Possessive (for msuzimaki)

This is for msuzimaki who suggested that the little snippet of Possessive form ‘Ibiki 100 Themes’ be a full one-shot. So here is this hot mess. *cries* I made Ibiki into this evil, cruel, and manipulative…thing. But I still love him. *clings to Ibiki plush* I hope you do to.

Wow...I am so totally not drawing any of this from personal experiences *shakes head* nope…not at all *shifty eyes* So, for some who think this can’t happen in real life…it can and does, unfortunately -_- It was kind of neat to write this…kind of liberating. Brought up an issue I needed to work with, but I was able to use that experience to bring an element of reality to the fic.

So just some warnings about this one-shot: can be a little dark in some spot. A lot of abuse. No sex…what? Yeah, I know…I’m usually pretty good about putting it in…but this one wasn’t feeling it. Oh, and its un-beta'd...sorry.

Possessive (for msuzimaki)

Kotetsu finished up the last of his work at the mission table. Looking over to the empty seat where his friend used to sit with him, Kotetsu wondered where Izumo had been in the last week or so. Izumo hadn’t filed for any vacation time and hadn’t been sent on any missions that he was aware of.

Kotetsu sat in his chair in deep thought about where the time had gone, and where his life long friend might be at that particular moment in time.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Izumo’s hands were cuffed to the cold table limiting his mobility. Ibiki walked around the dark room, coming in and out of the single overhead lights’ radius. The down casted shadows accented Ibikis’ already hard set features.

Izumo lifted his head to glance around the concrete room. How could this have happened? This was a misunderstanding!

Izumo sniffled, trying hard to hold back his tears. “I promise it, it wo-won’t happen again.” He stammered out. He placed his head back on the table, shutting his eyes to the reality around him. ‘This isn’t happening. This is a bad dream!’ he continued to tell himself.

Ibiki paused in his pacing. “It won’t happen again, what?”

Izumo began to sob softly. Ibiki’s patients were wearing thin. Slamming his hands on the table near Izumo’s head broke him of his blubbering.

“It-won’t-happen-again-master!” Izumo shouted quickly as his body sat straight up.

Ibiki smiled. “Good. Glad we have an understanding. See to it that it doesn’t. I would hate to have to bring you back here to get acquainted with the other aspects of my job.” Ibiki said coolly. He pulled the keys from his pocket and released Izumo’s wrists from the cuffs.

Izumo let his head slump to the table top, trying to stop his body from its involuntary shaking. Ibiki placed his hand on Izumo’s back, noting how tense the man had become.

“Shh, shh. There, there koishii. Now it’s over. All over. Just don’t disappoint me again, okay? Nothing to be afraid of.” Ibiki offered soothing words, but they fell on deaf ears. Izumo had retreated so far into his inner mind; he was completely oblivious to the outside world.

Ibiki had managed to convince Izumo’s body to stand and embrace him as they rocked slowly back and forth. “Mine, all mine.” Ibiki whispered as his hands soothed circles on Izumo’s back.

Staring off into space, Kotetsu completely missed Iruka calling his name. It wasn’t until the teacher had shook his shoulder did he realize he had been day dreaming.

“Kotetsu, you alright?” Iruka asked with concern.

“Hmm? Oh yeah, just thinking about stuff.”

“I know. That’s why I asked if you were okay.” Iruka jabbed with a smile.

Kotetsu held his hand to his heart feigning injury. “What? Can’t a man think to himself in peace?” he asked.

“Sure. If it’s anyone besides you, bird-brains.” Iruka shot off another low blow.

“Ouch man, just ouch.” Kotetsu laughed until he remembered what he was thinking about. “Hey Iruka-sensei. Have you heard anything about where Izumo has been posted? I haven’t seen him in a while, and was getting a little worried.”

Iruka shifted his weight and placed a hand on his hip in a thinking manor. “You know, I haven’t seen him around for a while. Oh, you know what? Just remembered. I got a letter from the Hokage that said I should reschedule all his operative duties for a while. Something about sick leave? Not sure.”

Kotetsu frowned. “Oh, okay. I hope it’s nothing serious.”

