Chapter Six
Disclaimer: Naruto and related characters are not mine.
Authors Note: Alrighty, here is Chapter Six. Let me see if I can get it rolling again to some more interesting plot things going on.
_______________
The Uchiha had woken up Naruto as early as possible to start the trek back to the village. Naruto was unusually quiet as they walked along through the underbrush. It was actually creeping Sasuke out. Had he said something and given away his plan? It was starting to annoy him actually.
"Why are you so quiet?" He asked finally. Getting aggitated. Funny how one could not win when it came to the raven haired boy. If Naruto was to loud he got annoyed and if Naruto was too quiet he was creeped out.
"Morning...early...ramen...blah," Naruto replied, sounding a lot like a zombie. Sasuke raised an eyebrow. Alright so he had looked to deeply into the sitation. He sighed. He wondered how Naruto was going to deal with Sasukes decision to ignore the blonde. It had taken a lot of mental arguements to finally convice himself to go through with it and that it really was for the better of Naruto. After what seemed like hours more of walking in that errie silence the village came into veiw, and the smell of fresh cooking ramen wafted towards them through the Gates of Konoha.
"RAMEN!" Naruto was magically revived. Before the raven haired boy could protest he was being dragged back into the village by a speeding Naruto. He was forced to run to keep up as Naruto had an amazing grip on his wrist. It probably looked rather comical. The blonde tearing through the streets, dragging a stumbling Uchiha behind. Sasuke breathed a sigh of releif when finally Naruto stopped running. He found himself stuck in a chair at a ramen bar and blinked in confusion as Naruto climbed up onto the one next to him. "I'm treating us both to RAMEN! So order up!" Naruto explained cheerfully. It had been so long since he had tasted those delicious noodles.
"I don't want any dobe," Sasuke replied cooly. His sort of slight kindness toward Naruto from before had disappeared from his voice. The blonde froze. He recongnized that old tone. It had actually been a while since he had heard it now. He looked over at Sasuke, confused. He had not done anything wrong. And it had been a long time since he had heard that name.
"Are you feeling okay?" Naruto was suddenly so close to Sasuke that the raven haired boy could feel his breath on his face as Naruto started feeling his forehead for a tempurature. Naruto leaned foreward like he was going kiss Sasukes forehead but Sasuke stepped backwards off the chair and watched as Naruto tumbled face first into the ground impassively. Naruto was shocked. "Sasuke?" He could see that coldness in the Uchiha's eyes. What had happened to how it had been back in the forest. Naruto frowned.
"Of course I'm alright. Just get lost dobe," Sasuke snapped again. His voice cold. He really meant it.
"But...S...Sasuke?" Naruto was really confused now.
Sasuke glared, it was like being shot with iceicles and Naruto felt the urge to punch the raven haired boy in the face. "What the hell? I thought...?"
"You thought wrong moron! I don't like boys!" Sasuke snapped back angrilly. This was harder then he had expected it to be. Naruto wavered a moment at that comment. He knew it was a lie. He was not stupid. He saw what was going on. Sasuke was in denial all the sudden because he was afraid that his reputation would be ruined if their attraction for each other ever got out. He openned his mouth to make a witty comment, something to make himself feel better because Sasukes denial hurt but he did not have too.
"SASUKE - KUN!" The voices of several squealing girls reached the pairs ears. Sasuke stiffened and looked suddenly like a deer caught in head lights. He was glomped from behind by none other then Ino! "I missed you so much Sasuke kun!" She squealed excitedly into his ear. Happy that she was the first person there. She glared possessively at any of the other members of the Sasuke fan club that strayed too close. Sasuke gave Naruto a pleading look that begged for help. Naruto turned up his nose and walked away.
Sasuke felt his stomach to a lurch, it was guilt. Naruto knew what he was doing. He realize that he was being ignored and he was not happy at all. He also knew that Sasuke was too full of pride to yell for help and apologize. He left Sasuke with those crazy women. Left him to fend for himself against their clawing hands and irritating voices.
"Oy, Naruto," the voice of none other then Kakashi reached his ears. He looked up to see a frown on the silver haired Jounins face.
"What?" Naruto asked, feigning happyness in the presance of Kakashi.
"Where is Sasuke? You two can get along now, eh?" Kakashi sounded unconvinced and his eyes glittered milaciously. Like an unspoken threat of what was to come if they had come back without completely their 'mission'. The mention of Sasuke made Naruto sniffle. He whipped his nose and looked momentaril torn but suddenly have Kakashi an enthusiastic thimbs up.
"Course we can sensei!" He exclaimed and started laughing and walking away. Kakashi raised an eye brow as he watched Naruto walk past him to his own house, which had been sitting dorment. Naruto pulled out his keys and unlocked the door. Walked in and slammed it shut behind him. "Stupid Sasuke," Naruto grumbled angrilly as he walked in the door. After all that had happened he was turning his back on him so hastily. Why? Naruto did not understand. Then again, Sasuke had never said he loved him. Could it have all be a game to Sasuke. No...Sasuke was not like that. Was he?
