Her Majesty's Kiba

Kiba waited patiently outside of Hinata’s bedroom while she changed clothes. He was a little nervous and was fortunate to have not seen Neji or Hiashi around. The door to her room slid open and Hinata shyly inched out, wearing a pair of short black skirt with a white camisole. Kiba gave his approval in the form of his usual fangy grin and a thumbs-up.

“I…I hope this is okay, Kiba-Kun.”

“It’s perfect! We’re only going to play tag with the other kids!”

”But, what about Neji-Oniisama…?”

Kiba shrugged and took her hand as they headed down the stairs.

“Don’t worry, besides, you’ve never met any of the other kids, right?”

Hinata gave a small nod. She had to admit, she was very nervous, but when Kiba had visited her a little over two weeks ago and invited her outside to play tag with the other children, she was nervous. She didn’t take him upon his offer then, but she was certain she was ready to see what Konoha was like outside of the Hyuuga household.

“Won’t Otousama be angry, Kiba-Kun?”

”He shouldn’t be.”

They stopped only for a minute to put on their sandals and Hinata gripped his hand a little tighter as he led her outside of the Hyuuga mansion. Hinata looked around in awe, noticing the village of Konoha was actually quite busy and energetic! She turned around, looking at the house, her eyes widening at the realization of how large it seemed from the street view.

“Ready, Hinata? It’s an awesome day outside and everyone is waiting!”

”Hai, Kiba-Kun…!”

As they walked through Konoha, people muttered, people whispered and people greeted her with the highest respect. Hinata blushed, holding Kiba’s hand a little more. Kiba felt so proud, walking beside the Hinata Hyuuga, famed heiress of the most powerful family in Konoha history. True, she looked just as threatening as a panda-bear, but…

“Kiba-Kun’s here!!!”

And speaking of pandas, Kiba inwardly mused, he watched as the half-Chinese TenTen hurried over to them, adorned in a pink Chinese styled dress. Several kids followed TenTen as she walked over to them, but Kiba could only smile as Hinata shyly hid behind him. It was her moments that really made him proud to have the Inazuka bloodline running through him. As his friends surrounded him and Hinata, the heiress peeked out from behind Kiba. There were so many different children she’d never met before; one girl had short, pink hair and curious green eyes, another girl had long, pale blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes. She eyed a boy eating a large bag of sweets, while he stood close to a boy who had spiky hair and both of his ears pierced.

“Yo, everyone! Listen up, this here is Neji’s little cousin, Hinata-Chan! You guys have to be really nice to her, okay? Say hello, Hinata-Chan.”

Still holding Kiba’s hand, she inched from behind him and barely whispered,

“H…hello…”

Everyone stared at her, listening to the soft tone of her voice. All of the guys fell in love with her and all of the girls thought she was just as cute as a doll.

“Hi, Hinata-Chan! My name is Haruno Sakura and this is Yamanaka Ino!”

Hinata bowed at the two girls who appeared to be good friends. Without warning, she was pulled to Yamanaka Ino’s budding chest.

“Kawaiiiiii! Hinata-Chan no kawaii!”

Hinata blushed at being called cute by someone she’d just met, but accepted the hug, despite her chagrin.

“Ino-San, you’re going to scare her!”

”I just can’t help it! I’ve never seen such a cute little girl!”

One of the boys chuckled and when Ino finally released her, Hinata found herself glancing upwards at the boy with the spiky hair and two earrings. He gave her a crooked grin and put his hand on her head.

“You’ll have to forgive Ino, she can be very troublesome.”

“Shikamaru, don’t say that!” Ino blushed.

“So, Hinata-San, how old are you?” he asked, ignoring his future teammate’s outburst.

“I…I’ll…be seven next spring.”

“Oh, so you’ll be starting the academy training soon!” TenTen smiled.

“Um..well…I…I mean…Neji…Oniisama….said I cannot do that.”

