"Yo, Iruka-sensei." Greeted Kakashi-Sensei as he appeared in a puff of smoke for his new mission.

"Hello Kakashi-sensei." Iruka greeted back as he looked through a pile of scrolls for Kakashi's new mission. "Here it is." He said with victory as he finally found what he was looking for.

"A protection mission in the Rock country?" He said in a monotone as he read over his mission.

"Yes. Apparently the head family have been receiving threats ever since they passed a new law over there." The hokage answered.

"I'm guessing this isn't something that there ninja can handle."

"I'm afraid not. Normally I wouldn't send one of our best ninja out in that area but by there letter it sounded like they were in desperate need of our help."

"I see. When do I leave?"

"You leave tomorrow, bright and early. The sooner you can get there the better."

"Yes Ma'am." With that said, Kakashi left the hokages office in a puff of smoke.

The rest of the day was very simple for Iruka-sensei. Most of the missions for today were for jounin, so not of lot people came by the hokages office, except for Shizune.. Iruka couldn't help but feel sorry for lady Tsunade as Shizunae came with a big pile of paper work for her to do.

It was around 7:00 PM when the last scroll for the day was passed out. He gathered what ever paper work that needed to be done and decided to head toward Ichiraku. It's been a while since he's had the time to actually sit down and enjoy a bowl of ramen. With summer break coming to an end, it was time for him to start getting ready with his new class of genin. Which left him with a lot of paper work to go through.

"Welcome to Ichiraku's!" He was greeted as he sat down and ordered. Coming here always reminded him of coming here with Naruto. Sadly Naruto wasn't here to join his Sensei and was off on a mission. After paying for his meal, Iruka headed home.

"Ugh I'm tired." He groaned as he stared at the pile of paper work that he brought home. Normally he didn't mind doing paper work but after spending a whole day writing mission scrolls, he didn't want to even look at his own name written on paper. "Might as well finish it in the morning." Iruka striped down and change into his nightgown and decided to call it a day.

"Iruka, I need you to hand this to Kotetsu." Said Shizune as she handed him some paper work. Iruka grabbed the paper work and proceeded to Kotetsu office, only to find him not there.

"Huh, that's weird. He's usually here."

"Ah...don't tease me like that!" Iruka looked around the office to find that the voice was coming from the room across from him. "P-please...more." He heard someone moan out. Not thinking about what he was walking into, Iruka opened the door to find Izumo sitting on a desk with his legs wide open, shirt up, and Kotetsu sucking on one of his nipples, while his fingers pleasured the other one. Iruka's faced turned different shades of red as he realized that he walked in a very intimate moment between the two lovers.

"O-oh god I'm sorry!" He stammered out as he closed the door quickly and proceed to walk back to his desk. That was something new to him. I mean sure he knew about how the ninjas felt about each other. In fact, Iruka was the one who encouraged Kotetsu to admit his feelings to Izumo, but he certainly wasn't ready to walk in to that. He face was still flushed and his heart was still beating rapidly as he sat back down at his desk.

'Breathe in, breathe out.' He said to himself as he tried to clear the images from his head.

"Hello, Iruka." Iruka yelped as fell out his chair from Kakashi's sudden appearance. "Wow are you ok?"

"Y-yeah, I'm ok. Sorry I wasn't paying attention. My mind was somewhere else."

"I see. Well here you go." Kakashi handed Iruka a scroll.

"You finished with your mission in the rock country already?" He asked as he expected the ninja to be gone for a while.

"Yeah. The threat to the family was made by nothing more than a bunch of bandits." He said as he pulled out his Icha Icha Paradise(hope thats how you spell it) book and proceeded to pick up where he last stopped. "It wasn't anything I couldn't handle in a day."

"Interesting. Well its good to have you back and unharmed." Iruka said with a smile as he took the scroll from him.

With his report turned in, Kakashi walked out of his office and decided to enjoy a nice walk home. Usually he would just poof himself home but today he wasn't in the mood to poof. He was almost home when his stomach growled out. Not really in the mood to cook, he decided to have a bowl of ramen.

"Hello again Kakashi-sensei." The white haired man turned around to see Iruka walk in.

"Finish with work?" Asked Kakashi as he attempted to make small talk with the chunin.

"For now." He moaned as dreaded doing more paper work.

