Parent Trap - Chapter 9

“Are you kids doing alright?” Naruto asked, popping his head into Ayame’s room to find her and the two Uchiha boys coloring.
“Yes, Tou-san!” Ayame chimed happily. “Touya is trying to teach me to color in the lines!” She turned her head to smile brightly at Naruto.
“That’s great, Ayame. I’m just going to hop in the shower really quickly, so don’t answer the phone or open the door, you hear me?”
“Yes!” Ayame said enthusiastically, though, from the way she was staring intently at her picture, Naruto was sure she didn’t even hear what he’d said. But Touya had nodded in answer, too, so he felt he could count on the levelheaded Uchiha.
“And when I get out, I’ll finish dinner. Would you boys like to join us?”
“Yeah, Naruto-sensei!” Kei chimed up.
“We would have to ask Otou-sama for permission, Naruto-sensei. And Kakashi will be here in a little while,” Touya added over his brother’s blabber of what he’d like for dinner.
“You leave your father and Kakashi-san to me.” Naruto winked at the small Uchiha and left the doorway, walking down the hall to his master bedroom and the gloriously warm shower that awaited him.
He moved to the bathroom and turned on the water, waiting for it to be the right temperature before moving back into his room and stripping from his slacks and button down shirt. He kept his boxers on until he was back in his bathroom.
A small plume of steam was coming from the shower, and as soon as his boxers hit the floor, Naruto pulled back the curtain and stepped inside. The hot water on his skin was heavenly, and Naruto just leaned his forearms against the wall and let himself get hit by the spray to ease his aches and pains that the day had brought on.
If June had been there, she’d have massaged away his aches and pains, which might have led to a bit of this and that, if they’d still been a couple. But they weren’t, and she wasn’t, so he was left to his own devices.
Devices which instinctually switched an image of June massaging him to an image of Uchiha Sasuke massaging him, leading to a bit of this and that. And what an image it was, though it quickly lost its place to a reality Naruto had experienced years ago, in college, when he’d spotted the most gorgeous man he’d ever seen in his life across a crowded dance floor.
He hadn’t experimented much into guys, even knowing he was attracted to both sexes at the time, but spikes of lust had immediately pierced his body when he’d seen Sasuke sitting languidly at the bar, while at the same time giving off a very tense vibe that let anyone looking for a good time know that they weren’t going to get it from the dark-haired man.
And yet, when those dark eyes had finally noticed Naruto, who’d been staring for quite some time, there had been a spark of interest and surprise that had given Naruto the confidence to waltz up to the Uchiha and ask for a dance.
The dance had progressed into grinding, his long, hard body pressing intimately and forcefully into Sasuke’s backside, reveling each time his hardened cock slid tantalizingly up between Sasuke’s ass cheeks as the slim man in his arms pushed back into him just as earnestly.
Naruto’s lips had then latched onto a bit of skin at Sasuke’s neck, getting a mix of sweat and cologne on his tongue that somehow spiked his arousal higher. He’d begun to grind into Sasuke harder, his hands he’d never been conscious of moving gripping the Uchiha’s hips so tightly, bringing his ass harshly into his erection, building the pleasure until it was almost like they were fucking right on the dance floor.
Naruto moaned under the spray of water, his memories triggering that lust he’d felt so many years ago. His cock swelled between his legs, and he dropped his right hand down and curled it around the base, slowly stroking upward with a tightened fist, shivering as the pleasure spread up his spine like his hand on his cock.
Naruto was no stranger to dates with his right hand, especially with the dry spell after his break up with Gaara, but this felt so different. He couldn’t tell if it was because he’d been too busy with the move and everything to fully enjoy his ‘quality time,’ or if it was because he was thoroughly remembering how Sasuke had spun in his arms and kissed him, sucking his tongue into his hot mouth as the Uchiha dragged him off the dance floor and to somewhere a little more private, or at least a bit more concealing than the closely packed floor with the illuminating lights.
And then there had been the front-to-front grinding as they’d bit, licked, and sucked each other’s mouth. And then Naruto had pulled away and moved down, showering Sasuke’s neck and chest with kisses, licks, bites, you name it, until he was face to face with the very prominent bulge in a pair of black, sinfully tight leather pants that had easily peeled away from the pale man’s body.
Naruto’s hand sped faster along his cock, his eyes tightly closed as he remembered preparing Sasuke’s body, thrusting his fingers in and out quickly before replacing them with his dick and swallowing Sasuke’s pleasured screams as he’d rammed into him mercilessly, over and over until they both reached a quick and glorious end.
Just remembering the feeling of Sasuke’s ass squeezing his cock had Naruto falling over the edge, biting his lip to keep from screaming his release and disturbing the kids down the hall. His cum coated his hand and the tiled wall, and he slumped into his left arm, still braced against the wall, to catch his breath.
