The Heiress part 2

Alpha: And carry on.

Every Woman Loves a Man that Will Listen

III. The Shy Innocent Heiress 3.2

Five minutes after Hinata calmed down, she sat next to the blond male on his sofa. She kept stealing glances at him as she shakily stirred the raspberry tea in her cup for lack of something to do to keep her mind occupied.

Hinata would chance a look at Naruto every time she figured he was not looking at her. When Naruto would turn and smile brightly at her, she’ll smile at him and look away the moment she felt her face flush from embarrassment.

Naruto gently brought his larger hand to Hinata’s making contact. Startled, the Hyuuga heiress looked at Naruto for an explanation.

“Calm down,” he said softly to her, “Keep on stirring that and you’ll make the tea spill all over the place.”

It wasn’t just that, the clinking noise of spoon hitting the side of china cup was kind of annoying him.

“Sure, sorry Naruto-kun,” Hinata smiled at him, silently enjoying the feeling of his hand on her skin.

“He has nice hands,” she absent mindedly said aloud, thinking she only thought it.

“Thank you,” Naruto told her, he was getting a kick out of the woman blushing and teased her a little more by purposely letting his hands linger on her own. He stroked her soft pale skin slowly and sensually.

Naruto came closer to her slowly. Hinata felt her heart beat faster in her chest. Naruto whispered to her in his deep voice, “Mind telling me why you came here?”

For a long moment, Hinata said nothing. Just marveling at how bold Naruto was being with her. The closeness of him penetrating her personal space made her uncomfortable and a little aroused.

Seeing her discomfort, Naruto backed off a little. He concluded he played around enough with Hinata. He did genuinely want to know why she came. If he was her boyfriend, he was sure he wouldn’t like the idea of her spending alone time with another male. No matter how close of friends they were. He was sure Kiba will feel the same way.

The blue eyed young man gave his guest some time to compose herself before she spoke to him.

“I always wanted to see the kind of place Naruto-kun lived- I also wanted to get to know you better.”

Hinata stared at him as she confidently spoke to him.

“Your place is nice and cozy Naruto-kun,” she smiled and continued, “I used to admire you from afar when we were younger; it was the main cause of my embarrassing speech problem when I would be around you-”

“I thought as much,” he said.

“You knew?!” she blushed, eyes wide with surprise.

“Well no. It took me a long time to guess but I’m still really flattered by it,” he chuckled, scratching the back of his head lightly.

“You were a person I saw so full of energy and hope. The underdog who strived to keep going reaching for excellence and acceptance from the people around you. Maybe there were times when you did feel like giving up, but you didn’t, you kept on going. I continue to admire that a lot in you. From that admiration, I suppose it turned into something more than that.”

It was the most honest thing he ever heard from someone’s mouth. He looked at Hinata as if she were an entirely different person sitting there next to him. The dark haired young woman suddenly found herself engulfed within the confines of Naruto’s strong and warm embraced.

She knew her face was the reddest it had been in a while. She closed her eyes, sighing in content to just enjoy the embraced he wrapped her in.

“Thank you, Hinata-chan,” he whispered into her ear hugging her tighter, “Thank you for being honest with me.”

“Y-you’re welcome Naruto-kun,” she softly replied.

Finally letting go of her, Naruto sat back up straight on the sofa he shared with Hinata, smiling at her. Her eyes fluttered opened from the loss of contact and she almost pouted.

She started to speak again, “Anyway I understand that I may never take the place of Sakura-san-”

He had a grim line on his face just then and Hinata could hear the seriousness in his tone. “I wouldn’t want you to otherwise I think things would be less friendly between the both of us, don’t you think so Hinata-chan?”

Her pupil-less eyes became a little glossed over, her eyelids lowered with something akin to sadness, “Maybe…but if I had done something-”

“You couldn’t do anything to stop what happened.”

“I saw it,” she whispered harshly. It was not directed at him, but cerulean eyes looked a bit more wide at her. She shook with anger, “I saw what she did to you Naruto!”

“If I hadn’t been so insecure back then I could have done anything to stop her! I could have saved you the pain of ever having to go through that!”

“You saw that?”

“Yes!” she confirmed; eyes glassy with unshed tears, “I didn’t mean to but I did.”

“I seen the mean-spirited way she treated you that day Naruto-kun, it was wrong!” it was her turn to wrap her lithe frame around Naruto. The tears were now shedding, sliding down her reddened cheeks and finding themselves falling onto Naruto’s shirt.

“You can’t blame yourself for what happened between me and Sakura. It’s not your fault Hinata.”