Everyone grew quiet and exchanged glances. They knew the resentment Neji held for Hinata, but saying she couldn’t become a kunoichi? Hinata looked at the ground, wondering what she was going to say next when a big, red lollipop, covered slightly in saliva, invaded her field of vision. Hinata quickly looked up, a blush staining her pale skin. Chouji kneeled down in front of her and offered it to her, ultimately receiving a slap on the back of his head from Ino.

“Chouji! Don’t be gross! It’s already been in your mouth! Why would Hinata-Hime want it?”

“It’s the last one I had! Sorry, Hinata-Chan, you probably don’t want this…”

Hesitantly extending her hand, Hinata accepted the lollipop. She didn’t want people to think she was stuck up, just because she’d been raised as an heiress who didn’t even make her own decisions at times. She popped it into her mouth, her eyes lighting up when she tasted the strawberry flavor of the candy.

“Ah…! This is so wonderful! Domou arigato gozaimasu, Chouji-Sama!”

Chouji blushed, but his chagrin was furthered when Shikamaru playfully ribbed him and winked.

“Hey, that’s kinda like giving her a kiss, Chouji! Do you like her that much?”

Chouji raged at Shikamaru who did enjoy giving his best friend trouble every now and again. Kiba could only smile and introduced Hinata to Shino, the quiet Sasuke, whom Hinata had noticed Sakura and Ino had taken quite a shine to, and lastly Rock Lee, who amused Hinata to no end. Shikamaru was the first to announce the start of their game and as the children scattered to get away from the tagger, which had been Kiba himself, Kiba warned Hinata that the field turned into forest after a little while and was adamant in telling her not to go too far. Hinata hurried off across the field, the wind sweeping across her face. She’d never felt happier in her entire life. She’d never felt freer, either. She looked up for a brief moment at the vast and endless sky, realizing the world was much larger outside of her home and wondered why her family never let her experience it.

“Hinata-Chan, hayakku!” Sakura said, grabbing her hand.

Hinata gave a bright smile and raced off with Sakura and Ino. Sakura stopped in front of a tree and with one swift movement, hid herself amongst the branches. Hinata stared in awe, she’d never seen anyone move like that in her life, except maybe when she’d seen Neji and her father training. Ino winked at Hinata before disappearing into thin air! Hinata quickly looked around, wondering where her new friend had just disappeared to…

“READY OR NOT, HERE I COME!”

“Hurry, Hinata-Chan, hide!”

Hinata quickly looked around and blindly jumped behind a nearby bush with girlish anticipation. When she saw Kiba approach the bush, she took a quick step backwards and let out a startled squeak as she felt the ground disappear from under her. She rolled down the hill, hearing Kiba’s concerned yell for her as he and the boys gave chase after her. Hinata clenched her eyes shut after hearing Shikamaru yell she was heading straight for a large rock.

“Oi, Naruto-San…!” she heard Rock Lee yell.

What did he just say, Hinata wondered to herself. She felt her body abruptly cease rolling as two arms wrapped around her. She opened her eyes for a minute, only to see the ground far beneath her. With a startled squeal, she wrapped her arms around her savior’s neck, completely unaware of when they’d landed.

“Whew! That was a close one!”

“Great save, Naruto! That was amazing!” Hinata heard Shikamaru say.

Hinata raised her head up only to see the most stunning blue eyes she’d ever seen. A blush quickly crested her cheeks when she saw said owner of the stunning blue eyes grin at her.

“Are you okay, Hinata-Hime…?”

“Wh…who…?”

”This is Uzumaki Naruto-Kun! He just saved you!” Chouji nodded.

Naruto sat her down and Hinata was able to get a better look at him; blonde hair, blue eyes…and were those whiskers on his face? He kneeled down, pulling up her skirt a little when he noticed a small trickle of blood coming down her thigh.

“Whew! You weren’t hurt that bad!”

“I…um…”

“Good thing too,”

He flashed her his happy-go-lucky grin and winked.

“It’d be a waste for such a cute girl like you to be hurt.”

And before Hinata even knew what hit her, she was out like a light.
