An Unexpected Ally
It’s unbelievable what you can type with the right music. For some time I just couldn’t write the fight scene, until I downloaded a really cool song and BANG! I wrote the whole chapter within an hour.

Sparks flew everywhere when the two kunai’s met. Sasuke used all his strength in this attack, but nevertheless he was outmatched by the silver haired ninja. The raven haired got cut on his chest and received a merciless kick against his head. Because of the heavy impact he flew backwards into a tree. He sat there stunned for a moment, and watched dizzy how Shikamaru and Neji tried to hold the ANBU back. When the raven haired tried to stand up he could feel a stream of blood coming down from the top of his head. When it reached his eyebrow, he wiped it away and frowned. Then he lifted his trembling arms, and made quickly a few seals.
” Katon Goukakyuu no Jutsu!! “ ( Fire element; Grand Fireball )
A huge fireball flew out of Sasuke’s mouth and headed with unbelievable speed into the direction of Kakashi.
” Katon Goukakyuu no Jutsu “
In a blink of an eye, Kakashi had copied that spell and was now countering with it. When the two fireballs hit each other it caused an immense explosion that made some ANBU fly away. Neji and Shikamaru weren’t able to grab something, so they got thrown into the air but luckily they ended up in the same tree.
” No good, he’s copying my attacks! “ Sneered Sasuke. Once again, he raised his hands and began to perform another seal.
” Katon Housenka no Jutsu “ ( Fire element; phoenix fire )
But just as he thought, he saw Kakashi countering that attack with the same that Sasuke just had used. This wasn’t getting anywhere; right now he was just wasting his chakra. To beat Kakashi he had to rely on Taijutsu and stop using Ninjutsu.
” Mizu bunshin no Jutsu “ ( Clone attack )
Kakashi caught Sasuke completely off-guard with that seal. Three water clans emerged from the soaked mud and began to take shape. Then they charged forwards and tried to cut Sasuke with their water daggers. Sasuke quickly ducked and rolled forward only to stop behind one, but a second clone saw that and deflected Sasuke’s attack.
” This isn’t normal, “ muttered Sasuke. “ These clones aren’t supposed to be this strong “
Sasuke knew that he was no match against these guys, and only fire attacks could save him now. So he jumped high up, made a few seals and shouted: ” Katon Goukakyuu no Jutsu!! “
Thankfully for him, the trio got hit and they vanished just as quick as they had come.
” An opening “
Sasuke eyes widened and just before he could react to this voice he felt how strong arms were placed around him. Kakashi and Sasuke fell down with a dizzily fast speed, and when they were near the ground Kakashi let go of Sasuke and landed on the ground. Sasuke however smashed deep into the muddy ground. He could feel a couple of bones snap and he screamed it out.
He couldn’t move.
Every bone in his body screamed out of agony. Shit! He lost!
Kakashi walked silently up to Sasuke and placed his hand on the boys’ neck.
” Fuuja Houin “ ( Evil sealing Method )
The black dots on Sasuke’s body vanished. The raven haired’s last source of power just disappeared – Kakashi had sealed Orochimaru’s seal again.
” You four are going back to the village “ Said Kakashi with a serious and threatening tone.
” We… won’t… “ Stuttered Sasuke, spitting up some blood. “ If we return… Naruto will die…Kyuubi…released… “
” Then we have to kill Naruto before that “ The silver haired ninja had a pained look on his face.
” How… can you kill… your…student like that? Does… Naruto mean nothing to you? “
Kakashi kept staring to Sasuke for awhile, then he turned his back to the raven haired and whispered.
“ He means a lot to me – just as he does to you. But orders are orders, how can you call yourself a ninja if you ignore them? “
With a kunai drawn, he walked to the hut where Naruto was asleep. He was going to kill Naruto! He was going to silence him forever!
” Move! “ Shouted Sasuke in horror to his body. “ Move! Move! Move! Dammit! Move! “
But his body didn’t listen to him, he was completely broken. That last attack was so strong that several bones in his body were broken - he couldn’t even move one inch.
” STOP! STOP IT!! “ Screamed Sasuke.
He stared with a confused look to Neji and Shikamaru, but they were too busy dealing with the ANBU. There was absolutely no way that they could make it in time to Naruto’s place.
” Oh god no! “
But suddenly a kunai got thrown out of a tree just before the feet of Kakashi. The silver haired ninja looked up.
It was Iruka.
There was a confused look on Kakashi’s face when Iruka jumped down from the branch where he was standing on.
” Iruka, what are you doing here? “ Said the silver haired ninja with venom in his voice.
” I won’t let you kill Naruto “ Replied Iruka, brimming with self-confidence.
Kakashi took the kunai out of the ground and showed it to Iruka.
” Do you realize what you are saying? With this you’ll risk banning from Konoha “
It took some time before Iruka replied, but soon there was a warm and big smile on his face.
