Foxes vs. Snakes

"Chapter 1: The girl, the rival, and.... the stalker?!?!"

Eyes of blond lashes squeezed to stay shut as the stinging sunlight peeked through the curtains.
There was shifting and ruffling beneath the covers, then a excessively alarm went off.

"mmmh..... kusoo..."

A tanned arm reached over and slapped the alarm off, then stretches.
The blond sat up and looked over at the clock, "'.....7:00 am.' He fell back down on the bed with a sigh, but this time his eyes stayed open, half mast as he just stared up at the ceiling.

"First day of school..." He said in a groggy voice as he slowly turned to roll off the bed, feet landed first as he staggered over to a pile of clothing and picked up his favorite t-shirt, it was orange with a faded red swirl in the middle of the chest. He brought it up to his nose and sniffed it. He pondered then pulled it over his head, putting it on after deciding it was good enough to wear. He also put on a pair of worn out baggy blue jeans over his blue,orange, and black plaid boxers. The pants fit snuggly on his hips, making a belt unnecessary.

He walked over to the bathroom which was behind a door connected to his room so he could brush his teeth, wash his face, and empty any bodily fluids.

"Ahh, thats better!" He said while exiting the bathroom, feeling more awake. He walked over to the window and opened the blinds, his window was placed in the front of the building which was facing the street from a dead end road. He placed his hands on his hips and a grin had spread on his face. Blue eyes looked down the street of houses and mini market stores, loving the look of the peaceful scene and people waking to do their morning errands.' He then looks at the clock on the table next to his bed, it now read 7:12.

He put on a pair of socks and his vans skateboarder shoes. Grabbing his bag on his way out the bedroom door he entered hallway. It was long, there was three more doors on his side of the hall; he being on the end; and four on the other side, eight rooms total.
He walked down to the other end of the hall way, meeting a stairwell at the end that went downwards.

Naruto was on the third floor of the orphanage. He has lived here for as long as he could remember.

"Oh Naruto, is that you?" asked an elderly voice. Naruto was at the bottom of the steps as he looked up at the man.

"Yea, hows it going Sarutobi-jiisan?!" He said with a grin.
A wise looking old man smoking a pipe looked over to the stairs from a kitchen door, which was just across a decent sized living room. Naruto walked across, passing furniture and a few random toys on the ground to enter the kitchen, going straight to the fridge. Sarutobi-jiisan was sitting in his usual seat in the wooden chair next to the door his pipe in hand as he drank a mug of coffee, reading the Weekly Konoha Times. Naruto opened the fridge and took out the container of orange juice and drank straight from it.

"Naruto, don't drink from the gallon....."

"Mah, why? You don't care. And if they don't know it wont hurt them." He said while grinning like a fool.

Sarutobi only grinned back before changing the topic. "There's eggs left over from when I cooked for Konohamaru and the other kids before they left for school."

"Thanks!" Naruto looked to the stove seeing the left over scrambled eggs sitting in the frying pan, burner set on low to keep it warm. After putting the milk back into the fridge he grabbed the loaf of bread that is on the far end of the counter and took two slices out of the bag, inserting them into the toaster.

"You have Iruka as a teacher again this year?"

"Mmn yea I do, for Ancient Japan History and folklore i think."

"Sounds interesting..." Sarutobi said with grin, that seemed unreadable to Naruto, though he didn't put to much thought into it. "Tell him I say hello would you?"

"Sure thing." The Toast then popped up, Naruto grabbed the jar of the peanut butter and jelly swirls and opened it after pulling a butter knife from the drawer. He sloppily spread it on his toast, then he looked at the eggs, his face becomes distorted, while he seemingly is thinking. Sarutobi watched amused as Naruto pondered knowing the outcome of this pause of movement. Then Naruto grabbed the frying pan by the handle and used the spatula to pick up the eggs and apply it to his toast. He set the pan down and put the second slice on top. He picked up the sandwich and turned towards Sarutobi though he is focused on his new invention. After a minute of glaring at his sandwich he bites into it, and slowly chews. His lips turn up into a grin as he chews and takes another bite while walking towards the door.

"See you later Jii-san!"

"Mmm..." He replied with still an amused expression on his face.

Naruto left the building feeling good about school starting. He's determined to be successful in life even though he's a slacker a lot of the time. But he had a feeling this year was going to be different, and it excited him!