“I don’t think it is. Plus, the Hokage herself would see to it that he is up and back at his posts soon, right? Now come on. Let’s go meet my better half at the bar. You look like you need a drink.” Iruka offered.

“Yeah, better half is a rather loose term these days.” He smiled as it was his turn to make a poke.

“You leave Kakashi out of this or I will sic his nin-kin on you.” Iruka laughed.

Kotetsu raised his hands in defense. “Okay, okay, you win. Let’s get this over with. I need a hard drink!”

Grabbing their book bags and stacks of completed work, the two managed to file what they needed, and left the mission room to the next shift of desk nin, making a b-line straight for the bar.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Wondering down the path almost aimlessly, Kotetsu headed towards the gate for his morning shift. He was excited because he was scheduled to be with Izumo. He couldn’t wait to talk with his buddy who he hadn’t seen in a long while. Coming up to the bridge, he spotted a familiar sight.

“Hey you!” he called out.

Kakashi barley moved his eye to distinguish who called him. Going back to his readings, he waited for Kotetsu to walk closer.

“Great time at the bar the other night, eh? Did you, uh, manage to get Iruka home ‘safely’?” he snickered and waggled his eyebrows, remembering how intoxicated, and horny, Iruka was that night.

An almost inaudible laugh came from behind the mask. “Ah yes. I had to teach that naughty kitten a thing or two.” He laughed. Then added, “Speaking of teaching lessons,” Kakashi’s voice lost his joking manor, and a serious air came between them. Kakashi even closed his book to give the other man his full attention. “Have you heard the latest?” Kakashi asked while observing Kotetsu’s curious head shake. “Rumor has it, that Izumo started dating Ibiki.”

Kotetsu took a step back, his face set in mild shock. “Really? I haven’t heard anything. Mind you, I haven’t seen the guy in a couple weeks now.” He stopped to reflect on the new information. “But how did you come across this. I’m like his bestest friend. I would have been the first to know.” Kotetsu added.

Kakashi shifted his position a little on the bridge railing. “Ah yes, but you’ve heard the kinds of things Ibiki is capable of.” Kakashi paused his thought to jump off the rail and stand beside Kotetsu. He placed a hand on the nins’ shoulder before continuing. “Has the thought that maybe Izumo isn’t allowed to tell you crossed your mind?”

Kotetsu was about to protest the absurdity of the thought when he realized the copy-nin had deserted him. Feeling a little unsure and confused, Kotetsu dragged his feet as he tried to walk and think at the same time.

Arriving at the gate desk, he saw an absence that pained his heart. ‘Where are you Izumo? I hope you’re all right.’ he thought.

Kotetsu’s work around the village kept his mind occupied. Being one of the Hokage’s lackeys had its perks and drawbacks. He made good money, but often worked into the wee hours.

Finally trudging into his apartment, he flopped on the sofa letting his arm cover his face. He threw his keys onto the side table, but missed and knocked over a picture frame. Rolling his eyes at his luck, he reluctantly left the comfort of the couch and picked out the fallen objects.

Looking at the photo in the frame, a frown spread across his face. It was a picture Iruka had taken of himself and Izumo. He had captured Izumo in a head lock and was proceeding to administer a good set of noogies to the other mans’ head. The laughter and joy captured in that picture seemed so far fetched now. When was the last time Kotetsu laughed?

Propping the frame up and placing the keys on the table respectively, Kotetsu made up his mind. He would go to Izumo’s apartment and find out for himself what was happening. Three months was long enough.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The following morning before setting off to the mission room, Kotetsu stopped by his friend’s apartment. After knocking several times with no replies, a neighbor poked his head out form

“Oh sorry Aoba, did I wake you?” Kotetsu asked.

“No, no worries. I have to leave for a mission in a few anyways. You looking for Izumo I presume?” Kotetsu nodded. “Sorry. He hasn’t been back to his apartment in a long while. But Morino has been in and out a few times. Word has it, he’s moved in with Morino on the south side of town.”

“Uh-huh.” Kotetsu chewed his lower lip a little. “Well thanks. I’ve got to get to work. Good luck with your mission.” Kotetsu waved as he leapt to the rooftops and headed for work.

A lull in the afternoon allowed Kotetsu to write a letter to Ibiki, asking if he could forward a message onto Izumo. In the scroll, he asked if the two of them wanted to head to the bar for a social drink, and to catch up on old times.

