The Gang

Naruto slumped his shoulders as he made his way home slowly. He really didn’t want to deal with his mom, not right now anyway. He was still a little confused about what had happened at school today. First he gets picked on then they all fight and finally they say sorry to each other. What the hell. There supposed to be rivals, not buddies. Than later when he was just reaching the front doors to exit the school he had got yet another surprise. A pleasant one but still a surprise.

Naruto had went to his locker to grab his needed books, not like he would do the homework but he grabbed them never the less. He had just turned around and was heading towards freedom when he felt someone approach. Naruto turned left and stopped, Ino was by the wall.

“Hey Naruto I was waiting for you.” Ino said. Smiling she stood up straight and walked over towards the blonde.
“Hey Ino, what’s up.” Naruto said casually, just wanting to get home.

“Nothing.” Ino replied a little nervous, then she looked back up at Naruto. “Do you mind if I walk with you for awhile.” She said. Naruto at this statement was very puzzled but he nodded and they both left the building. They talked about casual stuff, where they lived if they had family, and what movies they had watched. It had seemed Ino had wanted to say something else but she never spoke up.

Naruto sighed and rubbed his neck still trying to ponder it out even now. Before he knew it the house was looming in front of him. He was a little amazed he made it back so soon.
Kyo and Kite were already at their home probably getting grounded for a month after the fight. For some reason Naruto started to laugh at the sight, with Kite being 19 getting grounded.
When Naruto entered the house, he padded his way through the carpeted hall and into the tiled kitchen wher he saw his mom. She really didn’t look too happy so he silently pulled up a chair and sat down. His mom just looked at him giving the silent treatment then it happened.

“Why did you start a fight. I thought we raised you better than that. What happened just look at you, with your eye like that.” She said then went on and on for about five minutes. Then she went into how difficult it must be for him to go to a new school and this and that. When she was finally done talking she walked over to Naruto and hugged him saying, “So who got the worst of it,” she said smiling.

Naruto laughed back and told her what happened. His mom was always like that and he thought it was cool to have a mom that cared and also had a sense of humor. Now his dad on the other hand was different with being stricter. Now he was the problem, heading up stairs to his room Naruto opened the door before throwing his bag on the floor. His room looked the same, with dirty clothes on the floor and the window open letting the breeze in.

Groaning Naruto flopped on the bed. Now that he actually started to think about it, he did like it better in the city. The noise and the moving always going on. He would have liked it even more if there wasn’t so many people but he couldn’t be picky. He got to see his cousins more often and his parents. “Space” seemed to be slowing down too since his mom was here.

“Space,” his parents also wanted him to work there. To continue the line as his dad had put it. He really didn’t know though if that’s what he wanted, he was only 17 or soon to be anyway. The last time he was there the pervert Jiariya and his team were working on a rocket or something and his dad was in the science department doing something with a new diseases probably. His mom was somewhere else as he had walked around. People greeting him and trying to show him what they were doing like he knew, but the weird part was he did know most of the stuff they showed him, he had never seen before. Sighing one last time and kicking his shoes off Naruto laid down.

The building to “Space” itself was huge with windows all over the cream colored building. The doors were mechanized and when you actually stepped into the place it blew you away. The first floor was filled with tiled clean white hallways and large entrances with TV’s and couches. The walls were never bare and always had some kind of picture or even some blueprints. They had elevators and stairs along with over a hundred doors. Some would lead you to the food court while others led to the bedrooms. The places where they worked, the doors were always sealed and had the sing “Top Secret”. Of course Naruto couldn’t get through them but he could get through the “Only employee’s” sings where they mostly worked on technology. What he really liked about the place though were the people and the ceilings. They always had painted ceiling of different things. It was like it was telling a story really. The one he really liked was when you first entered when the guard let you in.

There was a small village surrounded by trees and it looked peaceful, full of life until you looked left where you could see a fiery nine tailed fox just on the out skirts of the village. Naruto rolled over in his soft bed finally closing his eyes. Tomorrow was another day.

The next morning, after hearing his dad talk about the whole fight. He found out that he needed to clean the garage and do the dishes for a week. So he thought it wasn’t that bad of a punishment, on the other hand when his cousins came to walk him to school he found out that there punishments were worse. Naruto couldn’t help but laugh with Kyo not watching TV for a month and Kite, that couldn’t go anywhere with his friends for a week. Naruto walked with them the whole way listening to them trying to suppress the laughter.

“This is bullshit. They only gave you a week.” Kyo was saying.
“Shut up Kyo you were the one that threw the first punch.” Kite said getting annoyed that Kyo would just not shut up.

“You know what! It’s a conspiracy I tell you, they always take your side.” Kyo rounded out, kicking a stone across the sidewalk.

“Kyo will you just...” Kite was saying but Naruto tuned them out. They have been at each others throats all morning.

Naruto frowned in the distance, not really seeing the people that walked all around him. His parents were acting weird this morning and he could guess why. On the news they said that the City Sound was acting up again. Sound itself was a fairly large city and had there own Top Secret buildings. It seriously wasn’t anything knew, the City had always acted up declaring something or another so why were his parents so worried?

