Of Love and Betrayal

"Hey, it's been a whle. Just wondering how you have been, that's all...well call me back...if you want..."

Naruto sighed as he hanged up his cellphone. He stared out the darken sky, swirling his whiskey filled cup and laughing lightly. He stood up from his chair and placed the half empty glass on the small table. He looked around his empty apartment and sighed as he stared at the empty closet ahead of him.

It has been about a month and half since his girlfriend broke off their engagement and just up and left without a word. He hadn't really thought much about the whole incident up until recently. He didn't know how to react.

"...Hinata..." He thought to himself.

About a month and a half ago his now ex fiance had agreed to marry him. It had taken him so much courage to actually go through with it.

They had met back in high school, she was the shy girl that nobody really talked to anyone. She was the smart one in every single one of her clases, where as Naruto was the class clown but still manage to pass through each of his classes.

Naruto was in every single one of her classes, he had finally mustered up the courage of asking the shy girl out. It took her about a week to finally giving him an answer and agreeing. They were both in the tenth grade.

Naruto didn't think the relationship was going to last as long as it did. Everyone kept telling him that by the end of senior he should propose to the shy girl. Well he didn't. He knew that wasn't the right time and didn't want to take everyone's attention and recognition of the rest of the graduates.

After high school, they both ended up attending the same college since their jobs were close to the area. They decided to give it a go and move in together.

By the time Naruto turned 21 years old, he decided that it was finally time to propose to his girlfriend. He ended up calling their closest friends, his family as well as her family to attend a formal dinner. He didn't neccesarily tell them what the dinner was for, just that he was expecting them there.

Well the time had come, it was a quarter past eight. He wiped his slight sweaty palms on his slacks and stood up holding out a glass of wine.

"I had invited every single one of you for a special event."

Everyone stared in silent as the blue eyed man paused for a second.

He turned, looked at Hinata as most of them started to whisper amongst themselves.

 "Hinata, I honestly can say I didn't expect to have fallen in love with you the way I did. These past four years have been so amazing, moving in with you was the best decision I have ever made. Having you by my side has been so thriling that..." He sighed silently and closed his eyes for a moment. He placed his glass of wine on the table as he fished a box of out his pocket and lowered to one knee. "That I need to ask and know, will you marry me?"

There were awe's and ooh's sorrounding the table as Hianta turned light pink. She grabbed Naruto by the cheeks, kissed him light and nodded agaisnt him. "Yes." Came the small yet aubible reply.

Naruto grinned and kissed her one more time before the guest started applaud.

And then it all turned sour.

She didnt't really give him much of an explanation as to why she decided to just end things with them. She just said she wasn't ready and the next day she was gone.

Naruto felt alone, betrayed, hurt and then anger.

After everything was said and done he turned to alcahol. Alcahol became his new best friend but that didn't stop the thoughts running through his mind wondering how Hinata is doing, how have she been.

 Not much has changed since she left, except maybe just failing a few classes.

He threw himself on his bed and groaned loudly. Third time in a row where his sleep is ventured away and didn't come back. He turned his head to the right and noticed that it was eleven minutes before four in the morning. He ran his fingers through his blonde hair and tugged at it lightly.

"Hopefully tomorrow it gets better." He thought to himself as he forcefully shut his eyes and counted sheep until he finally fell asleep.

So I had decided to come back after many years being hiatus. I will be deleting my old stories, and reuploading them once I fix them all completely. Hope you guys liked the first chapter to my new story after coming back. Review.