He took the city bus to school, the most popular high school in town, Leaf High. It was also well known across the land. Most of the students there entered into Kage University. A collage that the most knowledgeable and successful people graduated from. This was one of the blonds dreams, to show everyone that he was worth paying attention to, and taken seriously. In class he's considered annoying and obnoxious, though that doesn't stop him from trying to get attention either.

He gets off the bus and walks a couple blocks till he reaches the school grounds. It was full of students and he greeted them all with a blinding grin as he walked to the entrance.

This year he was in homeroom class A. He already knew his long time crush, 'Haruno Sakura' was in there with him. He was just devastated to find out his rival, in.... every thing, was there too. So here he was in the class room doorway glaring daggers at one Uchiha Sasuke, whom had both a Yakamura Ino and Sakura on each arm sitting beside him, there desks pushed close to his. Naruto feeling irritated glares at the raven whom just glared back.

Sasuke is dreading the way these two girls hang on him every year, and how the annoying jealous blond dobe whom seemed to never have enough of pissing him off. He sees the Aqua orbs darken as he looked at him. As much as Sasuke wanted to get these girls off him he enjoyed tormenting the blond, he just wished for a chance to do that with out drooling and bickering felines on him.

He watched as the blond walked in his direction and switched his angry face to that blinding bright happy one.

"Hi Sakura-Chan~! Good morning Ino!" He ignored the raven as he attempted to grab the pinkettes attention.

Ino waved at Naruto saying hi. Sakura ,whom as facing Sasuke, looked over her shoulder to Naruto, showing little to no interest. "Naruto, what is it...?" She said it calmly but obviously in a tone that seemed uninviting. Ino grinned knowing full well that Naruto was head over heels for her rival.

Naruto inwardly frowned but kept his grin in place. "Mah, I was wondering if you would mind sitting with me during lunch."

"No, sorry but I have other plans." She flatly responded.

"Ah ok! What about after school. I'll bring you to a movie, or for ice cream!" Naruto pressed on.

Sakura gowned. "No! Leave me alone Naruto, your so annoying!" She looked back to Sasuke in a hurry, a blush raising to her cheeks as she looks at the perfectly stoic man in front of her. His coal black hair, and those deep dark pools for eyes. Oh if only they were directed at her with lust and love. She continued into her fantasy. 'beautiful' she thought.

Naruto long ago noticing that he lost her attention turns away and continues to the back of the room with a look of disappointment in his eyes. Which quickly changed to cheery again as he reached his group of looser friends, as Sasuke put it. The raven whom seemed lost in his own deep serious thoughts, noticed how quickly the blond changed moods. It was weird, he's been going to school with him for three years and this was the first time he noticed that the blond was more than just obnoxious and stubborn. He seemed...... lonely.

This got to the raven though he pushed it into the back of his mind, not really being a person who worried about feelings at all. Plus he didn't give a damn what was wrong with the blond anyhow, the guy was irritating.

Naruto beamed his smile at a tired looking Nara. Or a sleeping one..... Nara Shikamaru was a brunette with shoulder length hair pulled back in a tall ponytail. He had his head on his folded arms and was seated in the back of the room by the window. Naruto leaned his face in towards Shikamaru once he was standing next to the desk. He moved his lips close to a tanned ear, his plump lips parted and a intake of breath was taken then-

"Wakey wakey sleepy head!!!!! Rise and shine!!!!!!!" Naruto shouted, as he straightened up.

Shikamaru flinched up, looking startled then noticing the blond with that ridiculous smile on his face. "Naruto....."

Naruto just continued to smile as he took the seat in front of him. "Ohiyo, Shika!"

"......troublesome......" He responded but acknowledged Naruto with a slight grin.

The class room door opened ten minutes after the bell rang to start homeroom. A tall man with wacky platinum blond/silver hair entered. He wore a dust mask, an eye patch placed on the left eye, and blue teeshirt with black slacks and blue flipflops.

Naruto looked at the guy. 'what a weirdo' Naruto grinned widely as the teacher walked towards the big desk in the front of the room. He opened the middle desk drawer and his eyes widened comically as a big fat slimy toad hopped and splatted against his face. Everyone in the room laughed, Naruto being the loudest.

