The Chemicals Between Us
Iruka ended up spending the rest of the day in bed, far too exhausted and sore to do any walking. Instead he played with Akanbo after he'd discovered his glasses in the nightstand's drawer, letting the kitten pounce on his long chocolate locks until he fell asleep again.
Akanbo batted his nose, staring intently at the sleeping brunette. Iruka only shifted and rubbed his scar, soon going back to drooling in his sleep. The kitten mewled lightly and burrowed its way under its master's mess of untamed hair, curling up in a ball while purring loudly in content.
Iruka soon found the next morning that staying in bed just because his rear ached something awful was impossible. His stomach was grumbling loud enough to startle the kitten and the apartment reeked of old sex, cum, and sweat. Not a lovely combination.
When he finally roused after applying a heavy dose of the soothing balm, he went a brilliant shade of brick red after discovering just how many white messes he and Sasuke had made. The rest of that day was spent cleaning and then going to the market to replenish his kitchen.
Sasuke left a message in the evening when the brunette was soaking in the bath, sounding so terribly busy and annoyed that Iruka didn't have the heart to call him back and interrupt his work.
Iruka was finishing up writing notes for Lee to give to the class when Anko slammed his door open with a wide grin.
"I HOPE NO ONE IS NAKED!" The female brunette called out walking into the apartment, not sure if Iruka was alone or if the Uchiha was still there. "Wait, forget that. I HOPE YOU ARE!"
Iruka laughed good naturedly. "Ne, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but Akanbo and I are the only ones here, and neither of us is naked."
He came out from the kitchen, the tiny kitten prancing after his ankles, puffing out his small chest to show off the tiny new vest he'd gotten.
Anko blinked a few times seeing the small creature wearing clothes. "... damn." She smiled at Iruka. "So how was the sex? I know I heard you a few times... so it must have been good."
A foolish grin instantly made its way across the taller professor's face as his cheeks flamed. "You shouldn't ask things like that!"
"Ohh, so it was." Anko answered following Iruka into the living room. "Where is the hunk anyway?" She looked around.
"He's away on business," Iruka explained. "And don't talk like that!"
He watched Anko sigh and flop on the couch, immediately taking off her bra and grinning with relief before he remembered.
"Ne! Anko! What did you tell him that day he gave you a ride?! You embarrassed me!"
Anko chuckled lightly. "He has such a pretty car." She ran her hand over the arm of the couch as she remembered what the interior of the Uchiha's Skyline felt like.
"I only gave the boy some tips." A light brown eye opened. "And told him where you keep that wonderful device." She smiled.
Iruka blushed deeply, gritting his teeth. "You aren't supposed to share things like that! ...he's the only one you've told about...those things isn't he?!"
"Of course." Anko smiled. "And Kakashi." She hunkered down knowing Iruka was quick to throw pillows.
The taller professor fumed, crossing his arms and fisting his hands, half tempted to find out who would win in a fight between him and Anko. "Why would you tell anyone that?!"
"You went on a date with him, I thought it was relevant.... and I was a little bit drunk when he asked if I knew." She jumped up from the couch when a pillow came flying at her head.
Iruka ground his teeth together. "Anko-chan, I know a lot of things about you as well you know!"
"Kiba already knows them all, I told him." She smiled. "Anyway, I came over to check to see if you were still alive, I didn't hear anything in a day, so I was worried."
"Oh?" Iruka blushed darkly again, loosing his anger and replacing it quickly with embarrassment. "Well...I wasn't able to move much you see."
Anko's smile grew. "Really? It didn't feel that big..."
The male brunette blinked widely, soon growling. "Hey! What do you mean by that?!"
She continued, almost thinking out loud. "Well he was almost completely down.... so I suppose..." Her smile grew before looking up at Iruka. "I wanted to see what all the fuss was about, He didn't go for it, don't worry."
Iruka blushed furiously. "Anko! You felt up my boyfriend?!"
"Mmm it was worth it." The woman teased before instantly switching subjects. "You want to go out for lunch?"
"I...you...!!!" Iruka groaned and lost his anger in a drawn out sigh. "Yes, sure. Where would you like to go?"
"I'm thinking something close." Anko smiled, "You go get something to make, and I'll help."
"I want to go out," Iruka argued, "I've been inside too long. How about that new restaurant that just opened up down the street?"
"Alright." Anko sat back down. "I'll wait while you get dressed.”
