Chapter Three
Once every bit of ramen had been licked from every bowl, Naruto sat back with a sigh, patting his stomach. “Best dinner... ever. You know, its like those times when you’re training all day, and then you come back and eat... It always tastes really really good. Like you haven’t eaten in days.” Of course for all he knew, Orochimaru made Sasuke go for days without food... Maybe that wasn’t the best thing to say to Sasuke.
“Food is food. I don’t see any difference,” Sasuke murmured distractedly. The plan was almost in motion, every contingency mapped out accordingly, and his responses to those that would still lead them down the path he wanted. He knew Naruto too well, no amount of training could change his faults.
“Did he feed you?”
Sasuke blinked, mind wandering from his plan. “What?”
“Did he feed you? You know... like real food...”
“Of course he fed me, dobe. A person will die without food or water.”
Naruto shrugged lazily, “well by your scrawny ass, I couldn’t tell if you’re underfed or just one of those weird lanky people.”
“Lanky. Wow Naruto, I’m proud you’ve gained a new word in your vocabulary.” Sasuke stood, ignoring Naruto’s scowl. “Come on, we need a bath.”
“We? Since when have you been unable to wash yourself?” Naruto snickered at his own joke, but stood anyway. A bath did sound pretty nice. Especially a nice warm bath.
“I wasn’t worried about me. You, on the other hand smell like a pig. You really need a bath.”
“If I smell, it’s a manly smell. Meh, you don’t smell like roses either, princess.” Naruto stretched then winced a little, dropping his arms. Okay, maybe he did smell a little. Hard work would do that to a man. Yep... it was all a testament to his growing manly... ness.
“Princess.” Sasuke snorted, heading back to the bathing area. Thankfully there was still soap left. He couldn’t fight the smirk that rose to his lips; this would be fun. If nothing more than to see the look on Naruto’s face.
The few towels left had been dusty, but after a few shakes they fell back to their original soft white forms. Sasuke remembered being able to wrap them completely around all of his body; now they would barely reach around his hip and came to just above his knees. After he tossed two towels over a towel wrack, Sasuke pulled off his shirt and let it fall to the ground, rolling his shoulders tenderly. They were a little sore, but nothing that would be a problem to him later. He felt a pair of eyes on his back and promptly put on a show to the best of his abilities. Slowly he bent as he pulled off his pants, smirking a little as the sense of eyes on him quickly left.
Naruto knew he had spent too much time around Jiraiya if Sasuke getting undressed had suddenly became interesting to him. It was just curiosity; the only naked male he’d seen for two years had been his older teacher. Not that he wanted to see men naked. He was just curious how he compared to other boys his age... but not in the front-side way. That he didn’t care about. Ninja didn’t care how big their... front-sides were. Naruto began to hastily strip as well, realizing that staring at a corner was probably weird. It was strange; Sasuke looked so small before, but despite the difference between them, he was still well muscled. He always assumed that muscles meant bulky, as he had been filling out. Ah well, life was a learning experience.
The Uchiha family could afford the bathing room that would fit their house; a large tub in the center, and several seats near drains on the side to rinse off before getting in. Sasuke started the water, making sure it was warm, but not too hot for sensitive skin. He took one of the smaller towels and wrapped it around himself; wandering around naked would raise Naruto’s suspicion. If he noticed at all. “Here, dobe,” Sasuke tossed another of the small towels to Naruto, giving the darker skinned boy a quick once over.
“Thanks.” Catching the towel, Naruto pulled it around his lower region and knotted it at his hip. He plopped down in one of the chairs and turned on the water of the small nozzle. “Where’s the soap?” An object was launched at his head; thankfully he caught the bar in time, feeling a surge of pride. Take that, stupid Uchiha. Smiling happily to himself, he washed from head to toe. The water in the tub slowed to a stop, metal knobs squeaking as Sasuke shut it off. He hummed a little as he raised one arm and then the other, washing the smellier parts of him. The soap was then plucked from his hand.
