji, I love you very much,” she responded, and he sighed a little, *oh Kami, not this crap again,* she thought to herself. “I will let Hiashi know about this, I will request some time off so we can go on a date or something, and you can spend the night here if you wish,” he paused for only a second, and her eyes widened. “And also, there’s this…” he said, turning around and passionately kissing her on the lips, and all she could do was melt into his arms. She snuggled with him tightly as the kiss broke, and Neji blushed too, thinking about how much this meant to him.

(This is a short chapter on the beginning of this relationship. I know it seems kinda lame in comparison to my other stories, however, I figure it’s a better way to tell this story. If you feel I should write another chapter to this, feel free to let me know, savvy?)
