The Water Demon vs the Hawk

Chapter 1: A Silver Moon’s Eclipse

Just for time’s sake, this is taking place after everything, too lazy to watch every episode of Shippuden. And, no site works on my PS3, which I do ALMOST everything on. And, sorry if I seem more for Suigetsu then Sasuke, I’ve never really liked him. I was just thinking about what would get me more views and the idea I have could pan out with pure gold!

Run…that’s all my horribly aching body told me to do. I freed other prisoners…my loyalty to that snake no longer mattered. All I’ve known that last month was betrayal, anguish and pain. Horrible, agonizing pain and humiliation.

My daggers, now stained in the blood of countless shinobi were all I could truly rely on. Both were the only mementos from my parents, long dead thanks to Orochimaru and his lackies.

I was forced to stop once again, another portcullis, giant gate, blocked my path. In a fit of impatience, I kicked the only thing I could, a door, sending it flying off its hinges. I heard a yelp of pain that made my heart freeze.

The only companion I’ve had since I can remember was my loyal warhound, Getsuha. He never left my side till now. My red eyes darkened in anger, the secret trait of my family about to burst out.

I dashed into the room, my recovered weapons poised to strike…to kill whoever was hurting my only friend. Two ninja were stabbing my caged ally.

My eyes narrowed as I growled in a low tone, careful not to alert the ’men’ I was sneaking up on. ’If I do this just right, I won’t come to further harm.’ I told myself, wishing I could just let these beasts suffer a slow, painful death. Unfortunately, escape was my primary goal.

I quietly sheathed my daggers, performing a set of hand signs, allowing myself to fade into the shadows. I snuck right up behind the ninja, neither of them aware of my presence.

I reached behind my back, drawing my blades; Fang of the Eclipse, an all black blade and then its sister; Claw of the Twilight. This blade was a usual silver with a black hilt.

Using a good portion of my strength, I forced the daggers to pierce the men’s spines, stabbing each through their black hearts at the same time.

Letting their bodies fall to the ground, I went through their belongings, looking for anything useful. I stole their money and a set of keys.

“Hey boy, I’m sorry to have put you through such a thing.” I whispered sadly to my silver canine friend. Inserting the correct key into the lock, Getsuha stepped forward slowly, peering around with a scared and pained whimper.

As Getsuha was becoming accustomed to his freedom again, I looked around the room for my pack. I had some elixirs to help replenish both health and chakra. A common attribute in my family. We all had an affinity for poisons.

I also had a few necessities; regulation ninja weapons, medical supplies and so forth. Just the usual things one would find in a shinobi’s pack.

I then noticed a medium sized stone chest on the floor, almost hidden behind a huge box.

I quickly opened it, a smile of joy and relief spreading across my pale skin. My collection of daggers was all here. ’They probably never got around to fencing them, too busy with…other things. Thank Kami in a way…’ I thought to myself, positioning the pack, daggers included on the belt.

I reached into it, pulling out three items. One chakra elixir, health elixir, and a special healing method for my hound; a dog biscuit infused with herbs needed to help him recover.

I also bandaged up our wounds as best I could with the little medical training I’ve received. “There is something I need you to do, Getsuha.” I said, making my voice sound confident, not just for my sake, but for Getsuha’s as well.

The stocky mammal sat, awaiting orders. I smiled, ‘He truly is my little soldier.’ I almost laughed, but suppressed it, ending up making a chocking sound which caused Getsuha to tilt his head in curiosity.

“Getsuha, we have to escape. When we do, I need you to run and find anyone who may help. You got that boy?” I asked, making sure his orders were clear.

My answer was a strong bark from my canine companion. Stepping to the closed door, after moving the crank to open the portcullis, I readied my blades. “Charge boy!!!!” I hollered, kicking the door down, the two of us charging into the battle for freedom.

I lost count of how many of Orochimaru’s minions I killed. But, I could tell, my bloodlust was not satiated. Not after what they did. I bit my lip, drawing blood and growling in anger, feeling my kekkei genkai activating against my will.

My shoulder length silver hair turned black as the Abyss. It was safe to say that my opponents were royally screwed. And to be honest…all I saw was blood. All I heard was the screams of the men who hurt me and the only real friend I had. I could smell and taste the death the lingered un the atmosphere of my old home that was now my prison.

By the time I regained my senses, and suppressed the power that broke out of me, Getsuha and myself were outside Orochimaru’s Central Hideout. Blood covered my body and his fur was matted with the crimson life force.

I dropped to my knees, the exhaustion finally hitting me. “Getsuha…get help…” I commanded weakly, passing out a split second later…

‘Would he be able to find anyone who would care about a spooked dog enough to follow him?’ I wondered, sounding hopeless. Well…when you’ve been through what I have, I’m surprised I was able to get this far is all I’ll say.

I didn’t dream. I hardly ever do. Can’t recall any dreams from when I was younger. All I saw was a black emptiness. And, to be completely honest, I would be satisfied. I got my vengeance on ninety-eight percent of those bastards. Only one person wasn’t in the hideout, and that was the one I wanted most. Him…and my mentor, Hirayima-sensei.

I felt…warmth? I was certain, I was near something very warm. It was an absolutely wonderful sensation. I also felt as if I was being held in a strong yet comforting grip.

My body naturally felt sore after what I had been through. But, the pain was dull, almost non-existent. I slowly opened my eyes, the crimson orbs slowly taking in my surroundings.