“I’ll do it.”
Naruto blinked, looking up at Sasuke. “Huh? Oi, why aren’t you washing?”
“I could only find one bar. And I said that I can do it... That’s what friends do, ne? Its just your back.”
Reluctantly, Naruto nodded. “Sure...” Weirdo, he thought quietly to himself. He watched Sasuke soap up his hands by rubbing the bar over them quickly, then tossed the bar at the seat next to Naruto. Surprisingly soft hands met his skin, working over his weary muscles. It was hard not to purr, though that most certainly would have been an embarrassing sound to make. His eyes drooped slowly until eventually he let them shut, relaxing to his friend’s almost massaging hands.
Smirking at Naruto’s reaction, Sasuke leaned over him, lips grazing his ear. “You forgot your hair, dobe.”
Sasuke’s breath tickled his ear, making Naruto shiver, fingers twitching. “I wasn’t finished.”
“Fine. I’ll do it, while I’m up. The quicker you’re clean, the faster I can start on myself.” He rose a little, reaching past Naruto for the shampoo, stomach pressing lightly against his shoulder. The shower nozzle hung loosely in Naruto’s grip, resting in his lap. Sasuke picked it up, making sure his fingers brushed Naruto’s thigh first. Out of all the things he learned while in Orochimaru’s care, this was the last thing he thought he’d have to use.
As to not jolt Naruto out of the haze of relaxation that rested lightly around him, Sasuke gently rinsed his back, wiping most of the suds away with his fingers. Finished with his back, Sasuke moved to his hair, stroking the unruly locks into the stream of water, making sure it was all damp before setting the nozzle back in Naruto’s lap. The shampoo smelt faintly like vanilla, the goo yellow and thick in the palm of his hand. He rubbed his hands together then sank his fingers into Naruto’s hair, rubbing the soap in from root to tip.
A faint memory of doing the same to his brother, and giggling like mad as he spiked his brother’s soapy hair, drifted to the surface, once lost in the memories he tried so hard to bury. Itachi, before he became ANBU, when they were still close... he would turn and grab his brother, tickling and blowing bubbles on his damp stomach.
Sasuke winced and shook his head a little shoving the memory back down. That brother was dead, killed like the rest of his clan, by the monster who took everything from him. His life with Orochimaru, the things he put up with to learn from the perverted master... It was all Itachi’s fault. Now all he had to do was get his once best friend to trust him more than anyone, and he would finally end the pain of those memories by killing the monster. It would all go away if Itachi was dead and nothing would hurt anymore.
Shaking the last of the painful memory from him, Sasuke reached for the shower nozzle again, rinsing his hair, nails scratching gently at his scalp. This time Naruto murmured a small pleased noise, which was promptly cut off by biting his lip. Sasuke smiled and lowered the water, setting it back in his friend’s lap, hand hovering there. “Done.”
He straightened and slid into the chair next to Naruto’s, plucking the soap up before he sat on it. Sasuke held out his hand, “water.”
Naruto’s eyes slowly opened, glancing at Sasuke. “Huh?”
“Water? So I can wash myself?”
“Oh! Right.” Naruto handed him the nozzle, shivering a little as Sasuke’s fingers brushed against his. He would have to count that moment as the only time he had been that relaxed in front of someone else. Probably the first time ever he had been that relaxed. It felt good, comforting even, to be touched by someone he trusted. He watched Sasuke quietly as he washed, envying him a little. No one kindly helped him wash while growing up... at least Sasuke had those memories. Naruto supposed if they got into a ‘who had a more screwed up childhood’ debate, they would eventually tie. Being ignored and having no one was bad, just as bad as having everything taken from you in a blink of an eye, by someone Sasuke trusted. He never asked about Itachi, or got the chance to see if Sasuke would mention any of the good times, there surely was at least one, with his brother. It was obvious that he cared for Itachi, as painted by the hate he held for him. One could hate someone who murdered his family; it was another thing to hate someone who turned their back on you and did the same.
