Taking the Test Again

I don’t own Naruto, any of it’s characters nor do I profit from my fics.

Hey Everyone! I don't think I'll be able to get another update in before I leave this weekend. However, watch out Sunday night!

“Okay, so change of plans, you guys go do your hike thing, Kurenai, Shizune, and I are going to the store to get something in here for dinner tonight.” Anko said.

“You’re not coming on the hike with us?” Kakashi asked. He really wanted Anko to go on the hike with him.

“No baby, I’m going to the store with Kurenai to fix you something for dinner.” Anko insisted.

“Alright, well can I make a request?” Kakashi asked her.

“Of course.” Anko said.

“Eggplant, I don’t care how you fix it, just fix something eggplant.” Kakashi told her.

“Okay, I’ll get some today.” Anko said. She kissed him goodbye and Kakashi, Iruka, Gai, Asuma, Genma and Hayate left the house.

“Okay girls, what do you say we go explore the town and grocery shop?” Kurenai was mainly talking to Anko but she knew they had to take Shizune with them.

“Let’s go.” Anko said putting her shoes on and the three of them were off. But they didn’t leave before Anko told Pakkun to behave himself or she would skin him alive.

“How far is this hike?” Iruka asked Asuma.

“It’s 8 miles round trip, so it’s a pretty easy hike.” Asuma said. The six of them started up the mountainside ledge; it was a cool mid morning but not cold and intolerable.

“Asuma, Kurenai wasn’t pregnant are you relieved?” Kakashi asked. Asuma didn’t answer right away.
“Man, I really don’t know. I mean on one hand a baby is a huge commitment and a baby changes your life forever. Yet on the other hand, I would love to be a father with Kurenai as my child’s mother.” He answered.

“God, Anko and I would be completely insane if she found out she were pregnant.” Kakashi told him. Asuma laughed.

“Kakashi, I can’t even begin to imagine the two of you as parents. I mean I’m by no means saying that you and Anko wouldn’t make good parents…I just can’t picture you and her ever having kids.” Asuma said.

“Well, we haven’t really talked about anything like that but I can pretty much guarantee that Anko will never agree to shoving babies out of her vagina.” Iruka thought this was hilarious and Gai just couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

“Right, Like Anko would ever have kids, you know as well as I do she would never go for that.” Iruka said.

Meanwhile, in town, Anko, Kurenai and Shizune were in the store looking for whatever groceries they could haul back with them.

“Anko, I think I need to take the test again.” Kurenai told her, they had sent Shizune off to get a sack of potatoes.

“What? What do you mean take the test again?” Anko asked throwing a box of cereal into their cart.

“Well, today is the third day of my missed period. I think I got a false negative the first time.” Kurenai said.

“Well, let’s get another test. I get the idea that you want to be pregnant, Kurenai.” Anko said picking up a loaf of French bread.

“I think I do. “ Kurenai said.

“Wow…” Anko paused. “Well, if you take the test again and you are pregnant, can I be the one that teaches your child about sex?” Kurenai laughed so hard she nearly ran their buggy into an old woman.

“Oh god, Anko, there is no one better to teach the possible child growing inside of me about sex than you.” They both laughed. Shizune appeared with the potatoes.

“Okay girls, what are we going to fix with the potatoes?” Shizune asked.

“Hmmm…I’m supposed to get an eggplant for Kakashi, but let’s fix chicken with it.” Anko said.
“Great idea, chicken and a pregnancy test.” Kurenai said. And they were off to the meat counter.

The guys were halfway through their hike. It was only at this point that they all wondered why they would go on such a non-challenging hike when all of them were highly trained ninjas.

“What do you think Kurenai, Anko and Shizune will cook tonight?” Gai asked.

“I told Anko to get an eggplant, so there will definitely be eggplant. You know what, before we left today, I forgot to tell her to make sure Pakkun had food. Anyway, there will be eggplant.” Kakashi said.

“I wish they would have come with us, I mean we didn’t intend on the three of them staying behind and getting food in.” Iruka said.

“This is true, but I think they are okay. I mean they seldom spend time together, the three of them. They are always with us.” Hayate said.

“Yeah, you’re right.” Iruka said. After another half hour of climbing they had reached the summit of the small mountainside. It was really a nice view of the valley below and the pine trees were lined up as far as the eye could see. There were birds soaring about most likely scavenger birds, scanning the forest floor. There was a cold breeze blowing through the air, it was chilly but the six of them decided to spend some time saving this solitary piece of nature.

“See this is exactly why I wanted Anko here today. I mean it’s great being up here with you guys but it’s a view like this that I would love to share with you.” Kakashi said.

“God you are so whipped…I love seeing you like that.” Gai said. Kakashi smiled underneath the dark blue mask. “Seriously, Kakashi, it’s been a long time coming for you, too long in fact, so please, stay this way.” Gai patted him on the back, Gai was right Kakashi had never been this way before in his life and it was long overdo.

“No Pakkun. No Pakkun. No Pakkun. No Pakkun. Damn you…no!” Pakkun continuously followed Anko around the kitchen hoping that she would give him something to eat. She was browning the chicken over the stove and Pakkun was watching her closely. Kurenai was upstairs taking her second pregnancy test and Shizune was peeling potatoes in the sink.

“Hey, will you do something for me?” Anko asked Shizune. Of course Shizune wouldn’t say no, when Anko asked you to do something you sure as hell didn’t say no…especially when you were Shizune.

“Sure.” She answered.

“Peel that eggplant for me when you’re done with the potatoes, and make sure all the skin is completely off, Kakashi hates skin on the eggplant.” Anko told her. “Damn you! This little piece of chicken is cooked, what will you do for me if I give it to you?” Anko asked Pakkun disgusted that he was still under her feet. Pakkun promised to go to sleep on the rug in front of the fireplace. So, Anko gave in to him and gave him a piece of chicken.

Kurenai came down the stairs and walked up to the bar countertops that surrounded the kitchen area. Anko looked at her.

“It was positive…” Kurenai said, her face had a look of shock across it.