I was in a lush forest clearing, a soft, cool breeze dancing along my skin. I looked to my right and saw a small fire, the wind blew the heat towards me. I felt myself smile unconsciously for the first time in what seemed like forever.

I noticed a few other people sleeping around the fire, each on a mat. One was a rather large male with spiky orange hair. He had a rugged, handsome face.

There was a female that was sleeping not too far from her, vibrant red hair, the left side seemed perfectly styled. The right however was rather unkempt. A pair of glasses rested a few inches from her face.

The last person I saw was another male. His hair seemed white. But upon closer inspection, and help from the flames and moonlight, I deduced that it was an extremely light blue hue. He too looked rather handsome. A single fang protruded from his mouth as he snored, several water bottles at his side.

“I see you are finally awake.” I heard a stoic male voice say. While sounding completely unemotional, the voice itself was almost music to my ears.

I turned my head to where the voice had come from. I was left breathless for a good few seconds.

The man I saw was almost…angelic in a way. The light from the full moon illuminating his skin. The breeze making his short, dark blue tresses dance softly in front of his black eyes. ‘So…gorgeous…’ I thought to myself, somehow not blushing.

“Are you feeling better now?” the man asked coolly, no emotion on his handsome face.

‘I am thinking that too much so soon.’ I thought, somewhat scolding myself. I nodded, gulping and feeling uneasy under his gaze. Yet, I didn’t feel…I don’t know how to put it. Best way to say it is, I don’t feel humiliated or angered. I was finally calm for the first time is months.

I then realized, I was in this man’s arms! I tensed up and swiftly moved away, stunned that I did not hurt myself in the process. This angelic man’s expression did not change a single millimeter. “My apologies! I did not know!” I said, settling on my knees and bowing my head respectfully to the man who more then likely saved me from Death’s cold grasp.

He changed his position, keeping his right leg crossed but his left leg up, left arms resting on the kneecap. “You have nothing to apologize for. My team and I found a dog, weak and wounded howling weakly. I take it he’s your’s correct?” he asked, those nearly soulless eyes never leaving mine.

I swear I was bewitched by those eyes the moment they met mine. “Yes, his name is Getsuha…” fear suddenly crept up my spine. “Where is he?!” I asked, probably sounding panicked.

“Don’t worry, he is asleep. He never left your side.” the man said, motioning to my right.

I turned and saw Getsuha, fully healed, looking fed and content. Tears of happiness sprinkled into my eyes. I smiled and wrapped my arms carefully around the hound, careful not to wake him. “Such a good boy, Getsuha. I really owe you one, my friend.’ I whispered, kissing the top of his head then giving it an affectionate rub before sitting across from the man who saved me and the only family I had left.

“May I know your name please?” I asked, my head almost on the ground to show my respect.

“Why must you know?” he asked, I could still feel his gaze upon me.

“So I know how to thank my savior.” I answered sincerely, not allowing any doubt to be in my voice.

“I am Sasuke Uchiha.” he told me, his voice still stoic.

A shocked look washed over me. “Sasuke? The same Sasuke that defeated and left Orochimaru slain in his home?” I asked, receiving only a curt nod from the Uchiha.

“I can’t begin to thank you enough.” I felt the pain begin to leave my heart.

Sasuke had a somewhat curious look on his face. He was asking for elaboration on the subject.

“When I was five, thirteen years ago. That snake kidnapped me and butchered my entire family. I am truly in your debt, Sasuke-san.” I explained, bowing my head to him once again.

“You owe me nothing. He wanted my power for his own. I refused to allow such a weak person not only my power but my body.” he told me, a small flash of anger in his eyes.

I stood, confident in my path now. “Please, allow me to travel with you. I am not without skills and will be helpful to you. Of this I am certain.”

“What kind of skills? Just what did you learn?” he asked, tilting his head to the left slightly, his bangs almost fully covering his eyes.

“My clan are…were renowned bards. You know bards as just singers and storytellers. We are also spies and assassins. I have excelled in Taijutsu. I am near a master in daggers and archery. I also specialize in poisons. All of my skills will be offered to you at the drop of a hat, Sasuke-san.” I told him, wanting to help repay him in some way.

“Your clan? And what clan are you from?”

“My name is Adaia Gingetsu. And, I vow to pledge my loyalty to you, Sasuke Uchiha.” I said, dropping to one knee in front of the Uchiha.

“What about your hound? How can he be of use?” my heart stopped.

“Getsuha is a highly trained war hound. Every member of my clan receives one at the age of five. I’ve had him since he was a pup. He is strong, Sasuke. He will not be a bother to you I swear. His tracking is top notch as well. If you need to find a mark, just give him the slightest scent and he will find it.” I explained, I refused to give up on Getsuha. Especially since it was because of my faithful hound that I still live!

Sasuke thought it over for a little bit. “Get some sleep, Adaia.” he told me, reaching behind him and handing me a mat.

“Thank you. I will not let you down, Sasuke-san.” I said, setting the mat up by Getsuha’s sleeping form and quickly falling asleep, something that has not happened in forever. I felt no fear…I was actually smiling. I had my freedom. And more so, a purpose.

How can there be NO love for Suigetsu? Its almost criminal! At first, this was meant to be a Suigetsu story. But, for the sake of more views, perhaps more drama and fun I figured, 'What the hey, why not let Sasuke have a fair go?'