” I don’t care. If it’s to save Naruto’s life, I will go through hell if it’s necessary “
” Why Iruka? Why! “ Kakashi had his hands clenched into fists and pained look didn’t disappear from his face.
” Because-“ Began Iruka, still smiling. “ –He means a lot to me. The days I spent with him made me realize how much I care about him. It made me feel like he was my little brother, no even closer, maybe my own son. I hate to see Naruto in pain; a young boy like him should play with other kids instead of being hated for having Kyuubi inside of him. I already forgave Naruto, and that’s the reason why I am here. I am here to protect him, even if it costs me my life “
Kakashi’s arms were trembling and because of that he let the kunai fell in the mud.
” Retreat and regroup “
Kakashi and the ANBU disappeared in a flash. Both Shikamaru and Neji fell on their knees and gasped for air. They were exhausted and had used up all of their chakra. It was good that Kakashi decided to retreat, or else they might’ve lost against the ANBU.
” Are you all right? ” Asked Iruka worriedly when he hurried over to Sasuke.
” I am alive “ Sighed Sasuke. “ I think I broke a couple of bones, but I’m alive “
” We are all right! “ Said Neji, waving in the distance. “ Give us some time to catch our breath! “
” Yes! “ Replied Iruka, and then he turned his attention back on Sasuke.
” Here eat this; it’s a Recovery pill. It should take the pain away, and fasten the healing progress “
Iruka put a pill in Sasuke’s mouth, and the raven haired swallowed it with a sour face. It tasted like a lemon, but almost immediately he felt the pain in his body fading and with the help of Iruka he managed to stand up. Slowly and carefully they walked to the hut only to find Naruto still sound asleep. It seemed like the blonde has slept through everything – he probably wouldn’t even notice if the planet exploded. This however made Sasuke happy, this way he didn’t know that Kakashi had turned into an enemy. He sat down next to Naruto, and Iruka sat down in front of Sasuke.
” I never expected that you would show up “ Smiled Sasuke.
” I never thought I had to come here “ Confessed Iruka. “ When I went to go and visit Naruto I noticed he wasn’t home. I thought that the Hokage would know more of this, so I went to his place and asked where I could find Naruto. He told me that you had kidnapped him, and that ANBU were sent to bring you back. I couldn’t believe this and wanted to talk to someone, and I found Sakura on the street. She told me almost in tears what was happening to Naruto, and that she knew that the Hokage wasn’t planning to do anything about it. When I asked were you had taken Naruto, she told me that you and a few others had left the village to find an old recharge place to save Naruto “
” I feel like the whole village has turned their backs on us “
Iruka didn’t know how to reply to that. “ How is Naruto faring? “
” Some time ago Kyuubi almost succeeded in controlling Naruto. I knew I couldn’t stop him so I had my own seal released so I could keep Kyuubi inside with my power. This turned out in a short conversation and eventually he gave up. This might’ve stopped him for now, but I’m afraid that he might win the next time “
” You really took a risk by releasing your seal. What’s to become of Naruto if you lose your sanity? “
” I know… but this was the only option I had left – I was desperate dammit “
Iruka shook his head. “ No, you are right. I guess I would’ve done the same. Sasuke, what will you do if you encounter henchmen - or worse - Orochimaru himself? We are into his territory by now “
” I don’t know “ Replied Sasuke honest. “ If things would come to that, I think I would give myself to Orochimaru in exchange that Naruto can be recharged “
” You know what will happen when Orochimaru has you right? “
” of course “ Snorted Sasuke. “ He will destroy my soul and steal my body in order to gain immortality. But like you said ‘ I will go through hell if necessary ‘ “
Iruka gave a nod and when he made a moment to leave, he saw the confused look in the eyes of the raven haired.
” I have to go “ Sighed Iruka. “ I have to go back to Konoha and try to talk with the Hokage. I know this might sound strange, but maybe I can convince him to reconsider his options. Some wars can’t be avoided “
Sasuke gave a faint smile and Iruka left the hut.
The raven haired closed his eyes and took a deep breath – something he should’ve avoided. He felt like someone was stabbing him with daggers in his chest. Shit! At least three of his ribs were broken.
What the hell was wrong with everybody? Why was the Hokage so… different? Why was Kakashi so… different? These two were the ones that always believed in Naruto, and they always supported him. Then why this? Why did they change in something like this? It was almost unreal! He couldn’t comprehend it!
When Sasuke reopened his eyes, he stared straight into the concerned eyes of Neji.
” Gah! “ Yelped Sasuke startled.
” Sorry “ Grinned Neji. “ Everything ok? I saw how Kakashi threw you into the ground. For a moment I thought you were dead, thank the gods that you are still with us “
Sasuke smiled back in response, but his mind was drifting. What would happen now? Will Kakashi come back?
He had no idea what the future would bring them, and for now he didn’t want to think about it. For now, he just wanted to close his eyes and fall in a big dreamless sleep.