Naruto noticed that Sasuke was nearly finished, leaving his back for last too. Since it was only fair, he scooted his chair closer. “Here, I’ll do that,” he said cheerfully, snatching the soap from Sasuke. Not an easy task, since it had gotten quite a bit more slippery since he had used it. It jumped from his hand a few times before he finally caught it between his palms.
“Hn,” Sasuke muttered, turning around so Naruto could access his back better. The dobe was so predictable.
Humming as he soaped up his hands, Naruto happily tossed the soap toward the drain, glad to be rid of its treacherous slippery surfaces. Naruto paused, hands hovering over Sasuke’s back; was it wrong to do this? Suddenly he felt shy, though not nearly bad as an onslaught of Hinata-ish shyness. He was going to rub another boy’s body... surely there was something wrong with that.
“Are you going to stare, or help?”
“I’m not staring!” Embarrassed, Naruto pushed his rougher hands against Sasuke’s back, making small circles. It wasn’t as bad as he thought; it was sort of like washing a dog. With that in mind, Naruto washed on, hands only hesitating when he got closer to Sasuke’s lower back. The small of his back peeked over the towel, as smooth and pale as the rest of the scrawny bastard’s back. He closed one eye and washed the area quickly, taking the nozzle from Sasuke and rinsing his hands. Smirking, Naruto bent to turn up the water, spraying most of Sasuke at once with it.
Sasuke sputtered and put up his hands, “hey!”
Naruto laughed, lowering the water. “Without that stuff in your hair, you look like a drowned rat! Oooh, if your fangirls could see you now.” He raised his voice to mimic them, “Sasuke-kuuuun! Why do you look so pasty and drowned? Wah, we don’t love you anymore, now we’ll chase after the better looking one of team seven... me. Er... Naruto-kun!”
Sasuke spat out the mouthful of water he got, unable to keep his lips from twitching into a slight smile. “Me, ne? So the girls start to chase Sakura? That would be... interesting.”
Naruto’s jaw sagged open, “yes. Yes it would. I would pay to see all those girls start to chase Sakura... Though now, she’s a little bit scary.”
“I’ve always thought of her as a little bit scary.”
“Neeeh, that’s because you’re weird,” Naruto stuck out his tongue. In a blink of an eye he was flat on his back, head knocking painfully against the tile. “What the hell?!” Seeing the challenge in Sasuke’s eyes, Naruto smirked and wrestled back, ready to show how much stronger he had gotten.
Talking about girls was not on his plan; this would effectively get things back on track. He let Naruto get the better of him, telling his pride that it would be for the best in the long run. The grin on Naruto’s face as he pinned Sasuke was larger than any he had seen before.
“Ha! Poor little Sasuke, pinned you.”
“Mm... So you did.” Taking advantage of how close they were, he leaned up and kissed Naruto. Either in shock, or hesitant as to what he should do, Naruto didn’t move away, though his eyes widened like saucers. Sasuke closed his eyes, tilting his head to deepen the kiss. That snapped Naruto out of his daze and sent him scrambling back, hand over his mouth.
“Wha... what the fucking hell, Sasuke?!”
Sasuke propped himself up on his elbows, eyes flickering to Naruto’s groin. “You didn’t seem to mind.”
Blinking, Naruto looked down, then quickly looked away, red tinting his cheeks. “That happens! That’s a natural weird thing that happens now and then. I didn’t do it on purpose! It just... did it on its own! Jiraiya said that all boys don’t have control over it!”
“Yes, two years ago, when we were kids, we had no control over it. Now we’re a little older...”
“We’re still kids.”
