A/N This is dedicated to Serani for her story Illusion and Dream. It’s a story where Kotetsu and Genma are in love with their best friends Izumo and Raido. 

I am in love with this story- characters, storyline and writing (which is freakin’ hot btw). And let me tell you… I loved ALL the different couple combinations. This poem is from Kotetsu’s POV.

Kotesu’s Choice

Sometimes it’s really hard

To try to take a risk

The friendships too important

To even risk a kiss

 

No one else could ever

Replace them in your life

Just the very thought

Cuts sharper than a knife

 

The thought of being open

With feelings held so dear

Instead of bringing hope

It fills one full of fear

 

Relationships around you

Seem to be so fleeting

It isn’t worth the risk

Though your heart is grieving

 

Stronger are the chains

Of friendship held together

Than fragile threads of love

That fail to reach the other

 

To have them in your life

You hide your love so deep

They never would suspect

They have your heart to keep

 

But what would happen when

Your heart you kept protected

Cracks open for another

And love comes unexpected

 

The one you’re free to love

And the one you loved so long

Brings conflict to your heart

Both feel right and wrong

 

The new love taught you lessons

That you hadn’t learned

That hiding love is lonely

But all consuming when returned

 

And love once felt so strongly

Can never be quite buried

Even when love changes

And life becomes more varied

 

To feel love for two others

Can’t long be sustained

One must be given up

Not merely be restrained

 

You come to realize

That now you have a choice

Embrace your new found love

Or finally let your love be voiced

 

You never thought you’d have

A chance at more than flirting

So how can you be happy

When your choice will leave one hurting?
