Chapter One


Naruto slept on a branch in his favorite tree. He had been training so hard lately that he needed a break. So he just slipped away from his training session and climbed into his tree. Kakashi didn't even seem to notice that he was missing. Naruto didn't care though. He was tired. He gave out a loud snore and rolled over, almost falling out of the tree.

Sasuke gave out a long breath. He had been training all morning. His match with the tree was going pretty well by him. He turned around to see Sakura, pounding the hell out of her tree. He turned back to his own. channeling his chakra to the soles of his feet, he then ran up the tree, carrying a kunai, and slashed a gash into t's bark. He fell back to the ground and landed on his feet. He noticed that the blonde idiot had disapeared and figured that he was slacking off somewhere. Kakashi was sitting in a tree above the training grounds, watching them, or was supose to be watching them, but he was more interested in his book. Every now and then he would say something like, "Good job Sakura." or "Keep going like you are, Sasuke.". As if he were interseted in the training. He was so caught up in his book that he hadn't noticed that Naruto was missing like Sasuke and Sakura had. Sasuke mentally growled. If it was up to him he would hunt down that blonde dobe and kill him. He didn't. Instead he just went on with his training. The tree was very much destroyed by now. Sasuke sighed and sat down at its base. Sakura, after giving her tree one more gash, slumped down on a rock nearby. Not hearing any more noises, Kakashi looked down on them. He noticed that they were exhausted and that a certain blonde had gone missing again.


"Very good guys. It looks like you actually defeated the trees. That will be all for today. You are dismissed." he called down, looking over at Narutos tree. It had barely even been touched. It only contained a few slash marks, a few punch marks, and a couple of burn marks here and there. 'Naruto, it seems I'm going to have to make you take trainging overtime tommorrow.' He watched as the other two stood up.


Sasuke looked up at Kakashi. "What about the idiot?" he asked. Kakashi looked at him before answering.


"He'll have to do overtime training tommorrow. Why don't you go out and find im?" Kakashi ordered.


"Fine." Sasuke mumbled and walked into the forest. 'Why is it that I always have to go looking for that idiot.' He growled and stomped along the way. He came upon a small clearing, surrounded by a few trees. It was very quiet. The birds barley sang and there was a dry breeze blowing throught the air. Then he heard it. A very loud and very long snore, coming from a high branch in the nearest tree. "Baka." he called Naruto under his breath. He walked under the tree and looked up. Sure enough he saw a patch of bright orange. He took in a big breath of air and shouted up at him. "YO, DOBE! WAKE THE HELL UP AND GET DOWN HERE. TRAINING OVER AND KAKASHI'S PISSED!" Naruto jumped and fell out of the tree. He landed right on top of Sasuke.


"What the?" Naruto said to himself, before realizing where he was. He quickly got to his feet and helped Sasuke up. "What the hell are you doing here, Bastard?" he asked.


"Getting your lazy ass up. Trainings over and Kakashis not happy that you slacked off. He said you're gonna have to do overtime tommorrow." Sasuke smirked.


"Shit!" Naruto said at the thought of training twice as much as Sasuke. 'Fucking Kakashi, giving me extra training just because I took a nap. He probably didn't know I was gone until training was over. He hardly does any work when we're around anyway. He's always reading that stupid book and he calls me lazy.'


"Come on dobe. It's getting late and I want to go home." Sasuke called back as he started walking back towards the village.


"Bastard, I told you to stop calling me that!" Naruto growled as he caught up with him.


Sasuke shook his head. "Like I care what you tell me to do. It's not like I'd listen to you anyway." he smirked. Naruto sent a punch at him, but he dodged it. Naruto just crossed his arms and pouted. Sasuke smirked inwardly. He liked making the Dobe mad. Suddenly Naruto came out of his spell and turned to Sasuke.


"Race you home, Bastard." he shouted before he took off, running towards the village. Sasuke blinked before chasing after him. He caught up a moment later and they fought for the lead. When the gates came in sight, Sasuke kicked in a burst of speed and beat Nruto to the gates. He waited for naruto to reach him.


"Bastard, you cheated." Naruto growled. Sasuke just smirked.


"Whatever, I'm going home." Sasuke said, turning around to walk home. Naruto scowled for a moment longer, before crossing his arms and stomping his way to his apartment. When he reached his door, he unlocked it and went inside. As suprising as it is, his house was pretty clean. His bed wa made, all of his things were put neatly into place, his kitchen was tidy, his bathroom was ok, and all of his dirty clothes rested in a clothes bin. He took off his shoes and walked into the kitchen. He grabbed a cup of ramen from the cupboard and stuck it in the microwave. While he waited for his ramen to be done, he went into his bedroom to change his clothes that were sweaty from what little training he had done today. He took of his orange jumper and replaced it with a white tee shirt and a pair of orange cargo shorts. When he heard the bing of the microwave, he put his dirty clothes in the bin and raced to get his ramen. After taking it out of the microwave he took a big hearty bite out of it and narly dropped it out of his mouth. He cried out in pain as the noodles burned his tongue. After he had let it cool down some, he took another bite, this time managing to actually swallow it. He downed it in about three minutes and threw the cup away. He was about to get more, when he remember ed that he had to go grocery shopping. He sighed and grabbed his house key and some money off of the living room stand, before he walked out of the house and down the street to the market.

sasuke looked at his bare cuboards. He had neglected the fact that he needed to go shopping, due to the fact that he didn't want to be seen by his group of fangirls. But now it seemed that he would have to anyway, conidering the fact that there was no trace of food to be found in the house. He grabbed his wallet and left the house, heading for the market.