"AHAhahahaha!!! Welcome to class A1 Sensei!!!!!!!" Naruto yelled

"Oh! Thank you thank you." The man said as he peeled the toad from his face, seeming to be completely fine with it.

Naruto feeling like he accomplished something leaned back and grinned as he watched the teacher curiously.

"My name is Hatake Kakashi, I'll be your home room teacher this year. Now Lets start with introductions. Stand up and introduce yourself, and tell us your likes, dislikes, and goals." Everyone gowned. "Lets start with whoever it was that left me with this new pet!"

Naruto beamed his most enthusiastic grin and he stood up, through his chair around and stomped his foot on it as he leaned his arm on his knee and posed proudly. Everyone looked and him and he loved it. The attention energized him more as he spoke.

"I'm the great and attractive Uzumaki Naruto! I like ramen, women (he glances at a particular pink head), and kicking ass!" People laughed. "I hate Ass holes (looks at a certain raven), douche bags (sill looking at him), and Vegetables!" Another round of laughter as he faked a gagging motion. "And my goal in life...." His azure eyes seemed to sparkle with delight as he continued speaking. ".... is to become the most well known, acknowledged, honored, and respected man in Konoha!" The room looked at the blond in shock, Kakashi just raising an eyebrow. Naruto hasn't openly said anything to serious and passionate before. It was shocking to people that had classes with him before, and a equally shocked raven whom covered any such emotion that may show with a look of disbelief and snorted, gaining the blonds and everyone elses attention.

"As if, dobe." The class room laughed.

"Teme!!!" Naruto pushed away the chair he was stepping on and began to move towards a certain target, but was stopped by a tan hand on his wrist. He looked back at a lazy Shikamaru, then back at Sasuke. The bastard smirked in victory. Smothering the blond for all he's worth. God it felt good.

Naruto sat down in defeat, sending a threatening glare at the bastard, that said that he'll pay. Sasuke accepted the challenge with his Uchiha glare and cocky grin.

"sigh....troublesome...." Shika mumbled.

"Okay then, Nice to meet you Naruto! Next?" Kakashi asked.

Next to Naruto a spiky brunette stood with a wild grin on his face. Naruto grinned forgetting about a raven entirely knowing that the brunette would volunteer after him.

"The name's Inuzuka Kiba! My likes are, my awesome dog Akamaru......." Girls awwed as if on cue. "....Women, and arcades!" The girls seemed less curious this time.

"Hell yes!" Naruto blurted out, giving Kiba an 'epic high five' that sounded across the room with a loud smack.

"I hate sluts, hoes, and ass holes." Kakashi sweatdroped while people laughed. "My goal is to be a wolf whisperer."

Ino looked at him oddly. "Is there even such thing?"

"Of course there is! That is how you breed domestic dogs in the first place!"

Ino just shrugged and looked away.

"Nice to meet you Kiba! Next!" said Kakashi.

"Shika wants to go!" Naruto said. Kakashi whom fully known well that he was lying replied "Oh! Wonderful lets here it, Sheek-a was it?"

Shikamaru grumbled, he knew that the teacher was just playing along. "Troublesome...." He stood slowly, not liking the attention as much but tolerated it non the less. "It's Nara Shikamaru...... My likes are cloud gazing, sleeping, and playing shogi. I dislike work, women, and other troublesome things." He ignored any retort his two friends shot at him about the women part. "I have no real goals, I just want to be a normal guy with a wife and maybe two kids with a decent middle class pay." He sat down looking relieved that the toucher was over.

Ino stood up. "Hi everyone! I'm Yamanaka Ino! I like jewelry, chocolates, and late night movies!" Kakashi looked at her in disbelief at her straight forward way of a 'hint'. "I dislike big forehead girl and her attempts at stealing whats obviously mine!"

"Nani!! Ino-Pig!!!" Sakura retorted.

Ino grinned. "And my goal in life is to become the loving mother of beautiful dark haired children." Sasuke shivered, wishing he was someplace else.

Ino sat down feeling like a winner, Sakura stood instantly. "Haruno Sakura! My likes are..." She glances at Sasuke and blushes. "... errm cooking, helping out at the nurses office, and children." She grinned feeling clever. Ino glared. "I dislike Pig faced sluts, and annoying persistent boys!" Naruto flinched. Sasuke rolled his eyes 'hypocrite" he thought.

