Minato Namikaze caught his five year old son as he tore out of the yellow school bus and jumped into his arms. He hugged the small boy close. He pulled back and asked, “How was your first day at school, Naruto?”
“I made two fwiends. They’re U’hihas.” Naruto stated proudly.
“Uhihas? Are they both in kindergarten?” Minato grabbed Naruto’s chubby hand in his own and started to walk down the lane to their house.
“U’hihas Daddy, not Uhihas. And no…’Tachi is a third gwada. He p’otects his baby bwother. But he likes me!” Naruto beamed.
“What’s his baby brother’s name Naruto?”
“Oh it’s Sas’ke. He didn’t smile so I made him! He’s my best fwiend! Along with ‘Tachi!” Naruto puffed his chest out.
Minato laughed at his son. “Ah Sunshine, I’m so proud of you! Why don’t you invite them over to play Saturday?”
“ ‘Eally Daddy? You’re so awesome! Is ‘Kashi and ‘Ruka coming Saturday too?” Naruto asked excitedly.
“We’ll see Sunshine.” Minato patted Naruto’s head. “Why don’t we start with Sasuke and Tachi? I’ll write a letter for you to give to Tachi and he can take it to his dad."
“ ‘Kay Daddy. I won’t lose it!” Naruto exclaimed.
“Here ‘Tachi.” Naruto shoved an envelope into the older boys’ hand. “My Daddy says to give it to your daddy sos we can has a play date Sat’day!” Naruto smiled.
Itachi stared at the envelope wondering how he was going to keep it safe until recess was over.
“Hn. I will make sure Father gets it Naruto. What do you and Sasuke want to play?” Itachi asked as he placed the envelope in his back pocket.
Naruto glanced at Sasuke waiting for the pale boy to say something. When Sasuke just shrugged, Naruto exclaimed that he wanted to play on the dome shaped jungle gym.
“Hey ‘Tachi, can you be the big bad dwagon fwom How to Twain Your Dwagon? And I can be Hi’cup and Sas’ke can be Toothless!” Naruto started for the jungle gym, but Sasuke’s small hand stopped him.
“Fine moron, but tomorrow we stay inside and do puzzles.” Sasuke glared at Naruto, challenging him to say no.
“ ‘Kay! ‘Tachi, go in the gym and be the bad dwagon!” Naruto said as he grabbed a small stick, pretending it was a sword. He and Sasuke followed the older boy until they came to the jungle. The two kids that were playing on the gym saw the Uchiha brothers and deserted the gym, knowing what would happen if they refused.
Itachi smirked and crawled into the gym as Sasuke asked Naruto question. “What’s a Toothless?”
The blond boy dropped his ‘sword’ in shock and stared at Sasuke. “You can’t be sewious! You don’t know Toothless? Ah Sas'ke, you gotta watch the movie wif me Sat’day!”
Minato stared at Fugaku Uchiha in shock. He should have connected the dots when Naruto had said U’hihas. The little ball of sunshine still had issues with the letters ‘c’ and ‘r’ in some words. Minato invited the dark haired bastard into his house. He took the kids into the family room where the video game consoles and T.V. were kept separate from the living room. He set everything up for the movie that Naruto wanted his friends to watch. Naruto told them that he would make them some popcorn and he’d be right back with it.
“Follow me.” Minato said as he passed Fugaku. The blond knew that he wouldn’t leave until they had talked.
They made their way into the kitchen and Minato opened a cupboard to grab a bag of popcorn. “How’s your wife?” Was the snide question from Fugaku.
Minato’s shoulders stiffened at the question. “She died five years ago when she gave birth to Naruto. Where’s your wife Uchiha?” He shot back, knowing full well what had happened since it was plastered all over the news.
“Hn. She left me after having Sasuke for some younger guy. She couldn’t handle being an Uchiha.” Fugaku explained.
Minato mumbled something about who could handle being an Uchiha if you weren’t born into the family and raised from birth. Then he said, “I didn’t peg you as the type to send your kids to a public school.”
Fugaku could feel a headache coming on and it all Minato Namikaze’s fault. He didn't know if he wanted to kiss the man or just strangle him. “I want to them to have some semblance of social skills. But it seems that they only show interest in your brat. They don’t even pay attention to their cousin’s the Hyuugas.”
“Naruto is not a brat!” Minato growled as he put the popcorn in the microwave and set the timer. He turned around and glared at Fugaku with cold blue eyes.
“Hn. Maybe he’s not so bad. How should I know? You just took off with Kushina and never told me a damn thing! I would know your child if you had stuck around!” Fugaku said coldly.
“I didn’t want him to grow up in the world we lived in Fu. He didn’t deserve that kind of childhood. I want him to grow up care free and if he wants to take over the Namikaze family business, then he can. You know I didn’t enjoy my childhood. And from the way you talked you wanted out too. But you didn’t have the balls to go against Madara. You were jealous that I was able to just leave everything behind.” Minato narrowed his gaze on Fugaku.
“Don’t you dare talk about things you know nothing about. I risked everything to be with you-“
“Oh no don’t you fucking go there Fugaku. You dumped me when Madara had Mikoto picked out for you to marry after our college graduation. I did the only I could at that point and that was avoid you at all times. I didn’t want to be the dirty little secret on the side, I didn’t deserve that.”
Fugaku moved to stand in front of Minato. His gaze softened when he stared down at the blond. “Then let’s start from where we left off Minato.”
“No Uchiha, we won’t. The only thing you’ll get from me is friendship.” Minato said as he tried to push the dark haired man away, but Fugaku only grabbed him by the arms and kissed Minato soundly on the lips.
“ACK DADDY! WHY ARE YOU KISSING MR. U’HIHA?!” Naruto screamed.