The taller brunette padded to the stairs to get ready. "Oh, and Anko? I wasn't thinking about telling Kiba-kun all your secrets. I was going to tell his mother."
Anko tapped her foot, growing rather impatient with the long line they had been waiting in. That is until she spotted Kakashi just inside the door. Gabbing Iruka's wrist, she dragged the surprised brunette over to the grey haired man.
"We're eating with you." She smiled up at Kakashi.
Genma peeked from behind the taller man grinning like a fool, "Company's always good, especially if it has a nice ass and long legs!"
Iruka's brow twitched in annoyance. "No, we wouldn't want to disturb you two. We'll go somewh-!"
Anko jerked him down into the seat closest to Kakashi.
"Sake!" Anko called to the waitress who had just left their table. "And a water."
Iruka sighed and adjusted his glasses. "Anko, isn't it a little early to be drinking?"
Genma looked at him quite seriously, as if he had just been offended. "It is never too early to drink. It's almost evening, loosen up."
Anko snorted. "After that other day, he should be loose enough."
Iruka snarled cattily.
"Oh you loved it." Anko smiled.
Kakashi looked over at the blushing brunette. "So where is the kid?" He looked around, having expected Sasuke to be by Iruka's side.
Iruka sighed heavily, taking his glasses off to clean them on the edge of his shirt. "He's away on business, he should be back in a week or so."
Kakashi grinned. "Good, that’s more than enough time." He scooted closer to Iruka.
The smaller professor twitched, his hand fisting. "Ne, Kakashi-sensei, don't start with me!"
"But you need a man, not a boy." Kakashi wriggled a bit closer. "He can't be all that good."
Anko snorted, choking slightly on her Sake. "Sorry, go on."
Kakashi gave the woman a deep one-eyed glare.
Iruka blushed hard. "He's very good! I don't need anything else, least of all anything you could give me!"
Kakashi looked hurt for about two seconds. "But-"
Anko kicked the elder professor in the shin. "Stop it." She smirked. "At least get him drunk first, then he'll indulge details."
Genma checked out the waitress as she came back with their order, grinning lecherously. "Yeah, Iruka's more fun when he's plastered."
The smaller male glared around the table. "I'm not drinking around any of you!" He pointed at Kakashi. "And Sasuke can hurt you!"
Kakashi laughed. "He didn't look all that tough, he's a pretty boy, and the build is just for looks." He took a bite of food. "Why settle for a boy when you can have a man?"
Kakashi nudged Iruka in the side with his elbow.
Genma winced slightly when Anko kicked him in the leg by mistake. "Watch it!"
Iruka blushed again and closed his eyes, fisting his hands in his lap. "Kakashi-sensei! Don't talk about things you have no clue about! Besides..." He blinked, his cheeks turning a dashing shade of pink as he stared at the table.
Anko leaned forward, "Ne, besides what?"
Iruka looked up before glancing away, darting his eyes to the side. "Ano, never mind!"
"No, no. You started it, you should finish it." Anko prodded.
"Yes, we're all listening." Kakashi rested his chin on his hand, turning to look at the blushing Iruka.
The smaller male didn't look up as he shook his head furiously. "No really! It's nothing important!"
"Ne, it is, otherwise you wouldn't have mentioned it." Kakashi smiled. "I promise to let you finish your meal in peace if you tell."
Iruka sighed and adjusted his glasses nervously. "It's nothing...I just...I like him."
Genma said nothing but continued eating as Kakashi studied Iruka's face before moving back. "Alright."
Anko stared at the grey haired man for a few seconds, knowing that when it came to Iruka, Kakashi never gave up so easily.
The evening wore on with the small party slowly drinking away their troubles for the night. Iruka stayed within his sober limit of one cup of sake, knowing to have more would probably mean Kakashi trying to feel him up.
Both smaller brunettes ended up leaving early, neither keen on watching the cycloptic professor try to keep Genma's clothes on as the other man insisted that streaking a restaurant was a great idea. They stopped along the walk back so that Iruka could pick up a few cute toys for Akanbo, laughing and joking like they were kids again.
"Sasuke and Iruka, sitting in a tree, doing something that kids shouldn't see," Anko sang loudly as they rode in the elevator. "First cums Iruka, then cums Sasuke, then comes...what rhymes with Sasuke?"
Iruka laughed. "None of that rhymed, so why are you worried about it now?"
"Oh..." Anko looked puzzled for a second. "Sasuke and Iruka fucking in a tree..." The busty brunette burst out before the door opened, abruptly ending the vulgar song in its tracks.
