Naruto stares at the slim band of silver on his ring finger and allows himself a small smile before slipping it back into the display case.
02 Hero
The first time Naruto failed to save a friend Gaara held him and whispered that, rather than saving everyone, a true hero is someone who makes the living want to live.
03 Memory
Gaara’s most cherished memory isn’t becoming the Kazekage or even his first kiss, but Naruto’s warm, careless fingers brushing against his accidentally and feeling his heart race for the first time.
04 Box
The Kazekage enjoys watching Uzumaki box not because he fights a good battle, but because it is the only time he fights without a shirt.
05 Run
When Naruto finds his answer in Sasuke’s cold, black eyes he is running before his teammate can say another word—running to tell Gaara before it is too late.

Naruto prides himself on his reputation as “the hurricane,” but here, entangled in Gaara’s limbs, he discovers the eyes of the storm are green.

Uzumaki was never one to be afraid of the unknown and so it is no surprise that when Gaara finds himself uncomfortably close, uncomfortable because of the feelings that emerge, that it is Uzumaki who presses forward first, pressing warm lips against his own curious mouth.

Gaara carries it with him always, tucked away in a small silk pouch like a charm, or amulet, around his neck, taking it out only in the winter months and cheerless days when he unwraps the precious article carefully and imagines he can still smell the sunshine on a single lock of golden hair.
