All Alone

Chapter Twelve


Shikamaru sat silently, he watched as Naruto left for his house now that Sasuke was healed up enough to at least manage himself now. He also watched as Kakashi talked to both of them separate and that peaked his curiosity ten fold.
‘I wonder what’s going on?’ He thought and waited for the sensei to leave also before heading up to the Uchiha’s house.
‘All you have to do is knock.’
Shikamaru knocked softly and then loudly after there wasn’t an answer. Sasuke opened the door and raised an eyebrow, his dark eyes actually showing surprise.
“Shikamaru? What are you doing?” Sasuke asked.
“Um…well I just wanted to see how you’re doing.” He said
“I’m fine.”
“Really?”
“Yes.” Sasuke’s eye twitched and the other boys eyes slanted.
“I was just asking, you don’t have to act all pissed now.” Shikamaru said and sighed. “This is too much work to talk to you so I’m leaving.”
He started walking until he heard Sasuke talk and turned around.
“What do you mean it’s too much work to talk to me?”
“Well every time someone tried to talk to you, you always have an attitude.” Shikamaru said. “It can put off some people to not even wanting to talk or be around you.”
Sasuke went silent for a moment and eventually talked.
“Hmm. Well they don’t know anything.” He said quietly and slammed the door behind him.

‘Well that went perfect.’ Shikamaru thought and yelled through the door.
“I’m sorry Sasuke.” He finally left and ran into Choji.
“That was smooth!” His teammate chortled.
“Shut up.” Shikamaru hissed as he walked by.
“Don’t be angry with me.” Choji said as he munched on some potato chips and walked with his friend.
Shikamaru just looked at him with slanted eyes and then back to in front of him.
“Just tell Sasuke you have the hots for him.” Choji said and Shikamaru’s face went red.
“I’m going home.” He said and walked away.
“Aw come one Shikamaru.” Choji called after him, but the dark haired teen didn’t turn around.

Meanwhile Kakashi was sitting in a classroom at the academy trying to sketch out his Plan B, the thing was he didn’t know where to begin.
‘What to do, what to do.’ He thought. ‘I suppose I could just let them do their thing.’
Images of the two boys just going around like they are now, not doing anything about their feelings. An irritated look crossed his face and shook his head.
‘Can’t plan on them doing it themselves. Maybe I should just throw them into the same room for a few weeks and see if they would enlighten each other.’
That was another bad idea.
‘This is going to be harder than I thought.’ Suddenly he had an idea.
‘Maybe if Sasuke or Naruto was to be asked out by someone else the other will get jealous enough to protest.’ With a gleeful look in his eyes and basically rubbing his hands in anticipation he went to work on his plan.

Shikamaru yelped as Kakashi plowed into him and sent the boy flying. Choji yelled and ran to his teammates side. Kakashi helped the poor boy up with a sheepish look on his face.
“Sorry about that you two.” He said.
“Well if Shikamaru wasn’t busy thinking about Sasuke he would’ve seen you coming.” Choji said and Kakashi’s bulb went on.
“Choji you fat bastard!” Shikamaru said with his words slurred and eyes twirling.
“You have a crush on him?” Kakashi asked.
“I suppose so, but Choji didn’t have to scream it.” Shikamaru said, finally coming to terms with it.
“Ask him out then, he might consider it you just have to be…delicate about it.” Kakashi said and Shikamaru finally got stable enough not to wobble.
“You think?”
“I told you that earlier!” Choji yelled and threw his empty bag at his teammate.
“Shut up!” Shikamaru screamed with white eyes.
“Well you’re awfully loud today.” Kakashi chuckled. “But seriously just take my advice.”
“I’ll think about it.” Shikamaru said and with a wave Kakashi walked away.
‘Alright Plan B in motion. If Naruto doesn’t get jealous than Shikamaru and Sasuke will have each other.’ He thought. ‘But if Naruto does than it will be a fight for his affection.’ The excitement was overwhelming and nearly skipped home.
