I'm not sure what the hell happened to me but I was in a mood. I usually don't go for the mushy but I was feeling all girly and junk. WARNING: this might make you cry, I'm sorry. But, I have to admit, the tears were rolling as I wrote this. T. W.-Thank you for another inspiration!! By the by, the song is "My Heart Will Go On" from the movie "Titanic".

“Oi…dobe! Kakashi-sensei said you missed practice today!” Sasuke banged on the door of Naruto’s apartment harder.
“NARUTO! Open the damned door!”

Sasuke felt a shiver of unease as it trickled down his spine. His heart pounded with dread. He kicked in the door. Sakura jumped as the door slammed against the inside wall. His eyes widened as he saw the pool of blood on the floor in front of the couch. A bloodied kunai lay close to a relaxed hand. The sleeve of that horrible orange jumpsuit had absorbed some of the blood and turned an awful color.

“NO, NO…NARUTO NO!” Sasuke screamed. “Sakura, got get Tsunade-sama right now!” Sakura looked into the apartment and saw Naruto’s lifeless body on the floor. She wilted to her knees; “Oh Kami-sama…he’s killed himself. After all these years, he finally snapped,” she whispered to herself. Sasuke ran back to her side, pulled her up and shook her hard enough to rattle her teeth.
“You stupid bitch! I said go get Tsunade! He’s not dead; he can’t be!” he screamed at her. He shoved her towards the stairs and ran back into the apartment. Sakura shook herself and raced for Hokage Tower and prayed that she would reach Tsunade in time.

Sasuke knelt on the floor next to Naruto’s body. He only stared. Tentatively, he moved closer and scooped Naruto’s body and held against his own. Naruto’s head flopped back and caused his sunny blonde locks to brush against Sasuke’s arm. Sasuke used his free hand to smooth the locks down flat and moved to caress Naruto’s face.
“Why, dobe, why?” his asked in a hushed voice, as if Naruto were merely asleep. Tears dripped from his face and landed on the whisker marks that moved when Naruto laughed or taunted him. “Why now? It seemed like what the villagers said or did never touched you emotionally. Or was it something I said or did that caused you to do this?”

Anyway, do you remember when the guy in front of my desk bumped you and we ended up kissing? The fan girl squad went ballistic; but I have to admit that I enjoyed the feel of your lips against mine. I think it was at that precise moment that I started to fall in love with you.
“Haven’t you ever wondered why we fought so much? I was just happy getting any kind of reaction out of you. You went from being my number one rival to being my closest friend. There were times, after we fought, when you would wander away from the group to sit by yourself, I would follow to see what you were doing. There was one time I saw you by the river alone, lying on the shore, with your eyes closed. You had your shirt top off and I saw how tanned your skin was. I wanted to touch it and feel if it was warm or not. I wanted to run my fingers softly over your skin and feel the muscles underneath ripple and to find out if you were ticklish. I have to admit; your blue boxers with the ramen bowls are my favorite. They are so much like you and practically scream that you are Uzumaki Naruto and that you would be the next Hokage, believe it!”

Before I passed out totally, I felt a change in your chakra. I was confused; so when we got back, I cornered Kakashi and forced him to tell me what happened to you. Do you really think that I wouldn’t understand what it felt like to be alone? Hell, I am the last surviving member of the Uchiha clan. I have sworn to be an Avenger and kill my brother, Itachi, before I go on to revive the clan. But, since I met you, I wondered if that was what I really wanted. Even after that snake bastard, Orochimaru, placed that curse mark on me, I wondered.
“Please stay with me and you will never be alone again. If the villagers can’t accept what we are to each other, we’ll leave. I don’t want to be left alone anymore. If you die, I’ll kill myself and we can be together forever.”

The tears from Sasuke’s eyes fell faster. He choked back a sob and gently shook his dobe as he looked for any kind of reaction. Naruto’s eyes remained closed. His breathing had become so shallow and his tanned skin paled even more due to blood loss. Sasuke ripped his shirt off his back and tried to bind the wounds on Naruto’s wrists. He threw back his head and screamed his misery.
“Te…me? What are you doing here?” Naruto spoke softly. His eyes remained closed but as he slowly opened them, he saw the grief etched in Sasuke’s face. He sighed; “Why are you crying?” he asked.
“Baka…why do you think I’m crying for?” Sasuke hissed, as he looked into Naruto’s glazed-over eyes. The summer-sky blue seemed so muted as the life slowly drained out his dobe’s wrists. “Why are you trying to leave me behind? My life has no meaning if you aren’t there for me, dobe!!”
“Don’t…call…me…that. This will be the first time that I’m not dead last.” Naruto whispered before he closed his eyes.

Sasuke panicked; he gently shook Naruto. “Open you eyes, dammit! Don’t you dare leave me like this! Why did you do this to yourself?”
Naruto slowly opened his eyes once more; “Who really cares if I’m alive or not? Most of the villagers consider me a monster…”
“Shut up…I care, usuratonkachi! What the hell will I do with the rest of my life if you're gone? If you’re dead, I’ll have lost the only person I’m stupid enough to love!”
“You…love…me?”
“Weren’t you even listening to me? I LOVE YOU and I cannot lose you. Not now, not ever. To hell with this village…”
Naruto smiled softly; “Teme…say it again, please?”

Outside, ordered chaos ensued. Tsunade and her team of medics rushed in. The bindings were replaced and Naruto was placed upon a litter. Sakura pulled Sasuke aside and held him as the medics did their jobs. He tried to struggle but soon gave up. Tsunade looked at the exhausted Sharingan wielder and gathered him in her arms. “I swear to you we will take good care of him. But, we need to get him to the hospital right now,” she said. The medical team quickly left for the hospital.
Sakura took Sasuke in her arms once more and hugged him like a brother.
“I heard that last part and I’m okay with that. I just want you to know that I want you and Naruto to be happy together. Just know that I will always love you in my own special way and that I will be there for the both of you, always,” she whispered into his hair softly. He smiled as her hugged her back.
“Sakura, can we go to the hospital now? I want to be there when he wakes up.”
“Sure…no problem.”

Hours later, Tsunade found Sasuke and Sakura asleep in the waiting area.
“Oi…Uchiha, Haruno. It must be pretty damned uncomfortable to be slumped over in those chairs, ne?”
Sasuke started and fell to the floor. He looked up at Tsunade and winced as he pulled himself upright. Sakura stretched and yawned as she woke slowly. She suddenly remembered where she was and she looked at Tsunade sharply as well.
“Can…can I see him now?” Sasuke asked with a shaky voice.
“How is he doing?” Sakura asked at the very same moment. Tsunade laughed at the stammering teens.
“Yes…but he’s still sedated. It took quite a bit of stitching to close up his wrists. He has lost a lot of blood but I’m positive he’ll recover physically. Emotionally, I’m not too sure about. I am recommending that he not be left alone when he leaves the hospital. Can Naruto stay with one of you?”
Sasuke released the breath he had been holding; his dobe would be fine. “Yeah…he can stay with me for as long as he needs.”
“Excellent…go see him but try not to overexcite him. He needs his rest.”
Sakura spoke softly, “I’ll let you see him alone. I think I’ll head home and get some real sleep. Let me know how he’s doing, okay”
Sasuke smiled and nodded. He walked to the room his dobe was recovering in. Naruto was propped up on several snow-white pillows, sound asleep. There was an IV pole with two bags hanging from it-one clear and one red. Naruto was breathing deeply and Sasuke was loathed to disturb him. He curled up on the side of the bed that had room and carefully pulled Naruto into his arms. Soon, he fell asleep.
