I know I’m mixing the Godfather ( not really) with Naruto, but it works. At least I think so, If you guys don’t agree with it, please tell me.

I’m hoping to put a yaoi scene in this chapter, I hope so. In the last couple chapters I was trying to make a link between the two characters.
At least its been established that Shikamaru wouldn’t mind it. Also that Sasuke is already like that. Thanks for your support..

* Truth’s Gate*

= Two days before the date in question, 11:53 A.M. =

I walked briskly down the street towards the mini-mart. I was still feeling a bit off, But I tried to push that aside. There were a lot of things weighing on my mind. I really didn’t know what to make of any of this, or where I stood.

All I could really think about was Sasuke. I wonder who he really was, If he was some one to be feared, hated, or maybe.. No, what was wrong with me, the guy was a cold fish, towards me any way.


I wasn’t taking to this very well tho, nothing like this has happened to me before. I’ve only read or watched movies about these kinda of things.

Of course I’ve seen my share of messy cases, but I guess those were all child’s play. So far I was safe really, I could back out of it and not go back. I thought that over briefly.


I could hear Tsunade’s words in the back of my brain, they tickled at me. “ with out him, we’d all be lost.” I rub my temple, “ Protect him..” “Shit..” I curse, images of that pitiful looking man flashed before my eyes.

I couldn’t do it, not now, after all he was hiding out at my place and what had happened.

They’d find me sooner or later. Besides If I ran like a coward, I’d never be able to look at my self in the mirror. Me and My damned morals.

I was in this now, I decided, I’d do what I could. He did pay me after all. Who knows, maybe this is some kinda destiny. Some thing that was meant to happen, good or bad.

I walk threw the sliding doors of the mini-mart. For the Lunch hour, it seemed pretty empty. I wasn’t paying attention to this, maybe I should have.

I just start grabbing stuff of the shelves, putting them in to the cart. Then I hear laughing towards the back, it sends a chill down my spin.

It wasn’t really an evil laugh, but sounded like some one coughing. Only reason I knew it was a laugh, was because some one else was laughing with him.

It was coming from the back of the store. I can’t help but be curious. I casually get closer, and listen in on the two mens conversation.

One of the men had long black greasy hair, that hung in his face. He kinda looked like a snake. His skin was deathly white. He was dressed in a three piece suite, looked like Itlain.

I could feel a knot growing in my stomach. I wasn’t liking this. Then I took a good look at his partner.

He had white hair, which was odd, the man looked pretty young. It was tied back in a pony tail, and he wore glasses. He too was dressed in a three piece suite, But it was a mauve color.

I tried my best to act like I wasn’t spying, I don’t think they even noticed me.

“ Hey Orochimaru-san, do you think we’ll find the brat soon.” the one in mauve spoke, “ We better, Itachi-sama has already told the family that he’s dead. So it will be bad if the kid shows up..” the greasy one answerd.

“Yea and it will be our heads, I swear I nailed him last night tho.” He shook his head. “ we don’t know that, Kabuto-kun, besides Itachi-sama want’s the body for proof. I swear the guy is already paranoid. He’s already stretching his authority, with that ‘big deal tonight.’”

“ Yea, that freaking brat wouldn’t have the balls do to some thing this big. That guy was a goody to shoe’s, I bet it would be the end of the ‘family’ if he took charge. The guy was a pussy.” they both chuckle a bit.

“ The sooner we get this hit over with, the better. Its seem’s Uzumaki and Aburame are in protest to every thing. I think they should just shut there traps, if they knew what was good for them.” the snake man added.

“ Aburame has some power to him, that’s why Itachi-sama being careful not to piss him off. But He could careless about that retard Naruto. I bet that punks looking for Sasuke right now.” Four- eyes, opens a cooler and takes out a drink.

“ That’s why the boss told use to shoot him, if he gets in the way.” grined the snake. “Oh well, I got what I wanted lets go.” Four-eyes shakes the bottle of green tea in his hands.

Oh crap, I think to my self, realizing I had to hide some where. They were making there way towards the front. I duck down behind a display of cans that were stacked on top of each other.

They pay for there drinks and walk out threw the sliding doors. I make sure the cost is clear, and exhale. I wipe my forehead, the sweat gathering there was becoming uncomfortable.

“ Holy shit,” I get out of my hiding place. “ what are the odds of that happing.,” I whisper. My hands are shaking, my heart beat racing. What I just heard, could help us out, a lot. Now I knew the faces of the guys that were after Sasuke.

I knew I had to find this Uzumaki Naruto guy, that he’d handle all of this. That was going to be hard, but until then Sasuke will be my concern. I pay for the food and head back.

I keep my eye’s open for those guys, but I was pretty sure they didn’t notice me. I double check before I get close to the apartment complex. “Good”, I cross the street and claim the stairs to the second row of rooms.

I un-lock the door, and push it open. Sasuke is siting there with his gun drawn. “IT’S ME..” I shout out. “Yea good thing.. I was getting bored.” He put the gun back down on the table.

I put the groceries down next to the gun, and notice some thing different about my place. It was clean, “ I can see you’ve keep your self busy.” He smirks at me, then gets a can of soda.

