A Ruse
AN: Hey all!! I hope you are all ready for this chapter! Things are starting to happen and its getting fun...Yaaaay!! Enjoy!!
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Sasuke slid the katana into its holder. His mind was still furiously working, the way he had attacked at least was exactly how Naruto, but why the ruse? And why was he traveling towards Suna under such a disguise??
“You’re story.” Sasuke prompted as they started moving. Seiko smirked widely and whirled the staff lightly in his hands,
“Impatient one aren’t you!” He responded with a short laugh. Sasuke’s glare deepened his jaw clenching. Seiko’s smirk faded a bit and he shook his head.
“Alright, keep you’re panties on Uchiha. You goin’ to answer me if I ask who you’re after?” Sasuke watched him. There were so many attributes that were just like Naruto but there were others that the Naruto Sasuke knew rarely showed. Patience, calmness, and a true happiness for life were just a few. Sasuke wasn’t blind to the fear and sadness Naruto had growing up.
“I’m just looking for someone. End of story.” Sasuke finally answered. Seiko cocked his head to the side as they walked, stepping over a protruding root that his staff had bumped.
“Looking for someone, then why have you been hanging around me? Not a very good ninja are you.” Seiko let a cheeky smile light up his face. Lightly touching his katana Sasuke briefly considered just forcibly getting the information from Seiko. He knew something, Sasuke was sure of this. Playing dumb and throwing around cheeky insults was not getting him anywhere near Naruto.
“I’m sure whoever you’re looking for is important.” Came Seiko’s voice, an apologetic tilt to it. Sasuke stared through the trees,
“Yes…he is.” Sasuke finally said after a momentary pause. It confused him. Yes he had willingly gone after Naruto when Tsunade had requested it of him, and yet the thought of someone else going after him made an anger to course through his system. Had he unwilling grown that close to Naruto. Those days when the blond came to visit with food or on his guard duty forced him—His hand shot up catching the staff before it could even near his face.
“Stop thinking for once.” Seiko said whirling the weapon from Sasuke’s grasp. The raven’s face hardened, he didn’t like getting caught in the few moments he let his guard slip just slightly.
“Now…shall I start?” Seiko asked smirking. Sasuke only nodded once; obviously he wasn’t going to let his guard done again. Seiko watched him out of the corner of his eye, the smirk softening to a smile,
“A long, long, loooong time ago…” He caught the glare Sasuke shot at him and laughed openly,
“Alright. Well as you know I was born blind, in a small village south of Konoha. An only child. I was dotted upon by my mother because of this; she thought I needed the help.” Seiko’s smile faded a bit as he talked, “When I was younger I never though I would be able to do anything. I was blind, what could a blind person do. My father who was diplomat started teaching me what I could do. Feeling things through the ground, the way I can use my hearing and my nose. And how to feel chakra. He once wanted to send me to Konoha, for training….” Seiko trailed off, and Sasuke glanced at him, the mans mouth was in small frown.
“And?” Sasuke prompted; obviously this had never happened because they would have grown up together. If this story at all held an ounce of truth.
“Well as they say, good things never last.” Seiko responded with a short little laugh, “Our village was raided, nins traveling through Leafs border. All I know is that before I could try and help, my father had locked me in a safety room under our floorboards. My mother had been on her way to get groceries. All I heard was screaming. For hours. And I knew that no one had been left alive in our village. I was alone.” Sasuke heard the bitterness laced in the words, and the story seemed so close to his own. He waited patiently for Seiko to continue.
“I managed to get out of the secret space after waiting a day. I knew there wasn’t anyone alive, I would be able to feel them. I only found my mother’s body, but the smell of blood and carnage was everywhere.” Seiko paused once more,
“What happened after that?” Sasuke asked his voice low. Seiko glanced at him,
“Suddenly interested in my past?” He said rather lightly.
“It’s similar to my own.” Replied the Uchiha heir. Seiko shrugged before smiling,
“I ended up taking what I had been taught by my father, expanding it. I knew if I didn’t learn how to survive on my own, I wouldn’t survive at all. I probably would have been killed by the next band of rogue nins who crossed my path.”
“So you lived and trained on your own?” Sasuke was trying to catch the lies. The story, tragic as it was, Sasuke didn’t know how much of it was true, and such an elaboration. For what though. He needed that to be answered.
“That’s what I told you. I’ve never felt so alone.” Sasuke’s eyes widened a fraction. I’ve never felt so alone. That phrase. Naruto had told him that.