“Ninjas don’t have the same labeling as civilians do.” Sasuke sat up, pulling his legs under him to kneel in front of a still shocked Naruto. “How many times have we seen people die? How many times have people our age killed someone else, by now? Our bodies might still be less than mature, but it doesn’t make us children.” He leaned forward, putting a hand near Naruto’s hip, fingers splaying on the cold tile floor. “That happened because you liked it.”
“N-no...” Naruto didn’t know whether he should move away or... No, there was no other option, and yet his body wouldn’t listen to him.
“Be honest with yourself, Naruto,” he leaned ever closer, his chest almost touching the darker skinned one of his friend, “you’ve always been obsessed with me.” Before Naruto could stutter out another protest, Sasuke kissed him again, this time his lips were a bit more teasing, meant to silence the dobe. When Naruto squeezed his eyes shut and turned away, Sasuke nipped at his neck, lips sliding over the still wet skin. Parts of Naruto’s hair had already began to dry, golden strands sticking up in its usual haphazardly way and shining brightly in the light.
Naruto’s breath caught in his throat, shiver running down his spine. It was all wrong, this wasn’t what Sasuke was supposed to be doing. They were supposed to argue and snipe at each other, not be this close... doing things that made his mind swim and lose track of the protests that he should of muttered. “Sasuke,” was the only thing he could get out as his friend’s teeth nibbled on his earlobe. It sounded halfway reproachful, in his mind.
“Mm,” Sasuke purred in his ear, lips moving over the sensitive area, “call for me again.” Smirking, he reached for the tented area of Naruto’s towel, rubbing it firmly.
Naruto jumped, wincing at the whimper he let out. “That wasn’t... nnn... what I was...” Sasuke’s tongue traced the outside of his ear, making all thought and speech freeze while his body tingled happily. “Dammit, listen to uhhnnn...” The Uchiha’s hand slipped under the towel warm hand gripping the thick member. Naruto moaned as he was stroked, chin tilting back.
Sasuke lapped at the now exposed area under his chin, dragging his tongue sluggishly over the skin. He knew the last of Naruto’s resolve had snapped; now he was just playing. A little play with work never hurt anyone, or so Orochimaru had taught him. His mind turned over the possible ways to take it further. Of course getting a chance to be on top for once was one that he wanted to snatch up, but since Naruto seemed new at this, taking him might scare him away. If he could hold out until tomorrow, he would get another chance. Then he would finally see someone writhe under him.
Not wanting Naruto to become too excited too soon, he still his hand, smirking at the whimper and hand that clamped onto his wrist, hips twitching to regain the heavenly friction. Sasuke’s lips returned to Naruto’s ear, voice low and husky with lust. “You were turned on because you pinned me.... Or was it the kiss?”
He stubbornly remained silent, fingers still curled around Sasuke’s wrist. Naruto was humiliated enough; to let Sasuke, another boy, touch him... and how good it felt that it was him to do it.
“You’ve always wanted to be better than me... So be it. Pin me again.” Sasuke’s tongue flicked out to tease Naruto’s ear. “Do it...”
Naruto shivered, opening his eyes a little. If he gave in... Sasuke wasn’t the type to be loud with things that should be private, he was obviously a private person in general... He wouldn’t tell anyone if he gave in, just this once.
Yanking at Sasuke’s wrist, he pulled the Uchiha off balance then threw his weight against him, pinning him to the floor again. This time something rose to meet his length, pressing against it and sending pleasurable shocks from his groin to the growing warm spot pooling in his stomach. He watched as Sasuke’s eyes fluttered closed, lips parting while he made a pleased noise in the back of his throat. A throat that deserved attention, he decided, hesitantly lowering himself to shower the pale column with clumsy kisses and nips.
Sasuke moaned, hips twitching against the warmth that pressed against him. Naruto returned the moan, lips pressed against his neck. He was different from the pale and slinky Orochimaru; Naruto was firm and warm, almost comforting to be close to. A little bit of himself admitted that maybe he too, had wanted to be close to Naruto. Now he had what he wanted, and his plan was rolling right on schedule...
