"Kuso." Naruki swore. She tried the nth time for these last few days to get out of bed only to fall again on her back. She massaged, pinched and hit her legs only to find that she didn't feel anything. "Move! God dammit! Move!" she yelled to her legs but nothing happened. She punched her right leg this time, but only to receive the same response, nothing. She cursed again and crossed her arms looking at her legs. "Stupid legs." she said.
Naruki let out a deep sigh and leaned with her back against the wall. She concentrated her look on the legs and stared at them continously.
"Move!" she demanded. "Move! I said MOVE!" she yelled. "Move, I need the two of you!" she said. "I need you to help me against them!".
She made a pause from the yelling and stared with eyes wide open at the little finger from her left leg. It moved.
"Thank you." she said with teary eyes. "Now for the other ones." she said smirking.
Hours passed and Naruki struggled to make her feet able to walk. Sometimes she got interrupted by Karin who would bring her food or Sasuke who would just check up on her. Naruki observed that he wasn't a social person, he was cold, distant and she could see that from what he told her, he really wanted revenge by any cost. 'That makes the two of us, then.' she thought to herself.
'This coldness, it's so... like him." she said to herself after Sasuke left the room that night. 'He is like how Itachi was when I joined Akatsuki'. She frowned. 'He even looks like him. What if is a connection between them?'
She shook her head in anger. 'Stop being paranoid. Ichiro looked like him and you didn't say anything about him being related with Itachi and now you honestly think that the man who saved you from the burning village has a connection with Itachi.' she scolded herself. 'But still... something is strange.'
Naruki sighed and put away the tray with food which Sasuke brought her. She went to the edge of bed. 'Now or never.' she thought and her feet touched the cold floor. She rose carefully, and stood up. She made a step and for her surprise she didn't fell. Naruki let a sigh in relief and made the second, then the third until she finally paced along the room normally.
"Yes!" she jumped in air cheerfully and put her hand at the mouth, she yelled a 'little' too loud. Hearing that no one was coming towards her room, she stretched her arms and legs and smirked then she went straight at the door. She opened it slowly and saw that the room was dark, being impossible for her to see anything. She gulped and left the bedroom closing the door behind her without a noise. She made a few steps to her right thinking that maybe she'll find the way outside. She stayed too much in a house, she wanted outside.
She walked blindly with her hands forward so she wouldn't collide into a chair or table until her hands made contact with something. 'Strange. Is warm.' she said and and touched it again. She moved her hands up and down on the warm thing. 'And soft'. She rose her hands higher until she felt warm air hitting her hand.
"What is this?" she asked in a whisper.
"My face." a voice said then the lights went on and Naruki startled in surprise. She made a few steps back only to fall on her bottom. She rose her head and saw that Sasuke was in front of her without a shirt and his right hand on the switch. "I see that you can walk now." he said. Naruki blushed then a hand appeared at her face level. She saw that Sasuke stretched it and she caught it only to be lifted on her two feet. "Where were you going?" he asked crossing his arms.
"I just wanted to go outside." she said still blushing. Sasuke rose an eyebrow at her. "For air." she added. They sat a few moments like that staring at each other not saying a word until he took a deep sigh.
"Fine. But I'll go with you. It's still late for someone to go out." he said. Naruki nodded and Sasuke took a shirt to put it on.
They left the house in silence and walked through the forest which was surrounding the house. It was a silent night and also warm. 'I love summer.' she thought to herself as she walked along with Sasuke. He told her to make right and in a few minutes they arrived to a lake.
Naruki gazed at the large lake whose water reflected the full moon. It was beautiful. She went quickly at the edge of it and took a sit there, Sasuke followed her and took a sit as well. She dipped her fingers in the cold water only which amde her to shiver.
"Cold? Want to go back?" he asked but she shook her head "no" and retrieved her hand from the water.
"It's ok." she smiled. "This place is beautiful, I've never seen one like this before" she said.
"Hn. I usually come here alone to think." he said and stared at the water. "But it feels strange now that I'm with someone else in this kind of place." he said. Naruki smiled and splashed him over the face with with the remaining water from her fingertips making him to rise an eyebrow at her. She chuckled.
"Strange as in a bad or good thing?" she asked.
"Both, I think." he smirked. "But the first one most." he added and Naruki splashed him again, this time with real water. But he was quicker and jumped away from the water attack smirking. After the little attack stopped he landed closer to her than before. She was about to say something and he backed away a little realising that he invaded her personal space. When he did that he felt a grip around his arm and turned to her.
"I wanted to say thank you." she whispered. "I realise that I didn't told you before but... thank you. Thank you for saving me from the burning village and for taking care of me these three years while I was in coma. You probably had other things to do and I kinda got in the way, I guess." she said and blushed. Embarassed with her unusual habit to blush everytime she leaned her head forward so he wouldn't see it. But right then, his left hand rose her chin so he could see her face. She rose her gaze from the ground and stared into his black eyes.
"You're welcome" he said and rose her chin higher. "You know... it's ok to be strong, bu it's also ok to cry." he said. Naruki stared at him confused. "I watched you, you fight with youself so you won't cry." he said and made a pause. "You're still a human and you still have emotions. You don't have to hold back your tears." Naruki nodded and he let go of her chin. Before she knew it, she started to cry hard. He pulled her at his chest and she leaned into it still crying.
"I hate all of them!" she said between her sobs. He didn't say anything, he just patted her on the shoulder to comfort her. He felt saddened too, she was sharing the same experience as he did before. His happy life was taken away from him as all his family got slaughtered by his own brother and now the same brother along with his other nine partners slaughtered a family which she was going to belong to.
It was sorrowful, wedding usually meant joy, happiness, eternity but it's meaning was taken away by ten men who transformed it into a massacre. Not to mention that she lost her unborn children. He narrowed his eyes. When he found her, she had hits and cuts all over her body but her abdomen didn't took any of them. She protected them with her own life. If it hadn't been that poison which destroyed tissues, they would have lived.
"They didn't have to die." she said hiccuping.
"It's not your fault." he said and Naruki widened her eyes open. He was wrong, very wrong. The disappearance of a great village as Amgakure was her fault. Only if she wouldn't have stopped there and only if she wouldn't have met Ichiro, nothing like that would have happened. She hiccuped, Ichiro was a great man, he didn't deserve to die.
She was like poison, everything she would touch and anywhere she would go, people would die. Because of her.
Naruki let out a deep sigh and leaned with her back against the wall. She concentrated her look on the legs and stared at them continously.
