Cold Floors
Chapter 11 -Cold Floors-
Dark, cold floor… prison bars and fear of the unknown. Naruto was lying on this unknown floor behind those bars. Chakra drained energy down to zero… There was a small flickering candle near his cell, there seemed to be other cells around him, but it was kind of hard to figure it out because of the darkness he seemed to be constantly in. His eyes opened slowly, his body would not respond to his commands. He would lie there a day, a week, a month… who knew. Complete chakra consumption and recovery was never assured in little time, it had to be days or weeks. Slowly lifting his head to look at the surrounding, Naruto noticed that he was on a soft satin bed with fluffy pillows. On the left of the bed there was a night table and not too far what seemed to be a toilet and shower. He had to rest before planning his escape and he needed all the energy he could use.
The master had watched the whole movement that just occurred into Naruto’s cell. She smiled knowing that he would not be able to do anything for a while and that as soon as he would recover he would realize that communicating with Kyuubi would be impossible. The seal had been completed before he had fainted from her attack and Kist’s. At least, she had served a good purpose in the whole process. Tomorrow would be the right moment to punish her, tomorrow at the full moon, her subordinate would assemble together and see the punishment, what would await one if not obeying or failing to obey commands would occur. Kist would not recover as quickly as Naruto, but she would be emotionally scarred on top of that. Her hand pressed on the cold bars of the prison as she licked her lips. This was getting exciting and interesting.
Her dark green dress ruffled against the bar as she turned around to reach the staircase. Slowly she went upstairs and reached her room. It was dimmed light like any other rooms in the caverns they used as a hideout. Locking the door securely with a seal, she sat on her bed and looked at the walls. Covered with pictures of a little girl dressed in light pastel greens, the wall looked deceiving… The master turned her face away and changed into night gown to sleep. Under the covers, comfortably installed, she looked at the ceiling. The colors faded after a moment as soon as she fell asleep…
---~*~---
The morning mist covered the greenery around Konoha, the village was slowly preparing for the arrival of winter because the colds were always dangerous for illness. Autumn was reaching its ends and the leaves on the earth were turning a dark brown color; the color of decomposition. The birds that the Hyuuga usually watched were mostly gone and the bugs that the Aburame usually caught were hiding and hibernating. Sakura had placed a scarf, mittens and coat this morning because it was chilling. She could not wait for the snow to start falling. She headed toward the hospital where she worked. A lot of patients were recovering thanks to her techniques and her quick response in moments of emergency. Tsunade had been very thankful toward her. Sasuke and she awaited a wonderful moment in the start of summer. A surprise that had caught her a little while ago. As strange as it sounded, she had noticed that most women who tried being pregnant weren’t, but why was she? She seemed to be the only one that was carrying a child in her womb. Her toughts were lost as soon as she saw Kiba coming from the back of an alley.
“Pshhh, Sakura, I need to talk to you!” he whispered.
“Hun?” she responded.
“Right here, follow me!” he whispered again.
She followed him to his apartments and entered. As soon as they had entered, he carefully locked the door in the back and continued her following up until Shino’s room. They both entered and closed the door behind them, Kiba locked it with a seal and placed Akamaru outside to guard it in case someone would come.
“I’ll go straight to the point, did you notice anything strange lately?” Shino asked.
“I… hum… I actually did toward the kunoichis…” she responded.
“Tell us please.” demanded Kiba.
“Well, the woman who tried to get pregnant don’t seem to be able to even after all the symptoms of pregnancy gives them a hard time living for a few weeks. These symptoms renders their body weak and tired like a pregnant’s, they persist for several months and fade away as if nothing happened” she explained.
“That’s really strange, I noticed that my girlfriend, Kist, wasn’t acting as usual last night, she was covered in blood and I actually had a chance to take a sample. Perhaps you could have a look at it while you are working today? Finding the matching DNA could give us some hints…” Shino asked worringly.
“Alright, I will do my best!” she smiled.
He handed her a bottle with the red fluids in it. She picked it up and waved hand to say good bye. She left as soon as she could, the answers needed to be known at the end of the day at least.
Kiba and Shino looked at each other. They knew something bad would happen soon, they just didn’t know the exact moment, or the exact date… It was hard to tell… Kist was part of this bad event, she was trouble, it was hard for Shino to admit it. How would he be able to get her out of his life? He did not knew yet, but there had to be a way and they had to form a team of members to stop those shinobi from destroying what took them so long to rebuild.
---~*~---
Hinata was locked in her room crying. Her eyes had become like a bunnies, bursting with reddish colors, nothing would ease her anger and her lost. Naruto was gone, God only knew where, but he was gone again. Her father had tried to calm her after they picked her up from the hospital, but in vain, it was all efforts in vain. The worst part in all of this was to remember what happened that night. The nurses told her that wolves attacked them and perhaps Naruto had been injured to a point where the wolves might even have eaten him. How could she believe all those lies? This was certainly not a way for Naruto to die! Eaten by wolves her ass! Was all she screamed.
Strangely, last night, Kiba and Shino had discussed over the phone their plan with her. She had embarked in this mission; she was willing to find out what was going on. Up to date, only 4 of them knew what was going on, but strangely it was not enough. They needed more people to help them during this important infiltrating action.
Her mind came across Lee and Tenten who would be a good addition to their team. Unfortunately, they were out on a huge mission with other shinobis from the village. Then her mind came across Neji who was acting a little too weird. He was probably allied with Kist and that stupid bitch Chéri. How many enemies were they? Would they be able to handle all of them? It was an unanswered question for the moment. She wanted to establish who was left in the village that could help them:
Kakashi, Asuma, Kurenai, Gai and Shizune were out of the village for the moment.
ANBU was too busy dealing with other matters.
Tsunade was always busy with town work.
Iruka, Anko, Jiraiya, let’s not even think about them…
On the other train of thoughts Kiba, Temari, Sasuke, Ino, Shikamaru, Chouji and Beki would be perfect for the mission.
Picking up her phone and dialing the number at Kiba, she would transfer the names of those she was thinking of that were perfect for the mission. It was time to act, not time to cry. It was time to protect their future.
