Anger has no Issues

A door slammed shut throughout the small apartment, making the windows rattle from the jarring impact. Striding through the small dark living room and into the next room, the bedroom. Naruto viciously thrust his bag by the door then proceeded to throw his shoes where ever the hell they landed, not caring one whit.

Then he proceeded to the bathroom turning on the light and the shower head. After the task was done he turned halfway in between the two rooms as he grabbed his shirt and tossed it to the ground.

“Vincant.” Naruto muttered suddenly, still standing in between the two rooms with his head bowed. Near the opposite end a shadow flickered revealing a man in red.

Looking up when no reply was given Naruto hastily jumped back and reached for an object that came hurtling towards him. Grabbing it out of instinct he inspected the object. It was a white envelop.

Heart pounding Naruto tore the top off and discarded the outer shell as he began to read the contents inside. After a few moments Naruto looked up with a question on the tip of his tongue.

But it seemed Vincant was one step ahead, “Cloud has departed to Nibelhiem.” Vincant then went on upon seeing a questioning look in Naruto’s eyes.

“A small squad from ShinRa had detected a disturbance at the Nibel reactor.” Vincant said in a monotone voice.

“What do you mean.” Naruto demanded wanting to know what Vincant knew.

“Fate has foretold the future.” Said a ruff voice that did not belong to Vincant.

Startled and a little alarmed Naruto tensed his muscles even as he looked around the room for the disembodied voice.

“What...” Naruto said, but stopped short as a figure appeared right by Vincant.

There standing not two hundred feet away was Kyo, with his shinny red coat and sharp intelligent eyes.

“The demon of calamity will be reborn into this World very shortly.” Kyo said again For it must have been Kyo since Vincant did not have a ruff edged voice.

“What the hell. What are you doing here in Midgar Kyo, and talking for Shiva’s sake.” Naruto yelled out.

He was going crazy that’s all there was to it. Being fired from his job must have screwed with his mind. There was no talking fox in his bedroom, no said talking fox preaching about this calamity and fate shit.

“Many years ago where the world was fresh and new, where people were learning and striving, the first nomadic species. There came a life form from the sky disrupting the balance for the people, the Cetra, or Ancient. Some thought she brought prosperity and goodwill.

But Jenova was none of that, it was a creature of pure power and destruction.

The Cetra were peace loving fools wanting to bring the, ‘Promised Land’ where they could worship the Planet in full.

For all that it had done for them, giving fresh water, air, sun, and an abundant food supply.

But Jenova had wanted them to see her and not the Planet she had wanted the Cetra to understand her way of life. Fearing for the Planet and their well being the Cetra defeated the monster that was pure power locking her away where she could do no harm.” The voice finished.

Stumbling back Naruto felt his bare back collide with the partly closed door, letting in even more light.

“What’s going on here. How come your telling me this and how did Kyo not only learn how to talk but also appear here in Midgar.” Stepping into the light Vincant slowly moved towards Naruto.

“He’s here of his own free will and I’m here to look after you.” Vincant stopped right in front of the blonde then as he looked into those confused blue orbs.

“Is Cloud in trouble. You need to help him. Not stand here preaching about this worthless crap.” Naruto said raising his voice again.

“I promised..”

“I don’t care what you promised Cloud.”

“The fates...”

“I don’t believe in fucking fate nor destiny.” Naruto shouted, as each time he cut Vincant off growing louder and louder.

Hearing a deep thundering growl the two occupants turned. Naruto stared at the red fox than at the small letter before he crossed the room in two strides slamming the front door open and closing it shut once he had reached it.

“The fates have chosen you to become their guardian. You worthless Kit.” Kyo snarled into the empty apartment.

Vincant having already departed the second the front door opened.

Out in the cold night Naruto walked down towards the old path leading to the church. Cursing the fact that he had no shirt on as he had beat a hasty retreat back at the apartment. He needed to think and cool down. Cloud was fine there was nothing to worry about he just needed to talk to someone.

He should feel happy that Kyo was here and talking but all he felt was confusion and anger. So lost in his thoughts he did not herar his name being spoken out loud until the third time.

“Naruto, hey Blondie.” Stopping Naruto looked up from his feet to see flaming red hair.

