Racing The Clock
Raven drops to his knees as exhaustion threatens to claim him. Suddenly the icy fist of fear closes around his heart. ‘Hinata.’

Calling upon reserves ,that until that moment didn’t even exist, Raven links his mind to the shadows as he franticly searches for the members of his team. Sapphire and Jade are in the process of finishing off the remaining bandits and appear to be in no danger. Continueing his search his eyes widen in horror as the fist around his heart tightens its icy grip. Seals are swiftly performed as he fades into the darkness of the night.

Kiba watches helplessly as the Mist -nin they were fighting holds Hinata captive in his “Water Prison Jutsu”.
Two of the man’s “Water Clones” stand triumphantly over a fallen Shino as four more approach him and Akamaru. Barely able to stand due to loss of blood caused by the wounds in his thigh and back Kiba prepares for his death to protect his uncurious nin-dog. ’At least we all will die together, it‘s been a blast guys and I‘ll see you all on the other side.’
Cold water splashes across his face as the four clones disappear right before his eyes. Looking around quickly a huge grin of satisfaction covers his face as he sees their leader standing on the banks of the lake staring daggers at the missin-nin holding the Hyuga princess hostage.
“Well, well looks like another brat has come to die,” the man says as he summons three more clones. “Let’s see if you fair better then that last batch of children that thought to oppose me.”
Raven remains silent as his eyes gaze up at the night sky. ‘Just enough chakra for one more attack. No time to deal with the fakes, have to finish the real one with this next move.’ He looks back at Hinata and grimaces as he pale skin begins to turn a sickly bluish gray. ‘Hypothermia’s setting in, I’ve got to make this fast.’
The clouds block the moon momentarily plunging the area around the lake into near total darkness. As the cloud passes the “Water Clones” fall apart with a loud splash. Kiba watches in awe as the “Water Prison” also falls apart releasing Hinata into Raven’s waiting arms. His eyes catch the faint flicker of dark metal sticking out of the base of the deceased shinobi’s skull before the man sinks below the surface of the water.
Raven quickly carries Hinata’s unconscious body to the shore before the last of his chakra gives out. Gently setting her down he looks up in time to see Jade and Sapphire run into the clearing. He removes his cloak and spreads the flaps out before wrapping it around Hinata in an attempt to warm her up. He doesn’t even look at the others as he begins issuing orders.
“Jade, take Shino to the Konoha’s hospital. Sapphire, take Kiba and Akamaru. Once they’re safe report what happened to Tsunade-sama and tell her that under no circumstances is anyone to come looking for us, I’ll take Hinata back when she’s well enough to travel.”
Kiba prepares to argue with him but a stern glare from the twin kunoichi stops his words from leaving his mouth. Each of the girls takes a solider pill before moving towards their charge, or in Sapphire’s case charges. After Sapphire and the others leave Jade looks at Raven with concern. “Please be careful,” she says before kneeling beside Shino and taking him back with her.
Raven pops his own solider pill before gently and carefully picking Hinata up and carrying her back to their campsite. When they arrive he’s grateful that the fighting had moved away before any blood had actually been spilt. He was also pleased to find that both Jade and Sapphire had left their cloaks behind as he leaned Hinata against a tree and set about rebuilding the fire.
With the fire steadily burning he sets about the task of organizing the two cloaks into a makeshift bed for them near the fire. Once the bed is made he walks over and begins removing Hinata’s wet clothes. The task is difficult as he tries his best not to wake the thankfully sleeping kunoichi. Once she’s been fully stripped he lays her down on the bed and places his cloak over like a blanket before removing his own clothes. He only strips down as far as his underwear, kind of relieved he had chosen to wear regular boxers instead of his normal boxer-briefs.
He climbs under the covers beside her and pulls her tightly against his bare chest as his hands steadily rub her arms trying to get the blood flowing normally. “Everything will be okay Hinata-chan, I promise,” he whispers in her ear. Sleep threatens to claim him as he links his mind to the shadows again to keep watch over them before slipping into the half-sleep stasis he’s grown accustom to when not inside the walls of Konoha.

A/N: Part two of the original Botched Mission chapter is now finished. Part three is mostly just the wrap-up but still worth reading once it's posted. (IMHO)
Before you start slamming me, I know I kind of "BORROWED" Zabuza's Water Clone and Water Prison Jutsus. In my defence though I always saw then as Jounin Level Jutsus from the Hidden Mist and not as his personal Justsus. So seeing as how the guys was a missin-nin from the Mist it seemed fair that they should have know them.
And in case your minds aren't already in the gutter, please keep them out. This is a General Story and no a Hentai. (Those will come later, I promise.) Removing wet clothing and using bare skin is actually the proper way to treat Hypothermia if no medical faciluties and personel are available.