He went into Karikas grocery store first. He loaded a basket full of fresh fruits and vegtables. Next he went to the butchers and got an order of beef and pork. Then he went to the fish market and ordered a healthy load of fish that would last him a long time. Finally he went to a store that sold milk and eggs. He was just entering, when he caught sight of Sakura and Ino, talking madly about something. He crept behind a shelf, hoping that he wouldn't be spotted. Unfortuntately for him that Ino had caught a glimpse of him out of the corner of her eye.


"Sasuke over here!" she called out, waving to the unwilling boy. He growled, when she dragged him toward where Sakura was standing. At the sight of Inos hand on Sasukes arm, Sakura growled and swatted it away.


"Keep your hands off of Sasuke Ino-pig." she told her rival. Ino ignored her and replaced her hand on Sasukes arm, making her even angrier. Sasuke pulled out of her grasp immeditaly. Just the Naruto entered the store. He didn't notice them at first, because he had ventured over to the egg section. He carried a number of things, containing fod and other things. Sasuke prayed to whoever he did for what he was about to do, before moving away to stand beside Naruto. The two girls followed, looking bewildered.


"What are you doing Sasuke?" Sakura asked. Sasuke hoped to hell that they would believe what he was going to tell them. He also hoped that Naruto wouldn't go balistic and ruin his chance of escaping.


"I'm here to meet Naruto. We're going to train a little bit more. I just thought I'd get some shopping done before he came. Looks like he did the same." he said, elbowing Naruto in the ribs. Naruto yelped, before catching on.

'So, Uchiha wants me to help him out. Can't blame him. All that attention would giva any guy a headache.' Naruto looked at the two shocked girls before speaking.


"Yeah. There's barley any food left at my house so I thought I would go shopping before we trained. Also got some extra things to put around the house." he said, indicating a small bag filled with bobbles and things. The two girls nodded in shocking disbelief. But Sakura was the only one to speak for them.


"Oh, well then. I guess we'd better be getting along then." she said, looking at Ino, who nodded at her. "I guess we'll be seeing you guys later then. Goodbye." They nodded at the two boys and left the store. Sasuke sighed. 'That was close.'


"He turned to Naruto. "Thanks." he said blankly. Naruto nodded, turning back to his egg selections.


"No problem." he said in return. Sasuke looked at the eggs and chose ten large ones that were in the corner. Naruto just chose three small ones in the middle. Both boys walked to the other side of the store, where they each ot a jug of milk. They exited the store and walked down the path that led to both of their homes. When they reached the path that split, they said their goodbyes. "Goodby bastard see you at training tommorrow." Naruto called as he walked the path to his apartment.


"Whatever dobe. Have fun with you extra lesson tommorrow." Sasuke snickered.


"Naruto growled and said, "Shut you bastard. I told you to stop calling me that."


"Like I said dobe. I don't really care hwat you tell me to do and what not." Sasuke called after him. He reached the road that turned off to lead to his house. After he was out of sight, Naruto calmly flipped him off behind his back. He reached his apartment and unlocked his door. After taking off his shoes, he went into the kitchen and put all his food away. It was really late now. The sky hard turned black and the moon and all the stars shone brightly. Suddenly a shooting star zoomed past and Nruto bowed is head to make a wish. After a moment or two, he rose to his feet. He grabbed his pajamas from his room and walked to the bathroom. He ran a shower and stripped out of his clothes. He stepped into the shower and let the water run down his body before he washed himself up. It felt good to wash the grime of the day away. When he finished, he stopped the water and stepped out, drying himself. He put on his pajamas and walked ino his bedroom. He yawned loudly. Climbing into bed, he turned his light off and fell asleep instantly, when his head hit the pllow.

At his house, Sasuke had put his stuff away too. After he ate a portiong of his fish and pork, he had taken a shower. Now he lay in his bed, reading a very good book. The hours flew by and midnight soon approached. He looked at his clock and sighed. He needed to go to sleep and get some rest for tommorrows trainging. He marked his page and laid his book on his bedside stand. Turning out his light he snuggled under the covers. After a few moments he was sound asleep. Sometime later a breeze blew through his open window. A glitter of somethng caught in it shone in the moonlight. It swept over Sasuke and the glitter enterd his slightly opened mouth. He coughed and then fell back into silence. Whatever it was, he didn't seem to notice it at all.
