Tainted Souls
A/N:
Alright. This is my first SasuNaru fic. Please critique me. I won't get any better if I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
I have a vague idea of a plot but we'll see what happens as I go. This may end up an mpreg, but again, I'll figure that out as I'm going. The first two chapters are going to be really short and then hopefully, as I get into the swing of things, they will be longer.
Also, before I forget, this is unbeta'd. So if you notice any spelling or grammatical stuff, please let me know. I will try my best to edit everything before I post it.
Chapter 1
A small figure sat in the center of his bed, clutching his blanket around him as though he were afraid it would leave him. A slight gasp escaped him as lightning flashed into the room. He pulled the blanket closer and tried to stifle a whimper.
He would not wake anyone if he could help it. He was eight years old after all. Too old to be scared of something so trivial. At least, that’s what his father continually told him. ‘You are too old to be doing that Sasuke.’ ‘Don’t bother me unless it’s really important.’ ‘Itachi was never like that.’ ‘Why can’t you be more like your brother?’
Sasuke tried to blink back tears as the whole house shuddered with the passing thunder. He was afraid, but he refused to show weakness in front of his parents; especially his father. His father despised weakness.
Lightning flashed again, casting ominous shadows in his room. Thunder crashed even louder as before, as if it were trying to outdo itself.
Sasuke gave a yelp and leaped from the bed and out the door. He walked as quickly as he could to another door down the hall. Sasuke only hesitated a moment before opening the door. He paused and strained his ears to see if his brother was back from the mission he was on.
Itachi had left two weeks ago on an ANBU mission. Sasuke hoped that tonight his brother had made it home.
He strained his ears, trying to determine if there was life somewhere within the room. He released a small sigh as he heard the faint sound of breathing coming from the bed across the room.
Sasuke stepped into the room and closed the door as softly as he could.
“What are you doing Sasuke?” Sasuke jumped and swung around.
Itachi was sitting up and reached to turn on the light next to his bed. The room flooded with light and Sasuke shut his eyes against the blinding light.
“Um…I was just…well I…,” Sasuke stuttered. Even though he loved his brother the most and told him everything, Sasuke didn’t want to seem weak in front of his idol. “C-Can I sleep with you Aniki? I missed you when you were gone.”
Sasuke hated lying to his brother, even though it wasn’t a lie per se. He did miss Itachi but he was more afraid of being alone at the moment. He hoped that Itachi couldn’t tell he was scared, but a small part of him was hoping Itachi would notice and let him stay.
Itachi stared at Sasuke for a moment. Sasuke started to fidget under his brothers unblinking gaze. Maybe I made a mistake coming to Itachi. He’s just going to be annoyed with me and tell me to sleep in my own bed, Sasuke thought. “Neverm…” Sasuke began but Itachi cut him off.
“Come here Otouto,” Itachi said as he slid over to make room on the bed for Sasuke.
Sasuke didn’t need telling twice at thunder rattled the house once again.
Itachi had barely blinked before he felt tiny arms gripping him around the waist. Sasuke buried his head into Itachi’s side. Itachi rand his hand over Sasuke’s back as he tried to soothe the trembling child.
“Go to sleep Sasuke.” Itachi removed Sasuke’s arms from him and pushed Sasuke back so that he could lie next to him. Itachi then pulled Sasuke closer to his body and closed his eyes.
Sasuke snuggled as close as he could get to his brother. He let out a contented sigh and fell asleep in his brother’s arms.
