I do not own Naruto, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Painful realizations.
Author's Note: Hope you dig this second chapter. It seemed to go over well on my personal site. If you notice any editing issues, feel free to email or IM me and let me know... constructive feedback is more valuable than I can explain.
Disclaimer: Naruto & friends don't belong to me... but that's okay, because I don't make any money off this. I do this for fun and for free, can you believe it? OMFG!
Uchiha Sasuke walked into class the next day, hands stuffed in his pockets, staring at the ground. Maybe Naruto will be late, he thought. Maybe he’s sick. He would do anything to avoid seeing him today. Not today… not while memories of last night were still fresh in his mind. Sasuke took his usual seat, glancing sideways at the other members of the class. There were only a few people there so far… Nara Shikamaru was there, but sound asleep with his head on his crossed arms. Inuzuka Kiba and Akamaru were in the back, sharing strips of dried meat.
Sasuke thought he was in the clear until he heard a slamming door and that unmistakable voice. “Sakura-chan! Saaaaakura!” Naruto shouted from the hallway. A moment later, Sakura stalked in, obviously annoyed, and followed closely by Uzumaki Naruto himself. Sasuke felt the blush creep up from his collarbone before he could stop himself, and he busied himself checking his equipment holsters.
Unfortunately for Sasuke, he couldn’t make himself invisible, but he had at least managed to control his outward embarrassment to a dull flush. “Sasuke-kun!” Sakura shouted. “Sasuke!” Sakura came and sat beside Sasuke, while Naruto took up the remaining seat, on Sasuke’s other side.
Sakura began, “Sasuke, I was thinking you and I could meet up after school today, maybe you can teach me that shuriken technique you’ve hinted at. You say it’s so great, but I haven’t seen it. What do you think?”
Without completely realizing what he was doing, he snapped, “No. Naruto and I are practicing today. Maybe later.”
Naruto blinked, eyes wide with that utterly befuddled look he could wear so readily. Sasuke kicked him beneath the desk and shot him a look that demanded silence. Naruto wrinkled his nose, snarling a little, but stayed quiet, and gave Sasuke an answering nod.

After class, Sakura left in a huff, proclaiming loudly that she had errands to run and couldn’t be bothered. Sasuke fidgeted with his kunai holster uselessly, then muttered, “Let’s go.” He couldn’t very well brush Naruto off now, he’d risk Naruto making a big deal of it. If Sakura found out the lie, she’d most likely ferret out the truth behind why Sasuke had lied. She may be annoying, Sasuke thought, But she isn’t a fool.
Naruto followed along quietly for once, no doubt contemplating Sasuke’s motives behind wanting to train with him. Once they were safely off school grounds, Naruto spoke up. “Sasuke?” he asked. Sasuke said nothing, but tilted his head back to indicate that he was listening. Naruto continued. “What do you want? What are you up to? You say I’m not as good as you, so it can’t be that you wanna learn from me. You’re rude to Sakura-chan, so it isn’t that you want advice on how to get her to like you -- like you need that, anyway.” Naruto folded his arms across his chest, sticking his lower lip out in his customary childish pout.
“Shut up,” Sasuke said. He was losing his nerve, and knew he had to say it soon, or his courage would completely leave him. They’d reached the clearing outside of the village where Sasuke did most of his shuriken and kunai training. It was quiet there, and almost always abandoned since it was where Uchiha Itachi had done most of his training before… before that. He took his shuriken holster and kunai pouch off, laying them on the ground near a tree stump.
“Sasuke… what are you doing?” Naruto asked. As always, he talked too much. Sasuke snapped, “Sit down.” It had come across more sharply than he’d meant, but what’s done was done. “I… want to talk to you.”
Naruto raised his eyebrows quizzically and said, “What about? You’re acting weird, Sasuke. You didn’t even hear what Iruka-sensei was saying in class, did you? He called on you and you didn’t answer, and it was an easy question. You just acted like he hadn’t even said anything. What the hell is wrong with you? Ans--”
He didn’t get another word out, because at that moment Sasuke blurted out the most uncharacteristic phrase Naruto had ever heard him utter: “I love you.”
Naruto blushed, sweat beading on his forehead as he moved slightly away from Sasuke. “Wh… what?” he stammered. “I don’t…”
Sasuke dropped his eyes to the ground, utterly humiliated now. What have I done? he thought. I’ve ruined it. Goddamn it. He’d said the one thing he’d promised himself he wouldn’t say, the one thing he wasn’t truly sure of, and now he’d blown his only chance. What have I got to lose now?
Sasuke slid closer to Naruto, resting his hand on Naruto’s thigh. “I know you think I hate you, Naruto-kun. And maybe I did, for a while. But…” He moved his hand inward, skating his fingertips right past Naruto’s penis. Naruto drew in his breath sharply, his back straightening suddenly. “I was wrong, I don’t know if I really love you, but I do know I can’t stop thinking about you. Only Itachi consumes my thoughts more.” He moved still closer now, his breath warm and moist on Naruto’s ear. “You are my only equal, Naruto, and you’re such a challenge…”
His hand was moving freely now, unzipping the fly of Naruto’s pants, tugging at the flap of his boxers. Naruto swatted his hand away and stared in wide-eyed amazement at Sasuke. “Stop it! What the hell are you doing?” he cried. “I don’t understand this… you… you’ve never wanted me around, and now you’re hanging on me like one of those girls from Kakashi-sensei’s books! Who the hell are you?”