Reading it over a few times to make sure he wasn’t raising any flags in his urgency to meet with the other desk jockey, he nodded to himself and tied the rolled piece of paper up. Waving his hand, a messenger nin appeared and took the scroll from him.

‘There. It’s done.’ He said to himself to try and calm himself. But before he could think too much longer on it, a wave of gennin flooded the mission room with completed mission reports. This was going to be a long shift.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Ibiki looked at the scroll with a snarl. He hated public outings. Especially with people he didn’t know. He looked over at the couch and saw Izumo staring out the window.

“Hey love. You haven’t gone out in a while have you?” Ibiki asked.

Izumo turned his head in Ibiki’s direction, trying his hardest not to let his excitement show in his eyes.

“What would you say if I let you go visit your friend Hagane? Would you want to?” Ibiki asked.

Izumo held his breath, waiting for Ibiki to retract his offer, but after a few moments, Izumo smiled a little. He had to be cautious of how he answered. Too egar and Ibiki could deny him.

“Only if you think it would benefit me, I would like to go. Master.” Izumo said coolly.

Ibiki nodded. “Alright then. I want to see my koishii happy.” Ibiki stood and walked over to where Izumo sat. “But know this. I will be watching you. And at the first notion that you are betraying your love for me, I will step in to give you your punishment.” He whispered with a sharp tongue. He gave a quick peck to the top of Izumo’s head. “Got it?”

Izumo nodded; too happy that he was finally going to see his friend after so long!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Walking up to the bar in Ibiki’s tight embrace made Izumo rethink his decision. He wasn’t sure this was such a good idea anymore.

“Remember. I will be watching you.” Ibiki’s words lingered in his ear like acid. As he walked into the bar, he saw the familiar spiky hair of his friend. Walking through the crowd up to the bar, nervousness that he had been harboring surfaced and ate away at his insides.

Izumo sat down at the bar beside his long time friend Kotetsu, but made sure to leave a seat in between them. Kotetsu gave a side ways look, but ordered a bottle of sake regardless.

“So what is new with you? I haven’t seen you in ages! What has it been, three, four months now? I’ve missed you Zu.” Kotetsu said as he slipped into the seat next to his friend.

Izumo glanced over his shoulder, visible nervous.

“What’s wrong Zu. I haven’t seen you shake this bad since our chuunin exams.” Kotetsu placed the bottles on the bar counter and reached out a hand to turn Izumo to face him.

“Don’t touch me!” Izumo shrieked. Several people around the bar stopped to see what the scene was, but slowly drifted back into their own conversation.

“Izumo,” Kotesu made sure to use his full name to get the other man’s attention.

“It’s nothing. Really. Just, I need space is all, okay?” Izumo looked at the sake before placing a smile on his face. “We came here to drink. So let’s drink.” He tried to add excitement to his statement, but Izumo couldn’t even fool himself.

Kotetsu could see something was terribly wrong and needed to confirm the suspicions that he had.

“I heard that you started going out with Ibiki. Has that bastard hurt you? You aren’t yourself Zu.” Kotetsu stood from his chair to block Izumo’s blank stare out the front door.

“Kotetsu, please move.” Izumo stuttered out nervously.

“What? No! Not until you tell me what the hell is going on here!” Kotetsu demanded.

“Please!” Izumo begged. “I don’t want you to get hurt.” Came the barley audible whisper.

Kotetsu leaned in closer. “Say that again?” he cautiously asked.

“Too late punk.” A low angry voice rumbled from behind.

Kotetsu turned around in time to have his face connect with a very pissed off Ibiki fist. Kotetsu flew back into the bar behind him, knocking over his sake as well as a few other drinks. He reached one hand out to steady himself while his other clutched his broken and bleeding nose.

“What the hell man?!” Kotetsu fired off angrily. The other bar patriots who had decided to risk themselves and watch the drama unfold, hissed, knowing that Kotetsu had no chance against the head of Interrogations and Torture.

“I’m not sure where you get off touching my boyfriend, but you better stay the hell away from him. Got it?” Ibiki clutched Izumo’s right wrist in his massive left hand.