Naruto heated up a kettle and poured it into a ramen cup. He wished that Sasuke wouldn't be so stupid. He began to eat the ramen even though it was not completely ready. Brooding over Sasuke. He was pissed off. Naruto began to plot.

Sasuke had finally extracted himself from the crazy women and escaped to his house. Sighing in releif as he leaned against the door. What would they ever do if they found out that he was gay? No! He was NOT gay. Not gay at all, he was completely straight and had no crush on Naruto.
Naruto...
Sasuke shook his head firmly. No, he did not care. He was not guilty. Naruto would be fine. He always was. No matter what people did to him. Surely Naruto would understand he was doing this to protect them both not to be mean. There was a knock at the door.
"GO AWAY!" Sasuke yelled before he ever thought to stay quiet and hope that they would think he was not home and go away. He cursed himself for his stupidity and distraction.
"But Sasuke...it's me. Sakura," the pink haired girls voice called through the door.
"Well go away," Sasuke snapped, his voice muffled through the wooden door.
"I just wanted to see how your training went. And I braught you some food," Sakura replied hopefully. Sasuke scowled. She was the only one of all his fangirls that actually never gave up. He openned the door reluctantly. He was not in the mood to argue with her.
"It went fine. Me and Naruto don't argue anymore. Happy?" He snapped. Sakura frowned. She could see changed in the raven haired boy. But she did not say anything. She held out the food for him but Sasuke refused it adamantly. Which had been expected but she did not really care. It had been a nice gesture for her sake anyways.
"Just checking in..." Sakura had started to say more but instead got the door slammed in her face. Sakura frowned suddenly. Getting angry. "Fine! Be an ass hole!" She yelled at the door in one of her momentary slips of inner Sakura. She stormed off.
Sasuke had not even heard her anyways. He had walked right up to his room and collapsed on the bed. He could not shed this feeling of guilt for what he had done to the blonde boy. He really did love Naruto. But no one would accept their love. No one. It was wrong. boys don't love boys, the love girls.
Knock, knock. Danm it! What was it with people and disturbing his mopping? He ignored it.
Knock Knock. Again he did not acknowledge the knocking, he just buried his face in his pillow stubbornly.
"Sasuke?" It was Kakashi. Angry, Sasuke pushed himself off the bed and stalked over to the door. He swung it upon and looked at Kakashi. Did not even ask what he wanted. Kakashi would explain on his own eventually.
"Welcome back," the silver haired jounin said cheerfully. Sasuke scowled.
"That's not why you came here," he stated planly.
"No, it isn't. I came here to let you know that regular missions are starting again tommorow so meet early in our regular place," Kakashi replied in his irritatingly cheerful voice. Then was gone. Sasuke slammed the door. Great! So now they would be doing missions the next day and he and Naruto were ignoreing each other. At least he assumed Naruto was ignoring him now since he had made no effort in retorting after the incident at the Ramen Bar. Not that he cared. Because he did not care. He cared nothing for Naruto at all. Nothing. Sasuke returned to gloomy moping.
***
After a couple attempts at plotting to do evil things to Sasuke, Naruto actually gave up. Because he did not actually WANT to do evil things to Sasuke. He wanted it to be like back in the forest. Why could people never like him? Ever? Was he really that crappy of a person? That annoying? And to think they had missions the next day! This would not go off well. Naruto eventually went back outside. He started following Sakura around. It was what he had always done to cover up for his crush on Sasuke.
Chasing after the pink haired girl, since she was always chasing after Sasuke it made an interesting excuse to be around the attractive, raven haired Uchiha.
It did not take long before Sakura spotted him. Naruto grinned when he saw her puff out in aggitation. "NARUTO! GO AWAY!" She yelled as Naruto jumped out of the shadows and scared her pitifully for about the third time that day. Somehow Naruto found her rejection hurt more then normal. He blaimed it on Sasuke. Stupid Sasuke.
"Naruto?" Sakura called after several moments of silence when Naruto seemed suddenly to droop sadly. It was not something that was normal for the blonde. Now that she actually looked, he seemed to be off, a little out of joint. Like his mood had been very badly poked at and it really did not suit him. His jumped and looked up to her with his big blue eyes. Which looked sad.
"Nani?" Naruto asked innocently. Unsure of why she seemed suddenly concerned.
"Are you alright?" She asked.
"Fine!"
"Oh...anyways I am going to train. I was gonna see if Sasuke -" Sakura paused. When she mentioned Sasukes name she saw Naruto's bottom lip tremble slightly. She frowned.
"What's wrong?"
"STUPID SASUKE!" Naruto yelled. It felt good to get it out like that. It was not good to old everything in. And it was just like Naruto to make a racket.
"What are you talking about? I thought you too got along now right?" Sakura asked in confusion.
"We did. But the bastard is too busy worrying about his stupid, damned reputation to remember that we're together," Naruto snapped. He did not realize how badly he had slipped until he saw the look of shock on Sakura's face. Crap.

A little bit of a jumpy chapter but we are drawing near the conclusion of things now. A chapter or so more and I should be finished this. I hope it is still turning out as good as the first 4 chapters.
Naruto's bad, now Sakura knows his little secret. Can't wait to see how she reacts to that one eh?