He felt her nod, “I know that but, I feel like it is, I could have said anything to stop that. I could have done something earlier before it got worse even if you never felt the same way as me. Everyone knew how much you cared deeply for Haruno-san…”

Naruto eased the dark haired woman from around him. He softly brushed her tears away with his fingers, “You’re a wonderful person Hinata.”

She smiled despite thinking her face looked horrendous from her turbulent cry fest.

“I really wish I could have returned those feelings but I can’t…”

Hinata’s smile broaden, “I understand, I just wanted you to know it may not change much but I wanted you to know. I wasn’t thinking you would hold any feelings for me,” her face looked a bit crestfallen.

“Don’t lie to me now Hinata-chan.”

Hinata looked at him bewildered. He stared at her with much seriousness. It was apparent that the young man before her didn’t take well to being lied too.

“Sorry, maybe a small part of me was hoping…I know that’s selfish of me, considering me dating Kiba.”

Naruto knew he couldn’t return them now, not necessarily because of Sakura, that had been some years ago. It was because he was involved with this thing he had going on with Tenten and Kin, as she pointed out, she was involved with Kiba for some time now and he didn’t know where his final thoughts were on considering Tenten.

Perhaps if she had come to him before he got himself into this mess as interesting as it was, maybe things could have worked out between them. If anyone knew better what a disaster cheating brought to those close to you, it was Naruto and from the sound of it, so did Hinata.

“It’s alright to want to be selfish sometimes Hinata,” he said after a silent pause between them.

“This isn’t one of those times…I should leave,” she averted her gaze from his. “Before I do something I regret later.”

“That seems like the best thing to do,” he agreed.

Before she got up from her seat, Hinata without a hint of hesitation brought her lips to Naruto.

For what seem like forever, Hinata nervously waited for Naruto to shove her away from him and berate her for her behavior, but he didn’t. In fact, he deepened the kiss a little bit more.

She felt her heartbeat quicken, his lips were so soft and warm and she again felt her body flush from the heat within. She knew she had to end this so she departed from his lips but not before kissing him again.

It was Naruto who put an end to it after the fifth time she kissed him. He gave her a wry smile, brushing her bangs out of her flushed face.

She whispered very low to him before she stood up, “Thank you for letting me be selfish just this once Naruto-kun.”

He just nodded, “It’ll be our little secret.”

Hinata smiled towards him and then made her way to the front door. Naruto followed after her.

As she walked onto the patio covered by the rooftop, Naruto’s voice stopped her, “Don’t feel guilty about it. It was just a small kiss Hinata-chan. I wouldn’t make you do something we would both regret.”

“It’s not that, I don’t want to hurt Kiba’s feelings either, I just…feel guilty about enjoying it…” she trailed off, her back to him.

“See ya around,” he said to her retreating back.

She turned around to face him then, “Thank you for inviting me in, it was…pleasant, I hope we can spend more time together…as friends!” She blustered, “I mean- well you know what I mean,” her face flushed for the umpteenth time that day.

“Yea, I know what you mean, don’t worry I’ll like that a lot.”

With that she finally walked away from his home until she was out of his sight. He closed the door with a soft click.

Naruto sighed in dismay. These women were going to be the death of him and some way. He was honest with Hinata, he did feel flattery at her sincere gesture to be equally honest with him for why she came. He did know that his regular visitors; Tenten and Kin were honest women with him as well. They both understood perfectly their reasons for why they seek him out.

Not to mention, he was sorting out feelings he was starting to develop for the bun wearing brunette. He needed to keep his defenses up, he didn’t need another let down and another scar on his spirit from getting caught up in a relationship he knew was deem to fail the minute it began. He also didn’t want to share the same sordid history he has with Tenten, he did really like her after all.

The honesty from Hyuuga Hinata was just more of a breath of fresh air for him. Mainly because she didn’t make him feel guilt about having to sleep with her behind his best pal’s back. He was sure the guilt would eat away at her soul if she had made a move to go further with him, not that he would have let her anyway.

Sure, he played along and did whatever the women wanted from him in order to make them the most comfortable, but Hinata had something he was sure the other girls didn’t. She was already involved with someone.

Hinata was as morally sound as they came, despite her body language telling him otherwise.

Or the innocent touch of lips between would suggest, it was the most sin they allowed themselves to commit together with silent looks of understanding to keep it between only the two of them.

Naruto had passed by a clock on his way upstairs and he smirked mischievous. In a few hours he’ll be expecting Tenten over soon. He bemusedly wondered what she would be into today.

He already forgot what it was he was heading out to get anyway.