"And my goal in life is to grow to be a successful wife and mother."She sat down feeling triumphant.

A few more people went around, and they came to a shy girl with pale eyes and long ebony hair. She timidly stood from her seat near the door. "Hyuuga Hinata." She bowed to the class politely. "M my likes...." She blushes as her eyes meet with oblivious Aqua blue ones and quickly looked away. "....are cooking, gardening, and training...." People looked at her shocked at the last bit.

"What art do you train in Hyuuga-chan?" Kakashi asked.

"Gentle fist, it is an art passed through the Hyuuga family for centuries." She responded.

"Cool!" Naruto blurted out causing the girl to blush.

"M m m my dislikes....." She felt odd many things came to her mind but none she felt appropriate for her to say. "My my dislikes......."

"Don't worry yourself Hinata we know your too nice to hate anything really." Kiba said. The brunette knew Hinata from their previous school years. He liked her in a way but he never asked the shy girl for more than friendship, because he knew what she really wanted. So he settled with protecting her like a brother and a friend.

Hinata smiled at her friend as others agreed with Kiba openly. "M my goal.... is to become stronger as a person, and become relied on rather then a burden." Naruto blinked and nodded in understanding, never realizing that the weird girl was like him in a way.

Hinata sat down nervously. Then he stood. Naruto glared.

"Name, Uchiha Sasuke." Girls instantly fawned at how cool he was. He ignored them. "My likes are non of your or anyone else's business." Naruto shifted in his seat, glaring holes into the back of the duck butt head, clenching his fists tightly at his sides. "My hate list is to long to bother sharing with the likes of you." The blond grinded his teeth together in frustration. "And I have no goal, only an ambition, that is to kill a specific man." And with that he sat down and ignored all the questioning looks he got.

Kakashi looked at his class after the last of the students introduced themselves. 'This is going to be a long year.

Naruto was bored out of his mind sitting in his last class before his lunch. He was sitting between Kiba and Shika in the back of the classroom. He thought back to homeroom, remembering how pissed of he was, then he recalled the ravens 'ambition'. 'What person does the bastard so badly want to kill anyways?' Naruto hated the thought of murder, killing, and death all together. This didn't sit well with him. It just made him hate the bastard more. Naruto flinched as a hand was placed on his shoulder, he looked over at Shikmaru who wore a serious expression and to Kiba who looked the same.

"huh?" He looked at the confused.

"Dude are you ok?" Kiba started. "Your muttering to yourself, and you seem angry..." He kept his voice low to not disturb the class.

"oh...I, I'm fine don't worry about it." He sighed and just as he looked up He made eye contact with a worried brunette teacher. 'crap' He thought. 'I just know He's going to hold me back after class.'

The bell rang and student stood up to rush off to lunch.

"Naruto can you stay here for a moment?"

Naruto sighed.

"Meet you on the top?" Kiba asked.

"Yea I'll meet you all there."

With that the two brunettes left and he walked up to the front to meet with his teacher. "Hey whats up Iruka?" He asked asking as if everything was ok and that he didn't know what the man was worried about.

"Naruto.... whats wrong? You seem bothered today."

"Huh? I don't know what your talking about." Naruto looked at the older man innocently.

"Naruto.... you know you can talk to me when you need to. Don't hide things from me."

"I'm fine! Honest, I just was deep in thought thats all! You don't need to worry about me so much, I'm practically a grown man now!"

"Hai hai, your right but you know I just care about you. Your like the little brother I never had."

"And your like the mother I never had."

"Hey! I'm a man thank you very much!"

"Heheh gomen gomen."

"Naruto...?"

"hmm?"

"Move in with me."

"Iruka, we've been over this."

"I just want to be able to help you. Come on, let me be your foster dad, or even adopt you."

"As fun as that sounds, I can't. I need to help Jii-san out at the orphanage, oh he said hi by the way............... Oh but anyways he's getting old and needs help with dealing with the brats when needed. That would be to difficult if I moved out. And i'm at the age when I can go live on my own soon any how."

"I know but-"

"Iruka, don't worry about it. I'm fine! I just wanna go to lunch." As if on que his stomich growled.

