Dawn approached, filling the horizon with the new light of the day. Sasuke raced lightly across the tops of the houses landing gently outside a small tucked away home on the outside of the village. It seemed well kept compared to the apartment he used to live in.
“You don’t have authorization to be here,” a cool voice said from behind him. Not bothering to even glance back at the Kunoichi, Sasuke moved to the nearest window and slid it open. Whirling around, he suddenly caught the fist in the palm of his hand diffusing all the chakra that Sakura had stored in it.
“If you want me to find him, do not stop me.” His eyes were narrowed at the young woman. Sakura tugged her fist from his hand, her green eyes glowering at the former teammate.
“I don’t understand why she’s sending you,” the woman hissed. “Any one of us would be better suited in bringing him back then you; you’re nothing but a traitor!”
Sasuke turned back around towards the house feeling her heated gaze upon his back; he stopped once more and looked back at her,
“I have every right to search for him as anyone else does,” he said calmly before slipping inside the house. If his former teammate made any reply he ignored it and stared at the spotlessness of the particular room he ended up in. His eyes widened in surprise before fading just as quickly into the expressionless mask. He had come through the bedroom window and his eyes grazed past the made bed and onto the spotless floor. Nothing lay hurriedly tossed or moved as if in haste, the carpet held no dirt or grime. He moved through the dark room quietly and slid open a closet door—only emptiness met his eyes. Shutting it he moved onto another door to the right of the closet—it was a small bathroom. Peering inside he inspected the sink and the glass paned shower closely—not a spot of dried water could be seen. Sasuke drifted back through to the bedroom and didn’t bat an eye seeing Sakura there as well.
“Has anyone been here since he left?” he asked flatly while pulling out a bedside drawer. It also was devoid of anything that would show a human had lived in the room.
“No one,” she replied stonily. Sasuke stood and opened the bedroom door to the rest of the house. Just a small hallway lined with pure white walls met his view. A compact kitchen was to his left and a living room to his right. Sliding his fingers on the white walls he stared at them; there were no pictures, paintings, posters or sayings on the white faces. His onyx eyes narrowed as he entered the kitchen and opened the first cupboard to his left, it was empty, then another. Naruto didn’t seem to own a single dish or any glasses. He turned and walked towards the living and heard the woman gasp in said room. She stood staring at the sparse living room; there was one simple light tan couch, a table with a lamp and nothing else. The cleanliness of the entire house was the most unnerving detail.
“He’s never lived here,” Sasuke said slowly. His ears picked up the early song of birds and the raven knew he would need to leave the home. Sasuke whipped around and headed towards the bedroom.
“What do you mean by that, I’ve been here before…” Sasuke tuned out the rest of her comment as he entered the unused bedroom; grazing his eyes along the blank wall he caught a small crack going from the floor to about two feet below the ceiling. Placing one pale hand on it he pressed inward. It gave way just so. Within a few second the hidden door was opened revealing what lay inside.
“Uchiha I swear if you don’t answer me I’ll bring this house down around our…Kami…” Sakura stopped short staring into the small closet space. On the walls were leather holders for different lengths of katanas, bows, and short break away staffs. Underneath the leather holders and against the walls were two short tables with opened boxes. There were small slices of where kunai used to be and the other had ready made slits for shurikens. His eyes moved down to the floor where a neat pile of scrolls lay. Crouching he moved through them inspecting each one, all of them S-rank jutsus and forbidden to the main shinobi public because of how dangerous they were.
“I’m sure these were stolen from the Hokage towers,” Sasuke said softly and stood sweeping from the small hidden room and past the still gaping Kunoichi.
“I’ve seen enough,” he said before disappearing as the sun’s first light hit the floor of the pristine white carpets.

A shadow moved through the thickening forests south of Konoha, keeping well above the known shinobi paths. Every one of his senses was on the highest alert. He could hear every rustle of leaves, smell the musk and sweat of humans miles away, and feel the tremors of movement through the trees. It was already the second day of his travels. The second day since he broke away from Konoha. Hooded blue eyes darted back to where he had just come before he dropped to the ground, feeling he had moved far enough away from the village. He could feel the new sun’s rays hitting his face through the trees, and also the weight of the small arsenal of weapons he had hidden beneath the traveling clothes. The second his feet touched the ground the perfect genjutsu illusion was enacted. His body shimmered briefly before the locks of hair lengthened and darkened the complexion of his skin lightened, his bright cerulean eyes faded to a piercing jade and the whiskers, his most recognized features, disappeared completely.
He had practiced this genjutsu for endless hours, perfecting it, strengthening it, making it to point where not even Byakugan eyes or Sharingan eyes could see through it. After all, it was one of the other forbidden jutsus.
‘That you stole from the Hokage towers…for the second time,’ He thought bitterly to himself, scuffing his geta (1) sandals lightly in the ground before he continued his travels on foot.

Kiba slammed a fist to a tree in his anger for the fifth time ignoring the how said tree creaked in protest before it fell splintered to the ground. Akamaru whined at his master’s side, concerned because his master had not shown such anger in many years.
“Destroying our training ground will not bring him back.” A voice said from above. Kiba’s mouth curled up in a snarl at the comment.
“That stupid fucking Sai…it’s still pissing me off,” he replied not looking over as Shino landed quietly next to him.
“You don’t get so hot-blooded over a few words anymore,” said the soft voice and Shino pushed the sunglasses up the bridge of his nose, avidly looking at the Inuzuka. Kiba sent a heated glower in his direction. Shino was unfazed by it.
“Naruto isn’t some coward,” he growled, fists clenching angrily and he sent another furious punch at the trunk of an unsuspecting tree next to him. The bark bit into his already bleeding skin and the hit left a large dent in bark.
“…..No, he isn’t.” Shino’s low voice sounded nearer to him and Kiba raised his fist to finish off the tree when a quick pale hand caught his wrist.
“Sakura is coming, I feel she has news,” the bug-manipulator said quietly and as he finished his sentence the pink-headed Kunoichi landed in front of them.
“I’m calling a mandatory meeting…can you both meet at the memorial stones within ten minutes?” she asked quickly, looking from Kiba then to Shino. The dog nin lowered his hand and nodded once and Shino inclined his head.
“We’ll be there,” Shino said for both of them and Sakura was gone in a cloud of whirling smoke. Kiba yanked out a piece of strip cloth and quickly began wrapping it around his knuckles, hands and wrists, the blood quick to seep through. Shrugging he flexed his fingers once before glancing at his teammate.
“Let’s go?” he inquired, his temper simmered enough to let the curiosity of the Sakura’s meeting come to the forefront; Shino only nodded once. Kiba jerked his head while giving out a short whistle to Akamaru.
“Come on boy, let’s go,” he said and he grabbed a tuft of fur swinging onto the large beige back of his dog, he bounded up through the forest and disappeared among the trees. Shino gazed the wreckage once before his insects covered his own departure.

Sasuke moved at speeds no normal eye could track. Signs of any passage were either long gone, well enough hidden to the point that his own eyes could not even catch or a false trail. Naruto had left plenty of those. Sasuke mind stayed focused on the task at hand but as he landed on another branch he glanced down at the foliage below, broken twigs, crushed grass and the sight of geta sandal tracks could be seen. He stared at it; no shinobi would leave a blatant trail like that. His activated Sharingan and could find nothing indicating that this person used any chakra and he let out a soft snort.
“I’m impressed,” he muttered under his breath darting up back into the trees.