Pushing himself up, Naruto rinsed off his hand and the wall before reaching for his shampoo that doubled as body soap and beginning to clean himself. His lips pulled into a frown as he remembered the rest of that night.
No names or phone numbers had been traded, and Naruto had left the club with Sakura that night completely sated and slightly unsatisfied. It had taken him a few years to realize that just that one time with Sasuke had nearly ruined him for any other relationship.
June had been wonderful and just what he’d needed after the woman from hell that was Ayame’s mother, and Gaara had given him the pleasure that he craved, but neither had made him feel even remotely close to what he’d felt holding Sasuke.
Naruto had almost begun to believe that he had missed his soulmate. Almost; he wasn’t that naïve.
And then he’d run into Sasuke again, so many years later.
He’d told Sasuke that it must be fate the other night at the restaurant, and he wanted to believe it. Neither one of them was attached, Naruto was sure from what Ayame had told him. But then there was that; they both had children. Children were a very tricky obstacle in mid-life relationships.
But Naruto was sure willing to try, if only to regain a moment of rightness he felt in that darkened club. If only Sasuke would go along with it.
Grunting at the lovesick turn of his thoughts, Naruto shut off the water and exited the tub, grabbing one towel and securing it around his hips before grabbing another and rubbing vigorously at his hair. Throwing that one at the hamper, knowing very well it wouldn’t land in the hamper, Naruto walked over to his sink and wiped the fog from his mirror.
Just as he reached for his hairbrush to at least try and tame the unruly mop that was his hair, the doorbell rang.
“Ayame!” he yelled through his open bathroom and bedroom doors. “Get the door!”
“You told me not to!” she yelled back.
“And now I’m telling you to get it!”
“But what if it’s a raper or a ped, ped, pedopile, and I’m too young to do anything about it!”
“It’s rapist and pedophile, and where did you learn those words?” he yelled at her as he grabbed a robe and shrugged it on.
“Sakura-chan said-”
“I should have known,” Naruto mumbled under his breath as he tied the robe and walked through the living room to the front door. The doorbell rang again just as his hand reached the handle.
“People have no patience these days,” he said as he opened the door.
“And you have no shame.”
Naruto blinked and realized it was Sasuke on the other side of his door.
“Why are you here?” he asked, quite surprised and suddenly quite conscious of how naked he was underneath the robe and towel and of how close the focus of his jerk-off session was now standing to the participant of his jerk-off session.
“To pick up my sons?” Sasuke answered, one fine brow raised as if to call Naruto stupid.
Naruto felt a spark of annoyance at the implied slight, which allowed him to gather his scattered wits. He grinned his most charming smile at Sasuke and gestured him in.
“Excuse me. Of course you’re here for your boys; I was just expecting Kakashi-san this evening.” Naruto moved aside and allowed Sasuke to pass. He closed the door and turned to call the boys out.
“Otou-sama!” Kei screeched as he raced out of Ayame’s room. Touya calmly followed him, with an almost sad Ayame bringing up the rear. “What are you doing here?”
Naruto could easily see the tick in Sasuke’s brow at being asked the same question, but he was quite sure Sasuke wouldn’t answer so sarcastically to his son.
“I finished my duties at work early today and thought I’d come pick you and Touya up instead of Kakashi. And I thought we could get something to eat before we head home.”
Naruto watched Kei’s face fall and Ayame’s get a little sadder. He quickly stepped up and placed a friendly hand on Sasuke’s shoulder.
“I invited the boys to stay for dinner, and I had planned on inviting Kakashi-san, as well. But since you’re here, I get to invite you instead.”
His voice had slipped slightly, using an almost sultry tone as he spoke, his fingers digging slightly into Sasuke’s shoulder. He knew that Sasuke noticed by the tensing of his back and the quick look out of the corner of his eye.
“I couldn’t impose on you like that, after you’ve already allowed the boys to play here today.”
“It’s no imposition, Sasuke-san. Just look at those pouty little faces.” He motioned to the hopeful Kei and even more hopeful Ayame, because she was a smart girl and knew how to play her dad’s game. Touya didn’t have a trace of interest on his face, but Naruto could see a slight glimmer of want in his deep eyes, though Naruto wasn’t quite sure what it was for, because he wasn’t looking at Sasuke. “How can I not give in? How can you?”
Naruto smiled when he felt and heard Sasuke sigh.
“Fine.”
Naruto patted his back and laughed, moving away towards his room.
“Let me, uh, get dressed, and then I’ll finish dinner.”
He didn’t miss the fact that Sasuke’s eyes didn’t leave him as he walked away, and Naruto felt a small smidgeon of hope rise within him that maybe he could get what he wanted. He knew he’d gotten a positive vibe from the Uchiha during the parent teacher conference!