They sat and chatted for a little while as they both ate there ramen together. It never stopped to amaze Iruka on how Kakashi was able to eat his food without showing his true face. How he managed to do that was a mystery to him. Even though they were done with there meal, they stayed and continued to chat. Seeing how it was getting late, the two ninjas payed for there meal and started to head home. Iruka didn't live to far from where most of the jonin stay at. In a way, Kakashi walked the chunin home as he waved good-bye to him. Seeing that he was safe in his own home, Kakashi started to head home. He doesn't really know why, but he was in a good mood. To be honest, Kakashi was in a bad mood when he returned home from the rock country. Although he was able to complete his mission, he wasn't able to complete it unless he killed the enemy. Sure he's killed before but this certain enemy left a burden on him. This was something he couldn't forget.
"I need some sleep." He yawned as he decieded to forget about his mission.

"GOOD MORNING WORTHY RIVAL!" Chirped Gai as he dropped in on Kakashi who was reading his book at the training grounds. Kakashi didn't have any more missions for a good a while and on the days he didn't have them, he would use them to train. He was taking a break when the cheerful jounin dropped in on him.

'Here we go again.' He said to himself as he closed his book and prepared himself for a ridiculous and outrageous challenge from Gai.

"What do you say to a race around the entire village Kakashi?"

"Uh can't we just do something simple?" He groaned.

"Nonsense! A race between two of the greatest ninja's in the village is a great way to display our spirit of youth!"

"Can't we just do a simple game of checkers or something?"

"Fine then. Since it was my last time to pick, It's your turn to pick our challenge. What shall we do Kakashi? A weight lifting contest? Push-ups? Or a swimming challenge?"

"Let's just keep it simple. How about a staring contest?"

"A staring contest huh? So be it then, worthy rival! A staring contest we shall have! If I fail, I shall have to do 600 laps around the entire village."

"Huh?!?! Why do you have to go and do that? Can't we ever just have a friendly competition?"

"Sorry Kakashi, but i guess you can say its my ninja way! No then, prepare yourself!"

A few moments later....

"NO! I LOST!" The battle hadn't even lasted for more than 2 minutes when Gai blinked and lost the fight. Before Kakashi could even say anything to cheer his friend up, the jumpsuit wearing ninja darted off and proceed to do his laps. Tired of training, Kakashi figured that was enough for one day and decided to take another walk. It was a nice bright and summer day, most of the kids were running about in the city, enjoy the last bit of there summer before it was time for them to attend the academy. Not really having any particular place to go, Kakashi found himself at the academy. It was empty, no one really had the need to be here since school was out. Walking over to the swing that's been there since he was a kid, he decided to take a seat and continued to read his book.

"Aren't you a little old for that thing?" Joked Iruka as he walked up to the masked ninja. Hearing the others voice, Kakashi looked up from his page and gave Iruka a small smile.

"Sorry Sensei." Joked Kakashi as he got up from the swing and put his book away for another time.

"What are you doing here anyway, Kakashi-sensei?" Asked Iruka as him and Kakashi started to head inside.

"Nothing really. Just thought I'd take a walk and next thing you know I'm on a swing."

"I see." The chunin chuckled.

"So what are you doing here?" Asked Kakashi as he repeated the chunin's question. "Class doesn't start for another 3 weeks."

"It doesn't but there's something I have to pick up before I go to the hokage's office." Having nothing really to do, Kakashi decided to stay with the chunin. After finding what he was looking, Kakashi and Iruka walked to the hokage's office. They continued there conversation and started to enjoy each others company.

"Hey Iruka the hokage needs you to sign some papers." Said Kotetsu as he walked in the room.

"I should let you get to work. See you later." Kakashi waved good-bye as he disappeared in a poof of smoke.

"Huh...I didn't realize you and Kakashi-sensei were seeing each other."

"We're not!" Blushed Iruka.

"No need to get defensive, I was just saying. Although you two really make a good couple." Kotetsu laughed as he wondered how much redder he could make the chunin.

"Are you finished? Cause I have work I need to do." The spikey haired ninja grabbed the signed paper work and left the brunette.

'Me and Kakashi-sensei together? Nope, don't think about it!' He blushed as he tried to get work.

Yay first chapter done!!! *applause* thank you thank you! I must admit that i had a tough time with this chapter. I didn't know how to start the story off. But anyway...let me know what you think of it so far. onward to chapter 2!!!!
