I'm only Human

AN: HI ALL!! Another chapter I know! It’s taken forever..life has just been so busy with school and work and all that fun jazz….I really hope you enjoy this new update!! Things are happening, and I’m getting excited again especially after the bout of writers block I had!!

Now I'm trying to figure out why I've only gotten 4 reviews...and I love you guys who did review -has stuck with me-...I mean if things are going on that you don't like..let me know! Spelling...grammar...plot..content...please..I don't mind negative feedback..(though positive feedback would be nice) Honestly, the more reviews I get the more likely I'll be wanting to put the next chapter out..it's just so discouraging to writers when we don't get feedback...but thats all..please do enjoy ^^ and I hope to get some answers..because I don't want to stop writing on the account of people not reviewing!

One sharingan eye watched the forest as he moved forward lightly. His prey was just ahead of him and suspected nothing. Their movements had sped up and he had heard nothing from Itachi and Kisame. Nor Zetsu. The Hatake and the assassin he was following changed course. Narrowing his visible eye he idly landed on a branch twisting his head. North. They were moving north now. Sliding his mask from his face he took in his surroundings his eyes closing as he entered the darkness of his subconscious.

“Itachi.”

Moments past but the other man did not materialize before him at his called. His narrowed sharingan swirled in anger. Of course the other Uchiha would betray him. It was something he should have expected, he should have sent another after the Jinchuuriki.

“Kisame,” he growled instead. The shinobi from Mist suddenly materialized, his beady dark eyes narrowed and focused on Madara before him.

“Yes?” came the Kisame’s dark voice as he shifted his large sword on his back. Madara nodded once knowing he could put his trust into the sadistic man from Mist.

“You know your orders,” he said simply. “You will not let him kill the Jinchuuriki. You know the consequences otherwise.” Kisame nodded once again, a ragged smirk filled with sharp teeth pulling across his lips.

“Of course,” he said with a slight bow before he faded from the blackness. A frown pulled across Madara’s lips before he snapped the mask down on his face. His plans will not be ruined by the betrayer of Konoha. He took off nimbly after the assassin and Hatake. It was time to get rid of the nuisances.

Red sharingan eyes surveyed the destruction of the land before him as he waited silently for his partner to return from the conference with Madara. Kisame let out a gruff laugh before pulling the sword from his back,

“He wants me to stop you from killing the Jinchuuriki,” he said, the sword swooping down and stopping above the shoulder. Itachi merely stood his putting on hand up to wave the sword away.

“You know you have no chance against me,” he said simply still taking in the surroundings. He was already at the two tailed stage, and every rogue shinobi that had attacked him lay dead in varying degrees of carnage. It was time to take his life before he was captured.

“I just thought I’d let you know,” Kisame replied with a half shrug tossing he sword back onto its holder on his back, he looked in the direction they were headed and frowned slightly.

“We need to stop him,” he said finally.

“No,” Itachi replied. “He needs to be destroyed.”

“North. Stay North,” Pakkun growled. “This whole thing reeks of danger.” The animal continued as he bounded ahead. Kakashi nodded once in agreement.

“Is it Naruto?” Sai asked, his hands clenched, he had a gut feeling they were running out of time. Naruto was going to die if they didn’t reach him.

“Yes. More Kyuubi then Naruto though,” came Pakkuns reply. Kakashi glanced at Pakkun.

“Has he broken the seal?” he asked in a rushed tone, with the power of Kyuubi breaking down Naruto’s flesh and bone there would nothing left and both would cease to exist.

“Yes and No,” Pakkun growled. “I smell death. A path like no other,” he continued.

“He’s wrecked havoc with anyone who’s crossed his way,” Pakkun twisted his pug head around staring among the trees before surging forward once more. Sai looked at Kakashi.

“Has he lost control?” the artist asked softly. Pakkun didn’t respond. Sai made a grab for the little dog but Kakashi grabbed his wrist and yanked him back, his revealed sharingan whirling.

“If he’s killed out of cold blood. If he’s lost all control. We may have no choice but to bring him down,” said the copy-cat ninja. Sai twisted his wrist from the hard grip his black eyes hard.

“I will not,” he hissed. “My orders were to kill him and I will not obey those orders,” he continued glaring. Kakashi regarded him, the frown under the mask deepening if not more before he looked away and nodded.

“Then we will both go down trying to save him,” he whispered softly.

“The one who breaks the rules is trash but he who abandons his friends is worse than trash,” Kakashi rehearsed, his old friends words coming from his mouth before he could stop himself. Sai turned at hearing the words, questioning eyes on the other. The Hatake’s eyes shot forward before he pushed off a branch, his speed only increasing more as his chakra pulsed.