Iruka closed his eyes desperately, trying to block out the strangely arousing scene as it played in his head. They stepped out of the elevator together, Anko still trying to rhyme things with Sasuke as Iruka followed behind her.
The taller brunette paused mid-step, feeling the hairs on the back of his neck rising with the sudden feeling of being watched. He turned sharply, eyes immediately going toward the fire exit on their floor. There was a long window at the end of the hall next to the door leading to the stair case, and because it was so dark outside, Iruka couldn't be sure but...
"Ne, Anko, did you see someone just then?" he asked softly.
The busty woman was busy sniffing his front door rather oddly, making him raise a curious brow. "Iruka-kun, did you leave your oven on or something?" she asked. "It smells like something's burning."
Iruka rushed forward to shove his keys into the locks, not remembering if he had used the oven or not. Anko was just behind him when they entered, both stopping immediately. The place was completely trashed. Thick bookshelves had been tossed on the ground, the furniture had been ripped and torn, and pieces of paper were scattered everywhere.
Some of the lights had been smashed, but it didn't matter. In the center of the living room they found what Anko had smelled. A lit trashcan had been placed in the middle of a pile of ripped photos and broken frames, one of them, Iruka saw, was his Teacher of the Year Award. Another was one of the very few pictures he had left of his parents.
The fire sputtered brightly in the tin trashcan as if it were greeting them. Iruka shook himself and ran for the kitchen, skimming over broken glass as he threw open the shelves underneath his sink. He came back with the fire extinguisher as Anko was batting at the bits of flame that crackled and sparked, flying onto the paper around it as it tried to spread.
Iruka pulled the pin and trigger, dowsing the fire in the white chemicals coated everything in its path. It was almost out...and...he couldn't help it. Iruka dropped the bright red container as he stared at what had been burning in the bin, sitting a top a large pile of photos that were probably of him and his students.
It was hard to make out at first and he had to squint to see it, but when the realization hit him, he backed up, leaving the fire to grow again. Anko grabbed the extinguisher from the ground, yelling at Iruka to snap out of it as she took up where he left off, spraying everything down.
"That's my cat!" he suddenly shrieked, watching the tiny little paw blacken and crinkle.
The busty woman pretended to not hear him as she kept him from stupidly trying to rescue the dead animal.
Anko rubbed Iruka's shoulders, the smaller man being wrapped tightly in one of Anko's blankets out in the hall way, Firemen and Police walking in and out of his apartment.
"You sure you didn't see anyone? And the door was locked when you got here?" The tall man asked.
Anko nodded. "Yes, we just got back from dinner." The whole ordeal was rather sobering.
"No one suspicious in the recent months? No threats? Phone calls? Letters?" His partner chimed in.
"No, nothing like that." Anko answered again.
They looked at Iruka. "Alright, here's my card..." The man pulled a small white business card from his pocket. "If you need anything, or remember anything... don't hesitate to call."
Anko took it, and nodded.
Neither brunette felt like staying the night in the building, so they packed a few things and went to a hotel for the night across the city where the lights were brighter and the crowds were thicker. Iruka sat on the large bed for a long while after agreeing to share a room with Anko.
She was in the shower now, trying to wash off the scent of burning flesh and whatever chemicals had been in the extinguisher. Iruka hesitated only for a second before he reached for his cell phone.
Sasuke looked down at his phone, seeing that it was Iruka calling and the time, his gut turned over, and uneasy feeling settling there and refusing to move.
"Excuse me." The raven dismissed himself from the meeting, Sai and Neji watched him, concern flashed over the Hyuuga's eyes seeing the expression to match the tone the young heir had used.
"Hello?" Sasuke said quietly into the phone as he passed by a large group of people ahs he headed for the bathroom.
"Someone broke into my apartment," the brunette said quietly, his eyes suddenly watering quickly. "Akanbo died."
Sasuke stopped. "Are you alright? Where are you?" He looked around, suddenly at a loss on where to go.
"At a hotel with Anko," Iruka replied, wiping at the hot tears streaming down his face. "I wasn't there. We were coming home from dinner."
"Did anything get destroyed?" Sasuke lowered his voice. "Besides... him."
He looked around. "I have Neji get Ibiki on the case, you did call the police?"
"We called the police," Iruka muttered, trying not to think of the black and flaking paw as he drew his knees to his chest. "They told us they'd investigate it, that it was probably an obsessed fan of yours."
