Chapter One: The Happy Occasion


Naruto was making his way down the street. He was on his way home, back from eating dinner at his favorite ramen shop, when he ran into a few of his friends. Or should he say a few of his friends ran over him. Literally!

“Hey guys. What’s up?” Naruto asked as he picked himself up off the ground, his smile not once leaving his face. ‘Despite just being run over, today’s still a great day, nothing can upset me today.’ Naruto thought.

“Sorry Naruto, we didn’t mean to run over you like that. But we are actually happy we did. You need to come with us. Hurry, come one.” Choji said as he caught his breath while opening a bag of chips.

“Whatever’s going on must be good as your so excited about it. So what‘s going on?” Naruto said, looking with curiosity at the four standing in front of him.

“Well, its not really as exciting as Choji is making it out to be.” Shikamaru said as he wrapped his arms around his lover.

“You don’t think anything is exciting Shikamaru.” Ino said. She look to be getting a little annoyed.

“Well, considering we haven’t even been told what’s going on yet, I think I’ll hold off on being excited for a little while.” Shikamaru said scowling at Ino.

“Well, Shino, why don’t you tell me what’s going on, since everyone else seems a little too preoccupied to tell me.” Naruto said as he watched as Ino glared at Shikamaru who was trying to steal one of Chojis chips, while Choji laughed as slapped his hand away.

Shino rolled his eyes at the other’s childish behavior. “Fine. Tsunade sent us to gather all of rookie nine and Gai’s team and to come to her office immediately. She says she has some good news for us. We still have more people to go get. Kakashi and Iruka said they would meet us there. So come on.” Then Shino turned and started down the street again. The others following him after a seconds hesitation.

One Hour Later: Tsunade’s Office


“FINALLY! WHAT TOOK YOU GUYS SO LONG!” Tsunade screamed at the group of people that just walked into her office.

“Troublesome.” Shikamaru muttered as he and Choji made their was over to the window.

“Geez, Baa-chan, calm down. We did kind of have to go all over the village and hunt everyone down you know.” Naruto said. He jumped as he felt two people suddenly appear on either side of him.

He turned to his right to see Sasuke staring, no glaring, at something over his head. He turned to his left to see Neji glaring right back at Sasuke.

‘Damn, what’s wrong with them. Why are they looking at each other like that.’ Naruto thought to himself.

Naruto felt a chill go down his spine. He became a little scared and worried at the way they were looking at each other. So he decided to diver their attention elsewhere.

“So, grandma, what’s so important that you rushed us all here, anyway.” Naruto said quickly.

Tsunade grinned as everyone turned curious eyes to her. “I thought you’d never ask. I know all you have busy schedules so I’ll cut to the chase. SHIZUNE!” She screamed loudly.

“Where is that girl. SHIZU-!” Tsunade started to scream again. Thankfully, Shizune came in right then, saving everyone from a terrible fate of not being to hear again.

“I’m here, I’m here. Stop screaming.” Shizune said rubbing at her temples. But the smile on her face did not go unnoticed.

“Ok. Well, everyone of you here already knew how Shizune and I felt about each other. I know you did. Especially you Naruto.” Tsunade began. She looked over at Naruto to see him smiling and sticking his tongue at her.

‘Normally I would kick his ass. But I’m to happy and excited at the moment.’ Tsunade thought to herself.

“So, anyway.” She continued. “Thanks to all of Naruto’s pushing, I finally told her how I felt. I can’t begin to tell you how terrified I was. Thankfully, though, she told me she felt the same. Now, this only happened a couple weeks ago. And I know it hasn’t been long, but I decided to take a huge leap of faith.” She paused again (for dramatic effect I’m sure). “So, I asked her to marry me. AND SHE SAID YES!” She finished with a huge smile gracing her face. Shizune’s smile was just as big.

Mostly everyone (three guesses on those who didn’t) erupted into loud applause and congratulations. Naruto was so happy for the two. He wanted to do something special for them. He suddenly got and idea, but he needed a certain persons help.