“A friend a long time ago said that to me,” he explained his voice hard as a new resolve filled him. Sai took in the older man.

“Your friend is wise,” he said finally. Kakashi smiled softly under his mask, his thoughts swirling around the one who had said that so long ago.

“Yes…he was,” Kakashi said, the forest whirled around them as they moved on.

Sai gave him one last long look before turning his attention ahead where Pakkun was still leading the way. He stayed silent in respect for the thoughts Kakashi still held. Kakashi could still remember Obito saying that to him, and how those very same words still pushed him forward in everything he did. His eyes took in their surroundings as they moved, the silence spreading between them tensely. A shadow moved right at the corner of his eyes and Kakashi whipped his head around with narrowed eyes. His sharingan whirled and he saw it. They were being followed. He had speculated, but never knew they had gone so far and just now sensing something. Whoever was following them wanted them to know he was there.

“Sai,” he said. Sai didn’t look at him, but his hands had slid back to the brush and scroll.

“I know,” came the assassins reply. “I feel it too.” Kakashi nodded and glanced at Pakkun, the little dog bounding ahead of them.

“Whoever it is they’re hiding their chakra and their smell,” came the little dog’s voice. Kakashi nodded before whipping out a scroll and doing a quick releasing spell, Pakkun disappeared in a small cloud of black curling smoke. Kakashi whipped a kunai from his pouch and he turned, Sai right at his side.

“We don’t have time for games,” Kakashi said loudly his eyes narrowed considerably at their surroundings.

“Who said this was a game?” came the voice and a cloaked figure landed down behind them.

It was strengthening. What happened, why was everything falling apart right now?! He was trying to save lives and stubborn people weren’t letting up! The lithe body moved fast as he bounded animal like through the trees towards his final destination. Blood soaked his clothing and his skin. None belonged to him. It was all wrong…all wrong! Everything he worked so hard to protect was going to come crumbling down because of that bastard. He was going to end this once and for all and nothing was going to stop him. He was close. The bond had to fail.

Naruto pushed himself forward, the demons chakra thrumming dangerously around him as he moved. The beast hissed and growled encouragement to pull whoever crossed their paths apart, the bloodthirstiness leaking into every single part of his body. His path of destruction was leading to one final goal and he would end all then. The thick trees parted the first drops of rain that came down. Naruto’s mouth curled upward in a sadistic grin. Even better to cover his trail. Rain would clean the earth of his very presence, and soon the world will be rid of him, the demon he carried, and along with the very leaders of Akatsuki who were so keen to kill him. A snarl ripped up his throat. So close. He pushed off the tree branch landing against the ground in a low crouch the elongated claws from his hands digging into the earth below. He twisted around a blade driving hard and deep into the palm of his hand. His yellow eyes narrowed and a growl ripped up his throat as he gripped the hilt of the blade and yanked it forward from the Rain shinobi’s hand.

“My turn,” came the snarl and he whipped the blade from his hand before driving it through the shinobi’s body, the other shinobi didn’t even have a chance to react. Naruto shoved the body off the blade before driving the katana into the ground and standing slowly, the rain growing harder around him washing the blood from his flesh. His skin nearly sizzled from the rain and his yellow eyes narrowed.

“Come at me or don’t come at all!” he challenged loudly. No answer came except for the rolling thunder above him. He snarled to himself before bounding forward, the chakra throbbed heavily inside of him knowing those who had met to challenge him had fled, possibly to warn the one he was after.

“I’m coming for you,” he growled low in his throat. “And we’re going to end this,” his and Kyuubi’s voice laced together as his blackening eyes narrowed, three whipping chakra tails cutting like fire through the rain.

And I love Zetsu, I was debating if I was going to use him…but then the thought of him eating Sasuke and Seiko and talking about them was amusing to me…I know I’m sick and twisted lol. LadyRonin: Yeah..when I was writing its something I realized because if you really think about it..if he didn’t have Kyuubi…I believe he would really be a much more quiet indivicule, more unsure of himself..but that’s my own opinion, lol. Well..as you can see…he’s KINDA canon. Kinda. Lol..and I’m so happy my story is making you think!! That’s always a good thing!! –giggles-

Again just have to say, amazing chapter! Or this one….Maybe the next one?? Maybe? Yes..? No?....LOL..maybe!! LOL..there will be more Zetsu in the next chapter, I promise!! I had so much fun writing him lolz. I’m so happy you love this story, I’m doing the best I can! And I love writing it!!