"I want you to say at my house. It's much safer than any hotel." Sasuke turned around. "And I'll be there in the afternoon, I'll get the first flight back." he paused as he pushed his way through another crowd of people. "You didn't see them, did you?"
Iruka sighed, lying down to stare at the wall as he held the phone close. "The police already asked me that...I don't remember seeing anything except Akanbo... The paramedic said I was in shock."
Sasuke said nothing for a few seconds. "How...was he killed?"
The younger didn't want to ask the question, but his brain couldn't process any way of finding a kitten dead traumatizing unless it was put into the microwave or stabbed against a wall. He heard Iruka sob.
"It's alright, you don't have to tell me now. Just stay there tonight, and I'll meet you at my house tomorrow, alright?"
"Can I go over now?" the smaller man asked quickly, wanting to be surrounded by something of Sasuke's. "Would you mind?"
"I don't mind. Anko can go with you if you want." Sasuke answered, glancing into the room where Neji was still talking with the other men. "I'm going to leave right now."
"You don't have to," Iruka said, suddenly feeling guilty for making the Uchiha abandon his important meetings. "I'll be fine."
"No, if it was someone..." Sasuke stopped, setting his jaw. "I'll be there. Soon."
Iruka held onto the phone as he heard Sasuke talk with Neji and Sai, able to only make out muffled voices of the men. Anko came out a few minutes later as the Uchiha was on someone else's phone, Iruka not wanting to hang up just yet.
He explained things to her and though she offered, he insisted that she stay at the hotel. After all, Sasuke's house was far from the city and Anko didn't have the luxury of a student teacher at her bidding, so she still had to go to the University in the morning. It would just be more efficient if she stayed closer.
Iruka listened to Sasuke sending his driver to pick him up and drop him off at the house, thanking the younger man quietly before he hesitantly hung up.
"I'll cover for you." Neji nodded looking quite concerned.
"Thanks, I just don't think a 'fan' would do something like that." Sasuke watched as Sai continued to pass out paper packets. "You should get back in there."
The Hyuuga glanced over his shoulder. "Just be safe, we'll only be a day behind."
Neji turned, heading back inside, already stating an apology for Sasuke's sudden disappearance and his further absence.
Sasuke spun on his heel, heading for the front door, already calling the airport to have a plane ready and waiting for him when he got there in fifteen minutes.
Iruka hadn't unpacked the bag he'd brought, filled with the clothes that weren't ripped to shreds and a picture of his parents and him when he was a kid. When Sasuke's driver arrived at the Hotel, he and Anko were already in the lobby waiting.
The busty woman was tapping her foot anxiously, obviously worried despite how the taller brunette tried to console her. Anko even suggested calling up Lee and Gai so they could escort Iruka to the house, but the idea was quickly shot down. Iruka didn't want to bother anyone at such an hour and it seemed silly to have bodyguards when considering the security system Sasuke's house sported.
The pleasant looking driver smiled cheerfully even though the night was late, carrying Iruka's bag back to the waiting car as the somber brunette gave a half hearted wave to Anko.
It was an hour long drive outside the city, but already the brunette felt better. They pulled up past the heavy iron gates into the courtyard, parking just in front of the large pathway to the house. Iruka let out a sigh of relief as he stepped from the car, blinking when his phone rang as the driver unlocked the trunk to get to his bag.
"Hello?"
"Hey." Sasuke’s deep voice came though the phone, sounding completely annoyed with everything except Iruka. "Are you alright?"
"Yes, we just got to the house," Iruka answered, smiling at the sound of his lover.
"Good, Jin knows the code, get it from him, alright?" Sasuke sighed. "I'm in the airport..."
"Still?" Iruka asked in surprise. "Oh, I thought you'd be on the plane by now.... Did something come up?"
"We were grounded, I left as soon as we hung up, Neji and Sai are back at the meeting." The Uchiha sat down on one of the plush chairs of the private airline he had chartered. "There's a hurricane..."
The brunette blinked widely as they started up the path, letting Jin lead him up the long walkway. "It's alright, please don't hurry just because of me. I'll be fine here, I promise."
"Just..." Sasuke glanced out the window; the stars were fighting to stay seen. "...If you need anything, call Jin, or Tsume anyone, alright? And keep the doors locked. I shouldn't be more than a day."
Iruka wrinkled his brow in confusion. "Is something wrong Sasuke?"
"I just don't want a repeat of what happened." Sasuke answered. "I just want to make sure you're alright."