“Hey, Sasuke?”

“Hn”

“I want to throw them a party for their happy occasion, like tonight. Can we use your place?” Naruto asked turning hopeful puppy eyes on Sasuke.

‘Damn it! How am I supposed to say no to those beautiful eyes!’ Sasuke screamed in his head. “ Yeah. Sure. Whatever, Dobe.” He said. Naruto smiled at him causing his heart to melt and him do a happy dance in his head. Of course, nothing showed on his face. But the happiness quickly to jealousy and anger as Neji (who was listening in on their conversation) decided to join in on their conversation.

“Hey Naruto? I’m sorry, but I couldn’t help hearing what you said. I was wondering if I could help. I could go get refreshments and food for this party. I mean, If you would like.” Neji said smiling. Though Sasuke knew the Hyuuga was planning something.

“Wow, really? Neji that would be great. Thanks. Do you think you can get enough food and drink for everyone by 7:00 tonight thought? By yourself? I mean that is only about five hours away. That’s going to be a lot of food and drink. Are you sure you can do it yourself?” Naruto asked giving Neji the same hopeful puppy eyes he’d used on Sasuke.

“Of course.” Neji replied. Naruto’s smile grew wider and he hugged the sexy Hyuuga heir.

Wait did he just think Neji was sexy?

Neji did his own happy dance in his head while sending a smirk at the Uchiha bastard. Sasuke was glaring back, trying to keep himself from beating the shit out of the Hyuuga. He didn’t think his beautiful Naruto would like it. Suddenly, Naruto turned to him and he felt all his anger and jealousy melt away. He realized that Neji had already gone.

‘When did he leave.’ Sasuke thought. He was pulled back from his thoughts when he heard his beautiful angel call his name. He looked at him only to get lost in his thoughts once again while drowning in Naruto’s eyes.

“Sasuke!” Naruto said for the fifth time as he waved his hand in front of Sasuke’s face. ‘I wonder why he is just sitting there, staring at me like that.’ Naruto thought. “Sasuke! Hello! Anyone home!” Naruto continued trying to get his attention.

Sasuke snapped out of his happy thoughts of beating the Hyuuga to a bloody pulp and as a result of it having Naruto confess his undying love to him. He snapped out of his thoughts, only to see Naruto’s hand waving in front of his face and his voice calling his name.

“You know dobe, if you continue doing that your arm is going to fall off.” Sasuke said trying to sound annoyed when truly he wanted to laugh at Naruto’s cut adorable behavior.

“Well, I’ve been calling you for the past ten minutes. But anyway, that’s not important right now. You need to go get your house clean and ready for the party. I will go get the decorations and will come by after to help put them up and get the house ready as well.” Naruto said.

“Yeah. Whatever.” He said turning to leave. “YES! TIME ALONE WITH NARUTO.’ Sasuke thought to himself as he walked to his home.

“Hey Naruto, where are Neji and Sasuke-kun going?” Sakura asked as she made her way over to him.

“Oh, they are doing a few favors for me. Which, by the way, do you think you could help me as well?” Naruto asked.

“Depends on what you want.” She said a little skeptical.

“Well I want to throw Tsunade and Shizune a congrats party. You know. It will be at 7:00 tonight. And I was hoping that you will get everyone here to come. But, I want it to be a surprise for the happy couple. So could you also bring them around 7:30. That way it will give everyone plenty of time to get there. Tell them to come no later than 7:25. Please!!!” Naruto begged.

Sakura’s eyes lit up at the wonderful idea. “Of course I’ll do it Naruto. That is a wonderful idea.” She said smiling.

“Great! Thanks Sakura-chan. The party will be at Sasuke’s place. So don’t be late ok. I’m going there now. Well, after I get some decorations. So I’ll see you tonight then right?” And without waiting for a response Naruto turned and left.

Sakura had a huge smile on her face as she watched Naruto leave. ‘Yes. Tonight will be the night I get Sasuke finally.’ She thought. She was so excited about finally winning Sasuke’s heart. She was sure tonight would be the night.
