Chapter 4
Sorry that this update is so,so late..I have assignments to finish when I really wish i could be writing. Thank goodness the term is almost over ^^ Thank you for the reviews also!
Yes, We're still in the past. I still have somethings to wrap up before I zip back to the present.
The Monday morning was wet, bleak. Muted sunlight rays hit the pavement as he walked through school grounds at a comfortable pace, barely mindful of the student’s milling around him, some talking in whispers. He was highly aware that they were talking about him, as they usually did, but it still unsettled him that it could also be about what happened at Kiba’s.
A sick feeling bubbled in his stomach as a flurry of images came to the forefront once again, but he didn’t stop, his body moving automatically to where to he had marked as his place in the library. It was a silent agreement, as everyone knew he sat there to study, no one daring to disturb him. Except for that dobe. He set down his binder and laptop bag, pulling out the sleek HP laptop and booting it up. As the XP logo came into vision, his mind drifted.
How was he supposed to face Naruto? What would he tell him? He would imagine that the blond would be off somewhere being his usual self, and his head sank a little at the thought.
It sparked his anger that Naruto hadn’t called, hadn’t enquired about him, but it also bit at him because he knew it was his fault. He knew as he combed his fingers through his raven bangs and typed in his password, that his heart was calling out for its other half.
He wanted so readily for that 100 watt smile to be directed at him again, give him hope. To bury his nose in that tan neck and inhale deeply the scent that distinctly defined his lover. He knew also that it wasn’t going to be that easily.
Ever since he and Naruto had identified their feelings for each other, everything had moved in sync. Their feelings, emotions, understanding of each others wants. Now he just felt like a siren that’d lost its voice forever roaming the sea for its lost love but lacking the tools for him to come back.
Why does it hurt so much? He didn’t know being away from him, would shake the very core of his being so. With a resonated sigh, he started on his paper, pushing thoughts of Naruto to the back of his mind.
Sasuke noticed the making of a sunrise through the window, the glow tinting reflections on the glass. Checking his watch he realized that he has class in about an hour.
He could most likely go and grab some lunch before that. Packing up and get ready to go, he was startled when he found himself staring into a pair of eyes that sent him off the deep end.
Clear eyes reminiscent of a blue sky stared into his own, before pulling away.
“Sasuke.” Naruto’s eyes widened a little as he took in the raven’s appearance.
Sasuke wore a dark blue hoodie over a pair of ruffled designer jeans, his hair askew for once. They were the presence of dark shadows under his eyes. His coal deep eyes were looking everywhere else except at Naruto.
He looked like he was having a pretty rough week. More like a rough month to be precise.
“Uzumaki.”
Naruto flinched a bit. He was more accustomed to Sasuke calling him rude nicknames than his actual own; it felt really foreign to his ears. It stung that they had become so impersonal already.
“How have things been?” Naruto forced a smile, behind it was something he didn’t want to show Sasuke right now; his fragility.
“Splendid. Now if you will excuse me, I have to go to class.” Sarcasm dripping from his voice, Sasuke moved to pass him, but a broad chest stood in his way. Looking up he caught the serious look in his boyfriend’s eyes.
“We have to talk Uchiha.” Now Sasuke knew he was serious. Naruto NEVER addressed him by his last name. Ever. He was willing to chance it.
“I don’t have time for this right now.” A firm hand was on his bicep in a second when he tried to move again.
“No, you won’t make the time. I know that you’ve been avoiding me and it has to stop.”
“Who are you to dictate what I have to do?” Sasuke really didn’t want to deal with this right now, his voice raising.
“Sasuke, please.” The word was squeezed out as a last thought, a way to reason with him.
“Fine, but not here. We’re already drawing enough attention as it is.”
They were getting curious stares from folks in the library, with the mistress standing not too far away with a trained eye on them.
They swiftly moved out the library, Sasuke walking a little dejectedly behind Naruto.
He was maybe overreacting about the whole situation, but it still bothered him that his boyfriend was sucked off by someone else, Naruto was supposed to be his alone.
It wasn’t as if he’d cheated on him, he wouldn’t have any balls if that happened, but Naruto had sat down satisfied and not called him for a whole month. Even if they’d been together for only two years, he still had to care right?
He zoned back in as he realized that the blond’s steps had stopped. He was leaning lazily against his truck, hands folded on his chest.
“Are we going somewhere? I thought it was only a talk?”
“The Apartment. I am still living there you know.”
“Can’t we just stay here?” He questioned, puzzled.
Naruto smiled, genuinely amused. “Yep that’s fine too if you’d rather talk about it on campus and risk everyone finding out. I know you wouldn’t want that.”
Sasuke visibly blanched. He already had his hands full with the hoards of girls that wanted a piece of him; even though they were fully aware he had a boyfriend, and would give anything to get gossip on him. On campus definitely wasn’t an option. He didn’t want to be in the school paper tomorrow as a headline.
“Let’s go get food instead. I still haven’t eaten and I want to reach back in time for class.
“Just give me the keys.” The blond laughed as a loud grumble was heard from Sasuke as his stomach growled embarrassingly.

The ride to the Pizza Hut was quieter than he’d hoped. There was so much that they had to discuss with each other and Naruto was the first to break the silence.
“I just want to say, that I’m really sorry about what happened.” A little startled after ten minutes of nothing he turned to glance at the blond whose gaze was focused on the road.
“No, I should be the one apologizing. I overreacted-” Sasuke found himself rambling, trying to get everything out.
“Wait until I finish.” Naruto’s voice was steely and his grip visibly tightened on the steering wheel.
“Hn.” The raven kept his thoughts to himself and waited for his boyfriend to continue.
“I acted like a jerk, which could not be excused even though I was drunk. It was highly inappropriate with what happened at Kiba’s and it hurt me even more when I saw how you reacted, locking me out. Countless times I wanted to talk to you, but” He paused for a breath and strengthened his resolve to get this over with.
“I didn’t know what to say. You can really be uptight sometimes, rather, all the time (Sasuke glared at him) but that just one of the many things that I love about you.” He glanced to his right to see how Sasuke was taking this and noticed a faint blush on his cheeks.
“You’re quite the possessive bastard Sasuke, but I’ll be damned to hell if I let anyone else have you, or let you slip out of my fingers.”
Naruto shut the engine and clambered out the truck as they arrived outside the fast food outlet, waiting for Sasuke to get out before he activated the alarm and threw him the keys.
“How the hell I let you drive this thing I don’t know.” Sasuke shook his head in amazement; his mind fizzled still by Naruto’s words. In his chest his heart was beating erratically.
Naruto could really have a way with words when he wanted to and ruffled Sasuke’s feelings better than anyone. He didn't think that they would make up this easily, and felt like his guard was really lowered this time.
He just wanted them to overcome that growing space. There was still something bothering him though, something he felt Naruto had closed off and was hiding from him. He could always find that about later he decided.
“Does that mean I’m forgiven?” A childish look appeared in Naruto’s eyes as he stood by and nosed Sasuke’s neck playfully, wrapping an arm around his waist.
“Idiot! Not in public! There are kids around here!” Naruto only smiled more and pulled Sasuke closer.
“Just for that I’m making you pay, and you’re only half forgiven. You still gotta make it up to me.” Sasuke smirked wickedly at how fast Naruto soured.
“Why must you always spoil my good mood?” He pouted and jutted his tongue at Sasuke before pulling out his wallet. “I think that I just might have enough.”
“Dobe, don’t let me make good use of that tongue for you.”
Naruto faked a look of complete violation, his right hand pressed against his chest in shock. “And they call me a pervert!!”
I love you guys leaving comments and love if you would continue!
