Have mercy on us

Have mercy on us

Has he laid there, on the verge of death, searing pain shooting up from his leg to his chest, Sasuke could only watch in awed that blond angel with those dark grey wings. He would have called himself delusional if not for the fact that he had already met him twelve years ago, when he was a scared thirteen years old boy watching over his dying mother. Oh yes he certainly remembered the first time his eyes fell on such a sigh, engraving in his mind the way his mother, in a last breath, expulsed all ache and died in her sleep, a small peaceful smile resting on her dry lips.

Now he saw him again as he observed tons of other people, screaming, crying, praying and suffocating all around him. He watched as the blond man spread his wings between the rests of the blazing plane and started crying as the sound gradually ceased. A golden aura enveloped him, his grey feathers slowly whitening as his face contorted in pain. It was the same expression as he had absorbed the pain his mother was suffering for months due to cancer. People around him exhaled their last breath, their soul lightened, their body numbed.

He couldn’t suppress the tremor that racked his body as two endless blue eyes bored into his. He had never experienced something as such, all those emotions, pains, cries so mixed together that no one could determine where they began and ended. Those eyes were suffocating, prisoner. Those eyes were screaming for freedom that was never granted.

He gasped as the blond man advanced towards him, his steps as imperceptible as a ghost, as if he was floating. His bloodied lips opened slightly, as if he wanted to say something that would alleviate the pain in those sky eyes. But nothing came.

“Life for me Uchiha Sasuke!”

Golden muscled arms encircled his shaking shoulders as two less grey than before wings spread enveloping him a comforting cocoon. A blond mane nested in his neck and silent tears soaked his dirtied skin. His eyes widened when he realized his injuries were healing enough to not be dangerous anymore, the pain slowly disappearing. However, the feathers darkened, seeming much heavier. He couldn’t help but think that man would not be able to fly anymore. How would he reach heaven if his wings were rotten?

His temple was kissed and he saw nothing but dark.

He slowly regained consciousness as he blinked several times, the whiteness blinding him and the constant beeping redeeming him deaf. A looming figure shadowed his face from the rays of light. “Sa… ke, … suke, Sasuke, are you alright? Do you feel any pain? Should I get a doctor? Sasuke, answer me?”

The figure he has finally identified has his brother was shaking him nearly ferociously. “If you don’t stop soon Itachi, the doctors will have to add brain damage to the injuries.” Another voiced from the void.

He carefully turned his head towards the source, being aware of his splitting headache. “Aniki, Madara-oji-san, what are you doing here? What happen?”

Worry shadowed a pair of dark brown eyes. “Don’t you remember, Otouto? The plane crashed, it was unable to land correctly on the slippery track. It’s a miracle your okay, Sasuke, you’re the sole passenger of the first class who has survived. The doctor said you may need physiotherapy. You’ve broken your leg pretty badly.”

“How…”

“More than two hundreds victims.” The light tone Madara used angered Sasuke. How could he talk so casually about such a tragedy? His brother exited the room, saying the doctor need to be aware of his awakening.

Madara waited until the door correctly closed before directing a taunting smirk to the bed ridden raven. “Miracle, tsk! No one will believe what you saw Sasuke. Just like your father didn’t.” His eyes widened in disbelief.

How?

Seven months after the crash, Sasuke was finally able to walk freely, no more enslaved by those crutches. He was currently driving towards the child hospital were his godson was resting. They had diagnosed leukemia three months ago and the chemotherapy wasn’t a success, far from it.

As he entered the impersonal room, he saw the mother of the kid, sleeping in a cramped chair beside the bed. She hadn’t left the hospital for nearly two weeks now, switching between her job as an intern and watching over her precious son.

He gently shook her shoulder. “Sakura, go sleep in an empty bed, I will stay. Running on coffee won’t do you any good.” A tired nod was all he received as he took the free chair.

The last rays of light were piercing the half closed curtains. They illuminated golden hair making it look like threads of the finest gold. As a tan hand was advancing towards a hot forehead, a white one latched on his wrist, stopping him in his task. Surprises eyes bored into his.

“Save him, please, he doesn’t deserve to die.”
“Why should I? Many deserved to life at that time.”
“I don’t want to see you cry again.”
“I don’t cry because I kill. I cried because they were.”

A soothing energy enveloped the room, comforting all occupants. The child’ breath evened out, the thumping of his heart becoming more audible and stronger regulating the machines.

