Chapter 3: A Slug, a Castle, and a Song

Chapter 3: A Slug, a Castle, and a Song

The two began to walk. Naruto didn’t realize that he still held Sasuke’s hand. Inside, Sasuke heard angels singing and birds chirping, and he felt like he was walking on air. Naruto sighed with frustration.

“What do they mean "Labyrinth"?” asked Naruto as he began to pout. “There aren't any turns or corners or anything. This just goes on and on!”

“Naruto, calm down,” Sasuke soothed. “Maybe it doesn't. Maybe we’re just taking for granted that it does.”

Naruto slowly grinned and began to run, now without his hold on Sasuke’s hand. There were branches and vines in Naruto’s way, and thus slowed down somewhat to avoid them. Sasuke sighed when Naruto sprinted ahead, and followed at a steady pace, using less energy than Naruto. But Naruto had an endless amount of energy… Who knew when that would run out?

After a few minutes of running, Naruto was getting frustrated again. He stopped suddenly, and Sasuke almost ran into Naruto. Growling, Naruto hit the wall in frustration and Sasuke backed off. Sasuke watched the scene unfold as Naruto hit the wall several times before turning around and leaning then sliding down the wall. When the two boys heard a small voice coming from their right, Sasuke had already seated himself next to his best friend.

“Hullo,” the voice said, and the boys looked to see the body that the voice had come from. Naruto leaned over Sasuke, and saw a blue slug.

“D-Did you just say hello?” Naruto stuttered his question with wide eyes. The little blue slug shook its head.

“I said ‘hullo’, but it is all the same,” the slug replied. Sasuke thought that it was female by the high-pitched voice, but he’d been wrong before. “I am Katsuya.”

“You’re a slug, aren’t you?” Naruto asked, still leaning over Sasuke. When the slug’s blue head bounced up and down, Naruto and Sasuke took this as a nod.

“Yes, that is correct.”

“Do you know he way through the labyrinth?” Naruto asked eagerly, smiling his best, fox-like smile. Katsuya shook her head. “Oh…”

“Come inside and meet my husband!” Katsuya exclaimed in a cheerful voice. “Have some tea…”

“No,” sighed Naruto, leaning back against the wall. He gazed hopelessly at Sasuke. “We have to solve this labyrinth, but there aren’t any twists or turns or openings or anything!”

“That is where you are wrong, sir,” sighed Katsuya. “You have not seen them yet. There is an opening just in front of you.”

Both boys’ heads turned sharply to the other wall. “No there isn’t…” Naruto disagreed. But Katsuya just shook her head.

“There is!” Katsuya made another gesture towards the wall, if telling them to try. “Go on…”

Naruto stood, and leapt at the wall. When he went through, Sasuke understood… The wall gave the illusion of not being there because the furthest wall looked exactly the same as the wall closest… Sasuke shook his head before the explanation got too complicated for him to understand, even in his own head.(1)

“Thanks!” Naruto and Sasuke began to head down the path the wall yielded.

“No!” yelled Katsuya in a voice louder than one expected of a worm. “Do not go that way! Never go that way!”

“Oh! Alright,” Naruto and Sasuke switched directions and Katsuya sighed and shook her head.

“If they had kept on going down that way, they would have gone straight to that castle.”

Naruto looked at the castle in the distance, and Sasuke could nearly feel his pain as they both heard the cries of a baby boy. “Don’t worry, Kono-chan, I’m coming for you.”

~

In the castle, Konohamaru was frightened by all the people and scary faces he saw. The scariest, of course, belonged to the Snake King Orochimaru, who sat splayed on the stone throne, a leg hooked over the arm.

The throne room that everyone sat in was circular and a rough-looking grayish stone. The goblins were spread out everywhere, some eating messily, other pushing and shoving, some drinking wine from the barrels, and others farting, laughing, or drinking ale from various mugs. One group of goblins were playing with the baby.

The goblins were squabbling over unimportant things and passing Konohamaru around within the circle. Orochimaru sighed in boredom as he watched the goblins play with the newest…thing in the kingdom. He stopped a passing goblin as music started up in the background. A goblin behind Orochimaru’s throne held a stereo over his shoulder.

“You remind of the babe,” Orochimaru said randomly. The goblin looked at him oddly.

“What babe?” the ugly creature asked in reply. Other goblins were looking, interested in this new turn of events. Orochimaru only sang like this rarely.

“The babe with the power.”

“What power?”

“The power of voodoo.”

“Who do?”

“You do.”

“Do what?”

“Remind of the babe.” All the goblins laughed until Orochimaru yelled, “QUIET! A goblin babe.” Orochimaru began to laugh alone before he stopped and looked at the goblins. “Well?”

They all began to laugh, albeit somewhat nervously. Orochimaru rolled his eyes.

And then he began to sing. Everyone covered their ears in fear of him screeching out the lyrics.

“I saw my baby, crying hard as babe could cry. What could I do? My baby’s love had gone, and left my baby blue! Nobody knew…”

Other goblins began to sing along. Orochimaru wasn’t too bad at singing. “…What kind of magic spell to use.”

“Slime and snails,” sang one goblin with black dreadlocks.

“Or puppy dog tails!” a tinier crooned.

“Thunder or lightning,” a fatter, slower goblin warbled.

“And baby said…” Orochimaru stated, as Kono-chan goo-gooed.

“Dance magic, dance magic! Dance magic, dance magic! Put that baby spell on me…” they all sang. Orochimaru danced over to little Kono-chan and picked him up.

