Chap 1 Power of Healing

Naruto was one of the youngest vessels born, with the 9 tails sealed inside him. Kyuubi's chakra merged with Naruto at such a young age it forced changes in his body. He grew 2 fox tails and his body aged quickly. Although he was born the same age as other boys, in the course of 16 months he aged 16 years, then his body stopped aging, more than that the Kyuubi's chakra held all of the Kyuubi's knowledge all of his destructive power.

When Sarutobi heard this he became worried that Naruto may misuse the power. However Naruto's skills radiated in healing ninjutsu, Naruto used Kyuubi's knowledge and created defensive and healing ninjutsu. The ninja who were hurt do to the 9 tails attack were healed, Naruto was good but he could not bring back the dead.

In the hospital Naruto was treating 9 wounded at once, his power not weakening from it. Sarutobi brought Shikaku to show him the boy's skills. "He is impressive Hokage-sama but the demon chakra inside him…"

"It's not his fault no one has taken the Kyuubi inside so young, these results were unexpected…" Sarutobi replied and looked to the Nara clan leader. "I believe under your families teaching he could become a great med nin as well as be safe…"

Shikaku thought for a moment. "I want to speak with him first." Shikaku entered the room just as Naruto was finishing up the formally injured slept peacefully. "Naruto why do you focus on the healing ninjutsu?"

"Because of the pain…" Naruto said and walked around checking to see if there was anything he missed. "Kyuubi's knowledge held the pain his techniques could cause, and with my own eyes I saw the pain the attack on the village caused. Iruka lost his family he's all alone now. I also know my parents would not want me to use such terrible power even to protect the village if it meant destroying, so I will use my power to protect and heal without causing pain…"

Naruto's fox tails swished back and forth. Shikaku was impressed. "Naruto would you come to my home, you can stay with us and I can teach you medicine…" Naruto smiled an innocent smile. "Yes I would love that…"

Sarutobi smiled. Shikaku took Naruto home, and his wife was not happy. "How could you agree to let that thing live in our house what about Shikamaru huh you want him growing up with him in our house…?"

Shikaku frowned and held up a finger to quiet her. "It's ok Shikaku-san my hearing is enhanced even if she were to whisper I would hear."

She was about to rage again when Shikamaru started crying. "If you like I will see to him." She glared at Naruto but waved him off. Naruto moved away and cuddled the crying child. Shikamaru stilled at the new source of heat, it was unfamiliar but after awhile it felt no threat. Naruto smiled at him. He used his tail to cup Shikamaru and the mini Nara cuddled into his warm furr.

"See he is no harm to him…" Shikaku spoke trying to soothe the anger inside his wife. "Fine he can stay but he will do as I say, and the second he starts disobeying me he is out got it…"

Shikaku sighed. 'Things are going to get troublesome…'

Years Passed

Shikamaru grew up with Naruto in the house. Naruto cooked the meals and was very good at it, but she would not let Naruto eat the food he prepared, so he continued to eat Ramen alone. Shikaku taught Naruto all he knew about herbs, and Naruto excelled at it. Shikamaru didn't like how his mom treated Naruto but what could he do.

To Shikamaru Naruto was amazing. He liked playing with the fluffy tails, and when he was younger Naruto never got mad when he pulled on them to hard. Naruto always made his favorite foods, and even played chess with him. Shikamaru tried to show Naruto he cared, he picked flowers for Naruto and Naruto ruffled his hair and thanked him.

Naruto pressed every flower Shikamaru gave him wanting to keep them. Shikamaru thought that made it special.

The household got tense when Shikamaru started the academy. Naruto packed him lunch everyday, and those delicious lunches helped him form a bond with Chouji. Shikamaru started to notice things one being Naruto rarely left the house, if he did he wore a heavy robe to hide most of his features and his tails. He also noticed how happy his father was when Naruto was around, and how much more his mother hated him, but Naruto never defied her.

Shikaku was busy thinking about the golden haired fox man that had found his way into their hearts. He was always there for Shikamaru and he put up with his wife. He realized he may be falling for Naruto, but he couldn't bring himself to act on it, even when he knew his wife was cheating on him. Her actions towards him and Shikamaru were a clue. Shikamaru was lazy yes he would much rather watch clouds then do homework or train, and his wife only scolded him for it. Naruto on the other hand helped him, he told Shikamaru he would sit and watch clouds with him if he worked on homework and trained a little. It worked like a charm.

He turned his head to see the blonde mixing herbs. 'He really is special…' He thought and blushed as he was staring at him to long. 'This is bad really bad…'