Red eyes glared across the room. His chakra was sealed, and he was locked, for who knows how long, in a wretched dark room. He hadn’t killed his brother. He had not avenged his family for Itachi’s sin. And somehow, Naruto. The idiot who had grown into a formidable ninja had managed to find him and drag him back. Sasuke hated him. Loathed him. The dark room was suddenly awash with light, the door opening to the bright hallway. Sasuke’s black eyes snapped to it narrowing it as he saw who was there.
“Get. Out.” He hissed. Naruto was the last person he wanted to see.
“I don’t think the Hokage will like that I left my charge to his own devices.” Naruto replied, a slight smile on his face. Sasuke’s clenched his jaw and crossed his arms his look flat. Naruto watched him before shaking his head once and closing the door once more the room dimming considerably.
“Keep festering in your own angst Sasuke and you’ll definitely never get anything done” Naruto started yanking a chair from the wall and twisting backwards his arms draped over the back. Sasuke stiffened at the words,
“You have no idea what I’ve been through. I got stronger for the sole reason to avenge my family” If Sasuke could have, his sharingan would have come to life. The blue eyes hardened instantly,
“You’ve stuck with that same saga for fifteen years now Sasuke. We all have our sob stories.” Naruto hissed, “Move on” Sasuke’s eyes snapped to his, the surprise that had pulled across his face faded instantly. No one had spoken to him like that. Ever.
“Have you moved on Naruto?” He snapped out coldly. The reaction he got from the blond was quite different from what he had expected. He laughed. But it was a bitter sound, so unlike others laughs Sasuke had remembered from years past.
“Always the genies Sasuke, but you still haven’t realized this?” Naruto asked, looking very serious now, “I moved on the moment I let people in. But then you came along.” Blue eyes pinned his own, Sasuke knew looking away would mean a weakness. He was not weak. Narrowing his eyes he didn’t let the words surprise him.
“You came along. And I had a rival…a friend. Someone I could count on to have my back, and I would have yours. And then you left. For revenge. To get stronger. In all my life, I have never felt so alone.”
“Sasuke?”
The raven hadn’t realized he had stopped moving, his thoughts had swirled through his mind and the memories had resurfaced. Seiko seemed to be giving him a rather concerned look, if his eyes could be seen, but the mouth was in a worried line.
“I apologize. You’re words brought along a nostalgic memory.” He stated stiffly, stepping forward. A hand grabbed his wrist, Sasuke glanced at him, the movement seemed like Seiko had fought to do it.
“How much does he mean to you?” Came the quiet question. The breeze shifted around them, Sasuke’s unguarded eyes shot open, and his senses flaring to life.
“We’re being tracked.” He muttered under his breath, twisting the grip around and tugging the blind man up into the trees. Their followers were still at such a distance.
“Follow me.” Seiko responded hastily and both barely rustled the leaf as they sped through the trees. It was at that moment Sasuke realized something else, the chakra signals that he had found the day before had faded quite a bit. Whoever picked up there trail were not at all close enough to worry Sasuke, but Seiko had taken the chance and was moving rapidly. The blind man was in a rush. Sasuke narrowed his eyes in concentration. They were running out of time.

Red and black eyes trailed the surrounding country. His partner stood at his right shifting a bit restlessly.
“Rumors are spreading. The Jinchuuriki has supposedly left the village.” Came the rough voice, a wide sadistic smile that exposed the sharp shark like teeth pulled across his mouth. The eyes scanned through the trees, the breeze brushing over his face and over the black and red cloaks.
“That is no rumor.” His voice was a soft, “There will be no need for us to go through the Village. He will walk right into our hands.” A laugh sounded from his partner, he shifted the large wrapped weapon on his back.
“Lets go.” Itachi ordered and they both disappeared into the wind.
________________________________________________________________________
He had been moving all day. Covered in sweat and grime, his pushed himself. He had no time to rest, and his internee was restless. It rumbled deep threats of murder and carnage through his brain. Puffing lightly, the auburn haired man landed on a branch lightly, his jade eyes gazing the forest around him. Scents on the wind carried those who were sent after Sasuke and himself.
“Too many” Naruto gritted. Too many lives at stake. He had to keep moving. He was siphoning the chakra that traveled in the opposite direction of him. Soon, it would be gone by that time, it would be too late.
Let me out. I will draw the blood of our enemies Came the dripping voice echoing through his conscience.
Naruto snarled lightly to himself one hand running up through hair. Too close to the surface. It was the only way though. If they wanted him, then they could have him. When they did get him, Naruto raised his head a small smirk pull across his mouth, they would pay the ultimate price.