"I'll be fine," Iruka smiled, comforted by the other. "Thank you."
"I'll be there soon." Sasuke leaned back as a man approached him.
The brunette grinned, "I'll be waiting."
Sasuke smirked slightly as he stood. "Be safe. Goodbye."
Iruka said his own good byes and hung up, breathing deeply. The night was still and incredibly black, echoing the sounds of their shoes as he and Jin walked up the pathway. The taller man flipped up the cover of the security box, pressing in the quick code in full view of Iruka so that he could come and go as he pleased.
Jin opened the door for the brunette, picking the bag back up. "Umino-san, is there anything else I can help you with?" he asked.
Iruka shook his head as he stepped inside, feeling the tension that had been building in his belly ease away. "Thank you," he said.
There was a sound like a firecracker going off too close and he spun around to watch Jin look just as confused as he was before the tall man slumped over. There was someone behind him, walking up the porch steps with a shining grin that flashed in the dark.
Iruka’s arms slid around Jin’s torso, trying to hold the heavy driver up, failing before he fell to his knees hard. The large man peeked from the shadows, raising the gun again.
The brunette clapped his hands over his ears and let out a cry as the shot ripped through the air, making Jin’s shoulder blade erupt with the close range. A spray of blood splattered across Iruka’s face and shirt, soaking him to his skin.
He shook madly, still not quite understanding what was happening as a face leaned into his line of sight. Iruka blinked, still holding onto Jin as he was met with familiar black eyes he'd grown to know so well.
"Sasuke?" he muttered in confusion.
Sasuke was given a private room, sleeping there for the night while most of the side storms from the hurricane hit the shore, the airport being hit with high winds and rain. A few fallen trees and a few repairs, rechecks and reboots later the airport was back to being operational.
The Uchiha called Iruka, not getting an answer on the professor’s cell, Sasuke figured he was still asleep and would call back later.
He boarded his plane, Neji calling before liftoff to tell him that the earliest they could leave would be at least three days behind him, the hurricane hitting them much harder.
Eleven hours later and Sasuke was back in Konoha airport, calling Iruka as he climbed into a cab. The brunette still didn't answer after a few more attempts, the raven calling his home phone after that. The sun dipped down just behind the horizon when Sasuke closed the door, paying the driver who sped off quickly.
Jin's car was parked on the circle drive, wet from the rain the previous morning. Sasuke looked around wondering if Iruka had asked the man to stay so he wasn't alone. He checked inside the car before continuing to the door, punching in the code habitually before opening the door.
Once inside Sasuke turned on the lights in the kitchen even as he stood just inside the front door. Everything seemed in place as dark eyes scanned the kitchen and adorning rooms. Elegant brows furrowed as Sasuke continued on; hearing the shower running he headed upstairs, hoping to interrupt Iruka in the shower, though the younger was still unable to shake the bad feeling in his stomach. Something just wasn't right.
He hesitated just outside his bedroom door, slowly opening it and walking inside. The shower was on but there was no steam trailing though the slight crack between the door and the frame, the dim lights inside the shower were on. Sasuke opened the door, pressing his fingers gently against the deep cherry wood.
“You in here?” He glanced around before settling on the shaking form in the bottom of the large stall, the glass door wide open.
Iruka didn't look up. His chin was bowed against his chest with his knees drawn up to his chest for warmth. Thin piano wire kept his wrists bound behind him, cutting deeply into the frail skin and causing small rivulets of blood to seep down at a continuous rate.
He was naked and quaking badly. Even from his position by the door Sasuke could feel how cold the water was. Bruises marked the brunette's honeyed skin over his thighs, back, arms, and legs in a dark array. There were small cuts as well, but they had stopped bleeding apparently from the limited blood flow because of the cold.
Iruka was sitting hunched over like he had fallen asleep sitting up as a small stream of red blended with the water and went down the drain.
Sasuke ducked quickly into the cold spray, reaching for the knob and turning it off before easily sliding his suit jacket from himself and draping the warm garment over Iruka's shoulders. Pale fingers curled around the slumped chin, lifting Iruka's head so he could see if the brunette was awake or not, flinching at the older man’s freezing skin.
Sasuke stopped all movement when he felt the presence of another person behind him, quickly turning his head to the side, only for his temple to come in contact with something hard, knocking the Uchiha out.