Walking into his bedroom, Naruto opted for something other than his usual night attire, since he had wee little guests and their gorgeous father over. He pulled on some nice jeans and a white t-shirt, over which he put a light blue button down, though he left the buttons undone.
Reaching for his hairbrush to tame the hair he’d been detained from taming earlier, he was once again stopped from his goal by his cellphone ringing on his nightstand. Grumbling under his breath, he marched over to his cellphone and put it to his ear.
“Bueno?”
It was one of his quirks, actually, to answer the phone in different ways, phrases, or languages, and he always got a kick out of the ones who thought they had the wrong number and hung up.
“Lǎoshī hǎo ma?”
“Ah, touché, Junebug, touché. To what do I owe the pleasure of your call?” Naruto sat down on his bed, watching the minute change on his clock radio.
“I was calling to let you know that I’m going to Suna for a few days.”
“To Suna? For what?” Naruto furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. June didn’t usually make rash decisions like this.
“I’m just going to visit Chiyo-baa-san. I’ll be back fairly soon. No need to worry.”
“This is a bit sudden, June,” Naruto said as he lay back on the bed. “Is something wrong? Are you alright?” he asked seriously. If something were wrong, June usually got defensive and moody when she didn’t feel like sharing, but there were times when her cool nonchalance was more the warning sign, like now.
“Everything’s fine, Naruto. Don’t you think I’d try to hide this from you if anything were wrong?”
‘No’ was what he wanted to say, but kept it to himself. Sure he loved her and cared for her like family, but was it really his place to try and pry into her secrets? She hadn’t done that when Naruto had obviously been keeping secrets, and even now, when he’d confessed the biggest secret of his life to her, she never pried more than the customary teasing. Shouldn’t he afford her the same courtesy, even if the situations weren’t the same?
“Alright, June. I’ll see you when you get back. And please be careful, whatever you’re doing.” There. That was the only warning he’d give her that he knew she wasn’t telling him the truth, and it was up to her to share what was going on, now or later.
Not that he wouldn’t bug the hell out of her for answers when she got back, but still.
She was silent a moment before she let out a soft sigh Naruto just barely heard through the receiver.
“Really, Naruto, it’s nothing for you to worry yourself about. I’m just going to ask for a small favor, and that’s it. I’ll tell you all about it later. I just… don’t want to jinx it before it happens, you know?”
It was still too vague for his tastes, but Naruto bit back his negative reply.
“Alright. We’ll do dinner when you get back.”
“It’s a date! Goodnight, Naruto.”
“Goodnight, Junie.”
Naruto flipped his phone closed and sat up with a large sigh. June was always doing secretive things, ever since senior year of high school, when she’d gone behind his back and applied him to college. And she did always end up telling him what she’d been about, eventually. So best, really, not to worry about it until he was sure she was up to no good.
Laughing to himself, Naruto stood and left his bedroom, entering a silent living room.
“The children are in Ayame-chan’s room,” Sasuke said from the couch. Naruto stopped short and stared at him for a second. “Ayame-chan said I should keep an eye on the broth in the kitchen.”
“That girl,” Naruto mumbled, regaining control of himself.
“I assume it’s a broth that only needs minimal watch since a small child was in charge of it,” Sasuke said as he stood, following Naruto into the kitchen.
“Nah, it’s good ol’ fashion broth, but Ayame’s been cooking with me since she was a tiny little thing, propped on my shoulders.”
Naruto was silent as he pulled the plate of chicken he’d boiled to make the broth and the rest of the ingredients he’d need to finish the meal. Sasuke stood silently by, though when everything was out and Naruto began to fry some of his ramen, he picked up each item and named them off.
“Chicken, salt, oil, chili peppers, white and red onions, garlic, bean powder, coconut milk, oyster and shrimp sauces, hardboiled eggs, lemon, chili powder, and ramen? What are we eating tonight?”
“This, my dear, Sasuke, is a Myanmar specialty – curry ramen. Watch and be amazed as I combine my favorite food with something more particularly pleasing to those with money.” He shot a glance at Sasuke and winked.
“Hn.” Sasuke watched as Naruto moved the fried ramen off the burner and moved over to another burner, pulling another pot onto it and reaching for the oil. “Do you need some help?”
Naruto smiled at Sasuke as he poured oil in the pan and turned the heat up. “Sure. Chop the white and red onions, garlic and hardboiled eggs and slice the lemon for me, if you don’t mind. On separate boards, of course.”
Sasuke grunted and turned to the task, leaving Naruto to turn back to his oil and sauté the chili peppers. Once the scent of the peppers enveloped the kitchen, Naruto turned to find the onion and garlic perfectly chopped and ready to be added to the sauté pot.