“ It bothered me, so I fixed it. I was pretty surprised, wasn’t nearly as bad as it could have been.” Was he being civil with me? I hand him a sandwich, “ you know what, I think I have some thing interesting to tell you.”

He looks up to me, “ Oh really..what’s that?” I proceed to tell him about my chance encounter with the thugs. “ This Naruto fellow seems to be looking for you.. I bet he could help.”

He eats the sandwich, which seems to be less then satisfying. “ He’s a good man, but Naruto couldn’t tosses a stick three inches in front of him, let alone help us out.” He used ‘us’..damn.. “well, we don’t have a choice now do we?”

“ I think If I can get Shino’s help that’s one thing, but If every one thinks Im died. Maybe I rather let sleeping dogs lie.” He takes a drink, “ what do you mean by that?”

He sighs as if he doesn’t want to explain him self, “ your pretty nosey.” “ I’m just trying to understand you, cause im pretty confused about some things.” trying to get answers out of this guy was slightly annoying.


He smiles and looks at his pop can, “ understand me.. I don’t even understand. What’s there to be confused about.” He looks at me again, this really wasn’t the time for riddles, at least I didn’t think so.

As if he was reading my mind, he finally answers my question. “ I wasn’t cut out to be a criminal, I rather not be come one. Simple enough..or did you just assume I’d enjoy carrying this gun around and shoving it in to peoples faces?”

Point taken, “sorry, at least I heard it from the horses mouth. Those guys, there not going to stop hunting you, tho. They maybe idiots, but there trained killers. You don’t want to end up dead for real?”

“ I know that and of course I don’t want to die.” he looks annoyed. “ Then what do we do? We can’t go to the police..” He raises a brow at that..

“ We can...I know how to get my brother behind bars, and that will be the end of it. The police have been trying to dig up dirt on him. If..” I caught on, “But we don’t know the details of this ‘big deal’..and how would we pull some thing like that off?” I cross my arms.

I think for a moment, “ If we find Naruto.. He’d probably know..could he?..” I takes a sandwich and biting in to it. “Don’t know..” he answers back.

“ I think, I know some one that can help.. An old friend owes me a favor, If we get info on what’s going on.. We could pull some thing off.” I had no real idea of a plain, but im sure some thing would come to mind.

“ Hmmm.. If I get a hold of Naruto and ask him to sniff around, he’ll get him self killed. He’s a loyal friend, but not really cut out for this ether. I trust him though, so I’ll get a hold of him. When im ready..” he inter laces his fingers, resting his chin on them.

“We don’t have much time to dattle..” I finish off the sandwich, It wasn’t that bad. “ yea, but If I call him.. It could mess things up.” Okay what was he talking about now?

“Huh” I grab a can of pop, and take a swig. “ He’ll given in to her, tell her that I’m alive.. I know it. Then he’ll try to make me come back for her sake. I can’t do that, I won’t. He’s such an idiot, he loves her, Yet I know he’d do some thing like that.” He puts his palms on the table.

I point a finger at him, “ your going to have to explain that.” He leans over the table and lays his head on his arms. “ I knew you were nosey,” I see, so you want to explain this one, odd.

“ I was engaged, more like an arranged marriage, one of those deals,” I smirk. “ That’s not good, It will never work, what would your boyfriend have to say to that?” I say chuckle lightly. He lifts his head from the table, and just stares at me.

He doesn’t seem angry or even sad, just placid, “What, did I say some thing off?” “ You could tell..that’s a first.” “Ahh..It’s more like, I took a good guess. I got some major hint’s from Tsunade.”

“ Think you can see the big picture now, right.” “ Pretty much, not sure how I can fix this mess though” I fish threw the plastic bags for the bread I bought. Sasuke gets up from his seat and stretched, he winces a bit. His arm must have hurt like hell.

“ Hey be careful,” I look at him “you don’t want to rip open again.” He looks at his arm, then to the floor. I get up and walk over to him, “are you okay?”

“ I’m fine,” He whispers, I put my hand on his shoulder. “ Hey..It doesn’t seem like it to me,” He looks up, I see tears forming. Oh no, I don’t know what to do, “ I know this is a lot.. For any one to handle. I’ll try my best, to do what I can..”

He turns his head and wipes his face, “sure..that’s what I hired you for.” I take his face with my hands. I wanted him to see how serious I was being.

“ This isn’t just another job for me..” My hands where trembling, what’s gotten in to me? what was I saying? I knew I was getting carried away, by what, I didn’t know.

It felt really hot under the collar, all of a sudden. Looking in to his face, I realized he had the most stunning eyes. I bet he was horrified, we had just met and we had this deep connection already. Mostly due in part of what was going on around us.

“What time is it?” he asked me, I look for my alarm clock. It was a cheap battery clock “ Almost 3:00.. I really do need to get a wrist watch.” He sat up, “We better find Naruto... he’s the only one that can help us now..”
I liked how he said ‘us’ this time, It was different. “Yea, lets get cleaned up.. Then you should give him a call.” I smiled, “ shower?” “Let’s” he grinned.