Sasuke jumped back as if struck. After all this time, all the missions they’d gone on together, Naruto still didn’t understand. They were alone, but they were alone together, in the exact same boat. There was so much they could learn from each other, they would be utterly unstoppable. Even Itachi would be unable to withstand them. Couldn’t Naruto see that? Didn’t he get it? He covered the pain and rejection as he always had, by burying it under another, better emotion -- anger.
He glanced upward to see Naruto trying to zip his fly. Sasuke flew at him in a blind rage, an uppercut striking Naruto on the jaw. “Shit!” Naruto yelled. “Stop it!” Sasuke grabbed a kunai from the pouch nearby and lunged at Naruto a second time. Naruto dodged, but not quickly enough. The kunai whistled through the air and pinned Naruto’s shirt to the ground. He pulled away, tearing the fabric from his skin. Sasuke had a second kunai out immediately, and with a flick of his wrist had positioned the blade for another throw. He feigned a toss to Naruto’s left, but when he saw the boy move to avoid the strike, he threw the kunai to Naruto’s right instead. It struck Naruto square in the shoulder, wounding his right arm. Sasuke grinned, wild-eyed and consumed completely by his frenzy.
“That’s fine. I’m not good enough, whatever. Everyone compares me to that butcher Itachi, and I’ll never be good enough!” Sasuke’s voice was nearing a fever pitch at this point, cracking as he became continuously more excited. “I’ll show you all.” He reached across and pushed the kunai deeper into Naruto’s shoulder, laughing wildly. Naruto’s shrill scream pierced the still air of the forest.
“I said shut the fuck up!” Sasuke screamed. “You’d fuck Itachi, wouldn’t you? They all would! He’s so goddamn perfect, you’d just bend right over, wouldn’t you? But I give you everything I’ve got, I fight you with all I have, all my years of hard work, and you clumsily stumble onto stronger jutsus and have more chakra than I can begin to understand!” He struck Naruto hard across the face, then pressed the wound on Naruto’s shoulder, now bleeding freely onto the crushed grass. “Well fuck you, Uzumaki Naruto! Let’s see you use your goddamned Kage Bunshin no Jutsu now, asshole! Without that one stupid seal, you’re useless. Look at you!”
He drew back and struck Naruto again and again, tears forming at the corners of his eyes. He felt the now-familiar ache between his legs, and knew that he wanted, more than anything, to touch this beautiful body he now seemed so intent on breaking. Naruto lay beneath him, breathing hard and bleeding copiously, but Sasuke knew he was far from down. Something else kept Naruto there, or he wouldn’t be taking this beating. Brushing the thought aside, he reached down and pulled Naruto’s pants down around his ankles.
A tear crept past his dark lashes as he looked down at what he had done. He hastily moved Naruto’s legs to one side, exposing his tan, muscular buttocks. He dipped his index finger in the blood seeping from Naruto’s wound. He brought his hand to his lips, sucking the blood from his fingertips. His passion was heightening unbelievably now, and without warning, he thrust into Naruto.
Oh, God, Sasuke thought. Naruto bit down on his lip, saying nothing. Sasuke pushed Naruto’s legs together, tightening Naruto’s hole around his cock. Sasuke felt the first drops of blood smear across his erection as he pounded in and out of his classmate’s body. And yet Naruto remained taciturn, bearing the punishment without a sound. Sasuke held Naruto’s legs to one side of his body with his left hand, and grabbed Naruto’s hair with his right.
Naruto looked him straight in the eye, and a jolt shot down Sasuke’s spine. “I…” Naruto muttered. “I understand, Sasuke.” As if further angered by this, Sasuke thrust still harder, and Naruto moaned quietly. This… this is so much better than I could have imagined, Sasuke thought. I never knew… I never knew what this could be like… Sasuke leaned his head down, his black locks falling in his face, and Naruto moved his wounded right arm up toward his friend, shakily touching his face.
He never lost eye contact with Sasuke, not even when the pain nearly overwhelmed him. Soon Sasuke’s breathing grew irregular, and Naruto could feel Sasuke’s heartbeat echoed in his own, as they pounded in time with one another. Sasuke’s eyes widened, and he leaned closer to Naruto. He whispered, his breath sounding raspy to his own ears: “Naruto, I’m…” He shuddered, and bucking his hips into Naruto, driving his shaft far into Naruto’s ravaged body. His body shook, and Naruto stretched out his arms, taking Sasuke into his embrace. Sasuke’s breath caught in his throat, and he was rocked by powerful spasms as his orgasm shot through him. He pulled out of Naruto and lay beside him, breathing heavily. He reached down unsteadily to caress Naruto’s thighs and ass, and was surprised to feel the amount of blood and semen pooled there. A frown darkened his brooding face, and he looked at Naruto questioningly.
Naruto nodded, saying nothing. It was a different Naruto who lay there, a quiet, almost melancholic Naruto, and Sasuke couldn’t help but feel responsible. He had no idea what the future might hold, but he knew he couldn’t allow his passion to control him like it had. Although he didn’t understand why Naruto hadn’t fought back, hadn’t tried to escape, a nagging fear still lingered, that he might have lost his friend forever.
