------------------------------------

Naruto stretched his arms out and inhaled Konoha's soft morning breeze. The light from his windowsill crept onto his feet, tugging at the sheets for him to wake up. Naruto let out a sigh as soon as the sun carressed his cheeks. He turned over onto his side and was greeted by the picture of his three man team. A smile danced upon his face while he ran his fingers along side Sakura's frozen image. Oh how he longed to awaken next to her scent.

And then there was Sasuke.

----------------------------

Naruto stumbled out of bed and into his clothes. His stomach was rumbling already. While searching the house for food, he shoved his hands into his pockets only to find his slender Froggie-Wallet and a mysterious note written in someone else's handwritting:

"Please do not forget to meet ME at the hot springs."

Naruto was perplexed. He flipped the piece of paper over looking for signs of the writer's identity but to no avail. He tried to recognize the writing but all he could do was draw a blank. Suddenly it dawned on Naruto. The letter must have been from Sakura! Who else would want to meet with him at the hot springs?

So with that Naruto began his journey to Konoha's famed hot springs in hot pursuit of what he believed to be Sakura's heart. As he walked he began pondering the identity of his secret admirer. What if Sakura was not, in fact, the writer of the note. What if he arrived at the springs and no one was there? What would he do then?

Despite the swirling thoughts in his head, Naruto decided to go to the hot springs. From his perspective, any kind of adventure was a good one. Today was the day he would profess his undying love and devotion to Sakura...but not before he stopped by the Ramen Stand to gulp down a heartly bowl of Pork and Udon noodles.

---------------------------------

After 3 bowls of soup, Naruto paid the shopkeep and started making his way towards the hotsprings. The trek would not be long but he needed someone to keep him company. He surveyed the nearby stands for someone to join him. There was a person sitting off by themselves in the corner next to the Pastry Shop. It was Hinata!

Who better to walk and talk with than Hinata? She was looking straight at him just a minute ago but as soon as his eyes met hers, she broke her glance. Naruto had always thought of Hinata as a very quiet and reserved individual. Perhaps she was frightened by him for some reason. He had done nothing to cause her to be afraid of him but it was always something Naruto had sensed from Hinata. He thought to himself "If Neji was my relative I would be very softspoken too." With that he shifted his feet and started walking towards her.

"Hey Hinata!" Naruto yelled, "What's going on?" His shock of yellow hair bounced as he bounded over to her.

"Oh uhm, hi Naruto-kun..." Hinata started to trail off. All of a sudden he was talking to her. What was she thinking? She should never have acknowledged him when he was walking towards her. Now what on earth was she going to say?

Hinata opened her mouth to say something but Naruto quickly cut her off.

"I am going on a quest to the hot springs today. The Ero-Sannin has finally gone away so I will have time to practice my new techniques."

Hinata looked down at the ground and started to blush as soon as he mentioned the words "hot springs". Each time Hinata looked at him, his eyes drew her in closer. His lips constantly pushed out vowels and consonants that were drizzled in perfection.

"Really? That sounds lovely, Naruto..."

"You think so?" He replied, "If you want to know the real reason why I am going, it is because I am going to meet my secret admirer."

Hinata started choking a little bit but she pretended to clear her throat. Who else would secretly admire Naruto besides herself? Surely he was just telling her these things to get her to confess to him. Why else would Naruto be so cruel and tell her about his secret admirer?

"Is that so?" She fussed with her fingers for a brief moment, stiffled the anxiety deep within herself and then looked straight into his blue oculars. "Who do might you be meeting there?"

Naruto shrugged and kicked the dirt underneath his quivering feet. "I suppose it could be anyone, really."

Hinata jumped to her feet and wrapped her arms around Naruto; clinging to him as though she had not laid eyes on him in years. His fiery tongue meeting hers with passion and purpose, wandering past her lips and into her daydreams...

Before she knew it, her eyes were fluttering open and the first thing she saw was Naruto. His expression had changed from warm and tender into a concerned pout of worry. He was on his knees, bent over her head, peering into her eyes.

"N-Naruto-kun...What happened?" Her countenance bore a puzzled look, as though she had no recollection of what had occured just moments before.

"Hinata-san, you suddenly fainted. Are you okay?" His eyes stared into hers; wanting to discover the beautiful soul that lived behind those painful oculars.

She thought to herself, “As long as you are with me, I will be just fine.” Why was she always so tongue-tied whenever Naruto spoke to her? Every time he looked into her eyes, she felt as though he was closer to knowing her true feelings for him. If he ever knew how she truly felt, he would surely reject her. She was certain of one thing: Naruto would never be interested in her.

"I think I will be alright." Hinata spoke with a mouse-like tone."I have to go now. Neji will be angry with me if I do not complete his chores." She scrambled to her feet, dusting herself off while she stooped down to collect her items that lay on the ground. Hinata turned her back to Naruto and started to walk away.

Naruto leaned over and scooped up a little purple notebook. The book was so small, Hinata must have overlooked it when she dropped her things. He lifted the cover and as he was leafing through the notebook, he came across a page that had been almost entirely inked out. Naruto raised his voice so as to catch Hinata's attention but something made him hesitate. What was it about the notebook that looked so familiar?

"Oi, Hina..." The words he wanted to say got caught in his throat and refused to be spoken aloud. Instead of returning the journal, Naruto stuffed it in his pocket and vowed not to read any more pages. Hinata was his friend and he did not want to break her trust but something told him to hold onto the notebook.

For a moment Naruto almost forgot that he had to hurry to a date with his special secret admirer at the hot springs. Naruto raced down Konoha Village's winding roads, ready for any kind of surprises and full of excitement.