Iruka stared across the impeccably white tile, doe eyes watching the blurry outlines of Sasuke's feet. The two men had come in to check if the younger was still breathing a short while ago, the larger one wanting to put Iruka back into the cold before the other stopped him.
He was still shivering uncontrollably, his plush lips drawn thin and tinted a dull blue. He couldn't get warm no mater what he did and he was distantly wondering if he was going into hypothermia. Besides the nearly impossible cold, there were the sharp pulses of pain flashing up and down his lower spine and in his arm and chest.
Iruka let his blurry gaze travel up as Sasuke moved, the younger emitting a low groan of displeasure. The smaller man didn't shift other than lightly biting down over the makeshift gag tied around his mouth from the shirt he'd had on before. It still tasted like Jin's blood.
Sasuke slowly pushed himself up only to have a foot planted on the center of his spine, pushing him back down towards the floor.
He growled, blinking a few times, as a few large droplets of blood hit the tile just below him once he was allowed to sit up. Sasuke's head stayed bowed for a few long seconds as the dizziness from the throbbing pain in his head slowly subsided, dark eyes finally looking up to regard the two figures standing just outside the shower.
"Hello, Little brother."
"Itachi..." Sasuke's voice was grated, his teeth clenched angrily.
"You seem to be all the buzz around here, you and your whore." The elder Uchiha nodded towards Iruka.
"What are you doing here? Jealous?"
The other man, one Sasuke didn't recognize quickly bent down and lifted him up, the raven's toes barely touching the floor. "Show some respect." He smiled before dropping Sasuke, who hit the floor hard.
"For you? No."
Itachi stepped forward as Sasuke pushed himself back up so he was sitting in a crouched position.
"You seem to be doing well on your own..." Itachi bent down, lightly running his fingers over the younger’s jaw line, Sasuke jerking his head away.
"What does it matter to you?" He spat out. "You're the one who left after ki-"
Sasuke received a quick blow to the stomach, doubling forward as he coughed the air in his lungs suddenly having been forced out with the power behind the blow.
"You're weak, you cant even protect those around you..." Itachi stood back up, uncurling his hand from the fist.
"Shut...up." Sasuke growled though the deep breaths he was taking in. "You..."
"Your whore was only good for a while, I think Kisame broke him though...the man just wouldn't stop crying."
Sasuke lunged at Itachi, the elder brother having moved back out of the damp shower stall. Another quick blow was landed on his abdomen before a knee to his chin and a right hook to the already wounded temple and Sasuke was on the floor, coughing up blood as he forced himself to sit again.
"I get to have him too?" Kisame laughed bending down to touch Sasuke in the manner Itachi had, the younger tried to jerk his face away but it was held in place by the stronger grip. "He's prettier than you, Itachi..."
"Let's go...I need to make a phone call." Itachi growled glaring down at Sasuke. "And don't forget to tie him up too."
The elder Uchiha disappeared from the bathroom as Kisame pulled a spool of piano wire from his pocket and bound Sasuke's wrists behind him, but not without a small struggle first. Sasuke managed to land a few punches on Kisame, a small trail of blood seeping down his chin.
"So you aren't as weak as I thought." He grinded against Sasuke's ass while tugging roughly on the wire. "You'll be fun."
He nipped the raven’s ear before pushing him roughly into the wall and punching Sasuke in the stomach, the younger fell to his knees in front of Iruka.
"I'll be back." Kisame smirked before shutting the bathroom door behind him.
Iruka slowly brought his gaze up to stare dully at his lover. They sat in the shower together, the cold surrounding the stall and seeping deep to the bone. Water dripped from damp locks falling around the brunette's face, making him even colder since the jacket Sasuke had given him had been tossed away.
He shook desperately, his wits rattled as the taller man held his stomach with a weak groan. Sasuke lay still for a few minutes, catching his breath as he waited for the room to stop spinning.
After closing his eyes and pulling himself into a sitting position, Sasuke looked Iruka over, the brunette was still shivering from the cold. His jacket was to far away for him to reach and his body was already protesting from the strain of trying.
"What happened?" He asked softly as he scooted as close to Iruka as he could get, the smaller man’s skin radiating the cold.
"Lean on me." He added, knowing that his body heat would help, even through his now soaked clothes.
The brunette continued to stare blankly, his heart fluttering so bad it hurt. He didn't move, neither toward nor away from the youngest Uchiha as Sasuke pressed in close. The taller man burned his blue tinted skin like a hot iron and he whimpered behind the gag, his voice scratchy and beyond much use from his earlier screams.