When they got to the gates Naruto saw Sasuke, and his friends as usual by the gate at the school. Naruto had to stop physically when he saw Haku wave at him to come over, while Sasuke just stood there staring at him.

“Hey well you guys I have to go, see you around.” Naruto said, while Kite and Kyo walked into the school gloomily. Naruto walked up to Sasuke and his friends. He felt a little awkward there because he didn't really know anyone. Haku just smiled and ruffled up Naruto’s hair talking like they were best friends. “Naruto this is Shino,” which had dark glasses so he did buy new ones after the fight with Kite.

“Then you have Gaara who is by the wall and to his right you have Rock Lee.” Haku said cheerfully.
Naruto just nodded, either shaking their hands or smiling. Gaara looked like he was bored and would have looked like any other student except for his piercing green eyes that seemed to be boring into his very soul.

A little worried Naruto turned his gaze to Sasuke. He had walked over to him and had his little smirk on his face. “ Naruto I thought for sure you would chicken out,” Sasuke said casually.

Naruto just smiled at him, two could play at this game and was just about to retort then saw a new person walking his way up to the group. He had black hair and dark emotionless eyes just like Sasuke’s. He had on a red shirt and black pants that had chains coming from the sides. Sasuke walked up in front of everyone and stared at the new comer that was now a few feet from them. “ Itachi what’s up.” Haku said cheerfully.

“Itachi” as Naruto had heard, stopped right in front of the small group. “So Sasuke this is the guy,” Itachi said smoothly, eyeing Naruto up and down. Naruto unconsciously started to shift not liking how this man looked at him. What was wrong with this guy?

Without warning Naruto saw Sasuke run past him and up to Iatchi. He threw a punch but Itachi caught it by his hand and started to chuckle. Sasuke dropped his hand and smiled back, “Good to see you Itachi.” Sasuke said happily.

That day at school was very interesting with Naruto going to classes like normal and having Sasuke’s friends waving at him wherever he went. At class itself Sasuke would sit next to him and pass notes when the teacher wasn’t looking, telling him about random things. His cousins would also sit close him only to give Sasuke the evil eye every time they would look at him. Naruto had found out that Itachi was Sasuke’s brother and only living family. Itachi also seemed to work at “Space”, which surprised Naruto since he had never seen him there. That and Naruto had to sit with Kiba and hear him talk about what he might have seen in the night sky. Naruto swore the guy was paranoid.

When it was finally lunch time, people could see Naruto and his cousins in the line to the cafeteria like always cutting.
“Hey Naruto are you going to sit with Sasuke and his friends” Kite said spiting out Sasuke’s name like it was a disease after narrowing his eyes.

“Well I was thinking about it. Why?” Naruto said, while getting a plate and deliberately not looking at him.

“You know they are a gang and kill people right?” Kite said silently. What the hell, Naruto thought. “Do I look like an idiot, of course I know that but I promised Sasuke to meet his friends,” Naruto said angrily leaving with a plate of food. He would never go back on his word.

Kite was going to stop Naruto when he felt a hand on his shoulder “Let it go Kite he can do what he wants,” Kyo said casually. Kite didn’t say anything and just stared at Naruto walk away. They were supposed to keep him safe.

When Naruto came to Sasuke’s table, he was greeted by Rock Lee who he really didn’t know and had a very weird sense of fashion. The kid was wearing a green jump suit and had really thick fuzzy eyebrows not including a bowl cut. “Hey Naruto sit with me.” Lee said, waving his arms. Naruto went over to him “OK fuzzy eyebrows,” he commented.


Sasuke sat across from the table and just ate in silence but Naruto just had to know “Hey Sasuke is Itachi your brother right, so what’s he exactly do.” Sasuke looked up from his food. “Yeah he’s my brother even though I hate him and he’s also the leader of our gang, which reminds me if your going to be seen with us you have to wear this.” Sasuke said while getting something out of his pack.

When he was done he tossed something to Naruto which he caught. It was one of those bandannas that they all wore with the colors being orange and black. “Are you serious. Your giving me this but why.” Naruto said speechlessly. Sasuke just smirked “Because now your one of us.”

Later after lunch, Naruto was running around the track for PE. He kept thinking about the words Sasuke had said with, “your one of us now.” he didn’t know if he was angry or just shocked. He couldn’t be in their “gang”. For one thing his parents would kill him, another his cousins would slaughter him and oh yeah his parents would kill him. On the other hand he did like orange and black.

Like always after the run Gai would tell them to do some sport, while he jumped around and gave pointers to the under dog, but this time they were playing war ball and Gai was playing. Now that Naruto thought about it Gai seriously looked a lot like Lee, were they related.

Shaking his head Naruto soon found out about the rules and why Gai was playing. The object would be to hit the person that was on the other team. Sasuke, Gaara, and Naruto were on the same team but lost continually being hit by the ball that Gai would throw or some other random person. At the end of the period almost everyone had bruises because of the ball. Gai just stood in the middle yelling and pumping his arms up in a victory sing, he of course hadn’t got hit once.