Kotetsu watched his friend stifled a sniffle of pain. He wasn’t going to let this stand any longer. “Is that a threat?”

“It’s a promise.” Ibiki yanked the smaller man possessively to his side as he turned to leave the bar.

Kotetsu’s anger blinded him as he leaped towards the scarred man, but before his fists could land a blow, two ANBU operatives grasped either arm and detained him.

Ibiki smiled ominously. “Take him to my guest quarters. I’ll deal with him once I remind someone who they belong to.”

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Pushing Izumo rather harshly, Ibiki managed to maneuver the man into a side alley down a ways from the bar. “Just what the hell was that all about? I let you go to the bar for one night, one night! And you managed to have some guy jumping all over you.” Ibiki twisted the arm he was holding and spun Izumo around so his front pressed up against the wall.

“Ow, Ibi-, ow, master! You’re hu-huting me!” Izumo cried out in panic.

“Am I not good enough for you? Do I not treat you well?” he continued to grill as he twisted upwards on the contorted wrist.

“Please, I’m begging you!” Izumo sobbed as pain wretched through his shoulder and wrist. “I can explain!” his voice breaking in-between sobs.

“Huh? What was that you maggot? I don’t even know why I grace you with love and affection.” Ibiki pulled up on the limb until a shocking pop sound was heard.

Izumo screamed in pain as nausea caught up to him, spilling his meager stomach contents down the wall and front of his shirt. He trembled as the pain seared throughout his body.

Ibiki grabbed hold of the slight man and formed the seals for the transport jutsu. The two reappeared in his bedroom, and Ibiki gently placed Izumo on the bed. Lovingly removing the others clothing, Ibiki left him momentarily to run the bath water.

Izumo curled onto his side and brought his painfully limp arm to cradle as he rocked in a fetal position on the bed.

Ibiki carefully pick Izumo up and took him to the tub. Washing the vomit off his face and chest, Ibiki also took a moment to wash the mans’ hair. Ibiki took great pride in his meticulous care, unaware of Izumo’s traumatized state.

Ibiki toweled off the nin and managed to find a pair of small enough pants to semi-fit the slighter man. After setting Izumo’s arm in a sling, the two lay side by side in the bed. Ibiki wrapped his arms around Izumo officiously, taking care though not to disrupt the dislocated shoulder.

“I don’t like having to be rough with you, koishii. I really don’t.” Ibiki whispered. “But you just can’t seem to see how much I love and care for you. And when you do things with other men, it just infuriates me! To know that I love you this much, and it’s like a back hand to the face seeing you fraternize with other men. I don’t like it. You are mine.”

Ibiki gave one last squeeze before settling up in a sitting position. “Now I have to go to work. I will be back in a few.” Ibiki grabbed a set of work clothes and got dressed. “I’ll bring a med nin with me for your shoulder at that time, but I want you to think about your actions tonight, alright? Love you koishii.”

Ibiki disappeared in a wisp of smoke. Izumo silently wept himself into exhaustion.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The two ANBU guards dropped Kotetsu into one of the interrogation rooms. Both operatives looked at each other and nodded, then one disappeared in a cloud of smoke. Seeing that they were alone, the one ANBU quickly rushed to aid Kotetsu.

“Oh man, you are so boned!! What were you thinking?” he asked Kotetsu behind the mask.

Kotetsu was feeling light headed from the previous blow and now the loss of blood. Looking into the mask, he had a funny feeling he knew the man under it.

“Ge-genma? Is that you?” he asked, a little unsure of himself. Kotetsu watched as he removed his mask. It looked odd to see Genma without his signature senbon rolling between his lips.

“Yeah, man. And boy howdy you got yourself in quite a pickle here.” He shook his head. “Ibiki is not known for taking lives of Konoha nin, but he will beat you within an inch of your life. You’ve got quite an adventure coming for you.” Genma explained with almost an air of amusement, but frowned nonetheless.

“Let me look at your face.” Genam instructed as he removed Kotetsu’s hand from his mangled nose. The bandage that ran across his face was probably the only thing keeping the bridge from collapsing inward. “Come on. I got to get you out of here before he returns.”