When Iruka’s whimpers were muffled, Sasuke looked over at his face not having realized earlier that he had been gagged. When the younger had found him, Iruka hadn’t been and Sasuke had not been able to look Iruka over since then, until now. He leaned over, pulling at the knot with his teeth until the red blotched shirt fell loose around Iruka's neck.
The smaller man brought his lethargic gaze up, falling back from Sasuke to lean against the freezing tiles, unable to retain any body heat.
He couldn't understand why the raven haired billionaire was here, nor the conversation that had passed between the three taller men minutes before. His eyes were still blurry, his glasses having been crushed during the first and last fight he'd put up hours earlier.
After Iruka said nothing, Sasuke stopped trying to get anything out of him, instead he just stayed quiet. Kisame was rummaging though Sasuke’s drawers in his dresser and in his desk, the sound of splintering wood made Iruka clench his eyes closed tighter as he laid curled in a half ball just past Sasuke's knees.
After an hour or so, Sasuke's cell phone rang, the Uchiha's best guess was that it was Neji calling to tell him that he and Sai had a flight in the morning, but Sasuke also knew once he didn't answer the Hyuuga would figure he was with Iruka and would let the raven be for a few days.
The shrill ring gave Sasuke more of a headache, even more so when Kisame stomped into the stall to retrieve the device and turn it off.
"Just a little while longer." He jested, discarding Sasuke's coat on top of Iruka, the professor jumped, frightened when he wasn't expecting the soft blow.
Kisame slammed the bathroom door behind him, the jingle of one of the games on Sasuke's phone was heard before the large man laughed.
The black jacket slid from Iruka's quaking shoulder, soaking up the left over water as it fell over the drain. He watched it for a few moments, trying to remember who it belonged to. But he was just so cold, and it was hard to think about anything else. Another shudder went through him before the little shakes grew less and less frequent.
Sasuke drifted in and out of consciousness and when he was finally awake there was the distant sound of birds outside. He swallowed, the sound echoed in his ears. Dark eyes scanned the room but everything was as it had been earlier.
"Iruka..." Sasuke voice was deep and scratchy. He coughed a few times before swallowing again. "Iruka..." The brunette was leaning close, body slumped over onto his shoulder, too weak to sit up straight.
"I'm sorry," Iruka whispered as he stared at Sasuke's jacket.
"There's nothing for you to be sorry for." Sasuke answered lifting his head from the tile. "I should have told you..."
"I got your coat wet," Iruka muttered, trying to press closer. The small amount of heat he'd gotten from the taller man had done him a little good, and he was back to shivering again.
"It doesn't matter." The younger answered. "It's just a coat." He scooted forward until his knees pressed lightly against Iruka's back.
The smaller man turned slightly, looking up at Sasuke's face, his eyes watering as his thoughts unscrambled. "I'm so sorry!"
"It's alright." Sasuke was confused; What did the other have to apologize for? He didn't do anything.
Iruka gritted his teeth, turning and pressing close until he could tuck his head underneath Sasuke's chin as the taller man sat leaning against the wall. He tried moving himself as much as he could into Sasuke’s lap, wincing as the movement reopened some tender scrapes. The warmth the youngest Uchiha emitted stung and comforted at the same time, a sharp contrast against the chilled tile surrounding them.
"Please forgive me!"
"You didn't do anything, Iruka. There is nothing to forgive." Sasuke let the weight of his head rest gently against the top of the still damp chocolate locks.
He pressed his face against Sasuke's chest, trying to stop the hot tears. "Please, forgive me, I should have tried harder...I shouldn't have given up."
"Given up?" Sasuke let a deep breath escape his lungs, slowly. "It's alright." He lightly nuzzled his cheek against the smaller man's head.
Iruka settled in the larger man's lap, taking in his scent. They sat there quietly for a few minutes, unable to hold one another but trying anyway.
"He said..." doe brown eyes opened, staring at the tile. “That you had sent him here..."
"He lied." Sasuke grit his teeth. "He's the one who killed my family." The younger shifted, moving so Iruka was pressing against him more, the smaller man still shivering.
He blinked and looked up, eyes shimmering wetly in the fluorescent lighting. "But...he said you were brothers..."
"He's my older brother." Sasuke answered, looking down at Iruka. "He did it on his own."
"I...I don't understand," Iruka admitted softly. "I don't understand why he's here."
"I don't know either." Sasuke shifted again, hearing movement just outside the bathroom door. "But he's here for a reason."
