The Jounin Test
A/N: I honestly have no idea how the actual Jounin exams go since the only reference is in the first part of the Gaiden Mangas when the Fourth mentions that Kakashi had passed the Jounin exam. So I came up with my own Jounin Test and I hope you all enjoy it.

Raven arrived at the training field an hour early and took a seat on a tree branch overlooking the pond. He wore his usual gear with only one addition, black ANBU style arm guards. The pouch on his left contained his first-aid kit with bandages, healing ointment, six soldier pills and four blood-replenishing pills. The pouch on his right contained wire and smoke bombs.
After just over a half-hour later a female voice calls up to him from the ground, “In a hurry to get this over with are you?” Raven looks down to see a grinning Tsunade an armed Shizune and a nervous Sakura.
“Raven-sama has always had a habit of arriving early,” a male voice answers from behind the women. All three of them look to see Fei stepping out of the shadows between a pair of trees followed by Sapphire and Jade.
“Unlike my eternal rival,” Gai comments coming into view from the left of the group below Raven followed by an excited Lee, an anxious Ten-ten and a bored Neji.
“I wouldn’t say that Gai,” Kakashi counters from the branch to Raven’s left. “After all even I’m curious as to what the Hino’s nephew is capable of.” Everyone’s eyes widen as they notice that not only is he early for an appointment but his usual reading material isn’t in his hands.
“I just hope he’s not planning on running,” Anko says from the tree branch to Raven’s right. “I’m anxious to see what this kid’s made of.”
“Easy Anko-san,” Kurenai tells her as she leads her team over towards the group. Hinata blushes slightly as she smiles at Raven while Kiba and Akamaru slowly limp behind with Shino a few paces behind them.
“I think we’re all curious as to what Raven-sama’s can do,” Asuma says as he leads his team out from behind Raven’s tree. Ino looks as excited as Lee, Choji is happily munching on his chips while Shikamaru looks about as happy to be there as Raven is currently feeling.
“So this is a public execution,” Raven comments as he stands up before dropping to the ground. He looks to Tsunade before asking, “Who are the executioners and who are the pallbearers?”
Tsunade laughs at the analogy as the seven Jounin gather around her. She hands a scroll to Kakashi who creates five shadow clones before the six Kakashis each stand beside one of the other six Jounin. With a nod to the Hokage all six pairs of Jounin leap into the trees and scatter throughout the training are.
Tsunade turns back to face Raven as she explains the test to him. “Your objective is to retrieve the scroll and return it to me within twenty-four hours. Your opponents are instructed to stop you by any means necessary, including the use of lethal force. You however are to capture and return them here to be detained until the end of the twenty-four hour time limit. You may begin when ready, however the clock starts now.”
Raven sighs as he resigns himself to his fate. With a nod to the Hokage and a glance to Hinata he performs the required seals before fading into the shadows in pursuit of his objective. “This should be fun to watch,” Sapphire says as she and Jade each take a seat on the ground leaning against the trunk of the same tree. The twins perform a few seals as they link their minds to the shadows to watch.

Raven stops for a moment as he thinks. ‘The real Kakashi is the one with the scroll. That means I need to figure out whom he is with. Fei-sensei is too obvious while Kurenai-sensei is useless without her Genjutsu and Kakashi-sensei wouldn’t be able to stand Gai-sensei for long. That just leaves Shizune, Anko and Asuma-sensei. Most logical choice would be Asuma-sensei especially with those chakra knives of his.’

Shizune and “her” Kakashi are racing along the tree branches when they stop suddenly to keep from running into Raven as he stands in their path. A soft “poof” to her left causes Shizune to turn only to see another Raven holding a kunai were the clone had been just seconds before. ‘Shadow Replication’. She quickly drops to the ground only to find hands reaching up to grab her ankles.
Spinning around quickly she back peddles until her back is pressed up the trunk of a tree as the three Raven’s move to surround her. Before she can bring her arms up to perform any seals a sharp piercing pain in each arm causes her to scream as she pulls away from the tree to see another Raven step out of the shadows in the same location she had just left.
The three Replications fade away as Raven leans against the tree and looks at her. “I know the real Kakashi is with Asuma but I can’t have you healing the others while I go after the scroll.” He stands up straight as he walks towards her. “I’ll take you to back so Hokage-sama can tend to your arms.”

Anko and her clone hid under the bushes as they waited for Raven to approach their position. ‘This is fucking crazy. Why the hell am I hiding? I need to get up and find this damn kid so I can kick his ass.’ Her internal rant is interrupted as her companion poofs away. Looking around franticly her eyes focus on the battle moving through the trees towards her hiding place.
Raven is fighting both Kakashi, with hit Sharingan uncovered, and Asuma, with his chakra knives charged. Her eyes widen in horror as Raven plunges a kunai into Asuma’s throat, killing the man instantly. “NO,” she screams as she rushes out from her cover to kneel beside the body of her friend completely missing the kunai sticking out of the ground where the fake Kakashi had been.
As she breaks cover the body and the two combatants shimmer away. “Genjutsu,” she says, cursing herself for falling for such an obvious trap. The sound of laughter causes her to turn around and glare daggers at the Chunin behind her. “You going to fucking pay for this shithead.” She lunges at him knocking him to the ground as she presses her kunai against his throat. “You’re not so tough now are you?”
“I wouldn’t say that,” Raven whispers in her ear as his hand closes around her throat. Her eyes widen in fear as the tip of a kunai presses against the base of her skull. The Replication fades from under her leaving her kneeling on the ground in defeat.
“I thought you couldn’t use any Genjutsu other then your talking shadows.” She says dejectedly as she stands up slowly.
“Who said that?” Raven asks putting his kunai away. “Just because I don’t use Genjutsu doesn’t mean that I can’t use it.” She begins cursing her own stupidity again as he takes her back to Tsunade and the others before he heads after his next target.

Fei breaks his mental link as he looks over to the Kakashi clone beside him. “Tell the others we’re moving to phase two.” The clone nods before poofing away leaving the man alone with his thoughts. ‘You’re better then I had expected Raven-sama. Your clever mind never ceases to amaze me. At this rate you’ll pick us off one by one till only Kakashi’s left. Too bad I’m going to have to stop you.’ He performs a few seals before fading into the shadows to join the others for the second stage of their strategy.