The sounds of heavy foot steps were heard and Gemna took a few steps back, replacing his mask in a fit position. “Oh shit dude.”

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Izumo laid in the bed, holding onto a pillow for dear life. It wasn’t even his pillow. It wasn’t even his bed. This wasn’t even his life any more. He was trapped. Caged. Possessed.

No more tears would fill his eyes. Izumo had become so numb without sensation he borderlined on the walking dead. ‘Walking dead.’ He mused to himself. It was more accurate then he cared to admit to.

He no longer cared that his individuality was seized by another. He no longer cared that his friends had all forgotten about him. He no longer cared if he lived or died, so long as it was Ibiki’s will. He would do it.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Tsunade didn’t even bother to summon the torture expert. She decided this was an instance were a personal drop in was needed.

“Ibiki. I had heard disturbing rumors about your personal life, but I chose to leave it be seeing as how it was you, and I would expect people to say such things. But the fact that you have removed not only one, but two able body ninja from my commission is too much! What the hell were you thinking?” she huffed.

“I don’t have to explain my actions or my personal life. I protect what’s mine.” Ibiki sat back in his chair and crossed his arms defensively.

“Ibiki! Kotetsu wasn’t breathing when he showed up at the hospital last night. I don’t think there was a bone in him that wasn’t broken! Genma was so afraid of what you would do to him once you found out it was him who brought Kotetsu to me that he wanted to go under Witness Protection and move to the far side of the Wind country! And Izumo, ha. I don’t even want to start with you on the psychological damage you have done to him. We’ll be lucky if he ever talks again.”

Ibiki’s eyes darted to meet Tsunade’s. “You have Izumo? At the hospital? How did he get there? Why is he there? I was taking good care of him!” Ibiki stood, taking a few steps closer to the busty woman. “Izumo pledged his love to me. We are inseparable. He is mine!” Ibiki bellowed.

Ibiki dove to strangle the Hokage, but several ANBU operatives managed to dive in front of the impending attack and slip chakra reducing cuff onto the irate man. Tsunade was able to pick herself up and brush herself off before looking at the once proud man. Shaking her head and narrowing her eyes, she gave a final order to her men.

“Put him in a cell. I’ll deal with him later”

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Kotetsu was eventually able to walk again and was able to share a room with Izumo during his hospital stay. Long after Kotetsu recovered and was put back on active duty status, Izumo stayed at the hospital. Kotetsu continued to visit his friend, checking in with the doctors and Tsunade to see how his recovery was going.

Izumo wasn’t getting any worse, but his mending was slow and almost non-existent.

Kotetsu entered Izumo’s room and nodded to the nurse who was checking his vitals. As the nurse closed the door behind her, Kotetsu took his usual perch on the side of Izumo’s bed.

“I’m so sorry Zu. I didn’t see what was happening soon enough. I didn’t stop it in time.” His paused to wipe his nose. “I’m so sorry buddy. I’ve let you down hugely. I hope at some point you can forgive me.”

Small tears trickled down Kotetsu’s face. A few managed to fall onto the hand Kotetsu was holding, stirring something deep within Izumo.

“It’s not all your fault.” Izumo said in such a small voice, Kotetsu was sure he had imagined it. “I didn’t have the strength to stand up for myself.”

Kotetsu wiped his eyes and stared into Izumo’s. “Are you back? The doctors said you were so far regressed into yourself they feared you’d never be yourself again!” Kotetsu leaned in to hug his friend tightly.

“What? I’ve been here. I’ve heard everything everyone has said. I just, was thinking was all.” Izumo replied. “Now, could you get off me.?” Izumo asked a little nervously.

“Uh-uh, no way. Ibiki isn’t going to be apart of your life anymore. You don’t have to live in fear anymore.” Kotetsu said as he felt more tears running down his face.

“No you lug, I can’t breath!” Izumo shot angrily. Kotetsu immediately released his bear hug and sat up with a sheepish grin.

“Sorry dude.” Kotetsu paused before asking. “Friends?”

“Always.”

~*~*~*~

Aww man, I suck at endings *wails* I couldn’t kill Ibiki, but I couldn’t see anyone really ‘exacting punishment’ on him either…..so for now he is just...in a cell awaiting punishment? Poor Ibiki.