The brunette lowered his eyes with sudden shame, tears building up again even though he wouldn't let them fall. "Please...I’m sorry, say you forgive me."
"You didn't do anything..." Sasuke felt Iruka sob. "I accept."
He sighed, pressing against the younger again as sharp pains started pulsing through his nerves. Iruka winced, but didn't pull away, knowing that it was just warmth and feeling starting to circulate through his body again.
"I'm happy to see you," he said. "But I wish you hadn't come."
"Why?" Sasuke's brows furrowed painfully in confusion.
Iruka closed his eyes. "I don't want you to be hurt."
In the extensive lighting, his many bruises and cuts were visible, telling an obvious story of beatings, and from the way his small form sat so stiffly made it clear what else had happened.
"I can take anything he'll give... I have before." Sasuke let out a sigh. "I'm more worried about you. I'm sorry I wasn't here to stop them."
Iruka blinked, but kept from saying anything. He didn't want to reopen old wounds for Sasuke like the experience so far had done for him. For now, even if it was just for show, he wanted to be strong for the younger man so he didn't worry so much.
"Sasuke-kun," Iruka said, tilting his face up with a small forced smile. "It will be okay!"
Sasuke said nothing, instead he lowered his head and pressed his forehead gently against Iruka's. "I should have known, I'm sorry."
The brunette felt his smile slipping as he trembled. "No...don't be sorry," he replied firmly. "It's not your fault..."
The taller man didn't answer and Iruka felt his eyes start to water again. He let out a shuddering breath before quickly pressing his mouth against Sasuke's.
The younger was startled for a second with the gentle heat against his lips. At first he didn’t return the gesture, hesitating before he pushed forward, deepening the kiss as much as he could.
"Ne, so ready so soon?"
Iruka's eyes widened in surprise before he and Sasuke pulled apart, staring at Kisame leering against the shower stall.
The brunette didn't realize someone so big could move so quietly and wondered how long the intruder had been there. His first instinct was to flinch away and put as much distance between them as possible, but Sasuke's warmth against him, surrounding him made him feel stronger.
Iruka lifted his chin slightly, staring Kisame in the face. The large man blinked in surprise, reaching up to scratch at the many tattoos on his skin that made him look completely blue.
"Ah, so now you both have spirit is that it?"
"Come to do his biding?" Sasuke turned his head to look up at Kisame, eyes narrowed in a hateful glare. "You're just a lapdog."
The large man chuckled, leering at them both. "Better to be a pet than food."
"And you don't think he'll just kill you when he has no more use for you?"
"Enough." Itachi said flatly, gaining the attention of the other three. "Bring him." He nodded toward them both but his eyes were on Sasuke. Kisame's grin was large as he pulled the younger Uchiha away from the professor.
"I'll be back for you." He warned Iruka.
Iruka's eyes widened and he was dumped from Sasuke's lap, landing hard against the tile that instantly tried to seep the cold into his body again.
"No!" he shouted, voice cracking with the strain of speaking so loud. "No! Stop it, give him back to me!"
Kisame turned, looking over his shoulder with that same infuriating leer as before. "Ne? And you would rather trade places? I'm bored."
Iruka gritted his teeth, seeing what a tight grip the blue haired man suddenly had on Sasuke's throat, making sure the younger couldn't breathe, let alone talk.
"Hai!" he yelled without hesitation.
Kisame sneered. "Well too bad, because I'm sick of having you. Though... you do look pretty cute with that temper showing," he remarked, squeezing tighter around the pale neck.
"Leave him," Itachi said smoothly. "If you want, you can break him again afterwards."
The larger man growled, turning a glare on the youngest Uchiha who was slowly turning red from lack of air. "Right, lovers should share everything shouldn't you? Then let me share with you what I did to him..."
Sasuke was dragged out of the bathroom despite Iruka's loud yells, the door slamming behind them.
He went quiet, even holding his breath so that he could hear something. He didn't...he didn't want Sasuke to be hurt! The brunette squeezed his eyes shut, trying not to break down as he heard the first grunt of pain that escaped from the younger as it snapped through the deadly silence. He slowly sank down, bowing his head against his raised knees as he leaned against the cold wall behind him.
"Sasuke-kun..." he said quietly. "Sasuke I'm so sorry."
A/N: Dom- enough of a twist? Saw it coming? It's not like we didn't hint at it >> I'm surprised no one asked who Iruka kept seeing.
