It all begins now

Everything had seemed to calm down in the sound village,

ever since Orochimaru had taken Sasuke over to his side, and Naruto had finally gave searching for him a rest to go train with the toad sage Jiraiya, it had only been about four months since then, when something was happening over in the village hidden in the sound.

In Kabuto's lab, the young medic was at work, He had notes spread out all over His desk and He was looking over them while working with herbs and potions over on a table, mixing things and trying to create new and more effective medicine's when he heard a knock at his door by a fellow sound ninja as he spoke.

"Kabuto, you are summoned by Lord Orochimaru, I will take My leave now."

As the ninja vanishes into thin air, Kabuto stood up fixing his hair and clothes a bit before leaving. Without even noticing it, the boy was making sure He looked decent before facing his lord. Finally arriving at Orochimaru's door he knocks a bit before walking in, speaking to his lord.

Kabuto: "Sir...you called for me?" the snake replied. "Indeed, Kabuto....come in."

The boy walks in within five feet of his Lord, folding his arms behind his back, seeing Lord Orochimaru sitting in his throne, wearing the sound ninja uniform, as the boy said..

"what is it, Sir?" the Sannin replied.

"I have a mission for you."

Kabuto: "Yes, right away, Sir.." the medic said looking to the ground.

Orochimaru: "I need you to throw a couple leaf Jounin off My trail, they're getting too close to finding My hideout.....you think you can do that for me?" He said with a smirk.

Kabuto: "Yes, of course, My Lord....shall I be on My way then?" the medic said as an evil smile spread across his face, confident He could complete this task.

Orochimaru: "Now now, these are skilled Leaf Jounin, don't be so quick to judge...." the Snake squinted his eyes at the boy with a cocky grin.

Kabuto: "If you think I would fail.....why put me to the job?" he asked pushing his glasses up and raising an eyebrow.

Orochimaru: "Hmhmhmm I am merely asking you to take precaution, don't get your pant's in a twist." The snake Sannin chuckled as he smirked, mocking him. The boy scoffs, turning his head slightly embarrassed.

Kabuto: "I can handle it, Sir."

The man get's out of his throne standing next to Kabuto with his hand on his shoulder.

Orochimaru: "I know you can do it......you've never failed me before..."

He says while not looking at him.

Kabuto: "uh..." the boy looking surprised a bit, staring at the mans hand, he says with a bit of a stutter. "y-yes, my lord...thank you."

He glances back at the boy with a wide warm smile, turning away and walking back to his throne, he turns to him once more, with a normal expression.

Orochimaru: "..now off with you, boy."

Kabuto nods dashing off.

Meanwhile, Orochimaru stood there staring at where Kabuto just was, thinking to himself.

"Whatever have you gotten yourself into? he's so young, and yet....you still... " He sighed out loud shaking his head, as he walked out of the room and down the long halls of his lair alone, with only his troublesome thoughts to echo in his mind.

As every step faded away until thoughts were all he could hear some lapping over others, leaving the man's head completely clouded in "what if's" "I wonders" and "maybes" he thought....."why did I say that to him..?..." Remembering when he said "I know you can do it......you've never failed me before..." Going over it again thinking,

"What if I freaked him out..?....maybe it sounded stupid,.....why am I worrying about this!?, I don't care! he's just....what are you thinking..?..the whole reason your fighting about this is because he's not "just".....now I'm just being stupid......well.....I wonder what he's thinking right now......probably about the mission he's on.....and what he must do...obviously....I sure hope he can throw the ninja off without getting into trouble.....he'll be fine....there's no need to worry......the only person you need to worry about is yourself."

To pass the time he decided to shower, finding his way into the shower room and turning the hot water on as he got undressed stepping in letting the water wet him, as he began washing up, scrubbing the suds down his long black hair, only he kept thinking on and on, some thoughts leading on to others, but one thing was in common, it always lead back to him......Kabuto Yakushi......

