“Hurry up ‘kashi or they’ll be late.” Hatake Iruka called in to his husband. Rokudaime he may be, he thought fondly, but some things never change.
Hatake Kakashi, famed copy-nin and respected sixth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf, had pitched a fit when the council demanded he have a child to continue the Hatake line. He reluctantly acquiesced when it was explained he need never even see the woman involved. He gave them their ‘damn donation’, grumbling and moaning the whole time.
His bit his lip when he remembered how breathtakingly beautiful his ‘ruka had looked as he cradled their newborn son. And then he chuckled as he recalled how nervous he himself was when his newborn daughter was placed into suddenly clumsy hands.
He was startled from his reverie by the twin clearing of throats. The Hatake genes had bred true. There stood Rin and Obito, looking like miniature versions of himself, arms crossed over their chests and feet tapping in impatience. “Honestly chichi,” his daughter began, “how you ever got to be Hokage is beyond me, I was telling jifu the other day . . .”
Her rant was interrupted by his husband’s voice, “Rin, now is not the time for this, you don’t want to be late on your first day.”
After all, today was a big day, the Hatake twins were five today . . . and that meant they could start at the ninja academy. Their parents had eschewed tradition, opting for the academy, rather than the private tutors that were usual for children of the Hokage.
The couple strolled through the quiet streets hand in hand, enjoying the sight of their children running ahead with their constant companion Bull and laughing as he asked them, yet again, if they were really sure about this school thing.
Hatake Iruka glanced at the smiling face of his unmasked husband. His heart lifted when he thought of the changes the years had wrought in the expressive face. When he compared the lonely broken man he’d found in the street to the happy confident figure striding beside him he broke out in a smile and impulsively leaned over to place a kiss on his cheek, squealing when the copy-nin turned it into a passionate lip lock, sweeping his husband into his arms and kissing him senseless.
“EWWWWWW” the twins exclaimed in unison “Chichi, jifu, don’t you think you’re a bit old for that mushy stuff” Rin inquired drily, head cocked to the side, looking so much like her father Iruka couldn’t help but chuckle.
“You’re never too old for love Rin.” Kakashi swooped down to whisper in his daughter’s ear. “It is the most precious thing, the love of another. If you’re lucky enough to find it, treasure it every day of your life.”
“But chichi,” his son chimed in, “a ninja is not supposed to show his emotions.”
“You know Obito, I believed that once,” the copy-nin replied thoughtfully, “But your jifu taught me differently. He showed me that it’s the human things, especially love, that we fight to protect. Besides,” he continued, “I’m the Hokage . . . I can do whatever I like.” he concluded with a smirk, chuckling inside at his son’s outraged hiss.
All too soon they reached the academy gates and Bull was appalled to find he was not allowed inside. True to his word he loved his ‘pups’, as he called the twins, and hadn’t been parted from them for more than a few minutes since their birth, fiercely protecting them from all threats, real and imagined.
“I’ll just wait here then.” he reluctantly conceded, dropping down in the grass outside he gate with a huff. “So I can bring them home when they’re done.”
The rest of the family continued through the gate, the former teacher glancing around nostalgically at the place he had worked for so many years. When they reached the door of the first year classroom, Iruka turned to the twins to ask “Are you ready?”. Getting slightly nervous nods he opened the door and stepped into the classroom, memories of his years in a room just like this flooding him.
The entire class immediately rose to attention, it wasn’t everyday the Hokage himself visited the academy. Iruka was pleased to see the teacher was none other than his old student Nara Shikamaru. Good, he thought, he’s smart enough to keep them in line.
After introducing the children to their new teacher the couple left, stopping outside to peer though the window in the door at the sight of the twins moving to seats as far from each other as the room would allow. “They’ll be fine.” the former teacher nudged his husband out of his rapt attention to the inside of the classroom. “They’ll tell us all about it when they get home.”
“I suppose,” his husband replied, “it’s just hard to let them go . . . they’re so very small.”
“So, were you my love, so were you.” Iruka replied, “But they want this just as much as you did at their age. Now, speaking of home, we have the whole day off and a house with no children . . . it would be a shame for such an opportunity to go to waste.” he finished huskily.
No sooner had the words left his lips than strong arms wrapped around his waist and made the signs for the transportation jutsu . . . moments later they were in their bedroom, Kakashi working to free his husband’s hair from its tie. He buried his hands in the thick strands, noticing how long Iruka’s hair had gotten, falling freely to small of his back. His cock hardened as he pictured that long hair tickling his thighs as the teacher rode him, head thrown back in passion as he impaled himself.
Eager hands made quick work of their remaining clothes and the copy-nin’s vision became a reality. He rocked up hard into the clutching heat, mismatched eyes focused on his husband’s face, mesmerized by the emotions found there. The teacher dipped his head and kissed his husband deeply. When they broke apart he ghosted kisses across a sharp cheekbone to husk one word in a delicate ear, “Mine.”, before throwing his head back with a hiss as his prostate was struck.
The sight was too much. Kakashi thrust once more and came hard, howling his pleasure as he shot blast after blast of come directly into his husband’s prostate, causing him to spray hot come between their bodies before slumping comfortably on the taller man with a sigh. “Love you ‘kashi.” he whispered, snuggling into the warmth of his pale, broad chest, placing tender kisses on the now smooth skin.
That was one of the best things he ever did for himself, Iruka mused, thinking back to when the twins had turned two. Not wanting his children to ever know about his past, the copy-nin had steeled himself and finally approached Tsunade to have his scars removed.
When she had angrily demanded an explanation he simply replied “I told you Iruka saved me . . . now you know what he saved me from.” and refused to comment on it further, laying back with a stoic face as she worked on the scars on his chest.
The brand, however, had been more difficult. The skin where it had been now had an odd, almost plastic, look. The copy-nin’s solution to that was to have his husband’s name tattooed in its place. Iruka smiled as he remembered his husband’s explanation, “It’s a mark of my devotion to you, not your ownership of me . . . I’d have put it on my forehead, but I decided it was a bit much.”
He smiled and kissed his dozing husband again before settling down with a sigh and succumbing to sleep himself. They were awakened when they heard arguing voices, but barely had time to blink before the door to their room was flung open, Bull and the twins tumbling in, all speaking at the same time.
They stopped dead in their tracks, falling silent at the sight that met their eyes. Rin immediately turned away covering her face and mumbling something about her eyes. Bull excitedly thumped his tail, howling about more puppies.
Iruka scrambled to pull a sheet over them as his son pinched his nose and proclaimed “You two are like rabbits, don’t you ever do anything else?”
“That’s it,” the embarrassed teacher rounded on his husband, “there is no way Jiraiya is babysitting them ever again.”
The copy-nin merely chuckled and sat up saying “We missed you guys, how was your first day?” holding out his arms. The twins bolted for the bed, flinging themselves into their father’s embrace and babbling excitedly about everyone and everything they had encountered that day.
“Jifu, what’s wrong?” Rin asked, noticing Iruka watching the three of them seriously, not joining in the boisterous conversation.
“Nothing’s wrong sweetheart,” he said, opening his arms for her to snuggle into his embrace, “I was just thinking how lucky I am, I have everything I ever wanted right here in this room.”
Kakashi slid an arm around his husband and drew him close “Me too ‘ruka.” he said and they both smiled, content in the warmth of the family they had made.
