Can't Live Without Love

So, I'm out of Mountain Dew, and that stuff helps me think. But I do have a huge bag of M&M's, so that helps. And, I don't think 'cockier' is a word, but I used it anyways. Deal.

OMG. So, I had all except the last few sentances written, and then I read 'The Demon Prince and the Golden Shadow' by Genova Fromm, and saw that what happened to Kyuubi there happens here. I swear that I didn't steal it. Weather you believe me or not is up to you.

Ch. 4: Why Does This Hurt?

When Shino, Kiba, and Hinata came back with the bad news, everyone close to Naruto went into a temperary state of depression. Well, everyone except Sasuke, who locked himself in his room for a week. And when he finally did come out, he was more emo-ish than usual.

Kakashi had always had a good idea of Sasuke's relationship with Naruto, and the way he was reacting confirmed it. It's probably a good thing he didn't read the note, or he would have killed Sasuke for making Naruto leave.

While Sasuke was having his week of depression, Naruto was having a week of the best sleep he's ever had. Not counting, of course, the night he slept with Sasuke.

And Kyuubi had a week of thinking, planning, and finding Itachi's trail without interuption. He had worked out all of the kinks by the time Naruto awoke.

**Kyuu?**

*Yes kit?*

**Where are we?**

*Tea Country.*

**Why?**

*Cause I don't want to wander around a desert or pass through Rice Country.*

**Isn't that the place that has the Hidden Sound Village?**

*Yes.*

**I don't want to see that place ever again.**

*Stupid snake-bastard. I can't believe he thought that he was more powerful than me. 'Curse Seal can't be removed' my ass. All I had to do was bite the brat.**

Naruto rolled his eyes and ignored the last two sentances. **Just because you're in my body doesn't mean your the most powerful creature alive.**

*Creature? What the hell is that supposed to mean?*

**Well, right now you look like a human with fox ears and a tail. When you attacked the village you looked like a giant fox with nine tails. I just didn't know what to call you.** Then Naruto noticed what he was saying. **Fox ears and tail? What the hell were you thinking?**

*This is my human form. Deal with it.*

Naruto growled, but was still a little sleepy. He went back to sleep, not bothering with a comeback. 'Stupid Sasuke. This is all (yawn) his fault.'

Kyuubi continued walking, though he was a little mad that he couldn't tell Naruto about his idea. 'Earth Country? What the hell is he doing there?' Determined to find out, the fox continued to follow Itachi's trail.

Sasuke had gone back to his emotionless mask to hide the fact that no, he wasn't feeling any better about Naruto's disapperence. And nobody would let him go out and find the blonde. Which was just as well, being as he wasn't a blonde at the moment.

So he tried to think about a suitable canidate to be his wife. Then he realized that the only girls he trusted already had a boyfriend. Hell, the only single person he trusted was Neji, but Sasuke isn't gay. Isn't that why he stopped his relationship with Naruto in the first place? The dobe was just a person he could take his sexual frustrations out on.

Sasuke kept telling himself just that. His idiot was just someone he trusted enough to fuck randomly and not tell anybody. Because he had no feelings for his dobe.

The raven stopped in the middle of the street, then shook his head. It was a slip-up. Naruto was not his. Nor did Sasuke want him to be. Yup, the bastard is in denial.

*****

*So, kit. You're finally awake.*

Naruto mentaly stretched. **Mm-hm. I feel great. Now where are we?**

*About a day away from Earth Country.*

**Why are we going there?**

*I'm looking for somebody.*

**Who?**

*You'll find out when we find him.*

**We? You have control of my body.**

*About that. I have an idea. I figured out a way to get my own body.*

**What? No!**

*Why not?*

**I can't have you running around freely. You might start destroying villages again!**

*I was forced to attack Konoha. Besides, I'd be on a leash.*

**You're going to put a collar on?**

*No. But some of your chakra will be in me, so only you can control me...to a degree.*

**How much is 'to a degree'?**

*Well, you get to control how far away from you I can go, your chakra can stop mine if I get out of hand, and you'll know everything that I think...* Naruto's eyes went wide as he blushed. Kyuubi was as perverted, if not more, as Kakashi. *...but only if you concentrate hard enough.*

Naruto let out a sigh of relief. **So, how do I do it?**

*First, you make a shadow clone with as little chakra as possible.* Naruto opened his mouth, but Kyuubi interupped him. *Do now, ask later.* Trusting the demon, the blonde did as he was told. *Now, concentrate on bringing my chakra out of your body and slowly into the clone's. But only mine; I don't want you to use more chakra than necessary.*

Naruto made the Ram handsign -(there's a statue of it in the room of the plimary chunin exams) -and concentrated on Kyuubi's red chakra. It gathered around his hands, then went from the real Naruto to his clone.

"Stop."

He was begining to feel weak, and was gratefull when Kyuubi's voice told him to stop. It was when he realized the the voice didn't come from his head that the no-longer-Kyuubi-vessle opened his eyes. Right in front of him was Kyuubi in his human form.

"Good job, kit."

"Kyuu?"

"Yup. There's a town a few hours away. We'll go there so that you can get some ramen and rest."

"Alright!" Naruto's doubts from earlier had vanished when he heard 'ramen'.

Most of their walk was in silence. Naruto still wasn't sure what to make of this siuation, and Kyuubi was wondering how this was affecting his kit.

His question was answered when Naruto tripped over a tree root. "Ow." The blonde examined his ankle. It looked like it should be sprained, but didn't hurt very much. When the pain was almost gone, he stood up, thinking it was healed.

Kyuubi watched as Naruto fell down again from trying to use that foot. 'Strange.'

"Kyuu, why does this hurt?" Naruto asked in confusion. "I've had worse wounds than this, but they never hurt this much."

The fox thought for a minute, then felt like slapping himself. "It's because I'm not in you, so you don't have my healing chakra anymore."

"Oh. Well, do you know any healing jutsu? 'Cause this really hurts."

Kyuubi sighed. He had been spoiling his vessel his entire life. Every time Naruto got even the littlest cut, Kyuubi would instantly numb then heal it. It only makes sense that the blonde wouldn't have any pain tolerance.

"Here." The kitsune placed his hand where the seal used to be, and gave Naruto some of his chakra. "That should help."

The pain quickly disappeared. "Yep! Thanks Kyuubi!"

"No problem kit. I am, after all, the all-powerfull Nine-tailed demon, Kyuubi no Kitsune."

Naruto groaned. It was bad enough when the demon was behind bars. Now that he was almost as free as a human, his attitude just got cockier.