Meanwhile the medic was off, jumping thru the trees in search of the ninja, hunting them down, with nothing but the wind in his ears, he couldn't help but start to think "Lord Orochimaru will be so very disappointed in me if I fail this mission...He seemed so sure of me after what he said....and...why wasn't he looking at me when he placed his hand on my shoulder?..." it was like electricity when he felt the older mans touch "I suppose he just wanted to make sure I knew he was serious...I must do my best to please him, he favors me...

for some reason...not the reason I want it to be..but if doing my best and pleasing him will keep me at his most trusted subordinate..then that's what I will do....just to be close to him."

Thinking about this was bringing such pain to the boy, he knew he could never tell his lord how he truly felt about him, he would have to hold back all of his feelings for as long as he served Orochimaru, which he hoped would be forever, despite the pain. Thinking about all this over and over while he kept at his pursuit of the ninja, finally coming across them.

Kabuto quickly thought up a plan to fool the ninja, He would give them a fake clue after leading them away, He used many tactics to split them up, then using shadow clones and substitution jutsu's to confuse them, having them all fallow a different trail, but one of the ninja got to close to a substitute and Kabuto had to switch places with it in order for the enemy to not find out it was a fake all along.

Kabuto began a battle with this jounin, using close range combat, using the chakra in His hands as a weapon, the other ninja wielded a long sword, putting Kabuto at a disadvantage, He did His best to hold off the ninja.

It being very challenging, the medic ended up getting very dirty, tumbling around on the ground to ovoid attacks, He had gotten cut once in the leg, but He healed it quickly. finding His opportunity, He jumped into the trees and switched places with a substitute which jumped off into another direction, the ninja on the ground seeing it, fallowed it.

Kabuto started walking back tired and thinking, "Got that handled...the other 2 ninja should have lost sight of the clones they were fallowing, and this guy will fallow him a while until he also loses him..." The boy sighed as his mind began to travel to that habitual thought "Now Lord Orochimaru will be happy with me...proud....wait...proud?..why am I thinking about that word?...of course he's not proud of me, it's my job, he doesn't care, as long as I get it done...." The hurting in his chest began again with these thoughts "Maybe he treats me better then the others.....more special...but it doesn't change the fact that I will always be a tool to him..and..you are okay with that.." Clinching his fists as he kept walking, it had gotten dark out, he told himself this to try and ease the pain, but lately...it seemed to always be there.

Around four hours later, the pink sunset had almost all gone, Orochimaru sat in his throne wearing his uniform once again, when he heard a knock on his door and the voice of his medic.

Kabuto: "I'm back from the mission, mah Lord!"

A wide grin appears on the snake lords face, feeling relieved and a bit excited as he chuckles.

Orochimaru: "Come in....."

He opens the door and walks in, his clothes a bit dirty and he stands within five feet of his lord once again.

Kabuto: "I've completed the mission, Sir."

Orochimaru: "Hmhm well done Kabuto.....well done...."

The boy nodded slightly smiling, how He loved to hear those words "Is there anything else You need?"

Orochimaru: "No....you may take your leave now, I have a few things to tend to Myself...."

Kabuto closed his eyes feeling disappointed that He had to go so soon. "Oh...okay then." He turns away and heads to his lab.

about an hour later, while Kabuto was sitting at His desk reading an old book,

he heard faint footsteps down the hall and then he heard his lord clear his throat, standing in the doorway to Kabuto's lab, looking at him, dressed in a navy blue Kimono, with white flowers and flower buds on it here and there, and a white Kimono under it, a light pink tie holding it together, and brown sandals, Kabuto looks up from his desk at the man as his eyes widen at the sight, never before had he seen his Lord wearing such a beautiful kimono standing in his doorway. the boys appearance hasn't changed at all since the mission.

Kabuto: "...w-what is it, my lord?" he pushes his glasses up.

Orochimaru: "hm....I would like to speak with you, but first why don't you change that filthy clothes of yours....."

Kabuto blushes nervously looking down at his clothes "uuh...if that's what you want...okay...I'll go change." He gets up walking passed his lord quickly to go to his room, embarrassed that Hi's clothes was still so dirty. He had no idea he would be getting a visit from lord Orochimaru. The boy took off his clothes leaving it in a pile by hi's bed, then frantically searching through his wardrobe for something better to wear "damn! all of my clothes are so dull, not that I even have much..what should I wear...what does lord Orochimaru want with Me?..am I...in trouble?...no..no..please no....maybe just another mission or-He looks so beautiful in that kimono..."

