Gold Hair, Black Heart

Time had passed and it was time to head to chuunin exams, Naruto looking stronger than normal. He wore a tan shirt with the sleeves torn off and the front ripped open to make it into a vest. He sported black pants and typical ninja shoes. His blonde hair was longer than normal, spiking down to his shoulders. Dosu and Zaku seemed rather normal but were more toned along with Naruto. They all strode confidently into the room for the first portion, Naruto's eyes looking over all of the women in the room. His gaze caught hold of a rather shy looking one that looked back into his for only a second before she blushed and hid. He smirked and thought about adding her to his growing collection when all of the exams were done.
His eyes also brushed upon a rather snottish blonde. He didn't like how she seemed to be reacting to a pink haired one but the body was enough to make him want to add her to the collection. He did see a rather strong male take the pink haired female away from the blonde and seem to comfort her. He smirked more and saw it as a challenge than her already being claimed. He noted that amongst those girls, the blonde might be the easiest target. He sat down where he needed to, next to the shy one. He leaned over to the shy girl beside him and spoke smoothly to her, "Hello, I am Naruto."
The girl blushed and said, "H-hello. Naruto. I am Hinata."
"You have beautiful eyes," Naruto said, smiling to her.
She blushed a bright shade of red and seemed about to pass out but he held her upright. Something was very different to him about this girl, not just her eyes. He smiled at her as she straightened herself up before releasing her to support herself. He quickly scanned over for any other girls in the room, spotting a brunette, not as appealing as the others to him but he would still try. He also spotted a blonde not from the leaf, him thinking about her with her hair down caused him to want to try for her but not immidiately.
He watched the teacher saunter in and begin explaining the test. He caught the part about cheating and got it immidiatly. As soon as the test began, he shifted his eyes only slightly to get answers out of his peripherals. He made sure to check the people at the sides to try and figure out where they were looking and when. He started hearing a light vibration that had a pattern. Dosu was giving answers through a patern of sound like morse code. Short, long, long, long, long, short, long, short, long, short, long. First question. Short, Long. So A was the answer. Easy enough to follow the rater silent sounds. It proceeded to sound each time he figured out an answer and was sure it was correct. He watched as a majority of the class got weeded out. This only meant it would get harder to cheat. Luckily, they all made it into waiting for that last question. Naruto placed his head into folded arms in front of him, mostly to make it look like he was covering his answers while he was waiting.
Hinata seemed to have mimiced his movement, doing the same maybe out of admiration but Naruto didn't know. He only knew that she had just mimiced him. He would flash her a smile and she would smile back shyly. When the time came that it seemed the teacher was about to tell them the final question, Naruto took a quick look around. A lot of people had left. He heard the words that they all had passed by waiting there. He smiled and watched as a seemingly excitable woman barged in to take them to the next portion.
Naruto stood up and cracked his back, joining Dosu and Zaku as they headed to follow the crazily energetic woman. Hinata rejoined her team and followed right behind his. Each team then seperated to their gates around the forest of death. Naruto looked to Dosu and Zaku, them both nodding to him that they were ready. He smirked and tightened his Sound Villiage headband for the possible upcoming action. When the gates opened, the three took off into it swiftly, Dosu holding their scroll. Naruto had an odd feeling and suddenly veered to the right, the other two following in stride as they stayed up high in the trees. Naruto stopped near a clearing and saw the pink-haired girl with her boy in tow. There was another male following them but he did not look like a threat at all.
Naruto leapt ahead and hopped down in front of them. Dosu and Zaku did not follow, instead positioning above the team in case Naruto saw it fit to strike. Naruto walked forward towards the female and smiled, "Hey. I am Naruto."
"You are an enemy in here! We shouldn't be sharing names! Give us your earth scroll!" She yelled at him.
"Oh too bad," Naruto laughed, "We have a heaven scroll too. So please, tell me your name."
She hesitated but as she was about to speak, the strong male stepped in front of her, "You leave her be and get out of our way or we will show no mercy and kill you. Let's go Sakura!"
He tugged her off around Naruto, Naruto only laughing a bit as he turned to watch. He then felt something beating on hit back rather weakly. He turned back around to find their weaker male was punching him in the chest repeatedly. He slowly lifted his arm up in warning but the weak little punk kept punching him. Naruto jabbed the kid in the chest then picked up the scrawny male and tossed him ahead to his teammates. Naruto let out a chuckle because he heard the kid crunch a bit on his landing. He then leapt up into the trees and zoomed towards the middle with his group, right over top of Sakura's group.
