Tadaima

Kiki-Chan: Oh, I am so excited. My very first site published fanfic. *jumps up and down like the retard I am* Yay! There's a little Sakura bashing so if you actually like her... too bad.
For the most part, everyone will be mostly in character. However, take Sasuke for example. On the outside he's stoic. But on the inside, who knows what the hell he's thinking.
Last, I will totally accept flame reviews. I live for that kind of stuff. So do your best guys, okay? Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy. =D

"Tadaima"

Sasuke resisted the urge to slow his footsteps as the large gates of Konohagakure loomed into view over the canopy of the lush forest. Cursed as the name may be, he was still a Uchiha and Uchihas don't hesitate (or at the very least, show hesitation).

A mile later, the hustle and bustle became apparent to the keen ears of the dark haired ninja. After all, it was only five in the evening and the sun still had time to linger before setting completely. Still, despite his best efforts, a scowl appeared as the ANBU next to him, the captain, sighed in content pleasure. There were only two of them left. Normally, a platoon consisted of four highly skilled shinboi and kunoichi, but the two Sasuke had put to eternal rest in rapid succession had either been incompetent, or rookies.

The blonde ANBU and the pink haired one had managed to survive not only his onslaught of degrading insults, but his techiniques too and still found a way to slap chakra cuffs onto pale wrists.

Sasuke gave a bitter mental smirk. Ironic.

The raven haired teenager stumbled on the last branch they flew over, the poison still working it's way out of his system. It figured the pink haired bitch would manage to find a way to get a senbon needle in as he and the other dumbass leveled a ten mile radius around them.

Sasuke internalized a weary sigh and ignored a deep voice to his right whispering behind a fox mask, "Tadaima."

The pale teenager stood in the dark kitchen, bare chest heaving as he gripped the clear glass of water. He couldn't swallow, memories too close to the surface in the presence of this house. Sasuke had always hated this house, even before the murder of anyone he had remotely cared for. There had been no love for him here.

The avenger turned and walked out into the backyard where a dead garden--his mother's garden--fought weeds for space. Out here was only slightly better for his peace of mind, if such a thing existed.

He'd been back for a year and some months now, back in the house, back in the village he'd abandoned years before. He'd spent months in the ANBU Isolation Cells, refusing to speak or to break visibly. Sasuke repressed a shudder when he began to remember the things they'd forced him to-

Sasuke shook his head to clear the nausea. The only reason he'd talked was because of an injected serum.

Fuck the Nara Clan and their genius concoctions.

After that, the trial itself had been a joke. The Council of Dipshits had been so eager to have a Sharingan baby making machine back in their midst, they'd forgiven him of all his treachery on the basis that he'd been young and foolish, easily misled by the evil Sannin, And after all, he'd killed the man, hadn't he? He couldn't have been all bad.

Insulting, ignorant assholes. Sasuke wondered what they would have said in order to get Itachi back.

The teenager sat on the edge of the wooden porch, recalling as the old bastards had said the village had thought him to be kidnapped, and didn't hold him in contempt. No doubt the work of the council.

Sasuke remembers telling them to either go fuck themselves and die or execute him. They'd ignored both requests.

And so here he was, holed up in his childhood house (never a home), not that he was hiding. He just didn't feel like going out to face the villagers and the shinobi (who no doubt, along with him, wished he had been executed). Besides, he wasn't allowed any missions and even with the chakra cuffs dulling his senses, he could still feel the hidden aura of the ANBU that watched him in 'secret'.

If the Godaime had had it her way, the Uchiha would never get off probation. She'd said as much with a sneer on her face to boot. Not that Sasuke cared. He rolled his eyes because he knew exactly why she hated his very existence.

Naruto. Sasuke's eyes narrowed as he recalled her warning to stay away from the blonde, to not interfere with his new life, that when, not if, he hurt him again, his life was forfeit.

Sasuke set the half empty glass down on the porch and leaned back onto his hands as he stretched limber legs out in front of him.

It wasn't like he wanted to see the blonde anyway. And it wasn't like he'd seen him since he'd--admittedly--dragged him back as he'd promised Sakura. And so what if the dark haired boy hadn't come out of the compound (except when necessary, i.e. food) since he'd heard two little old women gossiping about how nice it was that the Uzumaki boy and the Haruno girl were dating, and after all, the blonde boy had been alone for so long, ne, Kyoko?

No, Sasuke didn't care. Not one bit.

He didn't bother to cover up the sneer as he stood. Leaving the glass forgotten in the dark, he stalked off in the general direction of the Uchiha training grounds. Even if the chakra cuffs kept him from accessing his freakish amount of chakra (and in turn, his Sharingan), he could still work on his taijutsu.

After, Sasuke would be getting no sleep tonight.

Kiki-Chan: I think that was a decent sized first chapter. I've already started on the second, so you can look forward to that (unless you hate the story). But yeah, I'm feeling proud of myself. Review if you please. =D
