“What do you know about me, with no siblings or parents?! You were alone from the start! What the hell do you know?! Hun?! I suffer because of the bonds I once had! You don’t know what it’s like to loose everything like that!”
“Then teach me Sasuke....teme...teach me your pain.” The words were spoken by those sad lips, as Sasuke paused. He was running away from Konoha, to turn his back on the village he knew to go to Orochimaru, and here was his only true friend, who was trying to get him back no matter what the costs.
“Naruto... there’s no way for me to teach you things like this... so go home.” He said, about to turn away when Naruto lunged forward and hugged him from behind, for one instant binding them together like that. One perfect instant, being held and holding on they blended together into one.
“Neh, Sasuke... I think someone who can’t save their best friend, isn’t fit to become Hokage. What do you think?” The fox asked as he held the raven close to him. Thankfully, Naruto was holding Sasuke from behind, and couldn’t see the tears starting to form in his eyes.
Naruto was giving him a chance for happiness, something few ever tried to do but he just couldn’t take it. He had to get revenge before happiness, this wonderful blissful happiness he felt with Naruto. The feeling of holding their bodies close in an intimate embrace in the middle of the night, where no one could see them... The feelings of protecting one another in battle, just for the sake of caring deeply enough to risk the feeling of darkness forever...
They were two sides to a coin, but... the feelings of pain and revenge were splitting the coin in half, as Sasuke shoved Naruto back and away from him and said words he had never wanted to say.
“Take your ass and find another guy to fill it. I’m done toying around with you Naruto..” Sasuke began to walk again, knowing he had broken his tender dobe’s heart in half right then, and that was hurting more then anything Sasuke had felt before.
“Sasuke.... I don’t believe you mean that... you can’t...” Naruto’s voice was enough to break Sasuke’s heart, he couldn’t even make himself look back at him, to see the tears rolling down his face.
“Of course I do you baka. Pretty lies made you submit easily to what I wanted to do to you, but I’m done playing. Goodbye.” For the first time, Naruto showed a fierce agression towards Sasuke as he tackled him around the waist, and made both of them fall off the cliff, rolling along the side of it until they slammed into the water at the base of it.
Both of them were stunned by hitting the water, as they floated further from the surface towards the bottom of it... Sasuke turned in Naruto’s grip, both holding onto one another as they kept floating down to the bottom of the lake....
Their lips pressed together in a tender caress, an apology and an acceptance. They let their hands find familiar holds, Sasuke’s shoulders and Naruto’s hips... as Naruto’s back pressed into the mud of the bottom of that lake...
They stayed like that a long moment, everything suspended floating around them as Sasuke finally understood they both needed air, and with Naruto in his arms, kicked off the ground of the bottom, and shot up to find the pair on the side of the lake, where hard, wet stones awaited their actions.
Sasuke kissed Naruto’s tired eyes closed, and fixed their clothing as he held the other one close to him. The one who had his heart...and the one he would set aside his desire for Revenge for...