While Naruto was packing up getting ready to head home, he was stooped by Sasuke.“Hey Dobe we’re all meeting at the gate when schools out so be there.” He said turning around. Naruto glared at the pricks back. He really didn’t like to be bossed around but decided to go and see what they really did after school.
When he got outside he had to tell his cousins not to wait for him and after awhile they reluctantly agreed.

“Fine but you better be careful. I still don’t trust that snake.” Kite said and surprisingly Kyo nodded in agreement.
“So who are you going to the dance.” Kyo said walking away.

Naruto didn’t hear what Kite said, and didn’t really care. He was still mad when they had asked him what girl he liked. Of course he said Ino and Sakura imminently. The next day it had spread around the whole community. Naruto was so embarrassed and Sasuke looked like he wanted to kill something. Naruto had figured it was him because Sasuke liked Sakura or so she told him.
Running a hand through his blonde hair, he headed to where the gate was. He saw the group there just standing around.

“Hey Naruto you came.” Haku said, stepping up to him ruffling up his hair Naruto. He scowled and batted the hand away. He hated when people did that, or said he was cute.

Itachi looked at Naruto smiling creepily. “Good to see you Naruto kun. Ok everyone lets go.” With that said everyone stepped into a sort of formation and headed off. Naruto walked with Haku a little in back. He still didn’t know where they were going. “Hey what are we doing.” Naruto whispered, looking around the stores that they were pass, were they going shopping?

Haku kept walking looking straight ahead. “Well all we really do is patrol our area and kick the other gangs off if we spot them, or threaten them.” Haku said casually, like it was an everyday occurrence. Naruto frowned, putting up his hands behind his back of his neck. So they were just walking around all the time? Man he could do that at “Space.”

“Hey Haku you don’t really kill the other gangs do you.” Naruto asked suddenly remembering what Kite had said.

Haku turned and smiled. “No we just beat the crap out of them, but there is one group called the “Snake” that killed one of our members.” Haku said darkly walking up a little. Naruto didn’t say anything else the rest of the day. It seemed to him that they were out for revenge. The whole day the group walked and basiclly hung out not seeing any gang member.

Naruto noticed that Sasuke was always with Itachi when he was around. He supposed that Sasuke looked up to his older brother. When they made there last rounds throughout the streets Naruto decided to go home.

But first he needed to go to the store to pick up some things that his mom had requested. Of course they weren’t going to be at home when he got back but he needed more Raman anyway. Putting his hands in his pocket he made his way towards the store. His parents were still working at “Space” and had said they would be for awhile. Something really got them into an up roar and the building.

H finally reached the store after being bumped and pushed by random people on the street. He went in and started to look for the things. He was just about finished only needing milk when he heard the ringing from the door, indicating more people had come in. Leaning his head back he saw two people with bandannas on that were black and red. One was a girl with long black hair and blue eyes that had a white shirt on and leather pants. The other one was a guy with short brown hair and had a black shirt on with black pants. The thing that caught Naruto’s attention from the guy was his eyes. The were actually grayish blue.
Naruto didn’t pay much attention to them after that wanting to get home. He was seriously starving. He was making his way out the door when he felt an arm on his shoulder. He turned around to see the man from earlier. “Hey kid are you with the “Chrono.” the man said. Naruto just stared at him. He could see in the corner of his eye that the woman was also looking at him like a piece of meat.

What was he talking about? Naruto thought then with dread he saw the bandanna on his arm, fuck he forgot to take it off.

“What do you want.” Naruto said casually, trying to sound calm and apparently failing with the laugh he heard from the girl.

“Nothing really I just haven’t seen you around before so I figured your new” He said sweetly. Naruto turned around nodded and then started to leave but the hand on his shoulder grew tighter. “Your cute,” he whispered in his ear, “next time I see you. You will be mine.” And with that he left with the other following. What the hell, Nartuo thought before he picked up his things he bought and bolted home. What did he mean by that and who were those freaks.

When he got home he soon found out by Sasuke, which he called that the black and red colors were the “Snake” gang there most hated rivals. Naruto then went into detail of what happened to him. Sasuke on the other line sounded pissed. Naruto had to stop laughing at the Uchiha, why would Sasuske sound protective?
“I will get them for killing my friend and teasing you.” Naruto heard Sasuke.

Naruto stopped and almost dropped the cell. So Sasuke had also lost a friend? There was silence for awhile until he couldn’t wait any more.

“Hey Sasuke what happened to your friend I mean,” Naruto said awkwardly.

There was a pause then silently the other spoke. “He was killed about a year ago while he got ambushed by the “Snakes” and…. He died at the hospital. He was only 17” Sasuke said.

Naruto said sorry and had hung up. He couldn’t believe that a 17 year old kid died just because of some stupid dispute about an area, that really made him mad and was one of the reasons why he had decided that he would go to college, either becoming a lawyer or a Dr. But first he would have to deal with school and his parents.