That last thought had just popped into his head taking over everything as he just went into a daze thinking about it. When he snapped out of it, he saw the most decent attire, quickly putting it on as the medic hears a chuckle and slight cracks down the hall.

After a few minutes he returns wearing very dark green pants and long sleeved shirt, with no shoes.

Kabuto: "What is it you wanted to talk to me about?..." He anxiously asked.

Orochimaru: "hmhmhmmm, I suggest you get some shoes.....I thought we could take a walk outside...unless you plan on going barefooted."

The snake lord looked at the boy with a crooked grin, enjoying the embarrassment he saw in Kabuto. As the boy starts to blush, he runs back to his room thinking how stupid he is for not putting on shoes. Coming back quickly with sandals and giving Orochimaru a nervous smile, the snake laughed.

Orochimaru: "hmhmhahaha!....right this way.....Kabuto." He walks down the hall making a turn right as Kabuto fallows close behind with his arms behind his back.

When they make it outside, the moon is a quarter away from being full, as Orochimaru walks near a river, hearing the crickets singing and there are lily pads, many with lily's on them floating down stream. Fireflies are all around with the wind slightly blowing every now and then. the boy looking at the gorgeous surroundings thinks to himself how He never noticed this hideout spot was such a peaceful place until now. The man turns to look at the young boy with a soft smile.

Orochimaru: "I thought you could tell me a bit about your mission today hm?" Tilting his head as the wind brushes through his long black hair, sparkling in the moonlight, as Kabuto's arms fall beside him and stares at the river.

Kabuto: "....oh...."thinking to himself how he almost thought it would be about something other then work. "What can I say? it was very successful, I found the jounin you told me about, I used multiple clones to trick them, then let them think they saw me retreating back here, only it was a clone going the other way...simple really...."

The Sannin chuckled, covering his mouth with his hand witch is mostly covered by the sleeves that are a bit to long, leaving only his fingers showing, thinking how cute it was for him to say "simple really" about such a plan.

Orochimaru: "That's my smart boy......" turning around walking along the river, speaking to him once more "So no fighting had to be done?"

Kabuto: "mh..." the boy starting to follow him again "I did have a run in with one of them." He answered his lord, but his heart had skipped a beat after being called "My smart boy"

Orochimaru: "Oh? well what happened?"

Kabuto: "It was just that one had got close to a clone, so I had to step in so they wouldn't find out, that's all, but then after a bit of fighting I made my escape....um..is that all you wanted to know, Sir?...did I do something wrong..?"

He asked, starting to get nervous that this was all leading up to something he might have done to displease Orochimaru.

Orochimaru: "I see.....hmhm no no, you did just fine.. it's just..." The man turns around to face the nervous boy once again "I thought with all the successful missions lately, that we should celebrate is all." He smiles as the wind blows and light pink rose petals blow through the wind passing in front of Orochimaru and behind him.

Kabuto's eyebrows lift looking towards where the wind is blowing from and he watches a petal as it passes by his face then looks at Orochimaru again, Him looking so perfect to the boy.

Kabuto: "....You want to celebrate... with me?" this was so surprising to Kabuto, never before had his lord ever suggested such a thing.

The man begins walking towards Kabuto slowly as the wind keeps blowing, the petals keep flowing with it, a calm and gently look on the Sannins face as he speaks.

Orochimaru: "Why of course, Kabuto.....after all...it was you who completed the mission."

The boy began getting nervous, trying to speak, coming out in a stutter "I...uh......" closing his eyes trying not to show how excited and stunned he was. He gathered some composer, his face goes back to normal looking up at the moon.

Kabuto: "That sounds fine with me, my lord." Kabuto put it out of His mind. "You fool...it's just a small celebration, don't make a fool of yourself in front of him!"

Orochimaru: "hmhmhm I'm pleased to hear it, but first would you mind getting us some wine to celebrate with?"

Kabuto: "...right away....wait here"

He quickly walks back to the lair, as Orochimaru watches him leave, chuckling at the way the boy rushed to get them wine, thinking of what might await him when Kabuto returns, he was a bit eager about it, but he waited patently by the river.