“Jump magic, jump magic! Jump magic, jump magic! Put that magic jump on me.”

“Slap that baby!” one said.

“Make him free!”

~

Naruto pulled out his eyeliner and squatted down. He drew an arrow on a stone of the pathway, showing which direction he’d taken. Sasuke smiled approvingly of this strategy, and Naruto smiled back shyly before blushign and turning away. As they walked, a little man lifted the stone Naruto had drawn the arrow on.

The little man began mumbling and cursing the two as they walked away, shaking a fist at them, saying how you weren’t supposed to write on “the fragging walk walk” and how their mothers were “fraggin’ ardvarks”. What a kind little man…

~

Orochimaru was sitting one the throne bouncing Konohamaru on his knee. He pointed to a clock and said softly into the baby’s ear, “In nine hours and twenty-three minutes, you’ll be mine.”

The goblins laughed conspiratorially. Orochimaru began to sing again.

“I saw my baby, crying hard as babe could cry. What could I do? My baby’s love had gone, and left my baby blue! Nobody knew…”

“…What kind of magic spell to use.”

“Slime and snails,” said a goblin with dark blue skin and thinning gray hair.

“Or puppy dog tails,” another said, with bright white hair.

“Thunder or lightning,” the fat one sang again.

“And baby said…” Orochimaru smiled when Kono-chan laughed.

“Dance magic, dance magic! Dance magic, dance magic! Put that baby spell on me… Jump magic, jump magic! Jump magic, jump magic! Put that magic jump on me…”

“Slap that baby, make him free!” two goblins sang together. Every goblin was into the entire dance and song, even the one with the stereo.

Orochimaru began throwing Kono-chan up into the air.

“Dance magic, dance magic! Dance magic, dance magic! Put that baby spell on me…”

A/N: This is your Christmas present, my adoring readers! I really feel bad that I take such a long time to update, seriously I’m sorry, but you know, I do have a life outside of writing, including school, and then I’m horrible with finishing what I start. I do plan on finishing this story, though. It’s the only story that really took well… I love you all, and I promise that in the next chapter there will be lime. I dunno if it’ll be good or not, because I usually only write lime in RPs with friends. So, because I love my fans, I’m responding to your reviews~!

Angela~ You’re awesome! Thank you for being my first reviewer! I’m really happy that you like my story and that you support me!

MidnightMoon~ If you’ve seen the movie, it’s basically the same plot with added fun and an added Sasuke. I don’t like Oro-man either, because he’s creepy. My friend and I have this game where you “give” each other the worst possible people, and he’s hers, I believe.

ST~ WAAH! I do?! Crap. I’m a bit too lazy to fix it a the moment, but I think I will revise it sometime or another. Thank you for pointing that out.

YaoiloverS~ You should see the Labyrinth! It’s one of my favorite movies!! I’m glad you thought it was funny, I was trying.

Ruby Lee~ I’m so happy that you like it. It was a bit difficult, but not too hard. I have a plan. And Tsunade and Jiraiya make a good couple, not my favorite, but it fit with the story, now didn’t it?

ghostninja85~ OMG you have no clue how FLATTERED I am that you like my story. You are one of my Naruto-fandom-writer idols. Happy with the update? I hope you are!

Hitomi~ Here’s more! I tried to be funny without forcing it.

S2~ That was the best suggestion and the most helpful, too. Thank you for recommending to write it on a piece of paper. The post-it’s gone now, but it did help me update the last chapter. I like possessive Naruto. I like possessive Sasuke, too. And I’m scared of Oro!

Gitona~ I’ve had this idea for a while. I came up with the idea about 2 years ago while I was at my friend’s house. It was going to be this big spoof, but it turned into this. I think it’s still finny and it will have the same ideas that we thought of, but it’s a romance story too, now.

bliblop~ w00t! You reviewed for both chapters! I’m so happy! Oro scares me ‘cause he seems like a pervy child molester, but if you like him, that’s…fine, I guess. To each his/her own. He still scares me, and I haven’t gotten a chance to watch Naruto since the summer. *cries* I like how much they’re progressing into liking each other, I think that it’s fast enough to work, but then I wonder if I’m pushing it too much.

silverfox~ Yeah, love possessive Sasuke. Thank you for reviewing, and here’s another chapter!

Oubilette~ I’m not trying to make him sultry! I don’t like him either! I’ve said it before in other review responses. He’s a scary pervy child molester! He won’t attract either, I swear. Not if it’s consensual, anyway. And I don’t write noncon. So you don’t have to worry! Glad you like it, and here’s your update!

Leasan~ Hmm… didn’t think of returning the fairies, but that’s a good idea. If I can fit them in somewhere, I just might. I didn’t know that there was a game. And I didn’t realize that my style was more evil and creepy. I’m taking it as a compliment.

kataru~ I’m glad you like it and that you think it’s cute!

Mizuka~ Updated! w00t!

sopointless~ Yeah, Word can be crap, but it help me if I type ‘Nrauto’ instead of ‘Naruto’, and stuff like that. I’m glad that you love this story. I like SasuNaru, too, if you couldn’t tell. XD

sooky~ I do follow the script strictly, but that’s because I don’t own the DVD or VHS, so I use the script and I don’t want to deviate from it too much. I’m ecstatic about how many people responded to the story, and you’re awesome!

Yaoi Fan~ They won’t ‘get it on’ for a while, but I do plan on having that come into play sometime or another in the furture.

A/N 2: REVIEW!! REVIEW!! Reviews are what keep me going! I’ll love you forever if you review!!