A sad smile responded to his thanks. Fallen feathers startled him. They were coated in blood.

He stayed more and more at the public library wanting to know more about that angel, but finding nothing. He had consulted all the books on paranormal, occultism, saints, legends, death, ghosts and what not, he even checked in the bible. NOTHING!

How could that be? His uncle had mentioned him. He was now reduced to the newspaper, hoping someone had miraculously survived a tragedy has he did. Unsuccessful until he found that little column in a two hundreds years old archive.

Mystic Resurrection
Uchiha Madara who has been declared dead two days prior to this article has risen up from his coffin, startling all the people assisting his funerals. The surprise even killed one of the guests, a certain Uzumaki Naruto who died from a heart attack.

He left in a hurry, not even bothering to use his car. He ran all the way down to his uncle’s house. He barged in; however it was like Madara was expecting him.

“So you find out. Took you more time than I thought.” On such words the barrel of a gun was pointed at him.

“What’s going on?” Sasuke took a step back as his uncle took one forward; they continued until his back it the wall. He was trapped with a senile psycho.

“Why did you lie to me when I told you he help mom, saying I was crazy and convincing my father to send me to that overseas school?”

“Your soul was too weak; it wouldn’t have lasted long enough.”

“You saw him; that angel resurrected you!”

“He did resurrected me, but he was no angel. He was a little idiot I sweet talked into professing his love to me, giving me his life eternally. He made a contract with me, his life for my life. He was a great fuck too. I made a pack with the devil; I was to be immortal if I send to him the purest souls, like that Uzumaki, those children on the plane or even that godson of yours. But he had to be too fucking perfect; empathizing with everyone, pitying me who had everything. He became a fucking angel of mercy, cursed to reach heaven once his wings will be as pure as his heart. If he reached Heaven I’m doomed.”

“You’re insane!”

“Maybe, but you won’t life long enough to tell anyone.” He closed tightly his eyes as the sound of the shot deafened him. When he felt no pain, he carefully opened one, the second following shortly behind. His uncle was sprawled on the floor, his feature deformed in rage and madness. The blond angel was before him, his wings heavily bleeding.

“Uzumaki!” Madara roared as he shot a second time, striking the winged man in the right shoulder. Surprisingly, the angel was really hurt by the action, more feathers falling to the ground. The gun was cocked a third time; he was going to kill him.

Two things happened at the same time. The older Uchiha fired as the younger yell the name of the white dressed man. “NARUTO!”

His wings fully stretched, as white as the pure snow. A powerful aura coming out of him in waves sending his uncle against the opposite wall of the room. His arm rose, palm directed to the fallen man. “You will experience all the pain you have caused, beg for mercy all you want, you little demon feels no empathy.”

The man he wasn’t so sure anymore he should call uncle, writhed on the floor, his body shaken from powerful tremors, his voiced screaming agony. His flesh burned, his bone turning to ashes. A sudden wind played with the curtains and scattered everywhere around the room the brown dirt soling the last place Madara stood.

Sasuke turned his sight on Naruto who was softly glowing. He searched for his eyes and his heart warmed as they crossed his. They were full of laughter and joy, reminding of a new sky after a heavy rain, when the dark clouds disappear and you rediscover the sight of what was hidden for so long. He than smiled at him making his blue eyes glistened in unnamed emotions. He was finally free.

As the other began his ascension towards his final destination, Sasuke felt as if his soul was ripped in two, a part of him shredding, the part who loved life more than anything, the part he started to listen to after his accident, the part saying that it will be okay.

He didn’t know why, but he could not bear loosing this man. “Don’t go, I love you, dobe!”

Yes, Uchiha Sasuke had life for him. But he would prefer to live with him. A daunting smirk quirked his lips as white wings vanished in a flash of light and a blond man thumped on the floor. “That was uncalled for teme!” The now mortal blond man said as he rubbed his butt.

He didn’t reply but caught a pair of fresh lips with his own. He tasted the sun, the dew and the new day. He was sure heaven wasn’t as sweet as that.

Little sweet story I was inspired for as I listen to Enrique Iglesias’ song Hero.

Short but I think it is really good, don’t you think so? (Subtle way to obtain reviews, ; ) )

For all those who read my others stories, do not fear, I will update, one day.

Now that all have been said, review.