As they zipped through the forest, he saw a group of random nin sitting down and obviously relaxing. He pointed for Dosu to go right and for Zaku to go left. They did as commanded and Naruto took out an odd looking piece of metal and a whistle. He placed the odd shaped one to his ear and then put the whistle in his mouth. He was careful to breath in and out of his nose as he heard through the metal in his ear Dosu whistling in Morse code to them. They had an Earth scroll and it was high time to take them out. Naruto whistled back for them to stay in position and that he will confront the enemy, they may only step in if he needs assistance. He heard the confirmation that they both understood and he placed the peices back into a pouch inside his outfit.
He leapt down in front of the odd all boy team. They seemed to be from a villiage he didn't know too well. They stood up and immidiately attacked at Naruto from the ground. Naruto laughed and ducked as the one coming straight forward left the ground a bit and ended up flying right over Naruto. While he was down, he tucked his hands in to pull out two kunai for the two coming to the sides. He jabbed out at them both, the tips landing at the two warrior's pelvis bones then slicing up through their muscle so as the bodies came down onto Naruto, their intestines began to string out and their stomaches fell onto his head. He smiled as the blood covered him red and his inner chakra merged out a bit.
Dosu and Zaku watched on as Naruto turned to the one that had flown over him, the bodies of the male's dead teamates almost strung onto Naruto and dragging until he cut the bodies loose of him. He placed the kunai away as he got right up onto the terrified fleeing male. Naruto went down and swiftly jabbed his fingers under the ribs and pulled his hand up to wrap his fingers around the split between the two lungs. The terrified male cried out in pain as Naruto felt the delicate tubes and gently pinched them to choke the male a little bit, feeling the lungs expanding helplessly for air and his heart racing against his wrist.
He took the scroll and tossed it up at Dosu, hearing someone coming through the bushes as the male was still screaming on his arm. He saw Sakura come through with her group. Sakura's eyes widened and said, "Sasuke! Look what he did!"
Sasuke looked at Naruto with a glare, Naruto just giving a damning smile back as he said, "Well now, about time you slow pokes caught up. I wouldn't like you to miss the finale."
Sakura moved up to slap him but he caught her arm with his free hand. He gently pinched the male's tubes so she could watch the student die. Sasuke ran at Naruto and launched a kick at his head yelling, "Get your rotten mitts off my girl!"
Naruto took the kick to his head, amazed that it was hard enough to feel vessels break under the skin. He laughed and released Sakura's arm before using a nail to poke a hole right into the still struggleing male's tube to allow blood to flow in. Naruto then removed his arm and watched the boy flail and drown in his own blood.
Sakura turned to Sasuke, him holding her to his chest as she cried. Naruto leapt back into the trees, taking off forward towards the center again. He brushed against leaves on their way to clean the blood off. They would arrive within a day in the center, entering where they needed to and then opening the scrolls. Orochimaru came out of them and he smiled, "Congratulations, you made it."
Naruto smiled and said, "Hey father, how you been?"
Orochimaru patted his head and said, "Not important. Right now, you need to go relax and wait. I saw what you did in the forest, son. Were you trying to show off for that girl?"
Naruto's cheeks turned bright red and said, "Well, no! I was just trying to show her that there are men far stronger than the one she hangs with and that I could easily take her."
"That is showing off," Orochimaru spoke with a light laugh in his voice, "I also got word you were eyeing up others."
Naruto shook his head and said, "Father, you are embarassing me in front of our people!"
Dosu and Zaku made sure to not react. If they even tried to laugh, Naruto would have their heads. Orochimaru, though, laughed at him and said, "Son, it is alright. They are loyal enough not to embarass you further but as your father it is my job to embarass you."
Naruto walked into the waiting area in a huff, sitting down in the main room and hoping the other teams would make it before the three days were up. Dosu and Zaku went to go get food and water then came to relax with him, offering him the food first. Naruto didn't take it. Zaku looked at him then went to go to a corner. Dosu took the chance and said, "Young Lord Naruto, what is wrong?"
Naruto looked over at Dosu then away again, "I have that one girl in my mind."
"The pink-haired one?"
"No," Naruto was quick to respond but not in the way of denial. "That one girl I sat beside in the first exam. Something was different about her."
Dosu said, "It sounds like you like her."
Naruto thought about it and then finally took a deep breath as he sat up. He then took some little bits of the food Dosu offered and ate with him.