"Hehehe gomen Naruto, I guess I'll let this go. I'll talk to you later then."

"Yea, and you owe me a bowl of ramen for taking up my lunch time!!!" He said leaving without giving the older man a chance to protest.

"Now that was Interesting." Said a cool voice coming from the window.

"Yea, I don't know what to do with hi-" Iruka in realization quickly looks to the window and sees a Kakashi standing in a tree that was a couple feet away from the classroom window, his nose in a icha icha book. Irukas eyes widen comically. "WHat are you doing in the tree Hatake-san! Thats Dangerous get down from there!" He rushes to the window.

"If you insist." He said as he jumps, grabbing the window ledge and throwing his legs in. Gracefully landing on the floor and meeting a shocked face inches in front of his. "Is this better?"

The brunette blushes as he backs away, getting the other out of his personal space. "Uh~ yes...."

"Aww your so cute! Were you worried about me?!"

"GAh! Shut up you.... you baka!" He retorted his blush growing deeper.

"But it's true! It's what i like about you." He said as he closed his book and sets it on the near by desk.

"Now Hatake-san, you need to quite joking around so much and get serious. I cant deal with you like this year after year like this in the work place." He said putting his hand on his hip while looking at the other sensei with a scolding expression on his face.

"Aww, 'ruka, you can be so cruel sometimes! I told you to call me Kakashi!" He wined. "Or maybe you could give me a pet name!" He concluded.

"About that, please use my proper name for the work place. It's Immature."

The platinum blond walked up to the brunette slowly, his one visible eye looking him over seriously and intently. "But 'ruka, I like you, more than you think I do. Why can't you see that? I want you." He set a hand on the slightly shorter mans shoulder as he invades his space.

Iruka turns multiple shades of red as the other man comes onto him. "Hatake-san I... I don't understand. Your being ridiculous."

"Am I? I think you understand my perfectly well..."

"We are men."

"Does that matter? All that matters to me is that you're the one I want."

The brunette feeling tense and uncomfortable moves the other mans hand off hi shoulder and backs away. He turns his back to him and grabs his folder of his desk. "I'm sorry Hatake-san, but I have no time for your jokes today, I need to take my lunch and grade papers. I'll see you later." After not hearing any response he chances a look over his shoulder to see that the platinum blond and his book was gone.

"Uh.........dammit!! I told you to stay out of the tree!!!! Learn to use the door!" He exclaimed loudly.

Kakashi chuckles to himself as he jumps from the tree to land swiftly on the ground, startling a teen couple spending their lunch break together and was in the moment before he interrupt.

"Ah~ Gomen, don't let me disturb you love birds. I wish I could capture my canary, mmnnn~." He said while opening his book and walking away.

Naruto grabs a lunch tray of school grub and heads to the top. "The top' being the given name of the schools roof where students could hangout.

He opens the door and spots Shika and Kiba, along with Choji, Hinata, and Shino. This was the group Naruto hung out with. He quickly joins them.

"Whats did the dolphin want?" Kiba asks curiously.

"Just catching up with me, asking me to move in again." He responded as he ate.

"Ah. That again. He's such a mom."

"HAh! Thats what I said! Hehehe."

"Hey we were thinking of all hanging out on Friday. What do you think we should do? I already covered the arcade."

"Heh thats a given! How about a movie?"

"What kind of movie?" Choji asked.

"HORROR..." Kiba said in a creepy voice.

"I kinda wanted to see an action movie." Naruto suggested.

"Ohh! Lets see Dark Knight!"

"Yea I heard the joker in this Batman is awesome!"

The group continually talked and agreed to see batman until there was movement from the higher roof above the door. Naruto looked over and glared at the intruder. Sasuke was walking to the edge of the roof and jumped down in front of The Top's doorway. He looks over and glares at the blond in return before turning around and leaving.

After the toucher gym class with Gai-Sensei, and Japanese class with Kurenai-Sensei the day finally ended.
Naruto had left the school saying goodbyes to friends and took the bus home. Excited to get home and greet the trouble makers, not even noticing that as he got off the bus a pair of hazel/ruby eyes were watching, waiting for his appearance from the distance. A sinister chuckle escaped the stalkers grinning lips as he licked them.

"Mmm... Finally I've found you.... and I'm happy to see that my Kit has grown so deliciously ripe."
