Rocky Paths

This is a little look into the little aspects of the life they move into as they learn to live with one another. Born from thoughts have been bugging me since I finished the original. Which was meant to be a one shot, but I have feeling will turn into more. Even if just a little.

PieldeLava- Thank you for the comment, I'm glad that I was able to achieve what I was going for.

Enjoy-

Neji smiled slightly at the blond as he tipped the cup off the table. He caught it, only spilling a drop on the floor, before moving it back into it's place. He used the cloth napkin to clean the tea off the floor.
He looked up from the scroll he was examining, manged to keep the his smile from falling as he watched Sasuke's eyes examining Naruto intently.
The Uchiha heir, was holding himself in check, as Naruto tried to talk enough to keep any questions from coming forth.
The confidence that they both loved about the blond, was alive and well. And he was relaxing in to this at time foreign relationship.

It hadn't taken Neji long to admit that enjoyed watching Sasuke and Naruto make love. It was thrilling to him to watch the Raven in control. Naruto may find solstice in the strength of Sasuke's arms. But, Neji saw that Naruto was once again giving more than taking. Sasuke needed the control, to have one part of his life he could control. And in bed Sasuke dominated, in every aspect of the word.
And the Raven was happy with it after a fashion.
But slowly, Neji could see that it was starting to make Sasuke try to dominate other parts of Naruto's life. Sasuke would often be trembling to take control and protect Naruto.
Blue eyes suddenly went wide.
“Oh, Crap.”
Both men where brought out of their thoughts.
“I have to meet the Hag.”
He stood downing the tea in one gulp.
He pressed quick kisses to each man and ran out the door in frenzy.
Pale eyes watched him go with a small smile.
“Never on time.”
He said softly looking back at Sasuke. Who was holding himself still.
“You can't stop him,” Neji voice turned serious.
“I accepted that long ago.”
Sasuke's eyes where on Neji.
“He was hurt, badly two days ago.”
Sasuke's hands wrapped around the tea cup.
“ I was there also.” Neji said.
“They send him on missions, that are too dangerous. They are counting on the demon in him to keep him alive.”
Neji sighed.
“He wants to be Hokage, he can't get there by tip toeing around. He knows that.”
He moved forward setting his elbows on the table. Drawing Sasuke out of his dark thoughts.
“We know that.”
Neji said firmly.
“If they would let me do missions, I could be sent.”
Neji could feel himself becoming flustered by the Raven's one track mind.
“And Naruto would be frightened, would you do that to him.”

Sasuke glared at Neji. Unspoken word floated in the air. Subjects they didn't bring up. That left, a straining tension between them.
“I know how you feel.”
Their eyes met,White held Black.
“Every time, he went after you. I was angry, I was scared. He was up against forces that would happily crush him. When he failed he was being crushed by his own failure.”
Neji calmly poured himself some more tea.
“ all I could do was be at his bedside, and love him.”
Neji smiled softly.
“I wanted him to know, I was proud. And loved him for having relentless strength to seek you.”
Neji's followed the steam moving up and away from the line of tea, past the edge of the cup.
“When he finally brought you back.”
He paused pondering weather he should talk about this. Sasuke's sanity was always in question. It was one of the main reasons he'd not been allowed back to missions of any sort. If he'd spoken for himself as this trial. He'd most likely been put away. Killing his brother had destroyed something in him. Perhaps the only one who would know what was dead. Every tragic aspect that made up the Uchina was a mystery to the village who had been so proud of the family that was now nothing more than memory.

Neji often wondered if it wasn't that pride, that had some part in wiping the family from existence.

“I had hoped, honestly they would put you away.”
Neji looked up at Sasuke.
“But, I knew in a fashion that would kill him.”

“I know I have much to thank him for.” Sasuke said softly.

Neji could only nod. In a way he was avoiding his problem, his need to keep Naruto safe from the evils of the world.

Neji could only nod. In a way he was avoiding his problem, his need to keep Naruto safe from the evils of the world. He had to sympathize with the man, because many times he'd felt the same way.

“He won't receive orders for a few more days. They have to be sure he is okay. With the places they send him, can't afford that he isn't.”

He watched the black eyes soften a bit.
“We'll have to find ways to keep him busy, you know how he gets when there is no activity.”
A smirk danced in to place.
“Or when he gets attention starved.”
Sasuke said, his eyes settling on his own warm tea.
Neji snorted softly.
“How in existence he could be attention starved with two of us is beyond me.”
A comfort settled between them again.
“But, we'll find something for him to do.”
Neji said bringing the cup to softly curving lips.
