Appearance difference between ages 16 and 20: For awhile, Gaara kept his boyish looks as Kazekage, but soon realized that they weren't doing him any favors. The decision was made to take on more adult looks, which included a rather dramatic haircut and kept facial hair. He also pierced his own ears several times, enjoying how it looked. For the most part, the roundness in Gaara's face has slimmed out to that of a young man. As for height, after hitting puberty slightly late, he has grown 4 more inches since he was 16, topping off at 5'7. This is more than likely due to a change of lifestyle.

Personality: Over the years, Gaara's rage has subsided. However, if his friends or family are threatened, he is not a person to be fucked with. He is often grumpy in the mornings before his coffee, but those close to him have noticed a more pleasant attitude since Shiro's arrival. Even though his brother and sister were originally suspicious and not accepting of Shiro, they have grown tolerate his presence if it means that Gaara is happy. Their little brother has not had a lot of joy in his life and deserves some. Even now, Gaara does not exactly know how to show or be affectionate. He is grateful for Shiro, for he truly believed that he would be alone because of this.

After Sakura's betrayal, Gaara effectively gained the trust of the Hidden Leaf Village and crushed the ideas of him gaining power through marriage. He is a powerful debater, despite his age, and has rallied support against her and Kabuto. He has also gained more leverage in his harboring of Naruto and Sasuke over the past year. Regarding Shiro's confession that he might be a 'monster', Gaara still accepts his concubine for whatever he might be. Knowing all too well what it was like to have the fear of a beast overtake your soul, Gaara's deep understanding has calmed Shiro's nerves, for the moment. In regards to his siblings, he is rather pleased that his sister has a son and often visits. He gets anxious around children, so he will only offer to babysit as long as Shiro handles the feeding and changing. He even gets anxious around Kana and Shino Uzumaki. Gaara is also notoriously terrible at making jokes, as they often come off as morbid.

Sexuality: Gaara is genuinely bi-sexual. He has been attracted to a various mix of men and women since he was a young teen, finding strength and brutality a very sexual thing. Later, he found kindness attractive and since meeting Naruto, had favored him for many years. The feeling was confirmed when Naruto saves Gaara's life after being kidnapped by the Akatsuki. Despite this, Gaara has always known that Naruto had feelings for Sasuke, and never brought them up. He has had several partners when it comes to sex, but none which he kept for romantic purposes. He has a terrible habit of bedding a partner, then when they get too clingy, he would bury himself in work while finding them someone else to be romantically involved with. Several of his partners have already gotten married with children of their own. It was to everyone's surprises that he announced Shiro as his formal concubine. Despite rumors, Gaara has been absolutely faithful.

In bed, Gaara found out that he enjoys normal things with Shiro that he didn't with anyone else. He likes to sleep together, most of all, curling his body around Shiro's coolness.  Even though Shiro has to sleep with many blankets, his body evens the temperature for Gaara. When Shiro leaves the bed, Gaara does wake up almost immediately and notices...

Appearance difference between ages 10 and 19: Shiro remembers being a young boy with mouse brown hair and hazel eyes, but he also remembers being a giant white snake, similar to Orochimaru's. He honestly doesn't know if he was the boy or the snake that ate him. Upon first meeting, Shiro's left eye was missing, but has since grown back. The boy had short hair and tanned skin. When Shiro first appeared, he had extremely long white hair that surprised Gaara. His skin is very pale, with a reflective glow and outline of scales. Touched, it feels like normal skin, except is unnaturally cool.  His eyes are green, slit with black like the snake he remembers and exactly the same as Orochimaru. People make note at how tall he is, towering over Gaara, who doesn't seem to mind. He is also very thin. Recently, while sleepwalking, he used a kunai to chop off his long locks to that of the boy from his memories. It was only after he awakened, did he notice what he did.

Personality: Shiro has a personality like tofu, according to Kankuro. He takes after whatever Gaara likes, as he cares about the Kazekage very much. He is extremely loyal and subservient only to Gaara, while rather defiant to everyone else. His name, Shiro, came from Gaara seeing his white hair (as Shiro means white), and it is a common name for a dog. Shiro follows Gaara around everywhere, unless told not to. At first, he had to cover up his hair and face, but has been allowed when he was announced as the Kazekage's formal concubine to show his face and hair in public.

Despite his puppy personality, Shiro is extremely intelligent. He was trained by Kabuto and knows most of his secrets and medical techniques, which includes a very similar fighting style. When not with Gaara, he does research in the lab and helps medical stuff with cures to poisons and other boggling medical issues that arise. He also gathers information for Gaara, and it was he who told the Kazekage about Prince Akane's family and poisonous flower techniques.  He is also very cheerful, playfully smiling and laughing most of the time. This infectious behavior has rubbed off on Gaara.

More than anything, Shiro fears that he is not in control of himself. The more he learns about Kabuto's research, the more he fears he might harm Gaara. He is not afraid of his life cycle ending, more than what the 'ending' actually means. Plagued with nightmares about his past and his body changing, he fears what Kabuto's plans truly were for him.

Sexuality: Shiro has no sexual interest. He is not the one who comes to Gaara, but he would never think of denying it. He was not sexually used by Kabuto, and Gaara was his first.  He is not attracted to other people, and has not interest in a romantic relationship. This does not, however, stop him from being confused over Gaara's intentions. Shiro genuinely is happy with Gaara, but will try to put things in logically terms, unfortunately, there isn't one.
