With the crappy day I had going on seeing that totally brightened my night, fallowed with my grabbing my laptop and showing the picture off around my house ^.^
Thank you also to everyone who has been leaving me reviews and sticking with the story I hope I don’t disappoint you with the upcoming chapters. Well with that said… On with the story! ^.~
Flashbacks
Chapter 10 – Hope
Naruto and Gaara walked into the school and Sasuke was shocked to see that neither looked as though they had been in a fight only three days ago. He had seen Itachi yesterday, and they guy still looked worse for wear.
Sasuke met Itachi outside of the hospital sitting on a bench. He no longer had wrapped around his head but by the looks of his bulging shirt, he still had them wrapped around his torso. He winced at the angry looking scar on his brothers’ cheek.
“Aniki, why don’t you come back home?” Sasuke question. He reached out to tough the bruise on Itachis’ jaw causing the older to hiss.
“Trust me otouto that would please more people then just yourself.” Itachi smiled at the curious look from his brother. Naruto has asked us all to come to Konohan in order to keep us safe.”
“Sasukes’ eyes hardened. “What is with that guy first Gaara, then you, who else?”
Itachi actually looked surprised. “There is nothing between us; I’ve got a sexy red head, though not Gaara since he is with Pain. Why would you think that?”
Sasuke explained what had happened on Friday. His brother nodded. “While Naruto was in cloud it seemed like he was going down a dark path. Although he hides it we all know he doesn’t open up fully but we try to keep him as the bright sun that he is. We all tend to show how much we care with more then just words.” Itachi chuckled, “Can’t be possessive over something that you don’t claim.”
“What… I am not… poss…” He trailed off from the look his brother gave him.
“Naruto told me about asking you out.” Itachi glared.
“Did I blow my chances?” Sasuke asked sadly.
“Might depend on why you rejected him so harshly.”
“At the time I thought I was straight.”
“…The harsh words?”
“Shock and anger over the situation. Me thinking I was 100% straight and suddenly my best friend has me thinking of him…in not so friendly ways.” Sasuke blushed.
Itachi smiled as he ruffled his little brothers’ hair. “Just tell him the truth. Start with you being a complete idiot.” Sasuke grumbled and nodded.
Sasuke sighed, if he wanted the blond he might as well do as his brother said. “Uzumaki.” He watched as Naruto and Gaara paused before turning around. “Can I speak to you …please?” That earned him a curios look from the blond and a glare from the red head. The two quickly exchanged looks before the red head walked off and Naruto approached him.
After a few beats of silence, which Sasuke was still finding hard to understand why the blond had change he finally sighed. “I was an idiot and I am… sorry.” He was a brief moment of shock in the red eyes before it disappeared but he knew why, Uchiha’s never apologies.
“About what Uchiha?”
“For how I reacted and for the things I said before you left.”
Naruto scratched the back of his head. “It’s fine, honestly it wasn’t the rejection. It was the fact that you ended our friendship.”
“You surprised me; I didn’t know how to react.” Sasuke ground out.
“Its fine Uchiha, I’m over it.” Naruto said with a slight shrug. “I can’t say that we’ll be friends like we use to be…”
Sasuke cut him, “I don’t want to be friends.”
Naruto narrowed his eyes before giving another shrug. “Alright I’ll see you…”
“Sasuke cut him off again and he grabbed the blonds arm. “Naruto, I want to go out with you.” He tried not to laugh at the look of surprise on the other teens face. “After I gave you your answer I thought of a lot of things. First it was a lot of anger towards you, cause I was straight and you ruined our friendship.” He held up a hand to pause whatever the blond was going to say. “After that my thoughts just kept going. After all how many straight guys do you know, who after getting asked out by a guy, continue to picture said guy naked, or even just kissing said guy and get turned on?” He smiled at the surprised look from Naruto. “I know, me who claimed to be straight, became gay from one confession. I think the thought was always there about you, but I just put it off as friendship or as our rivalry.”
Sasuke ducked his head, willing the heat in his face away. He took a deep breath before allowing all his emotions to show in his eyes as he looked at the blond with hopeful eyes. “Naruto I love you, will you go out with me?”
He watched Naruto look at him seriously, before closing his eyes. He let go of the arm he had still been holding on to, as Naruto slowly shakes his head. Sasuke wondered if the pain he felt was anything like what the blond most likely experienced all those years ago.
“Let me think about it.” Naruto whispered
Sasuke nodded as he made himself as emotionless as possible. “Take as long as you need.”
He watched the red eyed boy nod before walking in the direction his red headed friend waited, and couldn’t help but wish to see the blue eyes that he knew and love show such warmth again.
A/N: So first time trying italcs..hope it works *crosses fingers*
ok so just noticed that I forgot to add who Gaara was with lol. Also for those who asked, It's called hope, because its from Sasukes P.O.V. And he really 'hopes' he still has a chance with Naruto. Stupid I know, just couldn't think of anything else. Also funny enough Sasukes orignal rejection wasn't what caused Naruto to go all bad and join a gang. You will find that out in the next three chapters or so i think it is. But yea, was just really bad timing.
Also to Bumblebee for the awesome picture that you drew. I hope you have no problems with me allowing other to see it.