“You don’t seem to be the type to cook, Sasuke-san. Please get the chicken for me.”
There was silence for a moment, and then Sasuke was at his elbow with the plate of chicken.
“My cook is also my friend. He taught me a few things for when I need to cook a late dinner or something.”
“Or, maybe cook for a date?” Naruto queried, as he added the chicken to his sauté pot and reached for the pot of broth. Fishing the chicken bones out and placing them in his garbage bowl, he poured the rest of the broth into the sauté pot with the chicken, chili peppers, onions, and garlic.
“That’s an extremely personal question,” Sasuke answered, leaning on the counter next to Naruto, his arms crossed over his chest. “But, yes, one could assume my meager cooking skills could be used to impress someone I hope to bed.” Sasuke smirked at him. “Though, seeing as how your skills far surpass my own, there would be no reason to impress you, huh?”
Naruto chuckled as he added the bean powder, coconut milk, oyster sauce, and shrimp sauce to the pot. He turned on a burner with a pot of water on it before turning to Sasuke.
“There are a few other things that could impress me. I like the sound of that bed thing.”
Sasuke’s smirk dropped, and he looked away for a moment. “We are different people now, Naruto, different things going on in our lives.”
“Agreed,” Naruto agreed cheerily as he turned to his quickly boiling water and plopped in the remaining ramen.
“So then you should stop thinking about us being together.”
“But I can’t, Sasuke,” Naruto said, leaving off the suffix like Sasuke had. He broke the noodles up in the pot. “I think about us all the time. About that night in the club, our dance, and then our brief trip into mind-blowing pleasure.”
He turned and pierced Sasuke with a quasi-serious stare. “How about you?”
Naruto shrugged and turned back to his ramen, turning off the burner and pouring the seasoning into the pot. Once done, he set it to the side to cool.
“You seriously-” Sasuke finally spoke, the question in his voice clear to Naruto.
“Yes, and I want another go,” Naruto said, swinging around to smile at Sasuke. “But I also want more. And I won’t take ‘no’ for an answer now that we are in a private setting. No professional atmosphere to hamper any… untoward behavior, no public setting to hamper any conversation or favorable reactions. So, back to my earlier question. How about you?”
Sasuke was silent, his arms now crossed defensively rather than haughtily. After a moment, his arms fell to his side. “I think about it, every now and again.” His voice turned less quiet, less serious as he added, “When my dildo runs out of batteries.”
He flashed a smirk Naruto’s way, to which Naruto had to respond with a victorious smile. Even if it was only a small step forward.
It would have been a prime opportunity for Naruto to move the scant amount of space between them for a kiss, or at least an intimate knocking of foreheads, but things never had gone great for Naruto in the love aspect of his life before, so he shouldn’t have been surprised when Ayame screamed from her bedroom.
“Tou-san! Is dinner ready?”
Naruto let out a sad sigh and was very pleased to note that Sasuke did, too.
“Yes! Come set the table, midget!” Stampeding feet and the clang of glasses and chopsticks followed the command as Ayame enlisted the help of the twins.
Naruto moved away from Sasuke, giving the man an amused smile and pulling five bowls from the cabinet. He added some oil to the ramen and stirred it, and then put some in the five bowls. Then he poured the soup mixture into the five bowls of ramen and topped them off with the fried ramen, the chopped eggs, the chopped red onions, and a slice of lemon. He then sprinkled some chili powder on top for the final touch.
“Sasuke, if you’d please help me take these to the table.”
“Of course.” Sasuke took two bowls as Naruto took the other three, using skills he’d gathered at part-time jobs during college to make sure none of it spilled.
As Naruto sat the bowls down and sat in his chair, Ayame quickly gave her thanks before digging into her dinner. The three Uchiha quietly gave their own thanks before two of them demurely began to eat, while the third mirrored Ayame.
And Naruto had a sudden thought that this feeling felt good, the one where a big family sat down at the table together for dinner.
“This is actually delicious, Naruto. Thank you,” Sasuke sat, a genuine bit of surprise in his voice. His sons echoed his sentiments while Ayame smiled happily and began to tell them of all the yummy things her tou-san could make.
Naruto chuckled and leaned in close to Sasuke. “You’re very welcome, Sasuke. But if you’d like to repay the favor, I wouldn’t mind being invited over for one of your dinners.”
Sasuke ignored him in favor of his food, which made Naruto smile before digging into his own bowl and debating whether he should spend the night in a cold shower or imaging all the fun things he and Sasuke could get up to at one of Sasuke’s dinners.

happy new year, people! i hope you liked the latest chapter. btw, the curry ramen is real, i think. at least, that's what the manga Addicted to Curry tells me, which, btw, is a pretty decent read despite the plot hinging on whether or not a man can cook delicious curry.
thanks for reading!