Reno.

The next day the sun rose over the small village, casting away the darkness, for another warm spring day.

People were already out, walking their animals or getting ready for another hard day at work.

The sounds of their voices echoing throughout the small mountain community. While others could sleep in because the reactor was currently shut down for repairs. Walking out the front door blond spiky hair swaying in the light morning breeze, the figure breathed in the fresh morning dew, before heading towards his destination.

But not before pulling on the blue helmet.

Obscuring his face from view.

After he had walked through the village to get to the mansion. A thought had struck him, he still loved the small place even if some memories were better left forgotten.

Once he reached the gate he signed in and moved on, occasionally looking at the trees inside the gate and the dead grass.

He was trying to stall for as long as he could because today was his turn to guard the inside of the mansion. And he hated guard duty just as any other respectable person would.

He noticed absently the same dead skeleton tree near the old chip painted building along with new green buds trying to survive the harsh winter. The concrete of the old pathway cracked and crumbing due to the weather and strong tree roots. And the shadow of the old building darkening the grounds even as the sun shone above through the clouds.

He took all this in without a thought as he tried to shut down his mind for another boring job.

He vaguely wondered why they would need guards inside the mansion. No one was going to come in and steal anything, he didn’t even know why they were taking such a long time with the reactor for that matter. Usually they would go into the reactor right after coming to a village, or part of a city, fix it that day stay the night then move on. But not this time, they had already stayed the night and still had yet to go to the reactor.

He snapped out of his thoughts when he went into the old house, hearing the small creaking floorboards. Like he had thought it would be, it was boring walking around the house with nothing to do. Hearing the silent creaking and rattling, making a ruckus in its own way.

Speaking about distractions where was Zack Fair or for that matter where was Sephiroth. Cloud walked all over the first floor trying to waste time and not wanting to go up to the second floor. The monsters on that level would be numerous due to the fact that the troops had only camped out in the first floor last night. Scaring the beasts and killing them. Further driving them up towards the second landing of the old building.

Taking a shaky breath the blond stepped in front of the stair case before slowly walking up them.

Momentary movement meet his eye, giving him only a split second to react before a driving force had slammed into his side.

Grunting with the effort Cloud had his weapon out and ready as he encountered his first foe for the day.

A big blob, the color of moonshine was swinging in and out of existence, reshaping it’s self to look like a man with a tail one moment before shaping again into another wolf creature. Cloud narrowed his blue eyes as he watched this shape shifter in front of him. Looking for an opening, he finally caught one, as the creature would swing at him with either a long hook or sharp claws.

The body of the being would become solid and leave it open wide for an attack, and that’s just what Cloud did.

Racing forward he struck out with his sword hitting the shape shifter in the gut. Dancing away fast Cloud watched with some satisfaction as the creature withered and screeched in it’s dying death throes. Nodding once the blond strapped his sword.

Walking the rest of the way up the stairs he automatically went into the last door to the left where he came across an old safe. He knew what he wanted but that little monster, which was hiding by the safe, was not going to let him have it if the thing had any say.

Which it turned out didn’t as Cloud had to only swing and step hard on the floor, making as much noise as he could until the small furry crimson red thing rolled away underneath the floorboards.

Smiling grimly Cloud walked over to the safe, stomping his feet as he went for good measure, and turned the combination; right 36, left ten, right 59, right 97.

It was pretty easy to remember the combination for the blond, since the numbers were his favorite. He heard the small click and knew instantly that it had worked. Of course there would be nothing in the safe since he had along ago took the possessions but it was reassuring that he still remembered.

Opening it up Cloud instantly stiffened his shoulders, looking wide eyed at the object inside the safe. Kneeling slowly as if it were a wild animal, Cloud reached in with his hand, before grabbing the object and squeezing it.

Most likely to see if the object was real or just his imagination. Turning the colorful orb around Cloud deduced the object was a cure materia. Grabbing the small tinny green orb Cloud set it on his bracer hidden under his shirt. The cadets were not supposed to handle magic nor materia but that didn’t stop Cloud, he had three including this new one on his arm bracer.

Ready to fulfill the bidding’s of it’s master when called.
